Full Throttle Wrestling: Very Humble Beginnings

Recommended Posts

December 15, 2009.

It was on this day that my life changed forever. Dramatic, huh? See, before this fateful day I was simply an ordinary eighteen year old guy, working a crappy job delivering pizzas for Big Papa Pizzas, going to school to become a high school history teacher at Ryland University. Nothing fancy, just work and school. Now I did have my hobbies. I loved spending time with friends and family, reading, playing video games, and pro-wrestling.

I grew up watching wrestling. I watched everything: SWF, TCW, NOTBPW, CGC. You name it, I watched it. My friends and I make a yearly pilgrimage down to MAW’s Rip Chord Invitational (where one of my favorite wrestlers, Ant-Man, works). Plus, a few years back, Championship Wrestling From Boston started running shows two blocks from my apartment! I was there every month, watching The Masked Patriot battle Primus Allen and Ash Campbell. Wrestling was part of my life, always there, no matter what.

Now, as you can probably tell, I was a pretty basic kid. Nothing really made me stand out or even cause people (outside family and friends) to notice that I even exist. This is probably likely the reason why, on that fateful day, that the driver of the mail truck didn’t see me walking across the street. And it’s probably why that, after running over my foot (and breaking it in three places), the lawsuit made some pretty big noise in the news. And it’s probably why everyone at James Casey Mailing Services knows my name and hates me with a passion.

I got a pretty decent settlement from the lawsuit, and after quitting that crappy job and paying off my school, I still had a bank account that reaches six figures. After doing what every eighteen year old would do (brought a new car, big screen TV, and every season of Mad Men, Scrubs, and The Office possible), I STILL had a crap ton of cash left over. Now I could have been smart and invested it and been set for a good long time, but remember, I’M EIGHTEEN. I never even heard of the word “responsible.” So I did what every teenage does when he comes into a lot of money….. I started my own wrestling promotion.

“The Teen Dream” made his entrance by flirting with the very few women in the crowd-all three of them- before entering the ring, and quickly attacking Ben Williams. Not giving an inch, Idol beats the ever living crap out of Williams and tosses him around the ring with easy. After four very brutal minutes, Idol ends it with the Idolizer.

The fans are really into both these guys, and it gave the match a little something extra. It was a fairly even match with “The Marksman” trying to pick apart any limb he could get his hands on, but Ant-Man showing off his surprising strength to keep Jameson at bay. After ten solid minutes of back and forth action, Jameson caught a break after Ant-Man tried for the Antidote but “The Marksman” countered with the Bullseye for the win.

The fans instantly took a liking to “The Dread Pirate,” especially since he came out in a cardboard box designed like a pirate ship. The fans laughed as de Aske hop out of his “ship” and jumped into the ring. In the other corner, we have “Regular” Joe, who lacks any soft of personality at all, but the fans like his “common man” thing he’s got going on. The match was a decent little number, but from bell-to-bell, you knew that de Aske was in charge. “The Dread Pirate” showed off his all-around skills and put Joe down hard with the Cut-Throat Driver.

Before the next match, “The Teen Dream” Brendan Idol swaggers down to the ring, mike in hand.

Before the match, the two arrogant heels shook hands. What followed was a great match, with both men going back and forth for twelve strong minutes. The fans were loving it, as “The Teen Dream” tried to unload some high-flying goodness but was stuffed by the technical abilities of “Trademark.” After stopping Idol from going for the Idolizer, Morgan tried a super back suplex from the second rope, only to have “The Teen Dream” reverse it into a sunset flip for the win!

What a match! Match of the night. Jameson quickly started the match off by attacking de Aske’s legs but soon found out that “The Dread Pirate” had some technical skills too. What resulted was a thirteen minute match of pure technical wizardry. “The Marksman” would lock in a submission, only for de Aske to reverse it into his own hold. The finish came when Jameson went for the Bullseye, only for “The Dread Pirate” to reverse it into the Cut-Throat Driver for the pinfall!

The fans cheer as the two shake hands before “The Marksman” leaves the ring. The cameras follow Jameson backstage where he suddenly met with a viscous chairshot across the head! You could tell both men were a little tired after wrestling twice before, but it did not stop them from having a great match.

“The Teen Dream” quickly started the match off by throwing some haymakers at de Aske, but quickly was overtaken by “The Dread Pirate’s” brawling abilities. Idol was pushed back into the corner, covering up, as de Aske went to town, throwing hard lefts and rights. After whipping Idol across the ring, “The Dread Pirate” went for a flying corner forearm, only to have “The Teen Dream” move out of the way.

As de Aske stumbled around the ring, Idol quickly took control with three pin-point dropkicks. As de Aske laid in the middle of the ring, “The Teen Dream” went for the Idolizer, only to have “The Dread Pirate” quickly hop to his feet and hit a devastating back cracker from the second rope!

After a few moments of both men collecting their breath on the mat, de Aske grabbed Idol and went for the Cut- Throat Driver only to have it countered into a massive DDT! Idol slowly climbed the ropes and launched himself off with the Idolizer, but de Aske barely moved out of the way, sending Idol to the mat hard.

“The Dread Pirate” quickly collected himself and nailed Idol with a hard Cut-Throat Driver before securing the victory with the Skull and Cross Bones for the win and the championship belt!

The fans continued to cheer as de Aske is handed the FTW Championship belt. He raises it over his head, when suddenly he is dropped from behind with a viscous clothesline from “Trademark” Thomas Morgan! “Trademark” starts stomping away on the tired, helpless “Dread Pirate,” as Brendan Idol grabs a mike.

The two heels continue to beat up on de Aske, ending the savage beat down with a title belt across the face of “The Dread Pirate!“ The fans viscously boo the two arrogant jerks as them leave the ring, and Hugh de Aske bloodied in the center, with his newly won- and bloody- FTW Championship laying nearby.
