TLLK
When it comes to venues and C-Verse games, I've run into a little dilemma. The default data is just too small for me, there are not enough venues per area. I mean, yes, this is cosmetic...as far as I know, it doesn't matter if you have shows at the same exact venue over and over and over...but it just bugs me. Someone once told me to download RW locations and use that...and it worked for a while. But my creativity and OCD kicked in. I mean, how could a 70's C-Verse event be held in a brand-spankin' new venue like Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis or the new Auburn Arena down the road from where I live? (And, once, for AAFW, my perfect size venue and location, Florida, happened to be the TNA iMPACT Zone. Still wouldn't give in.) I know this is just me being nit-picky, but has anyone else ever done more custom, C-Verse locations/venues? And if not, would anyone be interested in it or helping me work on it? I was thinking about having a few >300 venues, probably one or two (maybe three) per state inside an area, about the same for 300-1000, etc. This would give me a chance to do a little "modding" and help out the default C-Verse data. So, like I said...does this make sense? Would anyone be interesting in using it/helping with it?
Howie
I'd would definatly use it! I also find that using the same venues over & over annoying. I made a few venues for the U.S & Canada a while back but that was for 2008 and about 2 computers ago. I'd help out a little bit to if it would help get the ball rolling
Mr T Jobs To Me
This would be a very cool idea. I always wanted to do a little changing around of the U.S. venues, some of the larger arenas are in nonsensical places (New Hampshire, Missouri, Utah) and I think a variety in capacity and a few extra mid-range and small arenas in population dense areas would be a good thing, even if it's more of window dressing than necessary. And for the '77 mod, should I ever get the itch to update it, it would be nice to have venues that fit the time period.
TheEffect
It would add more realism to the game which I always like, so yeah I would use it.
TLLK
Great, great, great. Exactly what I wanted to hear. I'll do some research, get to learn the current set fully...keep the ones that make sense to me, maybe even edit those a bit...and start on new ones. I'll use this thread to keep everyone up to speed. Canada, Mexico, UK, Europe, Australia, Japan...basically everywhere but the US. Would anyone like to help out with that? Because all I really know geographically is America. So if anyone of you could do one of those areas, that would just expand this.
dvdWarrior
I'd definitely love to see a few more locations added to the default data, I'm all for that. I'm probably a little too preoccupied these days to actually volunteer myself, but if possible I'd like to submit a few of my own for consideration: Peach Tree Fields - South East USA - 50,000 - The 'Rolling Fields of the South East', Peach Tree Fields is home to baseball's Georgia Barons. The Hog Pen - South East USA - 300 - A rough and tumble establishment sitting in the backwoods of southern Arkansas, it's famous for wild crowds and even wilder fights. The Danger Zone - Tri State USA - 1,000 - Once 'Ground Zero' for Danger And Violence Extreme, it's the hottest hotbed around when it comes to hardcore wrestling. Been using those for years, (all matched up to the standard CornellVerse specs of course). They've become a couple of my favorites. I actually envisioned that last one as an 'ECW Arena' for the CornellVerse.
Boltinho
you know in all this time Ive never done any real sort of modding for TEW. Be happy to help on the UK and European side
SWIFT
You're welcome to use the venues from the "Painkiller" and "British Steel" CV mods I did for 08. I added a number of venues for the big three wrestling countries (US, Japan, and Mexico) with a few for Canada. I converted them over and have updated them with the actual seating sizes that TEW 10 allows. Really the only thing that would need to be worked on are the UK, Europe, and Australia. I didn't do venues for those since I turned them off. I think I added some 270 venues jumping it to almost 630. I reckon it would be nice to work off of it you'd like. I could get it to you later today. I always felt there should be more venues to play with. The default is OK for say very small indies or Mexican companies that frequent the same places for the most part, but when doing Japan or bigger US companies you'd need more venues--especially for journal purposes. MJStark
This is a good idea. I've often watched a touring promotion do shows twice a week for 2 months just swapping between the same two venues. I did a batch of small Japanese venues for the BEMod, no problem with them being used here j-small-loc.zip
shipshirt
I like this idea too. It's always bugged me as well but I figured I was the only one I can only hold so many PPVs at the H. Jones Building!!

In fact, I'd like anyone with a bright idea and some creativity to splash some in, just like dvdWarrior has done. If you've got one, follow this pattern: Venue Name: Game Area: Size: Bio:In the bio, be sure to include city and state if you're in America...city and province in Canada...and I'm not sure how the rest of the world does it. We can compile a good list in here and slap together a big ol' locations file! Who's with me?
TLLK
Look, I'll get us started with a couple from my home state. Venue Name: Daniel County Farm Center Game Area: South East USA Size: 2,000 Bio: Located in the small town of Cotton Creek, Alabama, the Daniel County Farm Center has been hosting rasslin' events for over forty years now. Once a mainstay for local territories, the DCFC hasn't seen much action in recent years. Known for its rowdy crowd and low teeth count. Venue Name: Robinson-Porter Memorial Coliseum Game Area: South East USA Size: 25,000 Bio: A brand-new, state of the art college basketball venue built for the Alabama Tech Eagles. Has already hosted a SWF house show and an episode of USPW American Wrestling during the Eagles' off-season, already a hit with wrestlers and fans alike. Venue Name: Dream Street Rib House Game Area: Southeast USA Size: 250 Bio: Located on the river in the downtown area of Alabama's capital city, the Dream Street Rib House has hosted local events for over a decade now. Owner is a lifelong wrestling fan who loves suplexes and banana pudding, and everyone in attendance gets helpings of each. Venue Name: Magic City Civic Center Game Area: South East USA Size: 17,000 Bio: The MCCC has seen concerts, political conventions, rodeos, Alabama state fairs, roller derbies, theatrical performances, hunting and fishing expos, RV shows, World Indoor Paintball Championships, gator wrestling, and the occasional pro wrestling show. Whatever crazy and bizarre idea you might have for your next angle, don't worry. The MCCC has already seen it. Venue Name: The Danger Docks Game Area: South East USA Size: 1,000 Bio: Imagine a wrestling ring sitting on a platform in the middle of the bay, a dock connecting it to the shore. Seats dot the shore, and fans watch men beat each other senseless in hardcore matches, tossing their opponents into the bay. This is Alabama's premiere hardcore environment with a Bay Area twist. SWIFT
The data I converted is attached. Who doesn't like banana puddng in Alabama? Venue Name: Magic City Civic Center Game Area: South East USA Size: 17,000 Bio: The MCCC has seen concerts, political conventions, rodeos, Alabama state fairs, roller derbies, theatrical performances, hunting and fishing expos, RV shows, World Indoor Paintball Championships, gator wrestling, and the occasional pro wrestling show. dvdWarrior
Very good bios above, kinda inspired me to update my originals a bit, (and hopefully improve them a little). Venue Name: Peach Tree Fields Game Area: South East USA Size: 45,000 Bio: Dubbed 'the Rolling Fields of the South East', Peach Tree Fields is a spectacular ballpark sitting just outside of Atlanta, with room for 45,000 fans. It's home to baseball's Georgia Barons. *You could swap out Georgia Barons with Atlanta Flames if you wanted to go with cities instead of states for sports teams* Venue Name: The Hog Pen Game Area: South East USA Size: 250 Bio: A rough and tumble establishment hidden in the backwoods of Southern Arkansas (well outside of any city limits), the Hog Pen is infamous for its wild fans and even wilder fights. Venue Name: The Danger Zone Game Area: Tri State Size: 1,000 Bio: Once 'Ground Zero' for Danger And Violence Extreme', it was the birthplace of a revolution, and was sanctified by barbed wire and blood. Even today, it's the hottest hotbed around for hardcore wrestling. Hope those fit into TEW's text boxes, I didn't test them out just yet. Now, for a few newer ones: Venue Name: Empire State Coliseum Game Area: Tri State USA Size: 20,000 Bio: A classic wrestling arena sitting just outside of Albany, the Coliseum has been a hot-spot for TV tapings and PPVs since the 1980s, and, while never as flashy as the more modern venues around, it's always been in a class all it's own. Venue Name: Death Row Game Area: Tri State Size: 250 Bio: Hidden away in the deepest, darkest corner of NYC, Death Row is a seedy underground club that's notorious for violence and combat: a natural hot spot for bloody underground wrestling. Venue Name: The Core Game Area: Tri State USA Size: 250 Bio: A cavern of twisted steel in the thick of Pittsburgh's industrial district, The Core is a burning furnace of hardcore wrestling action, and draws in some of the hottest crowds around. In a small, intimate setting, wrestlers go back to the territorial days whenever they step into this venue.Venue Name: Battle Arena Game Area: South East USA Size: 12,500 Bio: The Battle Arena in Huntsville is one of Alabama's oldest convention centers around. Acoustics in this gym make for a deafening atmosphere whenever there is a sell-out.Venue Name: The Soaring Eagle Supper Club Game Area: South East USA Size: 150 Bio: Classic bar in a college town, The Soaring Eagle has hosted a few wrestling shows run by Alabama Tech students in recent years. Not the cleanest or best laid out venue you can none the less cram 100 paying customers around a ring on the function room dance floor. The venue has pros and cons: Pros: It has a fantastic backstage area for a venue its size with 3 dressing rooms! Cons: You have to carry the ring up a fire-escape! Venue Name: Darlaston All Active Game Area: Midlands, UK Size: 250 Bio: This local working mens club come community centre has been hosting wrestling shows over a year now and they don't show signs of stopping anytime soon. They hold a varied selection of events: ballroom dancing, bicycle karaoke… and wrestling Venue Name: The Griffin Game Area: South UK Size: 1,000 Bio: The Griffin is legendary in London as a pound-in-a-jar adult establishment. Due to the sheer size of the blacked out dive that pint pot can generate serious money. They do act as a sporting venue but due to its normal nature the fans expect certain types of ‘extras’. Venue Name: Pickled Onion Penthouse Game Area: South UK Size: 2,000 Bio: The 84-storied Pickled Onion is one of London’s most recognisable landmarks. Venue Name: The Otley Runner Game Area: North UK Size: 295 Bio: At the end of a road in Leeds is this unassuming pub that sometimes hosts combat sports nights for its bloodthirsty patrons. Venue Name: Commonwealth Swim-tank Game Area: North UK Size: 25,000 Bio: The Swim-tank was built for the Commonwealth games in 2002 but was only used twice afterwards. They’re so frequent that they need somewhere to hang out when not at work. TLLK
With SWIFT's data and my additions to Alabama's venues, we have 16 in the Heart of Dixie. We'll shoot for that many in each state...Florida probably will have 20...other large states will have the same. So, if anyone wants to give me some help with the rest of the Southeast (Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida), we'll get that knocked out first! And, to you European gentlemen, thanks for your help. I bet the quickest way for you two to do this is to make a blank database and put your locations in, then send the file my way when you're done. Sound good?
