MonoNaitch Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Similar to upsets thread but can be unlikely winning streaks, rankings etc To get the ball rolling, Cody Mckenzie - 4 straight wins against top 10 competition all by choke submission. Now 6th ranked lightweight in the world. Aoki won 3 matches by KO headkicks
Wehmer Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 I had a fighter go on an unlikely losing streak. He's a regen, and has the best stats of any regen I've ever seen. I hired him as a 0-0 debutant, and in his first five fights, he went 0-5-1. He was 2-8-1 at one point, yet I still gave him chances, because I knew of his talents. I was rewarded in the end. He's now in the midst of an 8 fight win streak, culminating in winning the FLB LW title. 10-8-1, #15 P4P, #3 LW. Looking quite unstoppable at the moment.
Makhai Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Ikeda 'Kid' Kenkichio stopped Takehiro Nakamura via strikes from mount in his first fight with KDM. Stunned me considering how apocalyptic Nakamura's chin, resilience and wrestling are. They then paid Sarkuno and promptly went broke. C'est la vie.
Paatero Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Posted this in another thread before realizing this fits the thread great: In my current '91 0-0 reset game from majesty, I had Elzo Alves Moura become a complete beast. In my previous games he's been a good gatekeeper to measure guys due to his all-round game with no stats going over 80, he's usually in the 60's-70's range with most, except he has a great chin. He joined Escola da Luta from the beginning of the game, and he's become a submission specialist, submitting 8 of his last opponents in taking the GAMMA Heavyweight title from Gary Sampson via rear naked choke, and defending his title SEVEN CONSECUTIVE TIMES by rear naked chokes, an arm triangle choke, a kneebar and several armbars. He's now #1 ranked heavyweight AND #1 ranked P4P fighter at 13-1. His only loss was a split decision to Hiro Arai, which he has since avenged via rear naked choke in the second round. His last five title defenses have come all in the first round, most notably against Gyokusho Fujimoto, who was 11-0 and #1 heavyweight at the time, and hyped-up challenger Gladstone Lopes in 37 seconds via kneebar.
Daffanka Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 I had Masahiro Maeno and Tomohiro Takeuchi battle it out for the ALPHA-1 lightweight title which was curious since both guys start the game as (top ranked) featherweights and both had lost twice to Li-Kong and moved up.
RingofHonorGuard Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Had Jose Aldo drop 4 fights back to back at featherweight right at the beginning of a new game. Dropped him down to Bantamweight and since then he's on a 12 fight win streak, 6 of those being Bantamweight title defenses. His last three fights have been the most remarkable in the turn around though. All three of them have been fights he's been losing and came back to seal it. He fought Dominick Cruz and got knocked down three times in one round, and Cruz just couldn't put him away. A 10-8 first round for Cruz. Aldo comes out at the beginning of the second round and puts him away with a flying knee. Miguel Torres pounded on him for four rounds, beating him in every facet of the game and then Aldo caught him in a slick Triangle Armbar literally out of nowhere. It was the only sub he attempted the whole fight. And then in his most recent, a rematch with Urijah Faber... I thought Faber was on his way to vindication and taking a unanimous decision win. Faber dominated the entire fight, especially in the clinch with elbows. Aldo didn't win a single round. 40 seconds to go in the last round, both guys are dead on their feet with exhaustion... Aldo clips Faber and subs him with an armbar. Funnily enough all of my lower weight champions(BW, FW, LW) are all on six title defenses. Aldo, Chad Mendes, and Cole Miller. And Cole Miller's story is the most ridiculous of them all. Since starting the new game Cole Miller is 15-1, his only loss coming to George Sotiropolous. Since that loss he's fired off 11 wins(8 Submissions, 3 TKOS), the most notable win being over BJ Penn who he finished in the first round with a guillotine.
