Bugs & Recruiting Question

Recommended Posts

I posted these bugs on the technical support forum, but I thought I would post it here as well as I thought perhaps others had experienced the same issues. I encountered the following bugs while playing the demo this evening (all of these occurred during the recruiting phase). 1. About half way through recruiting weeks the lower section of the screen (where it shows your team info such as weekly recruiting budget and scholarships available) disappeared. I would either see another one of my applications there (imagine the Bowl Bound screen but with a window at the bottom where team info should be) that was in a background window or sometimes the upper graphic of the game would drag down. 2. Again about half way through recruiting weeks every time I clicked on any button that would create a popup window, such as clicking on the recruit button, I could not make the popup disappear. The only way I could is if I minimized the window and then maximized it. 3. Somewhat like #2, when I tried to exit the game I couldn't get it to close - the popup asking me if I really wanted to exit wouldn't work. I had to go to my task manager to close the game. 4. When I finished my recruiting I noticed that a number of freshmen players were on my roster on scholarship that I didn't offer or recruit. I guess I'm not sure if this is a bug or the game automatically fills in scholarship players where my roster is lacking. However, I am sure I did not select assistance for recruiting. Final comments, I love how this game feels and am very excited about the finished product. My only complaint (beyond these bugs) is that recruiting is very hard. I played with a team that finished with 8 wins from a major conference and I could only land 5 recruits. I had more than 12 players that rated their interest in me a 10 for more than 5 weeks and I recruited them to the max allowed and only 2 or 3 committed. In addition to these recruits, I had another 12-15 that had high interest in my school (8 - 10), took visits, I recruited hard, and still didn't commit. I'm curious if others have had the same issues recruiting or is it just me? Has anyone had a recruiting class where you got 15+ commits? Thank you.

Oh ... this is important to know how to work it as recruiting is key to building up a program over time - something that would be among the most fun things in the game. Perhaps your school's prestige is low, so even if you won many games, that doesn't change in just one year? Still, there should be impact of how good your most recent season was because that does impact recruiting IRL.
