The Night Before The Royal Rumble

More news concerning tomorrow night’s Royal Rumble, it seems that The Vader vs Goldust match on Monday Night Raw, which resulted in Goldust Firing Luna marks the end of their feud.

The Rock VS Ken Shamrock feud is in its early staged but the WWF seems to think it will draw good reviews, with the two set to square off tomorrow only time will tell.

Steve Austin is still raising hell and many want to knock his lights out, Owen Hart and Triple H continue to feud as Owen thinks getting past Triple H will lead to him getting his hands on the Harts ultimate enemy Shawn Michaels.

It seems Marc Mero and Sable will be split up as an onscreen team.

The Undertaker takes on Shawn Michaels for the WWF Championship at The Royal Rumble in a casket match, will Kane yet again confront his older brother as Undertaker refuses to fight back?

NEW BLOOD

While WCW Keep up there reputation of buying up the biggest names in wrestling in an attempt to bolster an already impressive roster, they add Ahmed Johnson (recently released from WWF), Mart Janetty, Sid Vicious & Steve Williams to name just a few.

The WWF However seem to be looking to the future, whilst they are not huge names they are known to have some exposure and have a promising future, The Dudley’s acquired from rivals ECW have already got some heat working dark matches, Chris Benoit & Eddie Guererro (big time steals from WCW) have made their debut as The Professionals and it seems The Giant Paul Wight (another major steal from WCW understood to be one of many) is also now on WWF books but some seem to think he needs some further training.

WWF declared war on ECW last week stating they hope to ‘Acquire their rivals’, the war has been dirty as it seems WWF is raiding their roster.

DEVELOPMENT

WWF opened FCW (Florida Championship Wrestling) last month and are negotiating with OVW (Ohio Valley Wrestling) hoping to make them there second development territory (due to a pretty huge FCW Roster) they have signed some new faces many in the ‘Biz’ are tipping for greatness such as Joey Matthews (OMEGA), Adam Copeland & Jay Reso (a solid young tag team) and Chris Daniels from ECWA.

I've toyed around with this period a few times, as it marked the beginning of my teenage years with wrestling (grew up a Bret Hart fan, but didn't follow him to WCW). I never got terribly far into the games, but it's a lot of fun to fantasy book this transitional period.

The first few shows were difficult as there were pre-started storylines to follow but now were heading towards the rumble I can let my creativity begin.

I like Ken Shamrock a lot more in hindsight than I did at the time. That said, I wouldn't bet my midcard on him, until he develops more of a character. The Rock was just getting his legs under him at this point, so it's really interesting to see where you go with him.

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat,

The Proffesionals defeated The Dudley Boys, The New Blackjacks and Headbangers in 13:55;

the order of elimination was The Dudley Boys first, then Headbangers,

and finally The New Blackjacks.

The announcing quality lifted the match.

The colour commentary gave the match a boost.

Bubba Ray Dudley is improving in Performance skills.

*A ladder sits outside the ring as the music of Taka Michinoku hits, he gets am average pop from the crowd, as do Jerry Lynn & Dean Malenko (along with his Valet Sunny who looks downright hot).

The reaction for Guido and the youngster Tajiri is near enough nonexistent.

We join toward the end of the match.

-Jerry Lynn lays in a contorted mess on top of Guido after both men were pushed from the top of the ladder to the outside by Malenko, Tajiri still lays unconscious in the ring after a chair Ladder to the head from Malenko.

At the top of the ladder stand Dean Malenko and Taka Michinoku battling with all the energy and momentum they can muster!-

“BY GOD ITS BEEN CARNAGE OUT HERE, GUIDO AND LYNN HAVE NOT MOVED!! TAJIRI COULD BE CONCUST AND NOW THE CHAMPION AND THE MOST DANGOROUS MAN IN THIS MATCH MALENKO ARE GOING TOE TO TOE ON TOP OF THE LADDER!!”

“Hopefully they will both fall off, and hopefully after that we will find they are all retiring so we don’t have to sit through these boring Lightheavyweight matches anymore!

“Despite your bitterness about your boy not being the Lightheavyweight Champion, I can’t believe you can possibly say this is boring, it has been a sloberknocker!”

“It’s been boring, the only close to good thing is that Malenko is only just able to qualify as one of these miniature wrestlers and watching him throw them around with real wrestling moves, none of these glorified gymnastics!”

-The two continue to brawl on the ladder, Malenko go’s for a huge right-hand but Taka has it scouted, he dodges and nails Malenko stunning him.-

-both men lay motionless, but after a few moments Taka is able to rise, he groggily climbs the ladder and reclaims his Championship!-

-Triple H is in control in what has been a back and forth showdown of epic proportions, the two have put on a clinic, HHH Has the upper hand after interference by Chyna.

“And it’s Helmsley now dominating, he hits a snap suplex on Hart, this match has been fascinating, both men giving it every ounce of effort they have”

KING

“But in the end once again DX are gunna prove that it sucks being a Hart, just like they did with Owen big brother, and just like they do week in and week out with Owen!”

“We cant hide from the fact Owen had control until the distraction from that Amazon Chyna, Helmsley now with a facebuster on Hart, HES SETTING UP FOR THE PEDEGREE ON HART THIS ONE COULD BE OVER!!”

-Owen breaks free and hits HHH with an enzuigiri, he drops like a dead weight, Chyna climbs the apron to try and once again distract Hart, Owen gets right in her face and they both trade trash talk, HHH gets up and go’s to attack Hart.

-A good showing by the Legion but the Outlaws have had to carry most of the match, The Legion is in control and it looks to be over, Billy Gunn is laid out in one corner as Animal & Hawk have the Legal Man Road Dog set up for the Doomsday Device in the other!

“And this one should be over, HAWK GETS READY TO FLY!! NOOO WAIT A DAMN MINUETE!!”

-before they know what’s happening Billy Gunn chock blocks Animal causing him to fall and drop Road Dog and Hawk who is in midflight to miss his mark, Road Dog takes advantage by going for the pin on Hawk as Billy Gunn takes Animal out of the ring!

-It has been a mostly Shamrock dominated match, but The Rock has looked very sharp in ring when on the offense! The Referee is down after accidental shoulder tackle from Shamrock, after A Rocky sidestep.

The two men are outside the ring as Shamrock looks to be in control.

“Shamrock picks The Rock up from the mat, he hits a hard right, and a huge Kick to the thighs of Maivia!”

KING

“You could hear that all the way up in the rafters!”

“WAIT A MINUETE, WAIT A DAMN MINUET!!”

-Much to the shock of the fans who are genuinely amazed Mike Tyson has leaned over and delivered a tremendous right hook to Shamrock putting him straight down to the mat! He hops over the barrier and takes of his Jacket to reveal a Nation Of Domination Shirt!! A half aware Rocky smiles as Tyson throws a limp Shamrock into the ring!

“THIS IS DICUSTING! THIS CANT BE ALOUD TO HAPPEN!!”

“HAHAHA I ALLWAYS KNEW THAT TYSON WAS A GOOD GUY! IVE NEVER HAD A BAD WORD FOR HIM!”

“Maivia now also slides in, he lifts a probably knocked out Shamrock, A ROCK BOTTOM!! NOT THAT HE NEEDED IT AFTER THAT VILE RIGHT HAND!!

-The ref comes two and counts to 3 to give The Rock The Win!!

The Rest of The Nation come out including a confused but pleased Farooq who is genuinely thrilled at the sight of Mike Tyson in a Nation Tee.

Goldust was really off his game tonight. A pretty rowdy crowd were all over the case of Kurrgan.

A pretty vocal crowd didn't seem particularly thrilled with seeing Mike Awesome wrestle.

The announcing quality lifted the match. The great performance of Steve Austin really stood out.

The The New age take on the Blackjacks storyline has continued with this match.

“Controversial?! Last night we saw Stone Cold win the Rumble and Kane burnt his brother alive ITS BEYOND CONTRAVERSIAL!!”

“Tonight we will hear from Stone Cold Steve Austin, we will see Kane in one on one action for the first time since appearing in the WWF, we will also get an exclusive interview from the Worlds Baddest Man Mike Tyson!!”

*Owen Harts Music Hits*

“But first of we start things with our new European Champion Owen Hart”

King

“That nugget doesn’t deserve that belt! He was a part of an unfair assault on a woman last night, he should be in jail!”

JR

“Chyna attempted to distract Owen so Triple H could sucker punch him, Owen ducked and Triple H knocked Chyna from the mat, how in the hell does that make Owen an assailant??”

King

“He should have took his bump like a man Ross, instead of letting poor innocent Chyna get hurt!”

Owen gets a great reaction from the crowd, his popularity seems to be improving.

His opponent Goldust makes his way to the ring receiving good heat.

He is in classic Goldust attire and accompanied by Marlena.

King

“Now I spoke to Marlena earlier today and she told me that Goldust has returned from Hiatus to take over active duty from The Artist Formally Known as Goldust! And that they had a long talk and patched things up”

“Give me a brake king, it was always Goldust, he can try and claim that it was someone else the last few weeks all he wants, and Marlena is a damn fool for becoming involved with him again!”

We Join towards the end of the match –

-The two have put on a decent match, Goldust playing the heel fantastically and also making Owen look very good in the ring, really putting Owen over as the big babyface. Marlena works well in Goldust’s corner showing she too can be a good heel.

Owen is in control and is on the top rope as a groggy Goldust rises to his feet.

“And a cross body from the top, Owen is in control, the crowd knows whats coming, can he lock it in?!!?”

King

“Someone do something, this nugget needs halting!!”

JR

“SHARPSHOOTER, SHARPSHOOTER THIS ONE SHOULD BE OVER,, WAIT, WAIT NO GODDAMIT!”

King

“YES HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!”

*DX storms the ring Chyna quickly disposes of Marlena, HBK Superkicks Owen and he and Triple H throw Goldust out of the ring.

The crowd boo’s and jeers, some even throwing drinks and other confectionary into the ring, DX Handcuff Owen to the ropes by both hands, HBK gets a mic as Triple H beats down on Owen leaving him limp.

“Now Owen, after last night I think it’s fair to say Hunter hear isn’t in the best of mood’s, and who can blame him, he has to sit and watch a talentless, boring, virgin, peeping tom, hick, Canadian, stinky stop me if I have missed anything, LOSER prance around with his European Championship! But we had better let Hunter vent before he explodes!”

*HBK passes the mic to HHH

“Now Owen, lets speak frankly, Man to Boy, we all know that without big brother Brett and his little stooges around your trying to fill some small shoes with some tiny feet, you are trying to prove that you have the cahones, the fortitude to live in your brothers misshapen deformed shadow, well guess what Owen, your loser brother lived in our shadow, you live in his shadow, and that’s the way it’s gunna stay, and at No Way Out of Texas im gunna show that The Rumble was a fluke by taking back my Title, but just so you get the picture for now you little stinkin’ nugget, were gunna put you down for a few weeks!”

Chyna hands Triple H and HBK a steel chair each they both stand either side of the limp Owen and prepare to bludgeon away at his head.

*Taka Michinoku makes his way to the ring as we return from commercial to a pretty decent cheer, Dean Malenko and his manager Sunny get some mediocre heat as they arrive to the ring.

We join towards the end of the match-

-Taka and Dean have put on a clinic of action a show stealing match, but the crowd haven’t responded as well as hoped, Sunny does some good work outside the ring to help enhance the high standards inside it.

Malenko is in control of this non-title match.

“And it’s Malenko now he hoists Michinoku onto the top rope, looks like he is going for a superplex”

King

“who cares what a boring match this has been”

“I don’t know how you can say such a thing these two have put on one hell of a show! Michinoku fights back, REVERSAL, MICHINOKU THROWS MALENKO DOWN TO THE MAT!”

*Michinoku dives threw the air going for a huge elbow!

“MAKLENKO DODGES, MICHINOKU CRASHES AND BURNS! MALENKO IS STURING, HE LOCKS IN A TEXAS CLOVERLEAF, CAN HE MAKE MICHINOKU TAP?!?!”

King

*Cole is shoved off screen by Regal

“My intentions are no secret, I am sick of the way this industry is going, this company like every other company needs someone at its head to have some class, some decorum, now this company would benefit greatly with me as its face, and I intend to prove that, starting next week when I will have my first match, and I will put any little toe rag who feels up to the challenge, UNDER my boot!”

*The Nations Music hit’s and boo’s and jeers are defining.

As they get to the ring the Nations mouth piece The Rock has a mic.

“Listen up you pieces of trash, The Rock has something MONUMENTAL to get off his perfectly formed chest, last night that jabroni Ken Shamrock found out first hand, that when you get in the ring with the great one, you do not leave with any warm fuzzy feelings, there are no triumphant sense of accomplishment, you leave with the rocks boot shoved so far up your candy ass you taste it for weeks and weeks! Now many people including our revolutionary leader Faarooq will be thrilled to hear that The Rock has pulled off a major coo!”

*Faarooq has a huge smile on his face and gives the rock a huge round of applause of his own along with the rest of The Nation.

“Allow The Rock to welcome the new enforcer of The Nation of Domination, MIKE TYSON!”

*The Nations music rings out loudly as Iron Mike Tyson makes his way to the ring and is embraced by the Nation of Domination as the Crowd hits a frenzy of boo’s and a furious “YOU SUCK” chant rings out.

“It’s all coming into place, The Nation of Domination will be the biggest force in WWF History, Iron Mike is now a proud member Of This Nation!”

*Mankinds music hits and he and The Headbangers make their way to the ring, the many cheers mostly aimed at Mankind.

We join towards the end of the match-

-The match has been average at best but had some great heat as Mankind and The Rock show some great chemistry, Mike Tyson draws some genuine hatred and feeds on it at ringside.

The Nation and Mankind’s misfit team have been evenly matched so far, The Rock and Mankind are exchanging blows. Mankind ducks a Rock right hand and the ref is knocked out, Faarooq, D’lo & Kama need no invitation they dispose of the Headbangers by using belts and giving them lashings.

Mike Tyson throws in a chair and The Rock gives Mankind some sickening headshots!

“THIS IS DISCUSTING, THATS A HUMAN BEING AND MAIVIA IS GIVING HIS BRAIN A RATTELING, MANKIND COULD BE BRAINDEAD AFTER THIS!”

King

“AFTER THIS?!?! THAT WEIRDO WAS BRAINDEAD FROM BIRTH ROSS!!”

JR

“The Ref comes round and Maivia go’s for the pin, 1,2,3 DAMN MAIVIA GETS THE WIN!!”

Mike Tyson slides in and raises the hand of The Rock in slides Faarooq with a huge grin on his face and raises his hand in the Nation Of Domination Style.

“WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT NO NO NO!!”

The Rock nails Faarooq on the back with a chair, as he turns round he gets a thunderous right hand from Mike Tyson laying him flat on his back next to mankind!

We go backstage to a dark room and see Raven sat in a corner

“The World Wrestling Federation, a place where superstars take pride in tradition, they work hard and earn a lucrative salary, they fight for the right to earn prestigious championships, they look to leave a lineage and place in the history books. I seek none of this, you see all I want is to leave a black, besmirching mark on this company, all I want to leave is pain, suffering and destruction!

All I want, is darkness, QOUTE THE RAVEN,,,,, NEVERMORE!”

The camera pans away into darkness as Raven laughs an evil shrieking laugh!

Eddie Gurerro makes his ring to some decent heat, Bradshaw makes his way second to some mediocre cheers.

We join towards the end of the match-

-A match with passable action but little or no heat leaves the crowd a little quiet.

Bradshaw has slowed the pace to a standstill and lays some hard stiff rights on Gurerro before hitting a suplex, Benoit fights back trying to lock in the crossface, but Bradshaw powers out, but before long Benoit reverses the Clothesline From Hell and nails Bradshaw with a DDT before hitting the Frog Splash.

“A match full of grit and determination but today Gurerro showed that technical prowess can overcome pure power!”

King

“He also proved facing an opponent with rocks for brains is an advantage!”

We return to RAW as the familiar sound of glass shattering echoes threw the rafters and the crowd go’s insane as their hero Austin makes his way to the ring.

He climbs into the ring and grabs a mic.

“I gotta few things I wana say, first off If you think Vince McMahon and his bounty on Stone Colds head can kiss my ass gimme a hell yea!”

Crowd

“HELL YEA!!”

Austin

“Second thing, I godda say is I got a lot of respect for that sum’bitch who damn near paralyzed me and proved again last night he is one of the best competitors in the WWF Owen Hart! But Owen learned the hard way when Stone Cold says he is gunna win the Royal Rumble Stone Cold will kick every ass in his way and enjoy doing it! This brings me to part three Shawn Michaels better hope Vader doesn’t kick his ass to much tonight because at Wrestlemania fourteen Stone Cold Steve Austin is gunna stomp a mud hole in ya and win his first World Wrestling Federation Championship, now if you think Stone Cold Steve Austin should take Shawn Michaels and his little crotch chops, his high school pranks, his little heart covered tights, his little precious sparkly boots and those little gloves and break em in two as I open up a can of whoop ass GIMME A HELL YEA!!”

“HELL YEA!”

“And that’s all I godda say about that, because I’m gunna let my actions speak louder than words and that’s the bottom line COZ STONE COLD SAID SO!”

*The crowd erupts as Austin feeds of their cheers and poses on the turnbuckles with the middle finger raised high!

The lights go out and Kane’s music leaves an eerie chill in the arena, as the pyro explodes the monster Kane along with Paul bearer make their way to the ring to some really huge heat. In the ring is Mabel who came out whilst the recap video was playing, as Kane enters the ring Mabel dosent wait for the bell and begins to hammer Kane with rights, lefts and elbows and a huge crossbody wich takes Kane down.

*Mabel hits five of his trademark big splashes onto Kane which would be enough to destroy any other man.

As Mabel turns his back on Kane to yell into the crowd how dominant he is Kane sits up eerily and rises to his feet, Mabel turns round and is shocked to see Kane’s mask staring back at him, obviously terrified Mabel stands frozen with fear.

Kane tilts his head slightly and begins to throw some huge right hands at Mabel before hitting an unbelievable Tombstone to the Giant man.

JR

“I CANT BELIEVE IT, KANE JUST PICKED UP THAT MAMMOTH MABEL AND SROPPED HIM ON HIS HEAD, I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYONE MANHANDLE MABEL LIKE THAT IN MY LIFE!!”

King

“I am lost for words Ross this Big Red Monster is unstoppable”

*1,2,3.

*Paul Bearer grabs a mic and with a huge grin on his face addresses the crowd.

“THE UNDERTAKER IS DEAD, HE NOW RESIDES PERMINANTLY IN THE DEEP DEPTHS OF HELL WARE FIRE BURNS AWAY HIS FLESH AND THE MAGGOTS FEAST ON HIS ORGANS! AND HE SHOULD REMEMBER FOR THE REST OF TIME THAT IT WAS HIS BROTHER, HIS OWN FLESH AND BLOOD THAT PUT HIM THERE, THE ONLY REMAINING MEMBER OF HIS OWN FAMILY, THE FAMILY HE HIMSELF SNUFFED OUT!”

The crowd boo’s Bearer furiously.

“KANE IS NOW THE DOMINANT FORCE, KANE IS NOW THE BRINGER OF HELLFIRE AND THE KEEPER OF LOST SOULS!! KANE IS THE DARK FUTURE!”

Kane sets off his corner Pyro’s as Bearer laughs his evil laugh.

Degeneration X’s music hits and the crowd give some furious heat as the trio make their way to the ring.

Vader gets some a pretty good reaction as the huge mastodon makes his way down the aisle.

We join towards the end of the match-

-The two men put on a decent show, surprisingly the crowd go’s bananas to this match, Vader works very hard to make Michaels look even better than usual, which is not easy as Michaels already looks like a hall of famer. Vader shows just what a professional he is. Vader gets some good offence aswell as taking some good attacks from Michaels.

Vader has just been distracted by Chyna and Triple H.

JR

“THAT DAMN DX, THIS HAS BEEN A GREAT MATCH BUT THEY CANT LET THEIR GUY MICHAELS DO IT ALONE!!”

King

“Vader mint not wana turnaround he won’t like the view!”

JR

“VADER TURNS STRAIGHT INTO SOME SWEET CHIN MUSIC!”

*Michaels gets the 1,2,3 with aid from the rest of DX.

*Owen Hart dives from the crowd and chases Triple H and Chyna over the barrier with a chair and they disappear into the crowd.

HBK looks on in disbelief, but he is suddenly shocked as the glass shatters and Stone Cold Steve Austin appears at the top of the ramp.

First they lip-read each other’s trash talk before HBK gives the DX crotch chop and Stone Cold replies with the finger and smiles a huge grin as Michaels turns round and is hit with a huge Powerslam from Vader then a Vader Bomb.

The Show ends as Austin grins.

THURSDAY WEEK 4 JANUARY 1998

We have learned today that future Hall Of Immortal Member and The Current WCW World Heavyweight Champion STING passed away in the early hours of this morning.

Unfortunately we are devastated to report this is another drugs related death in our industry. This will be bad for the image of WCW with their top draw passing away thanks to drugs.

This comes so soon after the Brian Pillman autopsy we wonder how many more lives have to be needlessly lost before the industry cleans itself up.

It is understood the next Nitro will be a tribute show with all story lines and feuds taking a back seat for 1 week, Raw Is War reports suggest that story lines and feuds will continue as normal but black armbands will be warn. ECW have not made any report of this or even acknowledged the incident.

We have learned today that the World Wrestling Federation have suspended the following performers for a minimum of 28 days.

Steve Blackman

We understand that these are drug and steroid related suspensions, it is rumored some of the more high

profile stars of the WWF have gotten away with final warnings rather than suspensions.

With the death of Sting it seems that the WWF is very concerned about the welfare of their workers.

Whoa... Losing Sting out of the game world is a pretty big blow, espcially to WCW. That's a pretty big name, and a pretty good worker, to have go down.

Cleaning up the WWE during this era is gonna be a tough haul. A good idea, but not easy. The WWE had a lot of users and I believe the mod reflects that.

Liking this project quite a lot so far. Keep up the good work!

Yea no Sting is a major blow on the industry, he was going to be one of my long term targets/steals to.

Cleaning up isn't going to be the most easy task but one im committed to.

We have it on good authority that FCW the development promotion of WWF have signed a deal with New Japan Pro Wrestling to share talent for an undisclosed amount of time, it is thought that the prospect of having the 16 year old prodigy Bryan Danielson and The Hardy Brothers in Japan made this deal very lucrative for NJPW and FCW who would look forward to their youngsters working with some of the best the industry has to offer.

It has also been confirmed that Sunday Night Heat will be returning to our airwaves with the FOX channel FX, the new season will start soon.

WCW will be waiting anxiously for the autopsy of deceased superstar Sting, a coctail of drugs in his system would be very bad for the company, it is thought Stings family are very unhappy with the lack of control behind the scenes at WCW, they are looking into legal action against Eric Bishoff for death by neglect.

ECW Have signed youngster Carly Colon and he has made his debut as Carlito Cool an anti hardcore performer, he has some real heat with the fans.

Fit Finaly, Savio Vega, Norman Smiley, NOSAWA, Vampiro and Xavier have also been brought in to develop their dwindling roster.

It seam's that the British Isles are a hotbed for young wrestling talent, will this prove to be true, it seems WWF and WCW are scouting the area vigorously.
