thilonash
Trying to start a company up from scratch with 0 popularity, nobody signed to contracts to begin the game, and only 10,000 dollars. (ok, so not truly the TEW 0-0-0 idea but pretty close to it) Does anyone know how to survive? Is there a list of CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP fighters? ive found some that will sign for 600 per fight, and then theres like 3 fighters that are 0-0 and will sign a 100 dollar contract. other then that, im getting killed. I put on a show, 8 man tournement (tryin to recreate the UFC in a way, first couple shows are tournies, no weight classes, etc). and that month lost 10,570 dollars. No idea what to do. I want a realistic challenge, start from nothing and build it up into a masterpeice like the UFC did. Any tips?!?
Tag01
That's pretty realistic. Even the UFC had investors in the beginning though. You're just not going to be profitable immediately.
Falcon21
Running tournaments is just begging to run at a huge loss, because as I recall you'll be paying the fighters their fight pay each time they progress in the tournament. So Assumming an 8 man tourney, you payed the winner of the tournament 3x (plus win bonuses) his normal pay. Not bad for a day's work, but it's going to put a strain on your financial resources. As soon as you get to PPV, you should be fine, at least thats what it was like in WMMA2
gottabekb
You are going to take a financial hit no matter what you do off the start. The best way I found to build up my reputation fast. I have 8 man tourneys in each of my weight classes to crown a champ. I set them up so I know one or two good fighters will win it. Once they win a tourney in your small promotion he should be a "Star" of it. While he is taking time off I have another tourney or two in that weight classes to start establish contenders. Thats what has worked for me anyway. You will take a hit financially but your company grows alot quicker then building them up one fight at a time. Eyeball
Man, building popularity as a 100% new promotion is hard. Not only do I lose about 25.000$ a month running a show every 3 weeks, my popularity has just gone from 0 to 8.5 over 10 shows! Thing is, unlike WMMA2, it looks like having a main event with famous, popular fighters on winning streaks isn't enough. Now the fight also has to be EXCITING, and if your popular guys are all lumbering wrestlers, this is pretty hard to pull off. I honestly have to save before running shows and then reload if the main event and co-main event turn out to be boring grindfests. I'd still be at 0 popularity if I didn't do this. thilonash
ive actually just said screw it, start with 100,000 dollars, and i went into the options menu and chose impossible to get fired. Im pretty sure its impossible to do a 0-0-0 thing. im in november, running 1 show a month, and just dropped into the negative this month. after 10 shows my popularity is only like 11. like 7 of my shows i didnt gain anything, the money part is a pain, but i do love how it takes longer to build up. Im positive that once i build up a little ill be able to gain money. My esxcuse for "being realistic" is that the UFC had investors, and pisssed away tons of money in the early days and took years to turn a profit. EddieFnG
You might wanna turn on that money feature as well that your org can't go bankrupt.
