He'll lose some overness but if you got him to A* once I'm sure you can do it again. A few hot angles and he'll be right back up there. On top of that he'll give a nice rub to some young kid who needs the IC title.</p>

With a guy that popular seeing him get screwed out of a win should be easy enough to swallow. Or depending on H/F alignment and/or challenger level you can even have him dominate and get screwed or DQed.</p><p> </p><p> "You DQed me just because I stuck my thumb in his eye? <p>Managed to have him drop the title without losing much if any overness <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

I had Sin Cara beat him for it who is about A overall, then had him drop the title to R-Truth about 3 weeks later, as I didn't really want Sin Cara in the Main Event scene yet anyway. I made Truth win by cheating and Sin Cara's overness didn't drop at all just his morale a bit but nothing a 5 grand bonus didn't solve <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

The simplest way I see, is to make him win a bigger title, but without unify the titles.

He keep the world title, the other is vacated (like Goldberg in WCW with the US title when he won the world title).

Something I did recently (without naming workers or anything) was with a floating title (that's basically for midcarders) and the main event title. The younger worker was really over and had outgrown the lower title, so I had big plans for him to win the top prize at some point, but I didn't know when or how. Eventually he captured the gold and at the very next TV show after the PPV he lost the lower belt to the worker he just won the major title from. Obviously it continues their feud and it doesn't exactly put the midcard belt on somebody else, but it's how I went about it instead of just "throwing it on someone".

It makes the lower belt look better and keeps things very interesting between the two workers. Without giving anything away - the worker who won the lower title will most likely (due to his ego) vacate the championship. What does he want with that petty title? He wants the big one and winning the other one just made him even more angry.
