Tom Bombadil Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 I just accidentally had my champ lose what should've been a routine title defense at the Royal Rumble- console me. >_<
Eisen-verse Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 This is a GREAT idea, Tom. I believe we've all had these moments. The one that sticks out most for me was in a personal game when I accidentally booked Jerry Eisen instead of Jack Bruce in my SWF main event against Christian Faith. While Faith can pull a good match with anyone... it sunk my PPV. ha.
TakerNGN74 Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 In my last NOTBPW game (Which didn't last very long because it was when I put my FCW game on hiatus for the first time and later wanted to get back into it) I ran a show and had a match between Kristabel Plum and Lauren Easter. I booked that show last and meant to move it to the second match of the show. However after I booked the show I clicked on Showtime and ran the show and needless to say that show tanked with a womens' match being the main event. Had I payed attention and moved the match to second like I wanted to the show would have gotten a good rating however it got a crap rating because of what was the main event. I believe the show where I made that mistake was a pay per view I think the show as a whole only got a 38. Also Tom good idea for a thread I am sure there are more people just like us who have done things like this even if by accident even if they don't post in here they probably have done it in the past but just don't want to share.
BHK1978 Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Regrets I've had a few... Let me see I deleted my NYCW diary game. I thought I was loading it and for some odd reason I just deleted it when I was asked if I wanted to delete it. Much like Taker and Eisen I have put mixed up names and put crap matches in the Main Event when I meant to move them up to the start of the card. In fact I just did it recently in my FCW game (which I started playing thanks to Taker).

Irish Wolf Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 I've made mistakes like wrong person or match in the wrong spot. But if I just exit out of the game before I end the last segment on the show it will bring me back too the booking screen and I can just fix whatever mistake I made.
MJStark Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Lower card title + 4 no-body workers + 1 overthehill veteran + 1 actual good worker + Main Event slot + choosing win instead of lose for The MINOR ANNOYANCE = MASSIVE FAIL I was in a massive rush to get the show done, had those guys spare and was meant to chuck them in a pre-show dark match but forgot to hit pre-show in addition to the win/lose fail. Wasn't really worried when I found I had less time for angles than I thought, less to do right? Cornell vs Hawkins for the world title pulled a 92. Cornell celebrated winning the title back: 99. Six man match for the TV title: Mammoth vs Heath Slater vs Jared Johnson© vs Firefly vs Minor Annoyance vs Daredevil Aero: With those 2 segments before it it came in at 42 Show Overall: 58
DreamGoddessLindsey Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 This is why I keep auto-save OFF. That way, if I catch a mistake, I just reload and fix whatever error I made.
Wikked Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 I lost Ricky Dale Johnson because I hit end negotiations instead of make offer.... its okay I just extended his contract via editor.... SWF was cult anyway
Mr Rager Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 I've made mistakes like wrong person or match in the wrong spot. But if I just exit out of the game before I end the last segment on the show it will bring me back too the booking screen and I can just fix whatever mistake I made. I do this as well. I don't really consider it's cheating because it's not as if I intended to do something stupid.
Boltinho Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Several times mixing up Ricky Storm (awesome worker who the fans love) and Rick Stantz (OK worker who is a massive backstage pain in the ass) by typing RIC in the worker box and then not checking it properly. You'd think I'd learn right? Even crabs can learn.
juggaloninjalee Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 The only mistakes I made like this were having matches in the wrong order before. I also made my main event match a post show match instead. That kinda sucked tbh.
Gungner Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Having Batista vs. A-Train as my main event at a PPV (in a 2002 mod), because I forgot to click the "pre-show" button.
1234 Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 This is why I keep auto-save OFF. That way, if I catch a mistake, I just reload and fix whatever error I made. You dont even need auto-save off as long as you notice the mistake before you leave the show. My most memorable mistake was accidentally letting Pablo Rodriguez beat Rich Money for my World Title. While it wasnt disastorous, Pablo embarked on an 18 month reign, I didnt want Money's reign to end at that point. Another mistake I made was putting my Tournament title on the line instead of a World Title, so Joel Bryant is now listed as a previous winner after the accident. And I also forgot to put the Tournament title on the line in a proper final once, meaning there is no winner listed for 2000.
Remianen Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 I learned my lesson from previous TEWs so I don't have the 'match order' problem. I've been booking from the first match forward ever since. I gave a written deal (instead of short term) to several workers by accident (rolled the wheel on the trackball in the wrong direction ). I often bring workers in for tryouts to see how they work against people on my roster but I never want to give a tryout worker a firm, guaranteed deal.
James Casey Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 I learned my lesson from previous TEWs so I don't have the 'match order' problem. I've been booking from the first match forward ever since. Amen to that. Boltinho, I've done similar things in my diary game - mainly having referees and other non-wrestlers in angles, fortunately. It took me a long time to work out why my referees had momentum until it clicked. Now I just rename non-workers to something that doesn't cause issues - Eric Tyler is Mr Eric Tyler, for example, which keeps him from being booked instead of Eric Eisen.
The Masked Orange Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 While knowingly having BSS on my roster I accidentally ticked his box for the drug testing. Then I clicked the wrong button, and he had a strong dislike relationship with me and swore at me, this lead to me eventually firing him. Playing TEW at 3 in the morning has it's drawbacks I guess...
Comradebot Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 I "saved over" my long running RAW game a while back (that's the Aussie company in the C-Verse, not the WWE) with a version that was only a month in, rather than the year I'd booked it, when trying to transfer some saves across computers... And, other than that, I play with auto-save off just to insure I fix any of these mistakes. You wouldn't believe how many times I've accidentally had Henry Bennett instead of Herb Staley in a segment... but I can always just back out, reload, and have herb cut the promo. Problem solved.
ChrisKid Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Andy Gordy new 4C Champion, supossed to be Antonio
CamillePunk Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Well, mistakes like these are usually the only time I'll reload a show. I just couldn't see anyone making these kind of mistakes IRL you know? Well, maybe in WCW... For instance, forgetting to move midcard matches down the card instead of having them in your main event is something I'll just reload for, I'm not going to have a crappy show grade over a simple system error I made. Also just accidentally booking the wrong people for angles/matches... One rather aggravating and un-fixable error is when I deleted my TCW game instead of loading it.
TheOmniWarrior Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Many times ive clicked cancel when editing a match to make sure a title was on the line.... which has lead to like 2-defence titles LOL
Blake Trask Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 I once accidentally had Kiemon Yoshi... whatisname lose his newly won title to Haruhiro Tsememasa (or something like that) on the first defence after having him chase it for a year plus.
NWO4until01 Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 out of curiousity, why do people play with autosave on?
FlameSnoopy Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Fun topic. I accidentally deleted my first ever SWF game which was in September or so, and I had invested so much effort into it. Robbie Retro in the main event, Frehley about to turn in the expense of Christian Faith.. So fun game, so succesful, but.. I deleted it. And a lot of those accidental tournament title wins also. Thus why I always retire the tournament titles when they are not needed, then activate them again when the tournament comes up. Haven't had a problem since.
