This game has the potential to be great. A couple of things need tweaked to accomplish this. First, the penalties seem to occur in bunches or not at all. The amount of penalties called in the game seem fine, athough when they happen seems strange, when I was playing a team, they had 7 penalties in the game, with 6 of them being on one drive where they eventually had a 3rd and 44. There seems to be penalty patterns that groups the penalties uneven throughout the game. Not really a problem for me, it just would nice to see penalties more evenly distrubuted. Secondly, The penalties are not always correct in regards to half the distance to goal penalties. Another thing with penalties, I was on defense. The down is 1st and 10 The offense ran a play for 2 yards with a 5 yard face mask penalty on the defense. The next down should have been 1st and 3, the game for some strange reason had the next play 2nd and 8. The plays that are on the game, work very well and the yardage gained against certain defenses seem very accurate. The only negative in regards to the plays, is there are not near enough of them. The computer ran the same draw play against me 25 times last game. This play was also very strange, poor hot read decision I guess Bowling Green ball, Q2, 1-10-BG8 (08:29) 14-12 Offense: Long Pass, Set: Pro Set, Play: PS-SE-streaks Defense: Normal, Set: Nickel, Play: Nickel-norm-DZ-B8 QB Don Wohlabaugh drops back to pass. He senses the pressure and checks down to his hot read.WR Bob Minardi makes the tough grab for a moderate gain. The FL did a nice job of breaking off his route and helping the QB.BG: Loss of 8 on the play. Bowling Green ball, Q2, 1-10-BG8 (08:29) 14-12 Offense: Long Pass, Set: Pro Set, Play: PS-SE-streaks Defense: Normal, Set: Nickel, Play: Nickel-norm-DZ-B8 The ball carrier gets tackled in the endzone for a safety! The timeout situation at the end of the game, doesnt work. On defense with 2 minutes left(3 timeouts), I stopped them 3 straight downs, called a timeout after each play. I get the ball back with 31 seconds left. Bowling Green ball, Q4, 1-10-BG23 (01:29) 24-20 Offense: Outside Run, Set: SingleBack, Play: SB-HB-power-RE Defense: Stop Run, Set: 4-4, Play: 44-run-Man-B6,7 Handoff to RB Junior Weinke. He looks for blockers, but it seems he'll have to do this all on his own. Big Hit by DE Travis Thomas! That short gain sure stung!BG: Gain of 1 on the play. Bowling Green ball, Q4, 2-9-BG24 (00:57) 24-20 Offense: Outside Run, Set: Shotgun, Play: SG-RB-straight-LT Defense: Stop Run, Set: 4-4, Play: 44-run-Man-B6,7 Handoff to RB Junior Weinke. They run a sweep that goes nowhere. Loss on the play. That run was doomed from the start. It's like the defense knew it was coming.BG: Loss of 1 on the play. Bowling Green ball, Q4, 3-10-BG23 (00:32) 24-20 Offense: Outside Run, Set: Pro Set, Play: PS-HB-pitch-LE Defense: Stop Run, Set: Nickel, Play: Nickel-MZ-B5,8 QB Don Wohlabaugh pitches it out to RB Junior Weinke, who drops it! He picks it up but is smothered immediately by OLB Henry Matson.BG: Loss of 1 on the play. These are just a few things I noticed. This is a great game starting out, I am amazed my the amount of detail and would buy the game for this price w/o the play by play for the other wonderful aspects it has. My suggestions are simply there for your information and what could make this an absolutely great game.
