More than a bit disappointed, which is the only "negative emotion". Really enjoy DOA. At the same, excited to see you take on the SWF again. I definitely understand being pulled in other directions and feeling that compulsion to take on a certain challenge. I look forward to seeing what you give us from the land of Supreme.

Obviously I'm disappointed to see this go, but interested to see you jump back into the big sports entertainment swimming pool that is the SWF and whether you take it down a similar route to your first forray. On the plus side, I was worried you were taking this dynasty into very similar ground that my planned dynasty resides, although by the time I actually get anything from that posted, you'll be in Grad School <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

I would maintain that you really need to avoid trying to do 'too' much writing outside of the shows. Finding some way to implement your first-person accounts into the show writing itself, may help, but then I know you love to literally paint your shows as a vivid picture for the reader to imagine, so that's possibly unworkable.

Thank you everyone; it's much appreciated. :D

I'm really happy with this decision and am slowly working through the details of the project as a whole. Overall, I'm really growing rather excited about the whole ordeal & am doing my best to develop it in a way that it can be interesting to both you (the reader) and me (the writer). My main goal with this one is to create a lengthy, well-developed, SWF dynasty; so, I'm trying to tackle some of the things that may be limiting any sense of length in the past. With that said, I don't really want to temper my writing style all that much as I'm afraid that would be a deterrent as well; as, as a writer, if you feel like you're not writing with a 'familiar voice' you can often lose focus.

I may be stealing some ideas I had, presentation-wise, from my previous projects (one being my most recent DOA one) as I feel they did a great job of really conveying an overall image. That said, I really do want this project to feel unique to itself; unlike things I've done before (even slightly). Realistically, this may be a difficult thing to do as you can only do so much and I feel like I've done a lot of different things in which to bring a new look to my projects. I guess we'll see.

In the end, I just wanted to thank you all for your continuing support. I'm not sure when this will be up, as I have many details/images/ideas to work through, but I'm excited for once it sees the light of day.

Cheers.

EV, there's a difference between, you and the others that "jump" from one project. You have rarely failed to lived up to your promises. Your diaries are high quality. The same can't be said for others that jump from my project to another out of pure "ohh shiny" whims.

If this is your last project, no one's going to blame you, because the stuff you put is great. I do have ONE question, though. If you are not available to do another diary... will you still be "around" in general?

That said, I think it's just more of a, If I'm going to put all of this work into a project then maybe I should be doing something I really want to work on. Ya know? I can be quite sad when you flesh everything out to a "T" only to have minimal response; as we all know as dynasty writers. So, if I'm just not feeling the project, or more focused on another, AND I feel like things are falling by the wayside, I start to look elsewhere; to something I would, probably, rather focus all my attention upon. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

 • 1 month later...

Just thought I'd give a general heads up to others...

I think I may re-activate Season II of DOA: "Rapid Assault"; however, it's all pretty tentative at this point. What I've come to realize by this point, is that, if I am ever to come back to diary writing, there's no other company I would rather write for. I've looked over the Cornellverse a few times and just don't seem to really care for anything out there. That said, with the DOA being one of my most prized creations, It seems like it would be more interesting to work within this realm.

It's going to take some time; however, I do believe that I will revive this somewhere down the line.

Why?

There are some stories that are still needing to be told; fleshed out further. I allowed myself to get distracted before as I didn't really know what the hell I wanted to do as a writer. That said, if I am to come back, it will be under the DOA banner.

I'm not sure how such a diary would look (ie: smaller write-ups, more time in between shows, etc.) but I do know that this is the only project I would want to be part of.

All in all, I'm not saying that I'm coming back for sure really. Just that, if, and when it feels right... The DOA will return.

I've thought about, if and when this comes up, creating a new thread entitled: "DOA Rapid Assault - Season II"; then copy-and-pasting the first few posts in which to give a backlog to the other thread for my shows. This way, I can actually break the seasons up by thread postings; making each project have a start and end date by seasons. Does that make sense? Yes, It would be starting a new thread but it would also break things up so that:

DOA: Evolution of Greed = Season 1

New Thread (outside of this one w/ links to each show on the previous thread) = Season 2

Then, if for some reason down the road, after Season II is over, and I wanted to continue on with a Season 3, then I could easily create a new thread down the line for that. The reason why I would do this is simply cause, while I like this thread, I would have to break up seasons within the thread (as it doesn't designate that it's season two in the thread) making it harder to follow I would think? Meh, what do you think"?

Back to work!

Lunch is ov-ah.

Cheers.
