The Laywork

I am not officially 'running' the game in TEW 2010 until I finish working on a mod, which actually will take place on January 2011. I have in place stories of which you will be reading to build up to that moment. Enjoy. Would love to hear feedback.

The Trim Work Slowly Begins

September 2010

Through trial and error, Vince McMahon has seen some of his creations come and go. Some creations have stood the test of time, such as: Wrestlemania, Raw, and memories of historic matches that brought fans to their feet. The latest creation of NXT seemed to be slowly fading as did its predecessor, ECW, but has worked its purpose in building new superstars.

Injuries, among other personal issues, has helped sideline several superstars. This has made Vince McMahon very aware that there is a lack of upcoming superstars that could fill an arena with fans or create excitement in the industry. This year, Vince has seen Triple H receive a possible career-ending injury, the Undertaker get injured several times, Batista retiring, Shawn Michaels retiring, Rey Mysterio hurting, and his own son leaving the business. It seems Vince is left in a struggle to find athletes that once fit the bill of men like Steve Austin and The Rock.

Hitting the ears of Vince McMahon now are possible retirements or leave-of-absence from Edge, Rey Mysterio, The Undertaker, Triple H, and Chris Jericho. On top of that, you have some aging and at some point will leave the business behind to let their bodies and minds heal.

Everyone in the wrestling business may have bad things to say about Vince McMahon, but nobody denies his work-ethic. Vince continues to search out ideas and find ways to continue to build his empire known as World Wrestling Entertainment. Many have said the last few weeks, Vince has been basically not sleeping. Vince has been meeting with several people, of whom at the moment are not known, nor are the reasons for the meeting. What has been made open but quiet is Vince wants to meet with every talent under contract very soon. Some fear for their jobs, but nobody knows for sure.

At Night of Champions, we saw a few surprises.

Michelle McCool defeated Melina to become the unified Women's Champion. After the match, all the lady lumberjacks left to let Laycool celebrate, then Mickie James comes from the crowd and attacks both Michelle and Layla.

CM Punk asked Big Show for a stipulation for their match: if CM Punk wins, Big Show will join the Straight Edge Society, if Show wins, Punk will leave Smackdown. Big show agrees.

CM Punk defeated The Big Show, which means Big Show is now a part of the S.E.S. During the match, we saw Luke Gallows interfere but messed up and hit Punk instead. Then, some girl comes out wearing a mask and hits CM Punk with brass knuckles. The Big Show smiles and the masked girl starts touching Big Show and wants a kiss, then she low blows the Big Show and hits him with brass knuckles. Punk gets up quick and covers Show for the win, as Punk and the masked lady embrace.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Kofi Kingston to retain the IC title.

John Morrison/R-Truth defeated The Hart Dynasty, Jack Swagger/Drew McIntyre to become the new Tag Team Champions.

Daniel Bryan defeated The Miz to become the new US Champion, thanks to Alex Riley who accidentally hit The Miz with the briefcase.

Kane defeated The Undertaker to retain the World Heavyweight Title, then put the Undertaker into a casket and shut the lid.

Randy Orton defeated John Cena, Wade Barrett, Chris Jericho, Edge, and Sheamus to become the new WWE Champion. During the match, Triple H came and fought Sheamus through the crowd to get him counted out and eliminated. Wade Barrett eliminated Edge thanks to Chris Jericho's help. Chris accidentally clotheslined the referee which got him disqualified, in return, Jericho helped John Cena get eliminated and left. Randy Orton eliminated Wade Barrett to win.

October 2010

Trick or Treat?

October 2010

Vince McMahon was beginning to prepare the company for a few changes here and there. With pay per view buys not being steady, Vince decided to kill 'Hell in a Cell' pay per view and stick to one pay per view a month. Ideas were tossed around as to keep Bragging Rights or try another approach. Vince liked the concept but wasn't sure about how they had presented it in the past, as well as, if it was the perfect time for that pay per view. After much discussion, the Bragging Rights pay per view had been scratched as did the "TLC" pay per view concept in December. Vince decided the new pay per view held in October would be called Halloween's 'Friction'.

Vince began meeting with different talents in the company and were told to keep quiet on everything said or done. Rumors were circulating that some talent had been informed they will be released. Other rumors were circulating Vince was gathering new talent, even from TNA. Vince made it clear he would not wipe TNA clean of their talent, as he sees them not even close to the 'WWE league', but wants to give some a chance if they want it. Of course, these were just rumors and nobody could confirm what Vince was actually doing.

Chris Jericho's contract had indeed expired and nobody knew if he had resigned or if he was leaving. The only thing people knew was he had been removed from all house shows and appearances for the rest of the year, which made many speculate he had left.

Triple H returned and said he isn't medically cleared, however, he wants to make sure Sheamus remembered he was around and Triple H was going to cost him everything. Triple H also revealed he was the anonymous Raw GM and would be live on Raw every week here on out. This brought out The Nexus. Wade Barrett vowed to do something Sheamus apparently didn't do and that's to remove Triple H from not just Raw, but the WWE. Sheamus came out and joined the Nexus in beating on Triple H. Triple H then made a match for 'Friction', Sheamus & Wade Barrett vs. a team of his choosing. John Cena told Triple H backstage he wanted to be one of the men, and Triple H ok'd the request. After nobody else was stepping up, John Cena was fine in making it a handicap match.

Edge became a thorn in Randy Orton's side which led to them agreeing to face off in a Hell in a Cell match at Friction for the WWE Title.

The Miz was upset at losing the US title and knows he's better than Daniel Bryan. The Miz promised he would make Daniel Bryan tap out and wants them to fight in a submission match. Bryan agreed to the match.

After a win over Santino and Vladimir on Raw, R-Truth and John Morrison got attacked from a surprise return of Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin. Benjamin and Haas said they are the best and they want a title match. Though Triple H had his hands full with Sheamus and now, The Nexus... he kept his focus on his current role as Raw GM. Triple H made a four-way tag team match at Friction for the tag titles featuring The Hart Dynasty, The World's Greatest Tag Team, John Morrison & R-Truth, and Big Show & CM Punk.

Michelle McCool was not happy about Mickie James returning and demanded she be released. Instead, Teddy Long decided to make a match between the two divas at Friction.

Alberto Del Rio continued his arrogance by claiming he had ended Rey Mysterio's career in a blink of an eye, as well as, hired a new assistant in Chavo Guerrero. In a shocker, Rey Mysterio came from the crowd and began his attack. Del Rio quickly left the ring, which led to Rey beating on Chavo. After the beating was finished, Rey took off his mask to reveal he wasn't Rey Mysterio, but Kaval. Kaval said there is a type of respect nobody would understand with him and Rey, and while Rey is out for now, Kaval was very much here. Del Rio promised he would take out Kaval at Friction.

Kane began mocking his brother once again, and letting everyone know his brother has indeed become weak. He mentioned his brother was still alive but was not in good condition and he planned to finish him off for good. Kane challenged his brother to a casket match. Kane vowed to beat his brother at his own game and would bury the career of his brother once and for all. The mind games ended up going back and forth between the two, with many saying the Undertaker has indeed come back to his old self.

And due to Bragging Rights being canceled, there would be a 4 vs. 4 vs. 4 match between The Nexus, Raw, and SD.

- It is being reported that Vince wants to incorporate something revolving around WCW for this Wrestlemania since it is held in Georgia. Rumors are being stirred as to what exactly, but rumors floating around have been: Goldberg, Sting (whose contract ends at the end of the year in TNA), Kevin Nash (contract ends at the end of October), and because of Lex Luger being added to the Raw vs. Smackdown 2011 game, he is also being rumored.</p><p> </p><p>

- We can confirm Vince has met with every talent on roster to share different thoughts. We are told he has released some, but is telling them to keep quiet.</p><p> </p><p>

- Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas have worked things out and have signed one year contracts with WWE.</p><p> </p><p>

- Possible thoughts regarding the new 'diva' with CM Punk is Serena or Shelly Martinez. We have no leads and cannot confirm any of this.</p><p> </p><p>

- Rey Mysterio is said to be hurting and may take time off at the beginning of the year to rest, and would return for Wrestlemania.</p><p> </p><p>

I am liking it. Just one question. I don't know how the six pack challenge rules work, but in normal matches when someone gets counted out they retain the title. Since Sheamus was counted out shouldn't he retain the title? If not, shouldn't he atleast get a rematch? Keep it up though the diary sounds good so far.
