Total Lucha Libre

Recommended Posts

Despite my best efforts I just couldn't get 100% behind my XDW dynasty. The owner goals and lack of sponsership was far too constraining and I was simply not willing to edit data to make things work out.

With that said I would like to announce the birth of Total Lucha Libre. It is a company that wishes to eliminate the outside influences on Lucha Libre and bring it back to its roots. TLL is very hostile to MPWF,OLLIE, and SOTBPW who it views as ruining Lucha Libre.

The company is owned and ran by Carlos Reyes Jr. who is also the road agent and current announcer of TLL.

The product has Traditional, Lucha Libre, and Mainstream at Keyfeature and Modern at medium.

This means wrestlers are rated equally on popularity and performance, fans don't want risky matches, angles, or gimmicks. Fans want simple gimmicks because they don't get subtle ones, sponsership is Extremely Favorable, no young lion or rocking of industry changes.

The roster will follow shortly after the 1st backstory post...

Mexico City. Mexico

A man in a black suit and tinted glasses paces around his office. He looks around at the various Lucha Libre memorabilia but nothing holds his attention long because he is waiting for a very important call, a call that will change the world of Lucha Libre forever. When the phone finally rings the man practically dives on his desk to answer it.

Man: Hello…yes, this is Carlos Reyes Jr. I understand the current situation as it pertains to Lucha Libre, however I truly believe there is room for another promotion to thrive. I also understand that neither MPWF, nor SOTBPW, nor OLLIE has plans to expand beyond our country. I intend to go beyond Mexico and bring Lucha Libre to a world wide audience. Yes, it is an ambitious goal but I believe the business model I have outlined for you show that it can be achieved. Thank you sir…you will not regret your decision.

Carlos hangs up the phone and falls back into his leather chair. His mind wanders back to the last day he saw his brother, the same day he realized that he could no longer just dream about starting his own company..

August 12th 2006

Mexico City, Mexico

Carlos Reyes had passed away several years prior, leaving behind a wife and two sons, Carlos Reyes Jr. and Miguel Reyes. Despite being the son of a luchadore life was hard for the boys and often Carlos was forced to do field work to help support his family, especially when his father went across the border looking for work in America. Carlos was never given the chance to train as a wrestler due to his other responsibilities so it fell to Miguel to carry on the tradition and mask of El Guardiano after their father passed away. For several years Miguel wrestled as El Guardiano Jr., although he was by no means a “big” name in the sport. One day Phoenix I came to Miguel with a “brilliant” idea. Miguel thought about the idea then went to see Carlos to ask him for advice. This dear reader is where our story truly begins…

Miguel: Carlos you don’t understand! Phoenix is offering me a chance to make an impact on the sport. Besides…it’s only for a few months, then I will be revealed as well as the other two Swarm members.

Carlos: How can you trust that guy? He’s the head booker and the top star! You think that’s a coincidence? You think he’s really going to let you become anything more than a guy he builds up to be the one to take out?

Miguel: It isn’t like that Carlos…

Carlos: It isn’t? Look who he has told you he was putting in your group. Raul Sanz Jr. is practically a cripple. Ever since Mexican Beast botched that suplex on him the guy has never had another halfway decent match. And Mr. Lucha II…he couldn’t get over even after donning the mask of one of the sports most beloved icons.

Miguel: So…that just means when we reveal ourselves I’ll get the biggest push…Besides, if your worried about whom I am partnered with, you could always become Swarm IV.

Carlos: Miguel you know I don’t wrestle, and if I ever did decide to become a luchadore it would be under father’s mask. A mask you swore to bring prestige to. Or have you forgotten your promise?

Miguel: I haven’t forgotten, but I believe this will bring honor to our family. Just wait Carlos, you’ll see…time will prove me right and you wrong…

Carlos: Miguel! Don’t do this, I beg you. Just hold out a few more years, I almost got the money together to start up our own company just like father wanted to do before…he died.

Miguel: You’ve been saying that for years Carlos. Give it a rest already. Owning your own company is a pipe dream, just like me thinking I could ever become famous by following in father’s footsteps!

Carlos: How dare you say that! Get out Miguel. Go throw your legacy away for a quick buck like some pienche baboso!

Miguel: I will Carlos…and when you run out of money and are living like a bum, you can always become Swarm IV…

Awesome backstory. As a quick aside, I'd just say that the Mr. Lucha II bio originally said that he has donned the mask "without any real connection to the real Mr Lucha" (or something to that effect.)

When I and a few others pointed out that in real lucha that would almost never happen and that it would actually make that wrestler get some real heat from fans, Adam listened and followed up creating Swarm ..and thereby removing that gimmick and two of the other not-so-hot renders from the game.

Not that it effects your game..but Mr Lucha II probably wouldn't have gotten over even with all the talent in the world in those circumstances..

great start so far :)

Mexico City, Mexico

Carlos Reyes Jr. stands tall in front of the historic San Louis Potosi Hall. In front of him stands a podium, complete with a microphone and the TLL logo. Hundreds of journalists are standing around waiting for the press conference to begin and several photographers snap off shots.

http://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/TLL/CarlosReyesJr.jpg

In six days, on Sunday March 7th, the world of Lucha Libre will be restored to its former glory! Total Lucha Libre holds its first show here at the historic San Louis Potosi Hall, the sight of such ground breaking matches as El Patron vs. The Pharaoh and Mephisto vs. Quasar. Here, on this hallowed ground I and TLL will rid Lucha Libre of the dishonorable influences of Sports Entertainment, Puroresu, and Garbage Wrasslin!

Total Lucha Libre will never stray from the vision of its forbearers as it brings to you the most exciting Lucha Libre action to ever be put on in Mexico. Action packed matches unlike the plodding, slow-paced, boring matches that OLLIE tries to pass off as Lucha Libre. Matches that will be serious, sports competition devoid of comedy unlike the goofy, sloppy, mierda MPWF showcases. Finally, unlike SOTBPW, TLL will never rely on spot filled daredevil stunts because we have true Luchadores who know how to construct a real Lucha Libre match.

In seven days, you no longer have three choices to get your fill of Lucha Libre…you have ONE! Total Lucha Libre…the only TRUE Lucha Libre promotion left!

Carlos Reyes Jr.

~Announcer~

Carlos::: Welcome one and all to the debut of Total Lucha Libre! The only choice when it comes to satisfying your cravings for Lucha Libre action. We have a huge show in store for you including our Battle Royal to appoint the first Rey de Lucha Libre, a championship that has every member of the Total Lucha Libre roster stepping up their game. We are moments away from our first match, which sees the debut of The Luna Twins, Luna Clara and Luna Oscura. However, it looks like their opponents Rudy Velasquez and Hector Galindo are already in the ring with Jesus Chavez and a pair of mics.

http://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/TLL/RudyVelasquez.jpghttp://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/TLL/HectorGalindo.jpghttp://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/TLL/JesusChavez.jpg

~The Latin Kings~ Rudy Velasquez, Hector Galindo, and Jesus Chavez

Rudy::: Well, well. It looks like we have a damn lawn care convention going on.

Hector::: Now, now Rudy. To be fair, I’m sure some of these damn Mexicans are fruit pickers.

The crowd begins to boo

Rudy::: Go ahead boo! Typical Mexicans…you just wish you were Puerto Rican like us!

Hector::: That’s right Rudy…then they wouldn’t have to sneak into the U.S. like rats.

The crowd boos even louder (55)

http://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/TLL/RudyVelasquez.jpghttp://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/TLL/HectorGalindo.jpghttp://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/XDW/vs3.jpghttp://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/TLL/LunaClara.jpghttp://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/TLL/LunaOscura.jpg

The Latin Kings vs. The Luna Twins

Luna Clara and Rudy Velasquez started things off with a quick trade of arm drags. Luna Clara was eventually thrown to the outside and Luna Oscura entered the ring and caught Rudy Velasquez unaware and scored a quick roll up.

After the ref got both teams back to their corners the bell rang on fall two and Hector Galindo was quick to toss Luna Oscura into his corner. As Hector distracted the ref Rudy nailed Luna Oscura with a series of closed fist that had Luna Oscura stumble back into Hector and get hit with a Thug Buster, giving the second fall to The Latin Kings.

As the third fall began Jesus Chavez pulled Luna Oscura out of the ring and an isolated Luna Clara was double teamed until Rudy nailed a Street Cutter for the win.

Winner by 2 falls to 1: The Latin Kings! (37)

Carlos::: Damn those low lives! If I know the Luna Twins, they will not let this loss get them down. Our next match between El Jefe Militar and El Luchadore Valiente is just moments away. Who will win when the General of the Ring goes up against the Valiant One!

http://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/TLL/ElJefeMilitar.jpghttp://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/XDW/vs3.jpghttp://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/TLL/ElLuchadorValiente.jpg

~The general of The Ring~ El Jefe Militar vs. ~The Valiant One~El Luchadore Valiente

El Jefe Militar took control of the match right away with a series of arm drags followed by some hip tosses and a quick snap suplex. Following up on that, he hit a release power bomb and scored the first fall.

After the bell sounded on the second fall, Luchadore Valiente came in strong with a head scissor takedown but was soon the victim of a quick snapmare. El Jefe Militar then hit a running power bomb and scored the pin.

Winner by 2 straight falls: ~The General of the Ring~ El Jefe Militar! (24)

Carlos::: Tough loss for The Valiant One…wait a minute El Jefe Militar doesn’t look like he’s finished…

El Jefe Militar grabs Luchadore Valiente and places him in the position for another power bomb. The ref gets in El Jefe Militar’s face and El Jefe Militar lets Luchadore Valiente down, but then he nails Luchadore Valiente with a pile driver!

Carlos::: My God! A pile driver! Luchadore Valiente looks to be completely out of it. How will he be able to compete in the battle royal later on? There’s a reason why moves like that are illegal folks and you’re seeing it right now as Luchadore Valiente is laying there limp as a rag.

The medical staff helps Luchadore Valiente out of the ring as the crowd cheers for him. (44)

Carlos::: Folks I am almost at a loss for words…Luckily we have El Orgulloso taking on El Pajero del Fuego to distract us.

http://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/TLL/ElOrgulloso.jpghttp://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/TLL/vs3.jpghttp://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/TLL/PjaroDelFuego.jpg

El Orgulloso vs. El Pajero del Fuego

El Orgulloso played to the crowd and El Pajero del Fuego took advantage of it and sent El Orgulloso to the outside with a dropkick to the back. El orgulloso quickly got back in and landed a series of lariats followed by a huge hurricanrana for the first pin.

As the second fall began, El Pajero del Fuego tried for a suplex but El Orgulloso reversed it. A quick springboard senton off the second rope followed by a pin was all it took to score the second fall.

Winner by 2 straight falls: El orgulloso! (26)

Carlos::: What a win for El Orgulloso! After that performance you have to believe his chances are very good to win the battle royal later on tonight. Up next we have the debut of Sunburst as he tries to overcome the big man Jesus Chavez.

http://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/TLL/Sunburst.jpghttp://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/TLL/vs3.jpghttp://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/TLL/JesusChavez.jpg

Sunburst vs. Jesus Chavez

Before the bell even rings, Jesus Chavez attacks Sunburst and nails him with a German suplex. Jesus then follows it up with a power slam. (52)

Carlos::: Another cowardly attack by one of the Rudos here in Total Lucha Libre.

The bell is rung and Jesus makes a quick pin to score the first fall.

Sunburst gets to his feet and the second fall starts with Jesus nailing Sunburst with a huge knee to the gut. Jesus then tries a power bomb only to have Sunburst punch his way out. Sunburst tries to get some offense going only to have Jesus rake his eyes then nail him with a 187 Lariat. Jesus makes the pin for the second fall.

Winner by 2 straight falls: Jesus Chavez! (26)

Carlos::: After that vicious display you have to believe Jesus is more than ready for the battle royal. What’s this?

The lights begin to flicker and smoke billows up from under the ring. An eerie sound fills the arena and we see what appears to be a flying saucer hover over the ring. The saucer opens up and out appears Extranjero Loco.(37)

http://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/TLL/ExtranjeroLoco.jpg

Carlos::: What an entrance folks! If he can wrestle half as good as that then we are in for a show!

http://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/TLL/ExtranjeroLoco.jpghttp://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/TLL/vs3.jpghttp://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/TLL/LaBestiaPurpura.jpg

Extranjero Loco vs. La Bestia Purpura

Extranjero Loco and La Bestia Purpura traded arm drags in the center of the ring until La Bestia Purpura was able to get a quick Russian leg sweep. La Bestia Purpura then nailed a few elbow drops followed by a leg drop off the second rope. Extranjero Loco turned things around with a snap suplex followed by a plancha off the top rope to score the first fall.

Extranjero Loco came out fast and scored a series of quick kicks to the gut that sent La Bestia Purpura to the corner. Extranjero Loco followed it up with a splash and a monkey flip that sent La Bestia Purpura down hard. La Bestia Purpura then tried a samoan drop only to have Extranjero Loco to reverse it into a pinfall.

Winner by 2 straight falls: Extranjero Loco! (35)

Carlos::: The action keeps getting hotter and in a few minutes we are going to see our last One on One contest for the night. La Estrella takes on El Pavo Real and there is no doubt the winner of that one will have tons of momentum going into the battle royal.

http://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/TLL/LaEstrella.jpghttp://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/TLL/MercedesGimenez.jpghttp://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/TLL/vs3.jpghttp://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/TLL/ElPavoReal.jpg

La Estrella w/Mercedes Gimenez vs. El Pavo Real

La Estrella took the fight right to El Pavo Real and after a distraction by Mercedes Gimenez La Estrella was able to get a roll up pinfall using a fist full of tights.

The second fall started off with El Pavo Real dominating the match but soon Mercedes was on the ring apron and the ref went over to get her down. As the ref was distracted, La Bestia Purpura came out and hit a Beast Bomb on El Pavo Real and La Estrella was able to score the win.

Winner by 2 straight falls: La Estrella (43)

Carlos::: Damn it! I can’t believe La Estrella had to cheat to win. I hope El Pavo Real gets some revenge in the battle royal. Wait a second…La Estrella and La Bestia Purpura are in the ring and La Estrella has a mic.

http://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/TLL/LaEstrella.jpghttp://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/TLL/LaBestiaPurpura.jpg

La Estrella and La Bestia Purpura

La Estrella::: Let me just go on record as saying I will become El Rey de Lucha Libre! You see not only am I the best damn luchadore on the roster but I have a little insurance policy known as La Bestia Purpura! This isn’t a 10 man battle royal…it’s a 9 man plus one crazy S.O.B. who wants to insure I win battle royal! (46)

Carlos::: Looks like La Estrella has La Bestia Purpura in his back pocket folks. Will it be enough to carry him to a victory? We find out in just a few moments because the battle royal is up next!

The action is fast and furious as everyone is trying to toss everyone else out of the ring. Sunburst and Luchadore Valiente are the first two eliminated as Jesus Chavez tossed them both out with a double choke slam. La Bestia Purpura eliminated El Pajero del Fuego but he was soon tossed out by El Orgulloso. El Jefe Militar was tossed out by Extranjero Loco while La Estrella was eliminated by El Pavo Real. Jesus was then ganged up by the Tecnicos and tossed out as the crowd cheered. El Pavo Real and El Orgulloso traded blows until El Orgulloso was tossed out. El Pavo Real didn’t have time to celebrate because soon he was tossed out too.
