I cant say for sure however if it is my stuff edited I do truly apologize,,,,It was not me.... I ran several turns at my friends house who is also a tew player I several times left the room with the game up and once came back to find him in the editor... i immediately asked him if he was editing anything as we occasionally do that in our own games he assured me that he didn't do anything and i took him at his word....if that is the case i do sincerely apologize i will post this exact message on the forum if it is me and will face any repurcusions this may entail.</p><p> </p><p>

So I did a quick check of WCW's contract expiries, and found out that noone of importance had their contracts due untill after WCW had ended the 6 month cooldown period... a very fortunate situation for WCW, which could of course just be pure random luck. But again, suspicious by nature as I am, believing that power corrupts (and the ingame editor is indeed easy to use and very powerful and eager to corrupt weak souls), I decided to investigate... so I found an older save from just before WCW went to cult... and the result was shocking: several workers have had their contracts edited. Big names. In fact, Randy Savage's contract should actually have expired by now and The Undertaker would be up for renewal soon as well. But in our latest save, Savage has nearly a year left and The Undertaker more than 6 months.</p><p> </p><p> Now I'm sure I don't have to explain why I was shocked, saddened, angry and outright disgusted by this: the rest of us have played by the rules and lost big names to contract expiry (especially AWA, who have been hit extremely hard) as a result - many of them to WCW, in fact. So not only has WCW been edited an unfair advantage compared to the rest of us, they have also preyed on the exact same weakness in our promotions that they themselves cheated their way out of suffering. So it's double despicable in my opinion.</p><p> </p><p> Now the reason why I initially did not explain myself was because I was hoping that rvd would come clean, so to say, and perhaps say something like "okay it was me, it was a moment of weakness, I'm sorry and I promise it won't happen again". So it dissapoints me even further to see that this did not happen. Again: I'm suspicious by nature, so I honestly find the story about the "friend" doing it a bit hard to swallow. Is it impossible? No, of course not. But it's extremely implausible, and I would have prefered an honest confession. This game requires a great deal of trust, due to the powerful editor, and trust comes from honesty. In either of the above scenarios, I think the right thing to do is that I, the next time I receive the save, edits the contracts in question back to their original state. For those already expired, I will leave a 7-day expiry so everyone - WCW included - gets a chance to negotiate with him/them (I haven't had a closer look to see if anyone besides Randy Savage fall under this category).</p><p> </p><p>

Now I'll go ahead and repeat what I have previously said: I find RVD's story to be a bit too fantastic to be believeable. But in spite of that, I am willing to give him another chance if that is the consensus to do - given that he will guarantee us that it will *not* happen again. Of course, I will in that case have to be monitoring the situation going forward. An annoying chore, I'd like to add - but obviously necessary. Cheating has absolutely no place in this game, which I'm sure most people will agree with. Trust is essential in a game where so much can be manipulated if the desire to do so is there.</p><p> </p><p>

As for option 2 and 3, I'm fine with those as well. Though I'd at this point honestly rather play with AI WCW than go through a lot of hassle trying to find a new player for them that may or may not turn out to be a poor addition to the group (yes, I am now unfortunately a tad bit more cynical). Wow. I missed alot. I need to be more vigilant on checking the thread!

 

Ok, well I'm of two minds on this:

 

If Hive and Jack were replaced wtih clones of myself I would, first of all, congradulate them on how handsome they had suddenly become. But immediately following the lenghty discussion on our mutual good looks I would go with route 1.

 

But Hive and Jack aren't me. Much to their girlfriends' dismay. (Pow!) And there isn't any point in continuing if Hive's not going to enjoy it.

 

So, I say we give this a shot. We keep on playing with RVD, since Hive said he'd give it a shot if both Jack and I were down. But if Hive finds he really can't get into the game under these circumstances... then we part ways.

 

But if Hive can still have fun, let's just keep going on with the way we have it now. I'm sure after this RVD will take every precaution to make sure nothing like this happens again.

 

We should reset the offending contracts. And for peace of mind we should all keep a couple of random old saves for comparison. All four of us check them once and a while so that poor Hive doesn't drive himself nuts thinking he has to cross reference every single save, knowing that there's four sets of eyes on them.

 

If you want to send me a copy of the old save you have, Hive, I'll take a look at it too and see if there's anything else that seems out of place compared to the last copy I sent off.

 

If for whatever reason RVD ends up leaving the game, I definately don't think we should give WCW to the AI, if for no other reason than there is no way to change my diaries name to "3 Corners of Chaos", that I know of.
