Hive
It's september 1995 and WCW are about to debut their new flagship TV show, Monday Nitro, which is to go head to head against WWF's Monday Night Raw. This should be the single biggest story in wrestling right now... but it's not. Behind the scenes, in the months leading to this big event, was something even bigger in the making... unhappy with some, according to the wrestlers involved, unreasonable and inhuman terms in their contracts, a large group of wrestlers from both top American companies, WWF and WCW, joined forces and sued their employers. And a few weeks before the highly anticipated debut of Nitro a decision was made on their case, a decision that shocked the entire world of wrestling and sent ripples across all of USA... a decision that from one day to the next has changed the wrestling business forever; all workers signed to written contracts with either WWF or WCW, be it wrestlers, managers, announcers, referees, road agents or something else, were declared as free agents, with their contracts being declared illegal and void! Furthermore, also as part of the lawsuit, it was determined that no company could hold copyright over names used by their performers - meaning that characters and tag team names now follows the wrestlers, not the promotions! Suddenly being without a single employee, WWF and WCW now faced competition from not only each other but from other sides as well: having closely followed the trial, lurking prepared to strike in the shadows in hope that the trial would end the way it did, former American Wrestling Association owner and multiple-time world champion Verne Gagne returned to the wrestling business with new investors, re-establishing AWA and gunning for several former WWF and WCW stars! But he was not alone, as Jeff Jarrett, son of United States Wrestling Association owner Jerry Jarrett, launched an ambitious promotion of his own, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. With his father Jerry closing doors on USWA, the two were ready to put all their focus and funds into TNA. The age of Four Corners of Chaos has begun... This is a 4-player multiplayer game starring: JackKnifed72 as WWF Big Al as WCW Rick Savant as AWA and Hive as TNA

Hive
Wrestling journalist Dale Speltzer has had a look at the recent development in wrestling in USA, and have made some observations: The 4 big players on the American scene doesn't appear to have the same focus; WWF seems focused on popular star wrestlers, having signed the crop of the biggest superstars in USA today. WCW, in spite of being filled with cash, seems to want a healthy mix between established stars and skillful young prospects. AWA seems to put focus on in-ring performance, mixing world class technical wrestling with high-flying cruiserweights. TNA is a lot like WCW, just with less stars. And a strange obsession for tag teams. Neither WCW nor WWF seemed to either be able to or want to retain their title holders; WCW World Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan went back to WWF while WWF World Heavyweight Champion Diesel went to newcomers TNA, WCW United States Champion Sting also went to TNA while WWF Intercontinental Champion Shawn Michaels jumped boat to WCW, WCW World Tag Team Champions Bunkhouse Buck and Dick Slater surprisingly are completely without jobs at all while WWF World Tag Team Champions Owen Hart and Yokozuna stopped their partnership when Owen went to AWA while Yokozuna, as the only title holder of the two companies, decided to stay loyal to WWF. Neither WCW nor WWF appears to have been particularly fond of any of their former tag teams, having retained a grand number of ZERO of them. WCW did however snatch WWF's tag team champions prior to Owen and Yoko, The Smoking Gunns while WWF has yet to present a single tag team! Gone from WWF is also Royal Rumble winner 1995, King Mabel. Several smaller promotions has suffered severely from the recent events; most notable are ECW, who lost their ECW World Heavyweight Champion The Sandman along with ECW World Tag Team Champions Raven and Stevie Richards - along with many other of their top talents, including The Steiner Brothers, Cactus Jack, Taz and Terry Funk. Once touted as an upcoming star and possible outside challenger to WWF and WCW, ECW now face a radical rebuilding process they might not survive... small Canadian promotion BCW also had to say goodbye to their 3 biggest upcoming stars, Sexton Hardcastle, Christian Cage and Rhino Richards... and SMW, who were struggling already, lost their former multy-time SMW Tag Team Champions The Rock 'n' Roll Express along with former AJPW Triple Crown Champion Terry Gordy... But in order to find out who will compete for these prestigeous titles, qualifcation matches will be held today and next week at Impact! And of course, Jeff Jarrett has been given, by himself, a bye into the second round of the tournament to crown the very first ever TNA World champion... C A video is shown hyping a menacing looking tag team by the name of Team 3D. Rating: D Rhino vs. Christian Cage In the first match ever on Impact!, two rookies face off in a match completely devoid of any interest from the audience. In spite of a brutal and impressive show by Rhino, Christian manages to pick up the win with his finisher, which JR says is called the "Unprettier". Winner: Christian Cage Match length: 5:21 Rating: E+ Jim Cornette is presenting his new clients... which turns out to actually be old clients of his, The Midnight Express, Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane! Rating: C+ TNA World Tag Team Championship tournament semi-final match: Harlem Heat vs. Team 3D In spite of a solid peformance by newcomers Team 3D, Harlem heat pick up the win when Brother Ray is DQed after refusing to stop choking his name brother, Stevie Ray, in the ropes. Winners: Harlem Heat Match length: 6:16 Rating: C- Chris Jericho and Sean Waltman are seen backstage, bickering over which one of them is going to win the X Division Championship at No Surrender - apparantly both assuming that they'll qualify. Rating: D+ TNA X Division Championship Ultimate X qualificiation match: Alex Wright vs. Eddie Guerrero In a match where Wright kept spewing German profanities at Guerrero, Eddie picked up the win after a Frog Splash. Winner: Eddie Guerrero Match length: 7:55 Rating: C+ Sting and Vader bumps into each other backstage, staring at each other for a bit before Sting says that he has no beef with Vader in spite of past transgressions, and that he wishes him luck later tonight. Vader doesn't say a word. Rating: B TNA World Tag Team Championship tournament semi-final match: The Midnight Express vs. The Quebecers Cornette did his best to secure a win for his team by multiple minor interferences and distractions, untill ref Mike Chioda had enough and banned him from ringside. Eaton decided to protest to Chioda, allowing Oullet to surprise him with a rollup from behind. Winners: The Quebecers Match length: 6:54 Rating: C Harlem Heat vs. The Quebecers for the TNA World Tag Team Championship is announced for No Surrender! Rating: C- Kevin Nash and Diamond Dallas Page meet backstage, sharing stories from their past time together in WCW where they teamed as The Vegas Connection. Rating: C TNA World Heavyweight Championship quarter final match: Bob Backlund vs. Vader Backlund did his best to match the strength and ferocity of Vader, but never really looked like standing a chance against a fired up beast like Vader was today. This match is quickly over when Backlund is pinned after a Vader Bomb - which is probably for the better, since the match was rather poor. Jeff Jarret joined JR and Honky Tonk on commentary for this match, scouting his possible world championship opponents. Winner: Vader Match length: 4:34 Rating: D+ Jeff Jarret vs. Vader is announced for next week's episode of Impact!, as part of the TNA World Heavyweight Championship tournament! Rating: B- TNA World Heavyweight Championship quarter final match: Sting vs. Diamond Dallas Page Sting came out best from this match against his fellow WCW alumni when winning after submission by the Scorpion Deathlock. Jeff Jarret was on commentary again, verbally putting down Sting throughout the match. Winner: Sting Match length: 9:08 Rating: C+ DDP seems really angry about losing, and stays in the ring for an extended period of time, only leaving as Davey Boy Smith's music hits for his upcoming match. On DDP's way back, the two cross paths and seemingly share a few heated words. Rating: C+ TNA World Heavyweight Championship quarter final match: Kevin Nash vs. Davey Boy Smith In the match of the night, with both men going the extra mile to pick up the win, Nash pins Smith cleanly after a Jackknife Powerbomb to earn a place in the next round. Jarrett was once again on commentary, putting over the quality of the two competitors and stating that he'd rather not face Nash in the tournament final, after he quite naturally beats Vader. Winner: Kevin Nash Match length: 13:54 Rating: B- Sting vs. Kevin Nash is announced for next week's episode of Impact!, as part of the TNA World Heavyweight Championship tournament! Inky The Squid Boy
My money's on you looking at that roster. You may be lacking stars the calibre of Flair and Hogan but basically your whole roster is comprised of potential franchise players who can get it done in the squared circle. You may be lacking stars the calibre of Flair and Hogan but basically your whole roster is comprised of potential franchise players who can get it done in the squared circle. Don't let me down I'll do my best! But yeah I agree, what I lack in current superstars I definately make up for in future stars who can already put on a great match. My opponents will be wise not to underestimate me.

Hive
TNA Impact! Pre-show match: Christian Cage vs. The Gambler In a short match between two workers that didn't seem to click, Cage won by pinfall after an Unprettier. Winner: Christian Cage Match length: 3:46 Rating: E Diamond Dallas Page opens the show by declaring that his defeat last week against Sting was a freak incident, but that the audience can breathe easily: they will still get to see him, the star of TNA, at TNA No Surrender! In fact, he will show just how good he is by issuing an open challenge to anyone who might wish to challenge their luck by entering the ring with him at No Surrender! Rating: C Team 3D vs. The Hardy Boyz A vicious-looking Team 3D manhandled The Hardy Boyz for a while before hitting their double-team move, the 3D, on Matt. Devon got the pinfall. Winners: Team 3D Match length: 5:14 Rating: D After the match, Brother Ray and Brother Devon begins insulting the crowd while informing them that they are the new bad boys on the block, and that they'll be tearing up the tag division... they are interrupted by The Nasty Boys, who says that Team 3D are nothing but posers and that they are the baddest, nastiest tag team in TNA! The two sides start to throw profanities at each other before beginning to brawl, and it is announced that the two will face off at No Surrender! Rating: C Backstage, Jeff Jarrett is seen lurking around with a guitar, obviously waiting for someone. Vader then appears around the corner and is immeediately bashed by Jarrett's guitar, after which Jarrett throws some extra punches and kicks into the downed Vader for good measures. He then looks straight into the camera and declares that he "will be going into No Surrender as challenger for the TNA World Heavyweight Champions and leave as champion!" Rating: C+ TNA X Division Championship Ultimate X qualificiation match: Chris Jericho vs. Skayde Jericho won a bout that seemingly had all heat extracted into a black whole of sorts. In spite of non-existent crowd heat, it was actually a decent match which Jericho won by submission to a Liontamer after getting Skayde down with a low blow. Winner: Chris Jericho Match length: 6:57 Rating: D+ Harlem Heat, Booker T and Stevie Ray, are backstage talking about how they will be the first ever TNA World Tag Team Champions after No Surrender by beating The Quebecers back north of the border! Rating: B- Also backstage, Davey Boy Smith accidentally bumps into Bob Backlund. Backlund snaps and yells at Davey, complaining how rookie punks like him doesn't respect the veteran elders these days! Davey retorts by informing Backlund that he's been active in wrestling since 1978 and is by no means a rookie, but Backlund will hear nothing of it and keeps yelling. It ends with them both agreeing to a match at No Surrender, after which Backlund keeps yelling while Smith Davey walks away while shaking his head... Rating: B- TNA X Division Championship Ultimate X qualificiation match: Kaz Hayashi vs. Sean Waltman The crowd got a bit bored with this rather fine match, as they seemingly felt it was too long for the undercard. Ungrateful crowd behaviour aside, the match was actually quite good and was won by Waltman when he pinned Hayashi after a Moonsault. Winner: Sean Waltman Match length: 8:23 Rating: C- Eddie Guerrero vs. Chris Jericho vs. Sean Waltman is announced for the Ultimate X triple treat match at No Surrender for the vacant TNA X Division Championship. Rating: D- The Midnight Express are in the ring, with Cornette claiming that they unfairly lost last week's TNA World Tag Team Championship qualification match against the Quebecers due to the referee either being biased and in those frog-eating bastards' pockets - or just being plain stupid. Either way, they demand a rematch! The Quebecers enter the ramp and first say something in French that was probably rather insulting after which they say that they won their match last week fair and square, but that they won't mind kicking Eaton and Lane's sorry asses yet again, as practice for their title bout at No Surrender! Rating: C TNA World Tag Team Championship tournament semi-final rematch: The Midnight Express vs. The Quebecers Rougeau and Oullet would come to regret their French arrogance in accepting this match, as Eaton won by pinfall on Oullet when using the ropes, assisted by heavy distraction by Cornette prior to the pin. Winners: The Midnight Express Match length: 8:16 Rating: C+ The announcers mention that new matchup for the vacant TNA World Tag Team Championship at No Surrender is now The Midnight Express vs. Harlem Heat! Rating: C- Kevin Nash taunts Sting, saying that he don't know how Sting could ever be hoping to come out of tonight's match victoriously. Nash himself just came from a World Championship title reign that lasted nearly a year before vacating it without losing, and he intends to pick up where he left here in TNA! Tonight, Sting will be tasting the Jackknife! Rating: B- TNA World Heavyweight Championship semi final match: Jeff Jarrett vs. Vader In spite of having worked Vader over with his guitar earlier, Jarrett failed to capitalize against the monstruous Vader when being pinned after a Vader Bomb in a good and even match. Jarrett looked shocked and disbelieving after the match. Winner: Vader Match length: 14:45 Rating: B After the match, Jarrett grabs a microphone and proclaims that it means nothing that he lost tonight; he owns this company, and he *will* be in the match for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at No Surrender! The crowd boos loudly. Rating: C TNA World Heavyweight Championship semi final match: Sting vs. Kevin Nash The crowd was on fire for this great match, a matchup worthy of headlining a PPV. In an even and hard-fought match, Sting picked up the win after reversing a Jackknife Powerbomb attempt into two consecutive Scorpion Deathdrops. Jarrett was on commentary throughout, mostly mocking Sting. Winner: Sting Match length: 18:22 Rating: B The announcers then talk about looking forward to see Vader vs. Sting vs. Jeff Jarrett at No Surrender for the vacant TNA World Heavyweight Championship. JR berates Jarrett for putting himself into the match while Honky Tonk Man praises Jarrett for his ingenious decision. Rating: B Show rating: C+ (Very dissapointed that this show didn't get me a B-!) They're both really solid workers, and both mainb eventers. I was shocked to say the least that they only got a C! Though as I discovered only after having drafted Davey Boy, he's grossly undervalued in this mod... and this mod being my own creation, I only have myself to blame for that error. <img alt=":o" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/redface.png.900245280682ef18c5d82399a93c5827.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> But there were several matches lower down the card that did well above expectations, so I'm overall happy with my first PPV.</p>
juggaloninjalee
I loved the show. Kinda surprised to see Jeff win the belt. I don't mind him holding it though. Loved the Nash segment too.

Yeah I was hoping to surprise people with Jarrett winning the belt, with him being the least popular of my main eventers and all. But I think it makes for a good storyline and I could totally see it happening irl.

Yeah as long as Jarrett doesn't go over the best guys more often than losing to them for about 6 years straight I will be ok with him being the champion. I figured you would go with Sting as your top guy. Hopefully you keep him busy for a couple months before actually getting a shot.
