UTDFAN1408
After the recent purchase of Strikeforce from Zuffa, I wanted to try and take over another promotion on the game but every time i attempt a takeover I'm unsuccessful. So has anyone actually been able to take over another company?
Eyeball
Lots of times, but the promotion you want to absorb has to be almost bankrupt for them to accept your offers. Once a company is in financial trouble, you will get a news story saying so on the Blurcat website. Wait a little longer and you will get a "company close to bankruptcy" news story and they will then accept your annexation offering. If you really want to force a takeover, I guess you could cheat and edit the $$$ of a company to a negative value in the in-game editor and then take them over, but I haven't tried that myself. jesterx7769
You still have to wait for the financial trouble news article. You cannot simply give them -$1,000,000 and take them over the next day.
UTDFAN1408
So do I just have to wait for a company to start losing, or can I affect it by signing their best fighters, counter promoting their cards etc?
majesty95
So do I just have to wait for a company to start losing, or can I affect it by signing their best fighters, counter promoting their cards etc? It wouls stand to reason that if they had no fighters anybody wanted to see they would eventually start losing money. It may take awhile though as low level regional promotions don't need much to stay affloat.

They will likely fall to regional before the go broke...
Makhai
So do I just have to wait for a company to start losing, or can I affect it by signing their best fighters, counter promoting their cards etc? Counter promotion does nothing as all cards are judged on their own merits and not based on nightly battling or such foolishness. Signing their best fighters would hurt them, but they'll just run fewer cards and the only people you'll be hurting are the fighters your not signing. It's a huge problem with this game, promotions can't really rival each other. can low level national ranked promotions be bought out, cus in my diary i keep on seeing DREAM fall in rank but they never go into bankrupt, even though i am waiting for them to Ranking just shows their competitive power with other promotions. It is not a gauge to the commercial success of the promotion at large. Could just mean they're running shows with lesser talent and making boatloads.
