Football Manager 2011 anybody?

I was just wondering if someone else is playing Sports Interactive's Football Manager 2011 here? Me, I had some issues with the retail version at first because the game kept crashing in 3D mode, but patch 11.1 fixed that for me and ever since it works like a charm. I highly enjoy the game, started a throwaway save with Barca to check out all the changes from 2010 but will soon start a proper game with a lower tier club, probably one from England actually cause I haven't done that in the past.

I really dig the depth of this game and how amazing are the new contract negotiations! Can't get enough of it, unfortunately I have to say cause not too long ago I got a Logitech G27 racing wheel ... which for now will be gathering dust. Ack ... but hey, racing can wait when the football is on ^^

I haven't played long enough for it to have any effect on my gameworld, but it's nice to know it's there.</p>

<p>I am having great fun and spent about 34 hours on it since release, TEW is on the back burner.</p><p> </p><p>

Favourite story so far losing 8-1 to Real Madrid as Celtic, Vincent Enyeama injured as was my 2nd keeper (on the same day) my 3rd and 4th keeper aren't eligible so a 17 year old had to go in net and he had terrible stats. Needless to say I'm out but I did beat Inter 2-1 and only lose the first tie with Madrid 2-1 after Ronaldo scored a penalty and Defour missed one (only scored 1/6 penalties in an actual game this year (damn you Pires.) </p><p> </p><p>

The Group of Death Inter, Madrid, Rosenberg and Celtic really annoyed me!</p><p> </p><p>

I love the game and I am glad others on this board play it too.</p><p> </p><p>

P.S EddieFNG I am disappointed in you . SUPPORT SI GAMES!</p>

So while I already paid, I had nothing to show for it!</p>

Starting unemployed, hm, I may consider that actually. I am currently looking for an english Championship side that isn't TOO bad financially for my real game (Barca is my throwaway game like I said), and since I don't know much about anything below Premier League in England, some info would be nifty.

In the fifth season I finished fourth in the Premier League and qualified for the Champions League. As far as I remember I won the FA Cup the next season. <p>Wow, does everyone have the same idea about Leeds? lol</p><p> </p><p>

I also took them back to glory on FM10, back-to-back promotions saw us into the Prem, three seasons later I'd won the Premiership. Happy days. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

My favorite game (on 08) had to be one I started unemployed, took my first job at Bournemouth in League one, got em promoted, jumped em to recently relegated Newcastle, took them back to the Premiership, jumped to relegated Bolton, took them back to the Premiership, went back to Bournemouth, who were back down in League 1, after 5 years I was in the UEFA Cup.

Have it on my Chistmas list. Probably won't be playing any marquee level teams though. My track record in games like this is that I couldn't give a warm bucket of spit about playing as the Man U's and AC Milans of the world. I'm more the Bill Parcells type. I like to build up a nothing team and take them to respectability then leave for a new team and start the process over again. Playing the big boys in this genre feels like just rearranging deck chairs on the cruise ship. I'd rather make something that wasn't there before of the guys I play with.

<p>What is everyone best/favourite FM achievement?</p><p> </p><p>

Mine is taking my most local club (Stalybridge Celtic) to the championship over 15 years I think, that was on 2009, no such luck last year, got pretty much stuck towards the lower ends of League 2</p>
