I just had my #1 contender (47% rep, 11-4) go up against my UFC Women's Champion (93% rep, 20-0), and the betting line was an out-of-this-world +800 to -1010.

Anyone ever see a betting line that high? Oh, and of course the champ retained with an armbar submission with 4 seconds to go in the fight, so I got that one down as well.

I do have a question, though. Are those betting lines even remotely realistic? I've looked at UFC and some boxing betting lines, and the biggest numbers I've ever seen were in the 400-500 range. I've never, in real life, seen betting lines get this wonky. Is it just a fictional part of the game or does that actually happen?

Rin Nakai, a HUGE female Japanese fighter who's 10-0 or something, was a -1800 favorite against the 6-23 can they brought in to fight her. Zulu was something like +1000 when he fought Fedor. The endless stream of tiny Japanese journeymen PRIDE made Wanderlei fight were all huge underdogs.

The biggest favorite in UFC history is Cro Cop when he fought Eddie Sanchez, I believe. He was -1200.

Those huge lines do happen but generally they dont. The way I understand fighting lines they tend to keep it closer than they should in cases with uge favorites. The rationale being they wanna draw in betters and they'll place down money on some other fights.
