Well, trying to get more exposure for the backyard wrestling league I'm in. I'm also the guy behind everything creative. They're even making me name everyone's finishers...but anyways.

Trying to get more traffic to our website and facebook page since our first show is tomorrow and then following that we'll be doing CWRtv every two weeks with our special events thrown in once a month or so. Maybe its our obsession with the Hardy Boys, but we ended up trying to follow in their footsteps of OMEGA. We're in the ring a lot trying to get make things look better and I feel like our first major story line is interesting enough to keep people watching the shows if we can get the initial interest going.

Anyways, the facebook page can be found here and the website can be found here

Will there be clip on youtube of the shows

edit: As having seen the preview it looks cool.

Yep, every show we do will be on youtube. The preview was us just messing around. Two different matches weren't shown in it because it ruined spots for our first show, but our first show, First Strike, will be posted sometime in the next week. It has to be edited and announcing needs to be done.

Strictly for fun. No cost to get in. A few local bands have taken interest as well. Which is awesome to me since I'm majorly into music.

The preview video looked good, hope that transitions through to the full show/matches.

Out of curiosity what training have you guys had, or are you just learning by experience?

Posted
Preview looks really good, however I think you need to tighten your ring ropes and add some turnbuckle pads. Also for some reason the ring looks small...? Another thing...add some non impact moves to your action, you seem to lack the transition moves. Ref need to loosen up get in there.

Learning by experience at the moment. A local wrestler by the name of Facade has offered to train us when we get the money.

Yeah, the ropes weren't that tight that night at all. We'll get turnbuckle pads when we get the money. The ring is pretty small, 12 by 12 actually. Also, those weren't full matches. They're just random big moves from matches. The ref isn't a real wrestling fan, so he's learning as he goes.

As a fellow backyard/indy fed owner, I am rooting like hell for you to succeed. Will be sure to check out your full show when it's available. ^_^

Thanks bro. I'm pulling for you guys too!

Our first show was yesterday and it was pretty good. Not really a bad match. Main event was definitely the best match of the day though. We'll have it online in a few days.

Can't wait :D

Every match has been edited and the only thing left to do is to add commentary which we're working on tonight.

I haven't seen the edited matches yet, but we had three cameras going on and the different angles have been edited together into one video.

Got college in about 3/4 of an hour (better start getting ready :p) but I have watch the first match and thought Jaysin (who I presume is you) and Chambers worked well together, I liked in particular a few touches such as the holding of limbs during one of the submissions you did early on and in the pinfall at the end. I liked your finish, down to it making an X with the arms. The ending was good as well, really liked it, no issues but did I hear. Mr. Canton say CRW instead of CWR at one ppoint. Might just be my imagination, good start I'll look at the rest later

EDIT: Watched 2nd match, it adds to the comedy character (I think) and was not too stupid as it was an early match, can't say it was a great match, but no problems with it :D

Yeah Mr Canton mistakenly said CRW instead of CWR :p

By the time anyone noticed we had already started the match. I am Jaysin Xero(dude in the black mask). Thanks for the kind words :)

We're taping two episodes of our youtube show on May 1st

Up to the semi finals now, I'm loving it so far. :)

I'm glad you're enjoying it!

I'm interested as to who your favorite character is.

I just finished watch the show and I don't want to give anything away but I liked the ending and how it established the characters, the main event was really good and the best match, as it should be. As for favourite character it's difficult yet. I did really want Chambers to win by the end.

Will you guys be doing promos in future show as I think that will obviously help the characters. The Fallen are a great team as well really scary :D

I am up thru the semi final matches (and will watch the final pretty soon). My favorite so far wrestling wise is Chris Iron and personality wise is Woody.

Overall, you guys' skill in the ring is very high for such a small fed. You definitely give POBYW something to aspire to.

Thanks for the kind words. We were going for the sympathy route for Chambers. Him and Iron are the best two workers. I've improved a lot since we started doing this a few years ago, and Justin Payne is improving very slowly.

Promos are going to be more of a feature on future shows, we just wanted to establish our champ and first major storyline on the first show.

I'm glad you like The Fallen, its my baby and the driving force behind the first storyline surrounding why they're attacking Ryan.

Iron and Chambers always have the best matches. They bring out the best in everyone they face. Woody is by far the most fun character we have. I thought having Payne face him in the first round was a nice contrast of character.

I'm hoping that the longer we do this, we can improve even more until the point where we are able to get proper training and keep going with it. I certainly have lots of fun with it and wrestling is one of the only things in my life that I have any sort of passion for.

If I can dig up some UCW(our old fed)'s videos, I'll show you how we started out. We sucked bad. Hard work is really the only way to get any better and I know Ryan and Iron both spend probably just as much time working their day job as they do in the ring. Ryan is at the "CWR Arena" almost every other night and Iron is there almost as much.

My best two opponents are Ryan and Big D. I'm super excited for the next show. There's going to be a match between myself and Big D and we work surprisingly well together.

Thank you both for taking interest in this. Its nice to have feedback :)

Breaking News from the CWR News Desk!

On April 10th, 2011 CWR held its first show entitled First Strike. First Strike featured a tournament to crown the first ever CWR Champion. After three grueling rounds, Ryan “Duh Cool Guy” Chambers became the inaugural champion. He defeated the ****y Chris Iron in the finals of the tournament with his signature Chamber Music super kick seemingly out of nowhere. After the match, members of the CWR locker room joined him in the ring to congratulate him on his victory. The celebration was short lived however when “The Darkest Star” Jaysin Xero and Justin Payne attacked Chambers and Big D. The savage assault ended with Xero and Payne standing over the fallen bodies of Ryan and D.

We at CWR headquarters have been told that Xero and Payne are collectively called The Fallen and they made it clear they aren’t here for the title when Xero threw the title on Ryan’s beaten body. Neither Payne nor Xero were able to be reached for comment.

After speaking with Ryan, he has informed us that he isn’t letting this heinous attack deter him from his quest to be the best wrestler in the company.

"I came to CWR to accomplish one goal; to be the best there is. I believe I showed that at First Strike by beating the two biggest guys in the company to get to the finals. I know Iron, he is going to say he got screwed, or it was a fluke… but the fact of the matter is he faced two clowns… literally. Props to Woody for at least putting up a fight, but Doody... come on bro; you fainted before the match started! The Fallen or whatever it is they’re calling themselves, well they’re going to regret that attack. Big D and I aren’t going to sit around and take that ****.”

As of this writing, CWR Director of Authority Mr. Canton hasn’t commented on any sort of punishment for Jaysin Xero and Justin Payne, but has them both booked in matches for the debut episode of CWRtv. Jaysin Xero is booked in a Clash of the Titans esque match with fellow heavyweight Big D. Justin Payne’s match will be a rematch of his first round match of First Strike with Woody the Clown.

Will Xero and Payne continue their assault on the CWR? What will be Chris Iron’s reaction to his lifelong rival’s championship victory? How will Big D react to being caught in the Fallen’s crossfire? Who will be the first challenger to Ryan’s newly won CWR Championship? Find out on the debut episode of CWRtv!

I liked the show alot, for what you have to work with. Hopefully as you guys progress you will be able to afford things (using money you make) to enhance the show.

I hope you don't take this as being overly critical or anything, because I truly just want to give a few suggestions that I know you guys have probably already discussed 100 times before, but I can't help it. Take into consideration I have no idea what the budget is, or if you guys even have one yet.

Lighting and sound. Start small.... All you need to start is something to show the crowd where their attention should be. This also helps for anything you want to be a surprise, as by mid-way through a show the crowd of people will automatically be going where the "lighting" goes... Just one mobile spotlight (even if it's home-made) can help with this, and one person to man it (an alert child could do this). Other lighting like pinspots with colorgell's and such you would find most bands have for their stage, would be helpfull for intrances and endings.

Sound: It doesn't have to be expensive, but something that makes people sound better then trying to hollar or shout. Holding a mic and speaking into it isn't as easy as people think, as compared to yelling out in a crowd... but it looks AND sounds alot better. This should be a good Mic that doesn't recieve feedback easily, as it's going to be pretty close to the speaker's (in a bigger area that wouldn't be as much of a problem). Sounds like you already have speakers, building off what you have is fine, however you can do it.... Just a cheap dj mixer is all you would need to start with (around 100 bucks). A person to man it (can be the same one throwing on the music).

Finally... The ring. I figure this is what is affordable right now, so that's why I left it for last. I would improve on the other things first, then get to the ring.... the reason being is because all the rest will enhance even that small ring (and help hide bad wrestling). You need to get a bigger ring (obviously) and even if it's going to be on par with the one you have (looks like a big mattress, lol), you can "dress" it up to look better. I honestly like the fact that it looks soft, as I hate seeing stuff done on things that I know could actually hurt someone. You don't need anyone getting hurt at all, as it's not big enough to worry about people going to the doctor or emergency, etc... pluss, someone getting hurt would seriously hurt a show like that (if people were to notice). You don't need that right now. I'm sure there are thicker materials that can be used to lay down on top to make the matt look more professional though (losing the wrinkle's that make it look like they are on a pillow), and would help people to better walk on it. A little thickness on top, with the same cushioning below it.... bassically probably what WWE uses (only with alot more expensive equipment).

You said you were in charge of creative bassically, and I have to tell you that was entertaining. IF you had everything I just talked about, and knowledgable people to utilize it correctly (sound and lighting, better matt, etc), it would have come off really professional.

I also agree with having promo's and such, but these things take a backseat IMO untill you get the equipment needed to pull them off.

I've done lots of talent show type's (not wrestling, but talent contest such as dancing, singing, fun gongshow type stuff, and even a little Apollo Theatre type things), and what I've found works better then anything, is finding out what everyone brings to it, and utilizing everything (that makes sense to utilize) with everyone. A quick example: I was in a Battle of the DJ's, and all the DJ's combined their lighting to enhance each other as much as possible. If everyone is serious about trying to succeed (or at least having fun AND making a profit), then everyone has to have each other's back.

Anyways, awesome creation. Felt like a TEW game starting at 0,0,0, with product settings on Sports Entertainment with a strong Traditional feel, lol. This is what I picture my shows to look like when I start out like that.

Oh, you have nothing to worry about. You didn't come accross as overly critical or anything. We do have some lighting, but since our one camera is outside, the sunlight kind of makes spotlights unneeded. We're working on entrance lights, but the sun really blocks a lot of lights that we have.

We did have a mic we were going to use, but the person that was supposed to bring it never showed and then didn't answer our many, many calls. We just ordered two wirless mics that we're going to set up with my guitar amp for better sound. We really have NO budget, just two guys that whenever they have extra bucks throw it in. We have a tip jar we're going to set up outside the ring.

The ring was like $800. We'll get a bigger ring eventually, but this is what we're using it this for awhile. The reason the wrinkles were there was actually our fault. We didn't pull the canvas/tarp tight before we started the show. I know when I went to a TNA house show, I stepped in the ring to talk to Mr Anderson and take a picture with him the ring felt about the same as ours.

Our lighting and sound equipment will be be improved as we go. We'll get a DJ mixer eventually, we're gonna keep working with what we got until we're able to improve upon what we have.

I'm glad you found it entertaining. I'm really proud of how the show turned out. Thank you so much for all the advice. I've shown your message to pretty much everyone involved and we're going to take it all into consideration :)
