A year has pasted us by and many things have happened, new companies becoming stronger, celebrities becoming more and more interesting in wrestling storylines, and so much more. During these past few years it’s only been the WWF (World Wrestling Federation) that has dominated the sport of pro wrestling, and has really changed the face of what wrestling used to be considered. Never the less this past year however the WCW (World Championship Wrestling) has become a real threat to the status of the WWF.

WCW, now newly run by Eric Bischoff, has been growing almost unstoppably right up to the point where Hulk Hogan has been signed, along with others like Savage, Lugar (ect). The World Wrestling Federation at this point is in a let say, “depression stage” and is losing a lot of popularity they once had, and the main reason is because of this new promotion WCW. What was the real blow would be WCW’s Monday Nitro going up head to head with Monday Night Raw, not only was that a major hit but also in the few months leading up to the new year, WCW Nitro has been beating Monday Night Raw in the ratings. Ted Turner and Eric have quickly proven that they are set to destroy Vince McMahon at his own game... Competition.

Even though WWF and WCW are the real focal point of the wrestling world, it is a new form of wrestling that is turning heads, and that wrestling is done by a promotion called ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling) that features Hardcore, smash mouth wrestling that the 90’s generation seems to find incredible. ECW is quickly gaining recognition and popularity with fans in the New York regions. Also the wrestling fans are speaking loudly as some other wrestling promotions are taking some of ECW’s hardcore attitude.

So let’s set the stage of the new year of 1996, the year that could change everything, weather it be for the better of the business, or much worse! With more competition and this new revolution of hardcore wrestling era, 1996 is the make it, or break it point for the Mecca sports-entertainment world called wrestling.

Top Wrestling Promotions

http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac292/QFresh2/1996%20Mag/WWF02.jpg

WWF Owner Vince McMahon

WWF Head Booker Nick Bockwinkel

WWF #1: Vince McMahon's wrestling empire was built on the foundations established by both his father Vince Senior and his grandfather, Jess McMahon. While the origins of the WWF date back many decades, it was not until the 1980s that they rose to prominence, quickly growing from another territorial promotion to a world leader and international pop culture phenomenon. While the wrestling craze of the 1980s has died down, WWF have remained the most successful promotion in the US but are now facing stiff competition from WCW.

http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac292/QFresh2/1996%20Mag/WCW4.jpg

WCW Owner Ted Turner

WCW Head Booker Eric Bischoff

WCW #2: Ted Turner's WCW was acquired from Jim Crockett in the late 1980s and while the early days for the company were bleak, losing much of the popularity they had once enjoyed, WCW is now on the warpath. Headed by Eric Bischoff, World Championship Wrestling have recently made it clear that they want to compete head to head with the WWF and with Turner's financial backing they have been able to recruit a formidable roster. It was in September of 1995 however that war was truly declared, The launch of Monday Nitro in direct competition with the WWF's flagship show RAW has set off what would become known as The Monday Night Wars.

http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac292/QFresh2/1996%20Mag/NJPW.jpg

NJPW Owner Antonio Inoki

NJPW Head Booker Jushin Thunder Liger

NJPW #3: New Japan Pro-Wrestling was founded in 1972 by Antonio Inoki and over the next two decades would become the strongest force in Japanese wrestling, often staying just ahead of their main rivals All Japan. Billing themselves as the "King of Sports", New Japan's shows are based around strong-style wrestling. In recent times, New Japan have used working agreements with other promotions such as WCW, WAR and UWFi to trade talent and engage in interpromotional contests.

http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac292/QFresh2/1996%20Mag/AJPW.jpg

AJPW Owner/Head Booker Giant Baba

AJPW #4: All Japan Pro-Wrestling was founded in 1972 by Shohei "Giant" Baba and the sons of Rikidozan. Known for their gruelling physical style of wrestling, AJPW is just coming off a peak following their legendary run of fantastic matches in the early '90s. While All Japan has a fantastic roster and still consistently produces quality wrestling, the isolationist approach of Baba and a weak junior heavyweight division somewhat limits All Japan.

http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac292/QFresh2/1996%20Mag/ECW1.jpg

ECW Owner Todd Gordon

ECW Head Booker Paul Heyman

ECW #5: ECW was founded by Todd Gordon in 1992 as Eastern Championship Wrestling. Initially a member of the National Wrestling Alliance, ECW would break away from the NWA in 1994 and re-christen themselves as Extreme Championship Wrestling. From this point on ECW would promote themselves as a gritty alternative to the major promotions by utilizing a violent style known as hardcore wrestling. With a ton of momentum on their side, a loyal fanbase and some of the most action-packed wrestling in the US, only time will tell how far ECW can take the hardcore revolution.

X Jushin Thunder Liger

http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac292/QFresh2/1996%20Mag/JushinLiger.jpg

Thank you, mistaken I hope this will get some attention, also any other comments over the time I'm doing this is appreciated.

A Business Situation

Mr. McMahon got his chance to sit down with new head Booker Nick Bockwinkel to discuss what was in store leading up to their biggest pay-per-view of the year, Wrestlemania 12. Since Wrestlemania 11 was in many's mind a let down, Nick Bockwinkel and the WWF's staff must do better. Vince McMahon has demanded that if someone can't get the job done in his company they will be fired immediately! Such ego's as Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Sid Vicious (ect) find it a worthless threat and continue to only be "half good". Under new booking leadership of Nick Bockwinkel maybe things will change. Nick Bockwinkel has been called into question because many critics think the former AWA Champion is a suitable replacement as apposed to Ricky Steamboat who was originally meant to have the position. McMahon also stated in earlier interviews that the WWF is not going through a "depression stage" but a turning point to grow new stars. Say whatever it is you want Vince, but your ratings are the lowest they have ever been.

The Pro Wrestling Illustrated creators such as myself have chosen who is the five top talents in the WWF, and also who we should be looking out for.

http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac292/QFresh2/1996%20Mag/ShawnMichaels.jpg

Shawn Michaels for obvious reasons is number one, because of his in ring ability, charisma, popularity, and just all round connection with the fans is what set's HBK apart from everyone else. Shawn Michaels is the top candidate for the World Wrestling Federation title and the fact HBK hasn't gotten the ball so to speak is because they could be building up to something big.

http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac292/QFresh2/1996%20Mag/Brethart.jpg

Bret Hart the current WWF Champion is sadly number two, this could be a bad thing because if your top man isn't WWF Champion people could lose interest. Even still the best there is, was, and ever will be could be plateauing before he can really get started. Nevertheless the fact that his in ring skills surpass everyone else in the World Wrestling Federation keeps him number two.

http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac292/QFresh2/1996%20Mag/TheUndertaker3.jpg

The Undertaker stands number three on our picks of top five, this is manly because of his fresh gimmick and amazing connection with the crowd. The Undertaker is a talent that has never been seen before and just by predicting now, this is one character that can never be duplicated again. The connection the Deadman has with the fans is unlike any other, his agility, skills, and performance is unmatched by anyone his size at this point in the game, and definitely should be number three.

http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac292/QFresh2/1996%20Mag/ScottHallRazorRamon.jpg

The "Bad Guy" stand strong at number four, because of his great ring word and ability to both; get the fans exited, and when needed to be hated. When ever the Scott Hall(Razor Ramon) Steps through those curtains he will always get a huge crowd reaction.

http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac292/QFresh2/1996%20Mag/OwenHart.jpg

Lastly but not far is Owen Hart, now in my opinion Owen Hart is one of the best stars they have and if taken care of, will become a mega star very capable of holding the WWF title. Owen can talk on the mic, has the great psychology to hold a match, and can bring the A game on any given night. Even though he is number five he can go on to unstoppable success.

PG 20

The Big Things Of Tomorrow

http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac292/QFresh2/1996%20Mag/SidVicious.jpg

The thing about Sid is that even though he is a main event star in the WWF, he still isn't a focal point of the WWF, and I feel he could be. With the right manager and right storylines, the success of Sid Vicious could be huge. Sadly this isn't the case and Sid is not as big as he can and it`s holding him back.

http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac292/QFresh2/1996%20Mag/Goldust.jpg

Dustin Rhodes(Goldust) is the most bizarre character that the WWF has ever brought in, and surly enough it's that type of character that attracts this generation. Thankfully it`s not just his wired character that is pushing him through but also his wrestling skill helps get him over as a credible champion. I feel with all his attributes and his character will make him big in the future.

http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac292/QFresh2/1996%20Mag/TripleH2.jpg

Hunter Hurst Helmsley, is a Blue Blood that gets under everyone's skin lately and for me it's catching on. His slow walk to the ring, to his graceful bow he has inside the ring it's just fantastic. If he keeps this up HHH will become something special.

http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac292/QFresh2/1996%20Mag/SteveAustin2.jpg

Steve Austin(The Ringmaster) is one of those stars that just looks like he has the it factor. He's got everything it takes to become the future face of the company. Even though he has these great factors, The Ringmaster gimmick seems to be pushing him down more than upwards to bigger things.

PG 21

http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac292/QFresh2/1996%20Mag/rawiswarmysterious-1.png

The Royal Rumble is fast approaching and things are heating up. In the main event The Undertaker will take on Owen Hart, and with the entire Camp Cornette at ringside can The Undertaker pull off another big victory heading into the Royal Rumble.

The new Champion Bret "Hitman" Hart wishes to address the fans and what he plans to do this new year.

Lastly if you haven't been following Jerry "The King" Lawler has been consistently been taunting Big Daddy Cool, and is challenging Diesel to, and I quote "Show his big, stupid, ugly face out here!" Diesel has accepted this challenge and will meet Jerry Lawler this week on Monday Night Raw.

Prediction Time!

The Ringmaster vs Savio Vega

Hunter Hurst Helmsley vs Goldust vs Marty Jannetty

The Undertaker vs Owen Hart

I probably have all of these wrong, but i will defend my picks, usually I just throw down and let things be what they are.

The Ringmaster vs Savio Vega - several losses will percipitate a change in Steve Austin;s gimmick to something with more edge.

Hunter Hurst Helmsley vs Goldust vs Marty Jannetty - yeah I hate gold dust, but man can he get heat, this builds a Hunter/goldust fued

The Undertaker vs Owen Hart - Owen almost cheats out the win here, but in the end undertaker sits up and steals the win, though owen comes out looking much stronger.

A solid start mate, nice to have some direct competition for my 1996 WWF Diary, just a few points that seem a bit off like roster positions such as Lawler being a main eventer etc when generally he was more a mouthpiece for Isaac Yankem and wrestled quite rarely during 1995.

The other thing that i wonder is whether you watched wrestling during this time as on the monday night raw previes you talk about Lawler has been taunting Diesel when he wasn't doing anything of the sort as far as i recall unless my memory is a bit hazy

also my only other gripe is that you throw in a "throwaway" three way match when anyone correct me if i'm wrong but outside of possibly house shows the three way/triangle/triple threat etc had never been used in the WWF up until this point and would surely be seen as more special than just randomly announcing a three way match.

If you are going for realism those points are valid but if this is more set in some sort of other universe where nothing was like real life then don't bother taking on board the comments.

Also sorry if English is not your first language but you should proof reaad more, silly little errors like Hunter "hurst" Helmsley etc. put people off a bit sometimes

Whils ti'm here i might as well predict

Ringmaster over Vega - Presuming you know that Ringmaster hadn't officially debuted yet he needs a debut win....maybe should have been more build up to a debut for him

Goldust has to win the three way as Jannetty was on the way down and Goldust was massively getting over

Taker over Owen is a no brainer as otherwise any momentum heading to the rumble for him would be lost

Thank you very much for predicting so far, and of course keep them up.

To forlan comments, I love the fact you commented in the first place and you have a great diary yourself. I must warn you though, don't expect this diary to follow anything the WWF had in 1996, because this is just my stuff happening and yes there will be some "what" moments when reading, though hopefully in a good way. Jerry Lawler is indeed a main eventer in my game, don't worry I found it strange to. Also for the Hunter "Hearst" Helmsley I'm sorry I can't believe I didn't see that. Anyway this is meant to be a very different type of WWF, and I am happy people are interested all ready. Thank you very much for reading and keep it coming.

From Worcester Centrum

Monday January 1st, 1996

<iframe title="YouTube video player" width="30" height="29" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/i5FqLNCvi-I" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Vince McMahon: Welcome everyone to Monday Night Raw we are coming to you from Worcester, Massachusetts and what a show we have set for you tonight. Hello I'm Vince McMahon, alongside Jim Ross and Doc Hendrix.

Jim Ross: Thank you Vince, the show we have for you is jam packed with action, just like our highlighted main event, the phenom, The Undertaker will take on Owen Hart with Camp Cornette at ringside.

Doc Hendrix: No matter what, Owen Hart will prove what he has proved time and time again, that he is the "King Of Hearts".

<iframe title="YouTube video player" width="30" height="29" src="
frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Bret Hart walks to the ring with his new championship to a great reaction. As he steps into the ring he holds his belt up high and begins to speak.

Bret Hart:
I would first like to thank everyone for coming here tonight! Now I also want to thank each and every one of you because you have stood by me from the beginning of my career and I need to say thank you for that.

The fans cheer Bret in approval.

Bret Hart:
And you know, this belt means a lot to me personally, but it means more when the fans you love respect you so much and I just need to say from the bottom of my heart, I love you all.

Bret begins to cry as the fans cheer and chant his name.

<iframe title="YouTube video player" width="30" height="29" src="
frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Shawn Michaels walks to the ring and to a mixed reaction for interrupting this special time. He actually mocks Bret a little before taking the mic from Bret.

HBK:
Well, well, well, Bret "Hitman" Hart! You say all these things, and trust me they sound wonderful. Only thing is that by the end of the day, they don't mean anything from you.

The fans have a more stunned reaction as Bret takes the mic back.

Bret Hart:
OK Shawn, I can since tension between you and I, is it because your jealous of me Michaels? Or could it be that deep down inside of you, you know I'm better than you are?

The fans chant "who's the best?" as HBK grabs the mic not looking interested.

HBK:
Hahahahaha! Very funny Bret, but let me tell you this... At the Royal Rumble I will win for the second time, back to back, then I will walk the aisle at Wrestlemania 12 and we'll see just who's the better man!

As they stare holes in each other a sudden scream from the crowd trigger the arrival of one Razor Ramon who runs in and lays out both Bret and Shawn. Just before leaving Razor turns to the fallen stars and gives a sick smile as we then cut to commercial.
78

The Ringmaster
vs Savio Vega

A good match but because there wasn't any chemistry between the two the match couldn't flow as well as it should have. Nevertheless The Ringmaster picks up the victory after a perfectly timed Stunner to get the three.
53

Hunter Hearst Helmsley
vs Goldust vs Marty Jannetty

Goldust would be the one to shine in this match even though he couldn't get the win. It was his weird and arrogant ways that would have Jannetty hit a dropkick over the top. Then HHH would hit a Pedigree for the quick win.
61

<iframe title="YouTube video player" width="30" height="29" src="
frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Jerry Lawler walks down mic in hand as he taunts the fans with some cheesy jokes as he walks into the ring. The fans then chant Burger King before Lawler begins to speak.

Jerry Lawler:
Be thankful that tonight you get to witness a real King! Now don't worry I understand you people are very poor that a mouse is doing better then you! Haha! But relax because you are going to get a little lesson on begin a great King like Jerry Lawler.

The fans boo and chant for Diesel to arrive.

Jerry Lawler:
you really think he's going to show up? You people are real big idiots aren't you? Big disappointments to your mother and father! Diesel has shown us week in, and week out that he is scared of me! A true man like me would fight him in a blink of an eye, but no, not Diesel, he is a big coward.

Soon Diesel's music hits and fans go wild for the former champion, moments go by with no sign of Diesel and the music stops and fans boo. Jerry Lawler with a large smile on his face, laughs and talks some more.

Jerry Lawler:
You didn't believe me, well look around, where is he? I told you he is nothing but a big, fat, stupid...

<iframe title="YouTube video player" width="30" height="29" src="
frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Diesel comes walking quickly down to the ring as Lawler stands tall. Once Diesel is in the ring however, the King backs off and steps out of the ring.

Diesel: Big surprise here, you take the time to taunt me, make fun of these fans, and also challenge me to show up but yet it's you who is scared of me.

Jerry Lawler:
Shut up Diesel! I'm not afraid of you I'll fight you... But only on my terms.

Diesel: Just name them King, and I will fight you.

Jerry Lawler:
Good to hear Diesel, at the Royal Rumble, fit for a King by the way, I will get a partner, much like you will, and we have a tag team match at the pay-per-view.

Diesel: You got it King... Or should I say Burger King!
74

<iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="
frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

A Sid promo hyping him for next week
95

<iframe title="YouTube video player" width="30" height="29" src="
frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Vince McMahon: Oh my and The Undertaker is heading to the ring for the main event match up.

Doc Hendrix: I'll tell you McMahon, this monster scares me and Paul Bearer doesn't keep me at ease either.

Jim Ross: No matter the circumstances Owen Hart will face The Undertaker. The main event is up next don't go away!

Match Of The Night
The Undertaker
vs Owen Hart/with Camp Cornette

The match of the night and for good reason, the chemistry these men had no one else was necessary to be involved. This was not the case as Jim Cornette would try to get involved but would receive a chokeslam for his troubles. Then Owen Hart would run at The Undertaker, but Taker would side step and Owen would run into the Bulldog to set up the Tombstone for the three count win.
86

The Undertaker after the match would try to shake hands with Owen but would suffer a slap, Owen would then run up the ramp to end the show.

This weeks Monday Night Raw will be a huge one as we have three big matches set. A mini tournament will take place to decide who will face Bret Hart for the WWF title at the Royal Rumble. In the main event Shawn Michaels will take on Razor Ramon to get a shot at either The Undertaker or Jerry Lawler next week.

As you should know Jerry "The King" Lawler will face The Undertaker in the co-main event.

And the last major thing on this weeks card is the it will be brother vs brother on Raw because Owen Hart will go one on one with WWF Champion Bret Hart! This and more on Raw!

Jim Ross: I have no idea, he told me earlier today that he would be announcing something big and that we should listen up.

<iframe title="YouTube video player" width="30" height="29" src="
frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Jim Ross: Hey... Wait a second, that's Rick Rude... The Ravishing one is back in the WWF!

Vince McMahon: I can't believe it Jim, but why is he here in the World Wrestling Federation?

Rick Rude grabs the mic and tells people to shut up as he begins to speak.

Rick Rude: To all those, rock living, disappointing people that don't know who I am, I am the sexiest man alive! But more then that I am the new voice of the WWF!

The fans Boo as Rick Rude laughs at the fans.

Rick Rude: I don't care how you people feel, learn to love it because the greatest thing to happen to the WWF has arrived. Hit my music!

Rick Rude heads to the table as he gives the cold shoulder to both Vince and Jim Ross then sits down. Razor Ramon heads to the ring shortly after, Razor is met with loud boos but the bad attitude of Razor just laughs it off.

Razor Ramon: I guess that you people don't like me.(Boos) But i don't understand why, you see I did the right thing last week. I stopped that cry baby Bret Hart, and the "Sexy Boy" from having a cat fight! Who here wanted to see that.

You suck chants begin and just get louder and louder.

Razor Ramon: Can we shut up a second? (Boos) You know, Bret, and Shawn have been in the spotlight for far to long, and what about me? I'm left in the dirt watching others grow stronger and stronger in the WWF. Well I've had enough, the only way to get to the top of the WWF, is to put everyone else down! At the Royal Rumble, I will be the new WWF Champion. Bret Hart get ready, shine up my title because I want the gold.

<iframe title="YouTube video player" width="30" height="29" src="
frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Bret Hart comes out and the fans go wild waiting to see a fight between the two, just before Bret starts walking down, from behind comes Shawn Michaels pushing Bret out the way, then it would be a HBK, Razor Brawl with WWF staff rushing out to stop the fight, but to no avail, Raw would cut to break before the fight could end.

A tremendous match put on display tonight, and a great first match to start Raw! A true submission match and a test of athletic ability that would end with a reversal of a Sharpshooter by Owen to a Sharpshooter by Bret for a submission victory. 78

Winner By Submission: WWF Champion Bret Hart

Owen still hurting inside the ring, suddenly darkness fills the arena as The Undertaker's music hits Owen tries to get up, but The Undertaker manages to get in the ring and picks Owen up for a Tombstone, as Owen is lifted he escapes trough the back door leaving Undertaker very angry.

Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Goldust made a good team that really took it to the Smokin Gunns. These four men had a solid match that would end with Goldust hitting the Curtain Call for the three count victory. 61

Winners By Pinfall: Goldust & Hunter Hearst Helmsley

The Ringmaster and Ted Dibiase walk to the ring and both look unhappy, Ted grabs the mic and pushes The Ringmaster to the side as he speaks.

Ted Dibiase: Look at you Ringmaster, just look at what your ego has brought for the Million Dollar Corporation! Sid attacked you on Superstars and frankly I don't blame him!(Boos for Ted) Do you understand that you are nothing without us? Let's face it, if you weren't with us, just where would you be? A useless shell.(Boos) So Ringmaster, what you are going to do is, you are going to apologize to Sid right now!

<iframe title="YouTube video player" width="30" height="29" src="
frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Sycho Sid walks to the ring and steps over the top towering over The Ringmaster.

Ted Dibiase: Go ahead and do it.

The Ringmaster looks at Ted and back at Sid.

Sycho Sid: You better just do the right thing before I have to teach you a lesson!

The Ringmaster: You want and an apology, well then before I do that you need to have this.

The Ringmaster stuns Sid in the center of the ring and turns his attention to Ted!

The Ringmaster: You know, Ted you gave me the name of The Ringmaster, I don't like that name because it isn't my own. My name is Steve Austin, and you Ted... Can eat this...

Another Stunner is hit but this time on Ted Dibiase leaving them both down Steve Austin walks away with loud cheers.

The match was great for many reasons, there was a beautiful flow to it because the chemistry was perfect. Jerry Lawler would try to get the best of the Deadman but in time, a Tombstone would signify the end moving The Undertaker to the next round. 80

Winner By Pinfall: The Undertaker

Jim Ross: What a night so far and it's now time for the main event.

Vince McMahon: That's right, we just seen The Undertaker move on and it's now time to decide who will he face next week.

Jim Ross: It will either be Shawn Michaels or Razor Ramon, for this the bad blood is high and it will be settled tonight, don't go away the main event is next on Raw.

The Match Of The Night Goes To

http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac292/QFresh2/1996%20Mag/ScottHallRazorRamon.jpg vs http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac292/QFresh2/1996%20Mag/ShawnMichaels.jpg

An incredible performance by these two, that told a story that really brings back memories from Wrestlemania 10. Shawn Michaels did some great moves that had Razor on the ropes a lot of the match but it wouldn't be until Razor ducked a Sweet Chin Music hitting the ref that things would go bad for HBK. Razor with a quick low blow dropped the Heartbreak Kid and Razor rolled out for a chair. Coming back into the ring Razor hit Shawn over the head with the chair busting him open! The ref would soon get back into the ring as Razor went for the cover... 1... 2... NO!!! only two as Razor goes nuts! It wouldn't be until a nicely timed Razors Edge that the match would be over. 85

Winner By Pinfall: Razor Ramon

Some Major Events

Some major events happened this past week in the world of wrestling and in this issue of Pro Wrestling Illustrated we will go through all the new happenings in wrestling today.

http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac292/QFresh2/1996%20Mag/WM12-WRESTLEYOURWAY.png

WWF's biggest event of the year Wrestlemania 12 is fast approaching and for weeks Vince McMahon and the WWF staff (Mainly Nick Bockwinkle) have been trying to set in stone a location for the event. It was announced yesterday that the event will take place at the Pontiac Silverdome, the famous destination for Wrestlemania 3! Even though the WWF is going through a "depression" stage, Vince McMahon seems hell bent on proving us wrong, and they are heading back to the Silverdome in March. Questions are asked, can they sell out the arena? Will they have a good enough card? I guess we will find out in the coming months.

http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac292/QFresh2/1996%20Mag/NJPW.jpg

The NJPW is quickly becoming one of, if not the strongest force in wrestling today. The head booker of NJPW has been in constant contact with both WCW's and WWF's top stars, and it would be just this Tuesday that NJPW signed Ric Flair onto their roster on a Pay-Per-Appearance contract! Ric Flair said it would be OK for him to move back and forth between WCW and NJPW, "and besides I love working Japan!" he stated.

WCW Nitro has been beating WWF Raw in the ratings for weeks now and Nitro ratings don't seem to be letting up! Just last week a good showing by the WWF still couldn't shift the power WCW Nirto has. WCW Nirto= 7.24 WWF Raw= 5.11 With this type of ratings gap the WWF is in some deep trouble and need something to pull them out.
