Right now in my NOTBPW game currently in October 2010 Steve DeColt is a complete jerk. He won't put anybody over and as a result he has lost only two times both to Dan Stone Jr. After he lost each match I checked his morale and it said he was angry so as a result I gave him a crap load of money to make him happy again. The problem is that he will continue to not want to loose.

Has anyone had this happen before either with Steve DeColt or another worker in another promotion because it is really starting to make me mad.

Keep him happy until you can sign him to a nice long contract - or ignore this if you have such a long contract already -. Proceed to put him on an insanely long losing streak in a storyline - thereby pushing everyone else at his loss - and being completly buried and depushed, proceed to not resign him.

Weird, only time he's complained for me is when I had him lose against Dark Angel (an Upper Carder at the time) once. Now Dark Angel's a main eventer and he's fine losing to him.

I have played as NOTBPW countless times because they are my favoriote promotion in the C-Verse. This is the first time I have played a game with NOTBPW while having someone who refuses to do what I want them to do so much.

He's Steve DeColt... in DeColt Country... and you expect him to lose?

Craziness.

In all seriousness, people like that who take the whole thing too seriously tend to spend a spell on my B-show, selling hard for my undercard until their sense of self-worth has equalised somewhat. Having DeColt get into an (ultimately victorious, of course) feud with a bunch of your undercard guys won't do him any harm.

If he's a face, have him getting beaten down and ambushed by a bunch of lowercard heels before rallying to take them out (a la Cena and Nexus, Orton and New Nexus, Evan Bourne and New New Nexus...) is fine.

If he's a heel, have him mock and dominate a few face lowercarders who proceed to form a stable to equalise matters, keeping him on the straight and narrow.

DeColt's too good a talent to do that too, especially since his personality isn't THAT bad in the first place. He's not BSS or Joey Minnesota levels of jerk (I don't even recall him being a negative influence)

@Taker: If you want to kneecap his popularity have him win but get buried, that should keep him at manageable levels (don't do it too often) - sounds like the issue is that he's winning so much his overness is way above anyone else's - especially since, if I recall correctly, you tend to have your titles defended a LOT.

Definitely an option. Considering he's crying about losing to Dan Stone Jr, I'm guessing there isn't anyone more over and with superior momentum that DeColt would tolerate losing to? Otherwise, try and concentrate on building someone else up to go over him, multiple times... a best of 23 clean sweep perhaps? :p

I guess I didn't think that he would get so over that he would become better than everyone else. He was my first champion and during that reign must have gotten over in such a way that he won't lose to anyone. Knowing what I know now I might start this game over and book him the right way so that he doesn't get to much of an ego. I have always played NOTBPW the same way every single time and I have never ran into this problem until now but thanks for the advice.

Don't give up.

Use him to your advantage. Have him lose a match to a debuting star. This is a perfect chance to give a big boost to one of your young future stars. A lose to someone like Newton or Glenn might upset him, it should lower is popularity enough that he will lose to other workers without complaining.

TakerNGN74, for a guy that plays the game a lot, you sure seem to not know enough about how to play the game.

Have him lose a lot matches that he wouldn't refuse to lose. If he refuses to lose, book him to in the worst way possible. Have him win, but only by flash pin, disqualification, count out. Or have him cheat to win. Have him get dominated. Make the other wrestler look better, even as he wins.

Come on. This shouldn't be new stuff to you.

If you don't want to hurt Steve's feelings (whlie running that soul-less evil promotion :p) then you could try having him be dominated in his matches, only to get a flash pinfall and win. His popularity/momentum might take enough of a hit that he'll stop complaining about losing to people and then you can eventually lower him far enough that you can actually job him out on a regular basis to a bunch of people (who would likely still be above him probably) to help get his ego under control.

If you're looking for a monster to push, I recommend The Big Problem. He should dominate DeColt for a while and then you can make TBP the star he always deserves to be. :)

Dude its not new to me but this is the first time that this has happened He refuses to lose every match I put him in he won't lose to any of my main eventers so I am pretty sure that my upper midcarders and lower are out of the question. Plus how do you know how often I play this game are you stalking me or something?
