Guest Minichan
Is it just me or do fighters go down alot in rankings when they lose?
JohnnyInsurance
Depends on who they lose to, and how the fighters below them are doing in there last matches I suppose. I have no problems with how the rankings are at all.
Eyeball
Me neither. Fans are fickle - look at how Fedor went from being #1 P4P on Sherdog to not even beign on the list after his recent loss to Werdum,
jesterx7769
The rankings go by reputation (and maybe Aura, not 100% since this is new) and reputation goes up and down alot. It would be better if rankings were some complicated equation of skill+popularity+performance+reputation but I'm sure thats much more hard to program to balance fairly. It would be better if rankings were some complicated equation of skill+popularity+performance+reputation but I'm sure thats much more hard to program to balance fairly. The actual equation for rankings IS a lot more complicated. I started my own promotion from the very bottom and my rankings are a very complicated list... reputation is the main stat (by a huge margin) but momentum (secondary) and popularity/performance (tertiary) all seem to factor in too. I've got 48 reputation guys ranking below 24 reputation guys because the higher one is on the back of a couple of defeats while the lower one is on a winning streak. It's easy to see on the lower levels because there is some differences between them... but on the top 25 you'll find that most of those guys are on winning streaks since you need to be in order to get that far up. With secondary and tertiary factors all being very even that far up in the rankings it has to come down to reputation to break things up, which is also why you see people dropping so far from one loss when they are near the top. There are a lot of people very close together and ALL on winning streaks, so losing that streak is what will send you down the rankings. At least, that's from my observations. jesterx7769
Hmmm didnt notice that. As just starting my promotion without guys on losing streaks my rankings go purely in reputation order.
