JackKnifed72
It's september 1995 and WCW are about to debut their new flagship TV show, Monday Nitro, which is to go head to head against WWF's Monday Night Raw. This should be the single biggest story in wrestling right now... but it's not. Behind the scenes, in the months leading to this big event, was something even bigger in the making... unhappy with some, according to the wrestlers involved, unreasonable and inhuman terms in their contracts, a large group of wrestlers from both top American companies, WWF and WCW, joined forces and sued their employers. And a few weeks before the highly anticipated debut of Nitro a decision was made on their case, a decision that shocked the entire world of wrestling and sent ripples across all of USA... a decision that from one day to the next has changed the wrestling business forever; all workers signed to written contracts with either WWF or WCW, be it wrestlers, managers, announcers, referees, road agents or something else, were declared as free agents, with their contracts being declared illegal and void! Furthermore, also as part of the lawsuit, it was determined that no company could hold copyright over names used by their performers - meaning that characters and tag team names now follows the wrestlers, not the promotions! Suddenly being without a single employee, WWF and WCW now faced competition from not only each other but from other sides as well: having closely followed the trial, lurking prepared to strike in the shadows in hope that the trial would end the way it did, former American Wrestling Association owner and multiple-time world champion Verne Gagne returned to the wrestling business with new investors, re-establishing AWA and gunning for several former WWF and WCW stars! But he was not alone, as Jeff Jarrett, son of United States Wrestling Association owner Jerry Jarrett, launched an ambitious promotion of his own, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. With his father Jerry closing doors on USWA, the two were ready to put all their focus and funds into TNA. The age of Four Corners of Chaos has begun... This is a 4-player multiplayer game starring: JackKnifed72 as WWF Big Al as WCW Rick Savant as AWA and Hive as TNA
JackKnifed72
This thread will be to follow all things WWF... World Wrestling Federation The WWF was formed in 1963 when promoters Toots Mondt and Vincent James McMahon broke away from the National Wrestling Alliance over a title dispute concerning NWA World Heavyweight champion Lou Thesz and contender Buddy Rogers. In 1984, an ailing McMahon sold the company to his son, Vincent K. McMahon and the modern world of "Sports Entertainment" was born. By the late '80's the WWF had gone national and become the undisputed #1 promotion in the world. Now, after the landmark supreme court ruling that rocked the wrestling world, the 'New" WWF struggles to retain it's place at the top of the heap... Armstrong goes on a long winded rant, hyping himself up, calling himself the Road Dogg, claiming to be a rebel like Jesse James and promising to 'rape the WWF of what little pride they have left'. If you didn't know, then your *** better call soooomebody! (Segment: C-) - Lex Luger vs The Ultimate Warrior Clotheslines and shoulder blocks wow the crowd, actually good back and forth action and tons of heat. Warrior seems on his way to a victory until Luger rakes the eyes, then locks in the torture rack for the win (Segment: B-) - Next up is the Snake Pit. Jake Roberts' guest this week is new WWF CEO Ted Dibiase... Dibiase: "So, not that I feel the need to enlighten the peasants in the crowd, but all I've been hearing for the last week, well aside from how great I am, is how?...How Mr. Dibiase did you manage to take over the WWF? Well as I've always said, everyone has a price...even my good friend... Dibiase motions for someone to join him in the pit... Styles: "OH MY GOD! That's Shane McMahon! Your own son Vince..." Dibiase: "You see I may have had the money, but I needed a McMahon's signature to seal the deal...and all I can say is young Shane here is now a very...VERY..rich man.....BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Vince is speechless as Shane and the Million Dollar Man start to leave the Snake Pit together... Dibiase: "Oh and Jake, seeing as how you want to run around sticking your nose in other people's business, in two weeks at Breaking Point you will have a match with Sycho Sid....In a steel cage!" (Segment: C) - The Main Event: Ric Flair vs Roddy Piper (No DQ's) Great main event, despite their ages Piper and Flair put on a great match..after 14 minutes of action, Arn Anderson enters the ring going after Piper. Piper ducks a clothesline and Arn levels Flair instead, as Flair staggers to his feet, Piper locks in the sleeper hold getting the submission victory (Segment: B+) - Post match it turns into another six man brawl as Hogan and the Warrior rush out to help Piper vs Flair, Arn and Luger. Finally, with Arn and Lex having been thrown out of the ring; Flair winds up getting tied up in the ropes. As Flair is begging for mercy, Hogan motions to the back and out runs Brutus the Barber Beefcake! The crowd is going nuts as Brutus is about to start snipping Flair's hair, sadly Arn and Luger are able to pull Flair from the ring before the clipping can commence (Segment: B-) Overall Show Rating: C+ (Booker's notes: The bad chemistry bug plagued the undercard and once again Sycho Sid's match was a dud, still not a bad show. Slowly building up some of the young unknowns like Adam Impact, Tazz and Jesse James but the show will hurt our popularity a little) ...

JackKnifed72
Slightly shocked to see these early ratings from your mighty WWF roster. It's clear that the ability to deliver big grades is there of course but as had been noted bad chemistry, Sid flopping and your inclusion of guys like Armstrong and Impact have all been factors I'm hoping for big things from Raven, who's always been one of my favourites Also, where's the Sarge? Yeah 1st show was held down by bad backstage atmosphere, which has been fixed...2nd show got 2 undercard matches with the bad chemistry penalty....as far as Armstrong and Impact etc...I'm looking at the real world WWF from this time period...they ultimately built guys like the Rock, HHH, Foley etc into megastars...it'll take time to build some of these nobodies but I'm gonna try The Sarge is a road agent at this point, but I see him having an on-screen role very soon
