thenatureboy1 Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Just wondering if anyone has had Taker lose a Mania' Match in there games. In mine it took 6 years where he beat Triple H, Cena, Kurt Angle, CM Punk, Sheamus before finally falling to "The Legend Killer" Randy Orton!!
sebsplex Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I ran a game recently where Undertaker lost to CM Punk at WM thanks to massive interference from Corre and the New Nexus (uniting the splintered Nexus faction) and inadvertantly John Cena and Rany Orton - Cena getting involved as revenge for Barrett costing him his title match against The Miz and Orton to prevent Punk from cheating his way into history by breaking the streak. In the clusterfudge, Orton RKO's the already beaten down Taker and Punk manages to steal the pin. I guess in this respect, Orton is the accidental Legend Killer. Immediately upon being pinned, the lights go crazy, smoke pours out, the video screens short out, rigged bits of the entrance set fall down as if the very fabric of Wrestlemania has been torn and nobody in the ring quite knows how to react. Eventually rises through the chaos like a dark phoenix, prompting a new direction for his character as a completely destructive force, indiscriminate in his rage as if his very soul has been consumed by evil. OTT I realise. I may have also recently rewatched the last X-Men movie and used the ending for inspiration.
Wicked Intentions Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I never really make it to Wrestlemania... either I quit the game and lose interest in TEW until the next version comes out or Taker retires before I can have him lose the streak.
Jericho99 Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 2 Years in, I had Taker lose to Bryan Danielson at Mania. This game was a while back, so in real life terms, it would have been the mania that just passed. Haha
Hollywood Hogan Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 In my real-life game, I started as the head booker of TNA in February 2010. At WrestleMania 26, in March 2010, WWE had Taker defeat CM Punk, R-Truth, and Edge to retain his World Heavyweight Title. Then in 2011, I jumped ship to WWE just before WrestleMania 27 when Stephanie McMahon took control from her father and was looking for a new booker. I booked one RAW and one Smackdown! and then it was time for WrestleMania. I had the Undertaker, still the World Heavyweight Champion, go over WWE Champion Sheamus and ECW World Champion John Morrison in the inaugural WrestleMania Champion of Champions match, in which all World Title holders square off in a match for a new tournament title. So in my game, we are almost exactly where we are in real life, and the Undertaker's WrestleMania win streak is still alive. Of course things could change, but at this time, I have no plans to have the streak end, nor do I have any immediate plans to have him drop the World Heavyweight Title, which he has held for over a year since he won it in early October 2009.
Zero Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 I am going into Wrestle Mania 29, and I plan on ending the streak. At mania 27 he defeated Brock Lesnar and at Mania 28 he defeated Sting so the plan is having my up and comer Damon Stryfe, who is basically the new Undertaker dethrone and retire him. Hopefully it goes well, I'm currently at SummerSlam, so only a few more months before Taker loses and retires.
James Casey Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Way back in 2005 I had Undertaker lose to Sean O'Haire, but nowadays chances are I'd have him go over whatever spare main event guy I have knocking around.
KrisKatana Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 In a 2001 game I had him lose to Kane in a buried alive match in order to get him back into his Deadman gimmick (I always hated the American Badass thing)
UnlikelyStory Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 The last two Wrestlemanias that I've run, Taker has been injured for the event so I haven't had the chance to job him out. Doubt I ever will though, as I have no idea when he'd plan to retire (would only end the streak when he's about to retire to put over a new star)
MJStark Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 I ran a game recently where Undertaker lost to CM Punk at WM thanks to massive interference from Corre and the New Nexus (uniting the splintered Nexus faction) and inadvertantly John Cena and Rany Orton - Cena getting involved as revenge for Barrett costing him his title match against The Miz and Orton to prevent Punk from cheating his way into history by breaking the streak. justtxyank Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Game I'm playing by BH (War Begins) Taker lost to Jeff Jarrett at WM 13. I proceeded to steal him away from the WWF.
KingofOldSchool Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 2 Years in, I had Taker lose to Bryan Danielson at Mania. I can see your game's headline the next day. "April 4: Daniel Bryan defeats Undertaker at Wrestlemania April 5: WWE files for bankruptcy."
CharlieCornell Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 I'm gonna steal that idea. Cody Rhodes beats Undertaker at Wrestlemania 28, and the stage collapses, it all sets on fire, The fans watch on in horror as Undertaker dissapears and we see that even Cody is afraid as Wrestlemania comes to a close.
Truth Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Way back in 2005 I had Undertaker lose to Sean O'Haire, but nowadays chances are I'd have him go over whatever spare main event guy I have knocking around. Sean O'Haire should have been a World Champion.
Jaysin Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Sean O'Haire should have been a World Champion. Hey, I'm not telling you anything you don't already know.
ACCBiggz Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 I probably will never do a diary or play a lengthy current day WWE game (too many shows and I don't know enough about the product). However, I have fantasy booked The Undertaker's streak in my head the past several years. Idea #1: Have a youngster like Ted DiBiase Jr. win the Royal Rumble. Instead of challenging the champion at the time he forgos the opportunity to instead go after "The Streak". The build-up can include how The Million Dollar Man brought The Undertaker into the WWF at Survivor Series 1990 and that Junior wants to take him out. I've went back and forth on if I'd have The Undertaker lose that bout. Idea #2: This is an idea I prefer as I love the visuals in my head. A little after Summerslam start a program with a character like CM Punk (and take away any stables because I would absolutely loath having interference being a cause of a potential WM loss). At Survivor Series book a Buried Alive match between the two. The Undertaker wins. After the Royal Rumble when it's time to figure out who he will face at Wrestlemania (it's also imperative to forget that he uses Ain't No Grave as his entrance music and pretend it's his old opening) have at a Raw "Ain't No Grave" play and a dirty CM Punk (or similar character) walk out as if he dug himself out. The Undertaker looks astonished and build the program from there. I think CM Punk is maybe one of the only characters on the roster to be able to pull off everything required: the gimmick, the ability to convey all the emotion and put on a quality and believable bout. The Undertaker loses there is a handshake and a sincere thank you from Punk who exits leaving The Undertaker there to bask in his glory to a standing ovation. After a minute or five The Undertaker turns off the lights and when they return he is forever gone, retired. The only criteria I have for ending the streak is that it comes to a younger worker who can be the figurehead of the WWE for years to come. Ending it to Sting, HBK, HHH, Cena and everyone along those lines just absolutely sickens me. If he will not be losing it to a young guy then I would never, never, ever have him be defeated at Wrestlemania.
20LEgend Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 I love the idea of him losing, the lights going out and him being gone forever that would be cool, apart from his inevitable HOF appearance
MrKain Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 I had Undertaker lose in 2014. He was 21-0 (his victories were in this order: Shawn Michaels (WM25, 2009, just like real life, 17-0) Triple H (WM26, 2010, HBK came back after losing at the Rumble, trying to help Triple H retain his title, 18-0) (At this point, I turned Undertaker heel at Summerslam, teaming with a newly masked Kane, and several Druids, debuting on Smackdown, suspiciously, at the same time The VerteX (Wade Barrett, Ezekiel Jackson, Mike Knox, and Vladimir Kozlov) does on Raw) Wade Barrett (WM27, 2011, after the Nexus revealed they were under Undertaker's "control", Barrett turned face, learning from Stone Cold how to take down the "New Ministry"... but failed. 19-0) Kane (WM28, 2012, Kane turned on the Ministry, with the idea that Undertaker's power doesn't stem from the Urn, but from the power of Wrestlemania, Kane fails. 20-0) Hulk Hogan (WM29, 2013, Hogan's idea is that Kane is right, but who better to take down the power of Wrestlemania, than what basically started it... Hulkamania... Hogan fails, and subsequently is fired. 21-0) (Undertaker is turned on by the entire ministry as after Hogan is fired, something about the two ultimate powers of the WWE colliding has set in motion the "end time" and Kane takes over the Ministry. Undertaker goes face.) Ted DiBiase, Jr. (WM30, 2014... Las Vegas. DiBiase breaks away from The Dynasty (Orton, DiBiase, Cody Rhodes, Joe Hennig (as "Perfect" Shawn Hennig), and Lacey Von Erich (their manager)), stating that he's learned all he can from Orton, and that there was one thing that he had to do... after defeating one-off appearances of Ric Flair, Terry Funk, Mick Foley, The Rock, Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, Kane... he needed to surpass his teacher. He defeated Orton, himself, at Elimination Chamber, in a cage match, saying Orton's "Legend Killer" role had made him a legend himself... then he challenged Undertaker, saying that his father brought him in, so who better to take him out... I made it in Las Vegas, so that when Undertaker went for 22-0, he busted. Ted is actually attacked by The Dynasty, due to the match being a street fight... though it is overbooked with several attempts at finishers that are kicked out of, and such. After the match, all the lights went out and a huge sound is heard. The house lights raise, Ted is seen under the ring lighting rig that has crashed to the mat, and the Wrestlemania set starts to fall apart... at the top of the ramp is a coffin in which the "dead" Undertaker is closed.) (After this, Ted was given a shot at the WWE Championship at Backlash (I never changed the PPV names), against Randy Orton, but Orton got himself DQed... I never finished the storyline, as after this I kinda stopped playing. I'm starting again, but as ROH not WWE.)

MrKain Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Really, Randy Orton? I'd drive to WWE HQ and protest if they had Blandy Orton beat Taker at Wrestlemania. I have to admit, if he would have won when he was booked as the Legend Killer, I wouldn't have had as much of a problem with it than if he had beaten 'Taker now. Honestly, though... I think if you have a good storyline, and have built the character up a whole mess, and the entire year before his match he had been on a true roll (like I did with Ted becoming the "Million Dollar Legend Killer"). For all we know, he built up a huge story between the two before that Wrestlemania, and it made sense to have Orton win. I, personally, don't see this happening for anyone that has faced Undertaker and lost already, but hey... you never know.

Mine is The Miz winning MITB and going after Taker instead of the title. The build-up would be The Miz announcing the match sometime around the Rumble, and having Miz say he has achieved everything people said he couldn't (Becoming a WWE Star, Winning MITB, Winning the title, beating Cena at 'Mania) and now he is going to do what no-one else could ever do...beat the Undertaker at Wrestlemania. But also like you im unsure whether I would end the streak.

BurningHamster Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Husky Harris wins clean over Undertaker every wrestlemania until the end of the decade. That is my plan.
