Doodeedoo
Love the game so far, just finished my first recruiting class and am going into training camp. The problem is that although I have 8 active WRs on the roster, it will not let me redshirt one of them. The ironic part is I also am running a smashmouth offense. I think even in the Run and Shoot 7 WRs would be enough =P.
Showtime
I think this is because, and I could be wrong, they have a (WR) bracket around their position. My understanding is that this means they've already redshirted once and are no longer eligible.
Doodeedoo
If you try to click on redshirt on a player who has been redshirted, the button does nothing. Since I can click on the button (and more importantly the guy is an incoming freshman), I know he has not been redshirted before. Basically after I click on redshirt player, yes, the game says cannot redshirt player because you would go under the minimum at that position. Showtime
hmm...and he's not a JuCo guy? then i'm stumped...waiting for the GDS gods is your best bet i suppose.
Tim Plum
A minimum 8 WR seems high. I'll pass it to Arlie. If a player has been redshirted his year in school has ().
DoctorJ
Yeah, I tried converting guys to receiver to give me more and I still can't redshirt a true freshman reciever because of the minimum. I can go down to 5 RBs and that's OK, but 8 WRs is still too low on an option team?
SkyDog
Yup. Same issue here. Already mentioned it to Arlie.
wareagle
I actually have 7 WR on my roster and tried to redshirt one and it would not let me. All other positions did not seem out of the norm, only the WR
Miral
You get the same message when you try to put a wr at another position, so its a thing about needing a lot of receivers on your team. Somebody liked the 5 wr set I guess :)
Dave Hansen
Have experienced the same redshirt WR problem as mentioned by others. In the 1.01 demo I was able to redshirt the SAME EXACT player that the retail version now does NOT allow. Same team, same roster for both the 1.01 demo and the full retail version. I was able to redshirt 10 other freshmen at other various offensive and defensive positions in BOTH versions successfully. Only the WR was not allowed in the retail version. Shaa
Glad its not just me. I've got 10 WR's and can't redshirt a one of them. I even started a new league and tried all the different philosophies to see if that was it.
Trammiker
I can confirm that one. I changed one of my excess QB's to WR after I got the first message, and it still wouldn't let me redshirt one. My team currently has 8 WR's on roster.
