Two belts within one division

Recommended Posts

Im playing MW 7 with a few of my own edits.......Im in 2013 and KOTC is a feeder club of mine but while the flyweight division goes from 100-125, there are a 100-115 and a 115-125 belt.....But the 115-125 belt has not been fought for in almost 3 years....

Is it just bad luck or is it not possible to have to belts in one division

It's possible, but it would smarter to break up the division as opposed to putting two belts on it. The AI is going to fill their roster based on division, not by who can fight for which belt. So since your division covers 25 pounds, the AI is hiring fighters towards the top of that weight class (being more around 125). The AI doesn't care how long a belt has been contended or not, just that they have the right amount of people in their weight class.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but to the best of my knowledge, Titles can only be defended in the exact same weight range they are set to. If you have a 116-125 pound belt, it can only be defended if the fight takes place at a weight class that also ranges from exactly 116-125.

So if your weight class ranges from 100-125 pounds, the only title that can be defended within it is one with the exact same weight range.

For example, if you changed your Heavyweight weight class to start at 201 pounds instead of 206, you wouldn't be able to have a 206-265 pound belt defended within that weight class anymore. You would have to change the belt's weight range as well.

I don't know how you guys do it, but in regards to having two belts in one division, I use an interim title quite frequently. Granted, it's the same weights in the same class, not 100-115 and 116-125. But, like in the UFC, I have the actual title at 100-125, then the interim belt, that is immediately vacated after the "real" title fight. Win or lose, there is no interim champ after the fight.

I feel like I should know this answer, as I had a similar issue in an older save of mine, but man it's been about six months since I've played. I do think it has to do with the AI not caring about titles and more about fulfilling a division's requirement. Since the division is 100-125, the AI's main goal is to find fighters to fit that gap.

It's basically what Rebby said. Your division goes from 100 to 125 so the AI is looking for guys to fight at the cap of that weight division. Since you have two belts in that fit that divisions requirement being 100-115 and 116-125, the AI is going to book around 125 belt since it is seen as being the cap of that weight class. I'm not saying the AI won't eventually come around to messing with the 100-115lb Title, but more often than not the 125 belt is going to be the focus.
