cappyboy Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Does anybody ever use these sections? Maybe it's because I use mostly chained storylines. But it seems like the are as neglected as stuff like the Faulty Judgment and Oops angles used to be in earlier versions of TEW. When it comes to the way storyline writers use the categories it appears that Action, Plotting and Verbal are the dominant choices with Hype, Skit and Sex and Romance making cameos every now and again. What say ye, unchained story users? Do you guys use these more than it would seem to a chained player like myself?
Inky The Squid Boy Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 I primarily use unchained storylines and I've used the an alliance angle all of maybe twice. One instance I can care to name where I had Flair and Lex Luger announce an alliance to take out Sting. I can see alliance angles having their uses down the road though
James Casey Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011
I actually use the Alliance angles a fair bit - simply because they frequently come up as the only angles with 2/3/4/more workers, all rated on entertainment...

I've sat down and written chained storylines a few times in the past, but it's horribly time-consuming. When I've done it, though, I've tended to put a lot more variety into the angles used then when I've been booking off the cuff.

NWO4until01 Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 is there really any point to these different angles types? From what I've seen the game doesnt rate the angles any differently based on angle type (I'd love to be corrected if I'm wrong).
Dalimyr Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 is there really any point to these different angles types? From what I've seen the game doesnt rate the angles any differently based on angle type (I'd love to be corrected if I'm wrong). They're there for the sake of storylines (one chain of a storyline may specify that a hype angle with worker X as a catalyst and worker Y as a subject is to be used - this makes you use a hype video rather than another less relevant angle like having X beat the snot out of Y backstage) As for the original question, I've used alliance angles a few times. They're not something that'd be used on every show (far from it) but they do have their place
denzil85 Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 I will use an Alliance angle occasionally, more as a explanation as to why two of my workers are repeatedly beating the crap out of someone else over a number of shows.
D-Lyrium Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 I love me some stables, so Alliance angles are fairly common on my shows. I love the old-school angles where every member of a stable who had something to say would generally say it in the same promo. So if Eddie Peak has something to get off his chest, you can bet Texas Buffalo will use the time to rant about their opponents too. Not only does it show unity, but it lets Peak try to keep an angle where Texas Pete talks from sucking quite as much. Character angles though... nah.
