UWAA - Handling Wrestling Like Professionals

Wrestling? In the sports section?

via TotalExtremeWrestling.com

Yes, you read that right. Pro Wrestling in the sports section. If it's the local newspaper or a major sports web site there will be Pro Wrestling news and results in with the NFL and NBA. This is the goal of new Minnesota based company United Wrestling Athletics Alliance.

While we are a simply wrestling web site, we hope that UWAA does not mind us covering there events. It'll be nice to rub elbows with Joe Soucheray and Scott Van Pelt.

The first event will be later in the month, at the Junkyard. The schedule is as follows:

Tag Division

Team Gauge (Matt and Greg Gauge) 0-0 vs. Team Mid Atlantic (Brandon Smith and Cameron Vessey) 0-0

Team Alabama (Thimbley Langton and Wooten Fitzpaine) 0-0 vs. Team Future (Curtis Jenkins and Riley McManus) 0-0

Team Puerto Rico (D.C. Rayne and Eddie Howard) 0-0 vs Team Three Thousand (Davis Wayne Newton and Nelson Callum) 0-0

Top Dawg Falls!

It was a day of the upsets in the newly created UWAA, as the new pro wrestling company that likens itself closer to a sports league than any this with Rich Money or Wolf Hawkins at the top had it's first show. It still had it's fair share of pageantry, with a rock show before the matches

The tag division saw the two real dominate teams win. Team Gauge worked as a well oiled machine in there victory of Team Mid Atlantic. Team Samoa had to work a lot harder than people expected to take out team Canada, and it seems like the team of Sayeed Ali and Omar Brown got some fans in this match. The gem of D-3 was a shockingly good match between Rafael Ruiz and Nathan Black. There has been talk among some that Ruiz was slighted in being put in D-3, and this victory goes a long way towards proving that. In D-2 all eyes were on the Kingman vs. Sanders match. The two veterans of the ring did not disappoint, and when the dust settled Kingman had secured a big win.

In a bit of a shock no higher ranked team in UWAA Division I won a match. The shock started when former tag team specialist Dallas McWade out brawled John Pathlow. Many had Pathlow as a dark horse to win the championship, and now it seemed that was in question. It is said Pathlow may have injured his ribs in the match, which may have led to the loss. Edison over Cattley waasn't a huge surprise, as some had the former MMA fighter to do well in the sports environment of UWAA. In the sub main event 'Honest' Frank Harriet claimed victory over number one ranked 'P-Dawg' Frankie Perez. The veteran used every trick and then some to come out with a win. The main event seemed like a let down after that epic duel, with Steve Flash beating Lee Wright.
