WWE: A Different Story (starting 2011)

Recommended Posts

(i am still doing another dynasty but having computer issues so I am having to get the stuff i've done and storylines off the bad hard drive.. it'll be a few days, in the meantime i'm doing this)

Quick Highlights of 2010 leading up to January, 2011

WWE programming became a little less than PG but not quite extreme as it was in the past.

We saw John Cena making more enemies than friends, when everyone was slowly steering clear of him because he seemed to be the target of the Nexus attacks. Anyone who was with Cena in some way ended up getting hurt. We saw Bourne get injured and miss a title opportunity, Randy Orton hurt his shoulder causing him to miss 7 weeks of ring action, and several beat downs until Bragging Rights, where John Cena lead a team of mix WWE wrestlers to face off Nexus. If Nexus lost, then they would be fired immediately from WWE. It was all 7 of Nexus vs. Cena, Sheamus, Edge, Bourne, Orton, Jericho, and Dibiase. All of the WWE guys wanted to get away from Cena due to him being the target, but finally gave in to team up to finish the Nexus. When it looked as if team WWE was going to win, we saw Cena turn his arm band inside out to reveal "N" and began to knock out team WWE. Then, Barrett getting the pinfall on Sheamus. Nexus then continued to beat the WWE superstars, tear apart the announcing table, and all 7 Nexus men along with Cena holding their hands high smiling. This left many WWE fans shocked, as well as the WWE without a "leader" or a "face" for their product. Two weeks before Survivor Series, Nexus was explaining Cena was the leader all along. He was tired of being "the man" and Vince using him to make money. Randy Orton was injured and Raw had too many egos for them to have someone like him, then Triple H's music hits as he came out and promised he would be the one to end Nexus.

Triple H and Cena agreed to face off at WWE's final 2009 ppv, in which we saw Cena win the match.

We found out Kane was part of a bigger picture trying to kill off the Undertaker. Kane decided it was time and revealed he and others are responsible for the Undertaker. This, of course, brought the Phenom back in time for a match at SummerSlam in the return of the casket match. The Undertaker won the match. Through out several weeks, mind games began on the Undertaker. Nearing Survivor Series, when signs kept showing Kane was returning for revenge... it was not. The Undertaker asked the one playing mind games reveal himself... the lights went out only to find the Undertaker being pounded by Michael McGilli... err, Joe Hennig, as Joe mentioned who he really was and shared that his father said go for the top to make an impact, so he is. The two were going face to face at Survivor series when Kane returned and caused the Undertaker to lose. Kane then said Joe was not the one who helped him destroy the Undertaker, and promised it would be revealed at the right time. As for now, Kane has returned.

CM Punk grew frustrated at Luke Gallows and Serena, finding out they were both drinking alcohol after shows. Punk decided to make an example of Gallows by pouring alcohol down his throat, leading to alcohol poisoning and releasing him from the Straight Edge Society. Gallows was scheduled to wrestle that night against Kofi Kingston but due to intoxication, he forfeited. And Teddy Long revealed that Punk made the match for him, and made it a career match, which meant Gallows is fired. Punk warned Serena she was next unless she embraced the SES. She finally did.

Title Changes in 2010

Sheamus lost the WWE title at Night of Champions to Orton in a triple threat with Edge.

Rey Mysterio lost the WWE Heavyweight Title at Summer Slam against CM Punk. Punk is still the champion going into 2011.

Kofi Kingston lost the IC Title at the end of October on SD against Cody Rhodes. Cody is still the IC champion.

The Miz is still the US champion.

The Hart Dynasty is currently the tag team champions.

lol loving the Cena twist, the inside-out armband is a very nice touch. The only problem is I now want that to happen in real life and will be disappointed when it does not <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/cool.png.f00d2562b2c1d873a09323753efdb041.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

The Build-up's From Then to Now (storylines/angles)

Rey Mysterio vs. Christopher Daniels

Rey Mysterio held the WWE Title all the way to Summer Slam when he faced one of his enemies, CM Punk. However, on Night of Champions, after Rey Mysterio successfully defended his title against Jack Swagger, he was attacked by a masked man. Rey had injured his knees and would not be able to wrestle until Summer Slam where he accepted Punk's challenge. Rey thought Punk was behind this attack, until the masked man once again appeared at Summer Slam and helped Punk get the victory. Punk looked confused but took advantage and won the Heavyweight Title. Due to the several bumps to his knees, Rey was forced to miss several weeks of action. In the meantime, there were several promos on tape shown from the masked man aiming to remove Rey from wrestling. Rey returned at WWE's December pay per view to face CM Punk one more time for the WWE Heavyweight Title. The masked man appeared but did no interference, but did distract Rey enough where CM Punk was able to capitalize and win. The masked man then went into the ring and began attacking Rey... Rey began crawling and the masked man got in his face and removed the mask to reveal The Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels.

Kane & A Mystery Man vs. The Undertaker

The Undertaker was found by Kane in a vegetative state which put Kane into monster mode. Kane vowed to find out who did this to his brother and wouldn't stop. He accused everyone. Kane said the voices wouldn't let him be quiet, and it was time he revealed who did it and for them to pay the price... the man who did it was him. But it was not his idea nor did he do it alone. The Undertaker returned and defeated Kane in a casket match at Survivor Series. When we thought this was over... mind games began playing immediately on the next Smackdown show. Kane returned and promised his brother the darkness has just begun.

CM Punk vs. Bryan Danielson

After CM Punk won the heavyweight title and Rey was having problems with another individual, Punk saw it as a opportunity to preach his message. Every superstar seemed busy with their own issues and looked to have a free ride. Though, once again he defended his title against Rey at December, he won... and Rey's issues continued with Christopher Daniels. At the final episode of Smackdown in 2010... while Punk was preaching his purity message and that he would be entering 2011 as the champion... an unannounced surprise appeared... Daniel Bryan. Bryan wrestled independent shows and someone came up to him and told him there was a loophole in his contract... that he can continue his contract if he went by another identity, which is why he is back to himself.. Bryan Danielson. Bryan and Punk then talked about their past, which led to Punk hitting Bryan and leaving the ring. Bryan got the mic and promised Punk he was coming for him.

Sheamus vs. Wade Barrett

After Cena turning bad, Sheamus said he had a new respect for Cena. Cena then said he has no respect for him, and that deep down he's just a coward. Cena said Sheamus isn't worthy to be in the ring with him again and that they have other plans for Sheamus. This led to Nexus ganging on Sheamus, with Barrett throwing him through a table. For the first time ever, we saw Sheamus be carried on a stretcher. Sheamus was able to get some strength and yell "I'm coming for you Barrett".

I have some other small fueds and will be starting ones around Rumble time, but there are a few main ones. Let me get my cards ready :-)

Hope you guys are enjoying this. Feedback is welcomed!

Monday Night Raw, January Week 1

Show opens as normal. It is announced by Michael Cole that several members of the Nexus will compete tonight as ordered. John Cena is in the ring with the Nexus group.

Cena: People all over have asked me why. Why did I do it? I was the face of the WWE... I granted wishes for kids... I talked about loyalty and respect... I fought for the good side every time. What happened when I came in the arenas... some of you cheered and some of you booed. Well now.. you all can kiss my ass! Whoops, this is PG right Vince? I'm the nice guy, right Vince? I get money in your pocket from all the merchandise sales, right VINCE? You wanna know why I did what I did... you'll find out when I'm ready to tell you. Until then, enjoy the show.

The crowd boos and begins to chant Cena sucks. Everyone in Nexus leaves the ring except Darren Young as he is scheduled in his Raw debute to face Goldust.

Darren Young defeated Goldust

Goldust clearly carried the match, but Goldust got distracted at Heath Slater coming down ringside and Darren was able to hit his finisher and get a quick pin fall.

Match Rating: D+

Josh Matthews is backstage with The Hart Dynasty as they will be taking on Skip Sheffield and Justin Gabriel later tonight. The Dynasty is ready for all takers including the Nexus.

Ted DiBiase and Maryse are talking backstage about their new years eve celebration and the fun they had.

John Morrison defeated David Otunga

Back and forth action, but Otunga is clearly not ready to be a wrestling star. Morrison got the victory. No Nexus help at all.

Match Rating: C+

Backstage Randy Orton is preparing for his tag match in the main event, John Cena walks up to him with a few guys from Nexus... Cena says he respects Randy and in order for Randy to be off the target, he should join The Nexus. Cena tells Randy to think it over as Randy just gives a evil stair.

Maryse defeated Gail Kim

Decent diva action. Maryse kept flirting with Dibiase at ringside after she did a few moves.. Gail Kim capitalized on it. Dibiase vowed not to hit a lady, so he slid the Million Dollar Belt in the ring and got the ref's attention.. Maryse used it and got the pinfall.

Cena preps up Sheffield and Gabriel for their match next.

The Hart Dynasty defeated Skip Sheffield and Justin Gabriel

The match went back and forth, until Skip took DH Smith outside the ring and threw him into the steel steps in which the ref DQ'd Nexus. They continued their beat down on The Hart Dynasty and left.

Match Rating: C

Santino is backstage and says he's ready to move forward and challenges John Chena to a match. The crowd actually popped big.

Shelton Benjamin defeated R-Truth

This was a pretty fast paced match. We also saw great respect as they shook hands before and after the match.

Backstage we see Nexus beating up Sheamus.

Randy Orton & Evan Bourne defeated Sheamus & Chris Jericho

In a great match, Sheamus was a little hurt from the attack previously by Nexus but made it. Sheamus, barely moving, was able to get a tag to Jericho only to be attacked by Wade Barrett coming from the crowd. Jericho looked at Barrett while he through Sheamus at the announce table, and yelled "what are you doing?!" Barrett looked at Jericho and smiled. Randy turned Jericho around and hit the RKO, followed by Bourne's Shooting Star press. Orton got the pin.

Randy and Bourne shake hands, then Orton turned it into a RKO. Barrett is clapping and Randy just stairs in the sky.

Show Rating: B-

Rating: 5.11
