Do fighters evolve

Recommended Posts

They do, and sometimes you even see dramatical changes in their styles. Elzo Alves Moura has become a black belt-level submission artist in my game, while normally he's a well-rounded fighter in the 60's or 70's in almost every skill and a great chin.

Also, Tora Mizwar has become a well-rounded beast with top notch wrestling, big power and great kicks. Dexter Darling has started using submissions and racked up a couple of submission victories, whereas in my earlier games he's never finished one.

These are just examples, they are usually longer-term changes, and usually it depends on the camp they're in. Elzo Alves Moura in my game has been with Escola da Luta since his career began, so that explains his jiu-jitsu prowess.

Pay attention to which camp guys go to. If your top prospect goes to a crappy camp, or one not conducive to improvement, temper expectations. On the same token if a mid-20s mid-level fighter goes to a high-level camp start feeding him guys he can run game on.

Development seems to be based on momentum, their camps and their destiny stat. Without the belt system from WMMA 2 it's a lot harder to spot sweeping improvements. But trust me, it's just as pervasive as any other WMMA game.
