A recap of King Of The Ring, from RAW's perspective. It showed John Morrison prevailing over Vladimir Kozlov, The Dudleyz beating The best in the World, albeit by countout. Booker T beating his rival, Edge, Miz defeating Orton via cheating, the finals of the King Of The Ring tournament, which showed Barrett defeating Cena. Live from the The Dome in Lexington, Kentucky! We are one night removed from WWE King Of The Ring, and I am joined by the broadcast colleagues, Jerry 'The King' Lawler and Matt Striker, Matt?. Matt Striker: What a night it was JR! We saw Miz retain his WWE Championship, as well as his number one contender crowned, no pun intended, when Wade Barrett defeated John Cena in the finals of the King of the ring tournament! Jerry Lawler: You can't say he didn't deserve the win, I can't say that for Miz though, he cheated Orton out of the WWE Championship! Jim Ross: Also, Where does this leave John Cena? He's not in the title picture, so you gotta think he's focused on the Royal Rumble, and going to Wrestlemania! But, what was that mysterious video about? Is John Cena past it? --- Much to the chagrin of the crowd, Justin Roberts introduces the 2010 King Of The Ring, Wade Barrett! Is surprised I stand here with a crown, as the King of the ring, as King of the WWE... Empire? I am your next WWE Champion! I will beat the Miz at the royal rumble, I will reign as the WWE Champion for the rest of my career! Because that, is just a small part of the bigger... picture! The only thing that matters, is me. I'm the number one contender, and come Royal Rumble, I will be the WWE champion! The Miz: Woah, you're getting a little carried away there Wade! I'm the awesome one, and if I beat Orton, what makes you think I can't beat... you? Randy Orton: Beat Me!? Beat Me!? Miz has crossed the line! Orton climbs out the ring a storms towards Miz! Orton jumps on Miz and pounds at him on the ramp as The Nexus also flee the ring, Sting swings his bat, hitting Orton in the back! It says, and I quote 'I agree that Orton was, in a way, cheated out of the WWE Championship. However, Miz DID retain the championship, so, in the interest of fairness, Wade Barrett & Sting will team up tonight to face Orton and... John Cena! If Orton & Cena win, Orton will be added to the Rumble match, and it will be a triple threat!' Miz & Wade simultaneously go into a fit of rage as Orton, who has mostly recovered from his bat shot, smiles menacingly. He backs up the ramp, staring at Miz & Nexus, Tarver then motions for Miz to leave the ring, he obeys, but not before mocking Tarver. --- Matt Striker: Talk about a blockbuster announcement, John Cena & Randy Orton Vs Wade Barrett & Sting! Do you think Cena will be able to overcome his physical & mental block to beat them, or will Orton be carrying the team? Jerry Lawler: I really don't know Matt, I don't think Orton knows either! When you get caught off gaurd, and you get a 3D through a table, even the best in the world can be put down for ten seconds. But, if I recall correctly, you weren't exactly... awake. At the time I got the 3D. You were down as well! Sheamus: Don' make me laff' it wasn' me fault. If I was the one we wa' countin' on at the' time, I would take tha' blame. It was yer' fault Jericha' not mine! Sheamus pushes Jericho, who pushes him back, Sheamus gives an almighty shove, sending Jericho reeling. Jericho glares at his protege, and walks off. Sheamus glares at Josh, before walking off in the opposite direction. --- Jim Ross: Some major tension between the self proclaimed 'Best in the world' prehaps? Jerry Lawler: Who knows, but did you see Chris back down from Sheamus? Matt Striker: Back down? How do you know Jericho wasn't doing it to try and save the team? He's held nine tag titles in his career, with eight different partners. Jim Ross: Evan Bourne! One of the biggest prospects in WWE today! Such an exciting youth athlete, preparing to take on Ted DiBiase junior tonight. Matt Striker: You know one of my faviroute things about Evan Bourne? Using his 11 years experience, Bourne manged to counter a few key holds to get in some high velocity offence. But DiBiase still held a lot of the attack, but a simple slip up my Ted allowed Bourne to hit a dropkick and a 450 for the win at 6:21. --- Jim Ross: Impressive victory for Bourne here, as Ted throws a tantrum on the outside. Matt Striker: Don't blame him really, this type of loss really can stall your momentum if you don't get back on track fast. Jerry Lawler: Don't flip that switch! On one hand, I very much enjoyed beating some sense into my estranged student, Daniel Bryan. On the other? But, I can assure you peasants, that when he returns, he will be losing his United States championship... to me! William Regal. It is all because that bloody pillock could not show some damned respect to the man who taught him everything! In fact, I'm beginning to think he is bloody faking, to get out this match with me! There's no way to put it nicely, in 2001, in WCW, you were a big deal. Ten years later, in WWE... YOU'RE NOT! Booker T: Aw' Hell' no! Booker T and Edge start brawling before being separated by road agents and referees, they hold both men back as they yell insults at each other. Booker T: Six time! Six time! Edge: (Mocking Booker) Nine time! Nine time! --- Jerry Lawler: Ha! Did you see that guys? Jim Ross: Those two are definitely ready to explode anytime now, they really need to be kept apart! --- We are in The Nexus locker room, where Barrett is absent. Tarver is doing pushups, whilst Slater & Gabriel are practising technique on eachother. All four men had a good amount of time to showcase their moves and impress. However, after a distraction by Michael Tarver, which allowed Heath Slater to kick Woods in the crotch, Gabriel was able to hit his signature 450 splash for a tainted pinfall victory at 6:30. --- As Nexus celebrate in the ring, we go to our fifth commercial, when we return we watch an action replay of the finish. Jim Ross: They cheated! They damn cheated! Matt Striker: But a victory is a victory JR, and we all know this could take them a step farther to regaining the tag team titles! Jerry Lawler: No arguments here, I don't like it. With this, the Dudleys burst out laughing, stomping their hands on the table as Zack looks a little embarrassed, and doesn't know what to do, so he starts to fist pump furiously whilst talking! Zack Ryder: It's on bro! how about I find myself a partner, and Long Island Iced Z takes those belts from you. Woo Woo Woo, You Know It! Bubba, is still laughing, but D-Von looks serious, soon Bubba's eyes meet with D-Vons. D-Von Dudley: You're on. Bubba Ray Dudley: D-Vooon! get the tables! Zack looks smug until he realised what Bubba just said! Bubba positions the Z! table and D-Von hoists him up, 3D to Ryder!... --- Matt Striker: Woah, did we just have a match announced for the Royal Rumble? Jim Ross: I'm not quite sure, but Ryder actually needs a partner first! Speaking of the Royal Rumble, thirty men will compete in an over the top rope battle royal for an main event championship match at Wrestlemania Twenty Seven! Who's your early pick King? Jerry Lawler: Call me crazy, but I think it's gonna be John Morrison! I mean, he managed to beat Kozlov last night, as well as being able to innovate new ways to avoid elimination. After weeks of attacks and watching him brutalise other people, Morrison was the one who stood up to Kozlov and succeeded in taking him out. It was full of fist pumps and exciting action, both men had ample oppertunity to impress WWE management, and they did, the crowd was very into the match. John Cena (Sighs) Yeah, well, I'm not in a good place right now, mentally. My mind is all over the place, and that's seriously affecting my performance. Three pay-per-views in a row, I've lost to the Nexus. Plus the fact that these mysterious videos keep turning up, playing on the titantron, sent to me in the mail. Look, watch this. Cena inserts a DVD and it plays, a robotic voice is speaking. Voice: Cena, you have achieved near legendary status, but like what happens to all athletes at one point, you have gone so far, but can go no farther, you have hit... the wall, there is no where for you to go, and on the 24th of January, 2011, I will personally put you in your place... Even Josh looks a little spooked, but continues to probe Cena. Josh Matthews: So, how are you gonna overcome this mental block? John Cena: Well, I need to redeem myself, in mine, and the fans eyes. Because, I'm gonna win the royal rumble, but as for tonight? Orton & Cena glare at each other, before Cena just gets up, barges past Orton and walks out... --- Matt Striker: Woah! This is gonna be an explosive main event! Jim Ross: It's gonna be a slobberknocker, that's for sure! Orton & Sting start it out, where it is even for the most part, even, if Sting not slightly dominating, when Barrett is tagged in, he and Orton go at it furiously as Cena watches on, begging Orton to tag him in, Eventually, Orton his whipped into his corner, where Cena tags himself in! Cena proceeds to get dominated by Wade, nearly getting pinned on serveral occasions, Orton, not wanting to lose his title shot attacks both Wade and Cena, drags Cena over to his corner and tags himself in! However, Barrett, being knocked down at the time, doesn't realise, and picks Cena up for the wasteland, but mid-move, Orton RKO's Wade, then clotheslines Sting off the apron and covers Wade for the 3-count at 13:49. http://i589.photobucket.com/albums/ss337/bobfear/TheMizWWEChamp.jpg As Orton celebrates his victory, Miz climbs in the ring, and strikes him in the face with the belt - no! RKO! Orton lays out Miz! Also it was good to see you explained how Sting got into the Nexus. 3. Don't worry about the Jericho-Sheamus team name, it's not the same 4. Thank you for mentioning me I appreciate that, really, I do... 5. One last thing (because lists are better when they're divisible by 5), noticed some typos. Not enough to detract from the story, but it's something every writer's gonna have to work on in order to get better (I know I try to minimize it as much as possible) Good luck and enjoy, man!
