Guest codey Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 I received it, too. For a minute I got excited that someone wanted to PM me, then I was just disappointed...
BurningHamster Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011
Yeah, and as I am morally opposed to gambling in any form I was quite offended.

20 bucks says someone else got the same PM spam too.

SWIFT Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 I received it, too. For a minute I got excited that someone wanted to PM me, then I was just disappointed... I had the same reaction
James Casey Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Same. That's the free bet, the Canadian human experiments, a forum with laptop offers and something else that got deleted by the mods. Is there any way new accounts can be blocked from PMing, same as their first posts are moderated?
Derek B Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 I think only the main GDS mod types can do anything about this new problem... makes me sad that the spambots have now worked out how to send PMs, though I've not had any myself yet which seems odd given how often I'm around AND I'm one of the lesser mods. I was theorising that they were only sending to people who aren't set to invisible mode but from the various people reproting so far in the thread that doesn't seem to matter. Hopefully something will get fixed soon, but unfortunately quite a few new posters get in touch with the mods about needing posts approved. It's not ideal, but perhaps there will be a system implemented where unapproved accounts can only send PMs to mods... though I don't know if that's possible.
The Final Countdown Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Should I be offended that the bots evidently deemed me too unimportant to spam?

joehelmer Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Haha, I was thinking the exact same thing. Same here. I has not recieved any of the reported spam PMs.
