MrSelfDestruct Posted December 12, 2010 Share Posted December 12, 2010 with the addition of fighters actually landing things, I have seen many great wars on the feet. complete turn arounds. i must say seeing them start swinging and actually hit is much better than "they both exchange strikes, neither hits" every two seconds like in wmma2. I wanna see some of your guy's slugfests. here is one of mine. - Matthew Michael Kirby vs. 'The Big Dog' Linfield Ballard - From player-controlled event 'SIGMA: Cabal vs. Ya Konan' (from the save game '123') - Created 12 December 2010 >Next up, Matthew Michael Kirby squares off with 'The Big Dog' Linfield Ballard in the SIGMA Light Heavyweight division. >The fight begins! >There's a stalemate as both fighters throw strikes but neither hits. >A weak body kick is countered by Kirby with a jab. >Moving forward, Ballard counters a series of wayward big punches with a kick to the outside of the left knee. >Those strikes to the legs are going to take their toll. >Kirby comes in closer, looking to attack from the pocket. >Kirby is in the pocket, ready to attack Ballard. >Both fighters come in and throw strikes, there is no real damage done by either. >They wind up in a tight clinch. >Using his wrestling skills, Kirby is trying to push Ballard up against the cage. >Kirby does it, Ballard is stuck with his back to the cage. >Ballard is trapped against the cage and Kirby punishes him with a solid elbow strike to the cheek. >Kirby hits Ballard with a short, sharp right uppercut, wobbling him. >Kirby attempts to use some close-range elbow strikes but Ballard pulls the clinch tighter, making it impossible to launch them. >Kirby attempts to throw an elbow, but Ballard tightens the clinch, preventing the blow from being launched. >Kirby steps back to achieve some separation from Ballard and gets ready to strike. >Both fighters throw strikes at the same time, both miss. >Going toe-to-toe, both fighters start exchanging close range strikes! >A right hook lands from Kirby, the best punch of the exchange. >Ballard throws a left jab but Kirby uses good head movement to make sure it slips by. >Stepping back, Kirby creates a bit of distance. >A jab doesn't find its intended target, allowing Ballard to fire back with a kick to the ribs. >Ballard is looking to get in close and strike from the pocket. >Ballard is in the pocket, ready to attack Kirby. >Ballard dodges a jab, and fires back with a kick to the outside of the knee. >Matthew Michael Kirby is now clearly favouring one leg. >Punishing the legs is a great strategy on the part of Ballard. >Kirby is less of a threat on his feet if he is limping around. >They come together and throw strikes, both miss. >Ballard uses head movement to avoid a combination of punches, then counters with a straight left. >Ballard throws a left jab but Kirby uses good head movement to make sure it slips by. >Ballard dodges a jab, and fires back with a kick to the ribs. >Ballard lets a jab sail wide and counter-strikes with a clean left jab. >Showing good head movement, Ballard slips past a tight combination and counter-strikes with a sharp kick to the shin. >Matthew Michael Kirby is obviously limping. >Ballard tries for a left jab but Kirby uses head movement to avoid it. >Kirby checks a low kick and then steps forward to hit a crisp left jab. >We pass the halfway mark of this round. >Kirby slips past a jab and scores with a nice jab. >A showdown where they both exchange strikes only results in a stalemate. >Kirby checks a leg kick. >Ballard throws a leg kick but Kirby checks it easily. >Ballard slips past a jab and scores with a stinging jab. >They exchange strikes, but neither fighter inflicts any real damage. >Kirby, standing in the pocket, has to check a leg kick. >Stepping back, Ballard creates a bit of distance. >Kirby doesn't get drawn in as Ballard feints a kick. >Moving in closer, Kirby looks like he wants to strike from the pocket. >Kirby is now standing in the pocket. >Kirby looks to be trying to close the distance between them. >Ballard throws a vicious right hand as a counter, but it misses the target. >Kirby looks to move in and stand in the pocket. >Ballard throws a big right hand as a counter, but it misses the target. >Ballard throws a swift jab but doesn't do any damage. >Kirby quickly gets in closer, looking to attack. >Both fighters go to exchange blows, but neither hits a telling strike. >Having stepped in close to throw their strikes, both fighters start swinging! >A huge right hook sends Kirby down hard! >Ballard moves in quickly, kneeling beside Kirby and starting to hammer down with punches! >Ballard pounds away, Kirby is barely able to offer any defence at all! >With Kirby taking a beating, the referee has to stop the match! >By TKO, the winner is Linfield Ballard! >Official Result: 'The Big Dog' Linfield Ballard defeats Matthew Michael Kirby (TKO (Strikes) in 12:29 of round 1).
