Chute_Boxe
... New prospects have arrived. UFC confirmed the signing of two young prospects Carson Beebe (6-0) and Rodolfo Marques (11-1) on their official website earlier today. Both young-guns will compete in UFC's Bantamweight Division. Carson Beebe is the younger brother of former WEC Bantamweight Champion Chase Beebe. Young Carson will definitely look to follow the footsteps of his older brother, and try to become the Bantamweight Champion in the future. "It is an absolute honour to fight in the UFC, and I will do my best to have success and put on the best fights I possibly can" said young Beebe who will bring into the octagon an undefeated 6-0 record with 2 T/KO's, 2 Submissions and 2 Decisions. Rodolfo Marques is Shooto vet, and yet another lighter weight competitor coming from the feared Nova Uniao academy. With such notables on his side as Jose Aldo, Marlon Sandro or Wagnney Fabiano, people have a lot of hope for the youngster from Brazil. "I hope to bring home the Bantamweight Championship and make Nova Uniao the best camp in the world" said the young Nova Uniao product. Both Marques and Beebe look like some real nice prospects that you have to keep an eye on, and expect them both to make their debuts soon. Beebe might fight at UFC 129 or 130 while Marques might make his debut at UFC Brazil. Another addition to the UFC roster happened. Givandilo Santana (15-1) has signed with the UFC and will compete in the Middleweight Division. 30-year-old from Brazil now fighting out of Team Oyama (along with the likes of Shane Del Rosario, Rob McCullough and Bao Quach) has earned a fearsome nickname "The Arm Collector" because 12 of his 15 wins come by way of Arm Bar. Santana is a multiple ShoXC Challengers vet holds wins over fighters such as Lodune Sincaid, Jaime Fletcher and Anthony Ruiz. His only loss came via Split Decision to Jaime Jara at one of the Challengers cards back in 2008. Undefeated in over two years, Givandilo "The Arm Collector" Santana will look to send shockwaves through the stacked Middleweight Division. Chute_Boxe
Dunham moves up the ladder, Featherweight Championship fight uncertain. UFC Fight for the Troop 2 event turned out great. The attendance in Texas was 6,562 and all those people witnessed a Night full of exciting fights. Pat Barry, Joey Beltran, Waylon Lowe and Rani Yahya earned that events "... Of the Night" awards. With Frankie Edgar vs Gray Maynard III in works for UFC 130 and Anthony Pettis vs Clay Guida in works for UFC 129, Evan Dunham will most likely face the winner of Dennis Siver vs George Sotiropoulos bout or the winner of the rumoured Sean Sherk vs Nik Lentz fight. George Roop was able to stop Hominicks road to Featherweight Title. Before the event it was said that if Hominick wins, he will get the next crack at Jose Aldo. But Roop changed the plans. With 2 impressive wins over Chan Sung Jung and the mentioned Hominick, Roop is "close to getting a shot". No clear contender though. "You got Diego Nunes who comes off the biggest win of his career, you got Chad Mendes who is on a roll, you got George Roop who keeps surprising the doubters and you have Dustin Poirier who shocked the world at UFC 125. You also got the big new comers such as (Michihiro) Omigawa. The roster is stacked, and I'm sure we will work something out" With Cole Miller winning his fight in impressive fashion, the obvious question was, Cole Miller vs Donald Cerrone. Is it next ? "You know, Cerrone did call Cole out and Cole accepted. But Cerrone stepped in for (Sam) Stout at UFC 126 so I think it depends on wether he wins or not. But we're definitely thinking about this fight." Also announced during the Conference is that Mike Brown WILL get his last chance in the UFC. "(Brown) He's a tough kid. He's the man to stop Urijah Faber. We're gonna give him his last chance in UFC, since he always comes to fight and took the fight on short notice. He's mentaly not in there right now too. He looked bad since Gamburyan fight, and I believe that if he can get his Sh*t together, he will be a major force again." In short: -Fight of the Night: Pat Barry vs Joey Beltran -Submission of the Night: Rani Yahya -Knockout of the Night: Waylon Lowe -George Roop will NOT get a Featherweight Title Shot. -Cole Miller vs Donald Cerrone is a possibility -Evan Dunham will face either Siver/Sotiropoulos or Sherk/Lentz -Mike Brown will NOT be cut. -Tim Hague IS cut. Chute_Boxe
Weigh in drama, UFC 126 Main Event turned into non-title fight. Just when you thought you're 24 hours away from perhaps the best event in UFC history, this bombshell drops. All fighters came in at weight and it's time for the champion and the challenger to step on the weight. Vitor Belfort stands on the weight, and Joe Rogan shocks everybody. 194lbs. Yep. 9lbs over in a world title fight. So the fight was a non title fight already. But then, Anderson Silva went onto the scale and...188lbs. "This is f*cking ridiciulous !" said UFC President, Dana White "Both of them are in a title fight and they both miss weight and ruin perhaps the biggest fight in Middleweight History. There will be f*cking consequences." Anderson Silva (188lbs)* vs Vitor Belfort (194lbs)* Rich Franklin (205lbs) vs Forrest Griffin (205lbs) Jake Ellenberger (170lbs) vs Carlos Eduardo Rocha (170lbs) Jon Jones (205lbs) vs Ryan Bader (205lbs) Miguel Torres (135lbs) vs Antonio Banuelos (135lbs) Donald Cerrone (155lbs) vs Paul Kelly (155lbs) Michihiro Omigawa (145lbs) vs Chad Mendes (145lbs) Paul Taylor (155lbs) vs Gabe Ruediger (155lbS) Norifumi Yamamoto (135lbs) vs Charlie Valencia (135lbs) Kyle Kingsbury (205lbs) vs Ricardo Romero (205lbs) Mike Pierce (170lbs) vs Kenny Robertson (170lbs) *-Missed weight. ... Pierce starts pounding away and referee had to stop the fight. Bruce Buffer: Ladies and Gentleman, referee stopped the fight after just 1 minute and 27 seconds of the very first round, declaring the winner by TKO…Mike Pierce ! *Good* Kyle Kingsbury vs Ricardo Romero Round 1 – A lot of clinching and unsuccessful takedown attempts from Ricardo Romero Some striking from Kingsbury. Pretty yawn-ish round. Round 2 – Less clinching, a little bit more striking and a successful takedown from Romero. Not a Fight of the Year candidate so far by any means. Round 3 – That was probably the most entertaining round of the bout. No takedown attempts from Romero. Just some striking and clinching. We go to the decision. Bruce Buffer: Ladies and Gentleman, after 3 round we go to the judges scorecards for the decision. Judges score it 29-28, 29-28 and 30-27 for your winner by Unanimous Decision…Ricardo Romero ! *Very Poor* Norifumi Yamamoto vs Charlie Valencia Round 1 – Highly anticipated debut of “Kid”. Coming in with huge expectations, he clinched after few striking battles. He got the double leg, passed to side control and pounded Valencia out. He made it look easy. Bruce Buffer: Ladies and Gentleman, referee stopped this contest after 4 minutes and 3 seconds of the very first round declaring the winner by TKO…Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto ! *Average* Paul Taylor vs Gabe Ruediger Round 1 – Taylor using his striking advantage for the first part of the round. Avoided one takedown, but when started striking from the pocket, Ruediger took the advantage and got the takedown. Taylor quickly scrambles back up. Round 2 – Taylor dominated this round. Used his striking, with addition of some nice flashy moves such as spinning back kick. Avoided 3 takedowns and striked again. Almost a 10-8 round. Round 3 – Recap of Round 2 Bruce Buffer: Ladies and Gentleman, after 3 round of fighting we go to the judges scorecards for the decision. All three judges score it 30-27 for your winner by Unanimous Decision…”Relentless” Paul Taylor ! *Decent* UFC IS LIVE ON SPIKE FOR THE FREE PRELIMS !!! Michihiro Omigawa vs Chad Mendes Round 1 – Pretty even round. Mendes kept trying to get on the inside. After being on the outside for most of the round, he was able to press Omigawa against the cage, but was soon taken down with a Judo Trip. Round 2 – Mendes tried for takedowns but was unsuccessful. Omigawa got a Judo Leg Throw. Mendes tried to scramble back up but Omigawa used it to get to side control. Round 3 – Third round was not even close. A little striking and a lot of clinch. Bruce Buffer: Ladies and Gentleman, referee stopped this contest after 3 minutes and 40 seconds of the very first round declaring the winner by Tapout due to Guillotine Choke…Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone ! *Decent* The opening video plays, and the usual pre fight ritual with Goldie and rogan happens. Torres vs Banuelos is up first on the main card. Miguel Torres vs Antonio Banuelos Round 1 – Striking from the outside and from the pocket for the most of the round, and with minute left Torrest decided to clinch. Round 2 – After some big shots from Torres, a minute later Banuelos knocks Torres down with a vicious hook to the body, Banuelos tries to take the opportunity but gets caught in half guard. But they stand up quickly. The roles change as now Torres puts Banuelos down with a counter straight right. Torres smells the blood, and pounds away for the win. Bruce Buffer: Ladies and Gentleman, referee stopped this contest after 4 minutes and 10 seconds of the second round declaring the winner by TKO…Miguel Angel Torres ! *Fantastic* Jon Jones vs Ryan Bader Round 1 – Bader gets rocked early but recovers. He doesn’t recover from the vicious body shot he took just minute later. He goes down, and Jones pounds him out. Bruce Buffer: Ladies and Gentleman, referee stopped this contest after 2 minutes and 36 seconds of the very first round declaring the winner by TKO… Jon “Bones” Jones ! *Great* Jake Ellenberger vs Carlos Eduardo Rocha Round 1 – Striking for most of the round, until Rocha gets a takedown at the end of the round. Judge #2 scores the contest 29-28, Ellenberger. And judge #3 scores the contest 29-28 for your winner by Split Decision… Carlos Eduardo Rocha ! *Average* Rich Franklin vs Forrest Griffin Round 1 – Mostly a striking round with two unsuccessful takedown attempts from Franklin. Round 2 – A lot better round for Franklin. No unsuccessful takedown attempts, focused fully on striking. All 5 minutes of stand up. Fans should appreciate it. Round 3 – A lot of nice combination from both men, but Griffin might have stolen the fight in that round. But it went to the judges and we never know. Bruce Buffer: Ladies and Gentleman, after 3 round of fighting we go to the judges scorecards for the decision. All three judges score it 29-28 for your winner by Unanimous Decision… Forrest Griffin ! *Very Poor* (WTF I thought the fight was pretty cool) Anderson Silva vs Vitor Belfort Round 1 – A really close round, but two unsuccessful takedown attempts from Silva might have gave Belfort the edge. Round 2 – Some combinations thrown until Belfort puts Silva down with a counter left hook but is unable to capitalize as Silva recoverd quickly. He made a huge mistake by trying to get in. Scramble begins and Silva ends up in half guard. Unsuccesful Arm Triangle attempts and guard passing attempts. Round 3 – Shades of Irvin vs Silva. Body kick countered by punches. Belfort is down and Silva pounds away for the win. What a comeback. Chute_Boxe
Following a huge comeback, Silva's future uncertain Every MMA fan's question coming into the Post-Fight Press conference was obviously "What's next with Anderson Silva". That was the first thing Dana said before even announcing the buys and gate receipt. "I really have no idea on what's next. I was really pissed at Vitor that he came in overweight, but he still put on one hell of a fight. Silva came in overweight but was still able to comeback from defeat with a knockout. I really have no idea on whats next. 17,523 was the official attendance and 992,047 are the official number of buys for his PPV. Miguel Torres, Antonio Banuelos, Anderson Silva and Donald Cerrone earned the bonuses for Fight, Knockout and Submission of the Night. Another thing asked was will Donald Cerrone vs Cole Miller happen ? Answer is simple. "Yes. Donald (Cerrone) and Cole (Miller) are two of the most entertaining fighters in UFC. It all depends on Donalds Medical suspension as to when the fight will take place, but it will definitely happen. Who knows maybe the winner of that fight will see a title shot soon." Another blockbuster news was "Jon Jones will most likely be getting a crack at the championship." . The reason for most likely is that Jones said before he doesn't want to fight his friend who also happense to be the challenger for the belt, Rashad Evans. During the press-conference, Dana White really praised one man. Antonio Banuelos. "That kid is damn tough. Miguel Torres is a top 3 Bantamweight on the planet, and Antonio went in there and almost won the fight. He put Torres down. I see big things in his future." Another really impressive win came by Carlos Eduardo Rocha. "Ellenberger is one of the best up and coming guys in this sport, and Rocha came in and gave the fight to him. I heard people say that Rocha is not in Ellenbergers league, well what you got to say now ?" Another man that's future is uncertain is Forrest Griffin. "Sure, I want to make my way back to the title, but I'm willing to fight anybody" said the original Ultimate Fighter. "That's what I love about Forrest. He will fight no matter who no matter when. I love it."
