DarloKid Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Hi all, I played a real life mod first on TEW, now am about to use cornellverse which am not very to familiar with. Anyways who are the hidden gem wrestlers etc any tips would be much appreciated thanks
20LEgend Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 I'd look at snapping up Matthew Keith and Greg Gauge, Acid, Davis Wayne Newton. They are the first to come to mind
Bigpapa42 Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 That's a tough, broad question, simply because the CornellVerse is so broad and diverse. Location, product, and promotion size all matter. For a tiny promotion, the likes of Bob Casey and Thomas Morgan are awesome. For a big promotion, not as much. The foursome that 20Legend mentioned are great and should do well in pretty near any product, but that's not always going to be the case...
Emark Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 American Elemental, Fumihiro Ota, Steven Parker and Mainstream Hernandez can also be good pick ups for a small to mid size promotion. When Jesse Christian comes off hiatus he can be of value as well.
Lexa90 Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Giant Redwood, The Big Problem, Big Daddy Horne and Gargantuan. No? Why the hell not? Okay seriously... The Keith's and Davis Wayne Newton are awesome choices. atleast Newton... Awesome on the mic and a gentleman backstage.
Winter8905 Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 I'm a fan of Acid, Hell monkey and Uk dragon as well as the others mentioned above.
Boltinho Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Adam Matravers Petey Barnes Sergei Kalashnov (Cant overstate how good he is) Leigh Burton Ricky Storm Sharky George Daniel Black Francis DJ Reason
dvdWarrior Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Sammy Bach is my go-to guy for all things CornellVerse. I've also had a lot of luck with guys like Shooter Sean Deeley, Frankie Perez, Mikey James, Hell Monkey, and Acid. Thing with Hell Monkey though, (and most any other wrestler with a long history in puroresu really), is you'd need to be careful how you book them. That puro style puts their bodies through the ringer, and they have a real tendency to be kinda banged up. I try to keep The H-Monk off the house show circuit, so that when I need him for TV and PPV, he's freshly rested and ready to go.
LoganRodzen Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 The workers that everyone has listed thus far are great and depending on where your promotion is located you might be unable to use some of them. Instead of just throwing out some names for you I suggest you take a good look at all of the rosters of the smaller promotions. If your a promotion in the USA take a look at CZCW, PSW, MAW, NYCW, FCW, and RIPW. You'll find a ton of young workers who will work for meager wages and who actually have some talent that you can put to good use. When you go to each of these promotions roster screens make sure to use the 'Filter' feature at the bottom. This will allow you to sift through their roster and find the workers who fit your particular booking style. You'll be able to easily find people who will match what you're looking for as well. I simply suggest using the 'Filter' feature and you'll be able to find exactly what YOU want. I've spent hours tweaking what I'm searching for and in the end I feel like I have a fairly good understanding of the C-Verse because I've searched for A LOT of things. It's a truly great game world that's a ton of fun.
Kluge Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 The Big Problem.... no seriously The Big Effen' Problem
LordJaguar Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 The Big Problem can be huge IF you get him off the roids...I had him get 100 pop in my home region and no other promotion ever tried to steal him.
LoganRodzen Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Getting The Big Problem over isn't a problem whatsoever if you have a few workers whose 'selling' ability is top-notch. You can have him dominate them in matches and you can have him dominate your over workers in angles (using menace). You can get him to become a main event-level worker when it comes to popularity, but you'll never be able to keep him up there with his in-ring work. His steroid problem is just another crappy thing to add to his already long list of crappy things. He's best suited for USPW in my opinion. A stable with T-Rex, Tyson Baine, and Bruce The Giant would help him a ton I bet. Nobody could stop those four guys if they were united.
