Borderline Productions along with Pretty OK Movies, brings a film for the ages. The Crimson Mask is a thriller that wil keep you on the edge of your seat and keep you guessing every step of the way. The performance by Johnny Depp is said to be just as appealing as his Captain Jack Sparrow character. While Amanda Tapping is said to have given the performance of her life. This more than 2 hour film seems to flow perfectly. The production of this film was a bit low and people wanted to see at least a million dollars invested into it. The props used were showing their age, and the lighting was a bit too dark in some scenes.

Overall I don’t have a bad thing to say about this film, I think it was very well put together and can’t wait to see what the sequel will have in store for us.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Revenue: 12,000,000

The Effect:

The over whelming success of this film has made it a popular genre. Now more people will want to see Horror/Thriller type movies

Johnny Depp now wants 175,000 a movie and will guarantee his appearance in a sequel given a 24 hour notice

Amanda Tapping now wants 100,000 per movie

The Coen Brothers now wants 2250,000 per movie and will guarantee their appearance in a sequel given a 24 hour notice.

Borderline Productions now has a budget of 6 million dollars

Pretty OK films now has a budget of 16,920,000

Awesomesauce! :D

Lots of money for me, with the sequel expected to make eleventy squijillion dollars at the box office according to Mayan prophets.... lots of money for IER too, which I'm sure he'll be happy about since it'll help him on his way to making some blockbusters of his own. :)

Now to start planning my next movie... don't think I should go straight for a sequel so I'm gonna have to work out what kind of movie to go for next. I've got some ideas for comedys, superheroes, gangsters and horrors! :D

Oh... and I assume the Coen brothers are meant to be at 250,000 or 225,000 per movie and not the 2250,000 listed there. Though I'm sure I'll be paying for them no matter which way it goes, since they were such an awesome success for me along with the entire rest of the cast. Good work everyone! :D

If dakydaky is interested I'd love to do him the same favour I got from IER and help to bankroll the film for a share of the revenue. I've already sent a PM, so this is more of a confirmation in the thread that the offer is there since I'm gonna be out for most of the day. :)

Genre- Superhero/Action

Plot-

After meeting the Blue Flame, as the media has dubbed him, Jill Jones is convinced there must be other heroes in the world. She shuts down her Alien Conspiracy website and opens one dedicated to finding these other heroes. Within days, Jill receives numerous tips about strange people around the globe. One tip from Chicago catches her eye. We zoom in to see an article in the Chicago Tribune entitled "Who is the Night Fox?"

We then see The Night Fox (Joseph Gorden Levitt) beating up some thugs who were trying to steal computers from a warehouse. We witness The Night Fox fighting in a kick boxer style while also using a pair of tonfa that have a point on the end instead of being rounded. The Night Fox kills all of the thugs save one. He tells the thug to take a message to his boss…

We then meet the mayor of Chicago, Jon Davis (Michael Cain) yelling at the chief of police (Matthew Fox) to put an end to the vigilante justice of Night Fox. The chief admits he still has nothing to go on but he will put his best men on it. The mayor yells some more and spills his coffee as the Chief of Police leaves…

We now catch up to Jill whose car is broken down on Lake Shore Drive. A tow truck pulls up and we see a guy with the name patch Alan (Joseph Gorden Levitt) step out. Jill explains the problem as she knows it, a loud clunking noise, and Alan hooks it up to his truck and offers Jill a ride which she accepts. In the truck Jill and Alan make small talk and eventually Jill asks if Alan knows about the Night Fox. Alan feigns ignorance which Jill doesn’t seem to buy.

We then see the thug from earlier walk into an office where a man named Shawn Aiten (John Malkovic) is going over some documents. Next to Shawn is a man dressed in muy thai gear with a cat tattoo across his chest (Tony Jaa) who we learn is Shen Kuei, aka The Cat. The thug removes his shirt and we see a message carved in his chest, “You’re Next Shawn!” Shen then kills the thug with a knee to the face that pushes his nose into his brain. Shawn then tells Shen to “Bring me the Night Fox’s head!”

We change to Jill looking at her laptop when a message pops up. Jill takes off and we see the message read “Night Fox spotted in Humbolt Park.” Jill takes a cab to the park where she doesn’t see Night fox but we do. Jill is about to get mugged when Night Fox saves her. Night Fox asks why she is there and she answers… “I wanted to meet you.” Night Fox then takes off, but before he disappears he tells Jill, “We’ve met, now forget me and go home!” Night Fox leaves into the night. We then see Shen was watching the whole time…

Alan has finished fixing Jill’s car and he calls her but hears a strange message from Shen. It says that whoever hears it should contact the media and let them know Jill was taken by The Cat and he will kill her if Night Fox doesn’t meet him in Humbolt Park tonight at midnight. Alan takes off and we see him change into his Night Fox outfit and head over to the park to wait for Shen.

We then have a huge fight scene between Shen and Fox with Jill and Shawn watching from a car nearby. It quickly begins to rain and the fight rages on, culminating with Shen being impaled by Night Fox on his tonfa. Shawn then picks up a walkie and tells his men to open fire and we see several thugs appear from hidden locations and they begin to fire. Night Fox avoids the gunfire and takes the thugs out. Shawn’s car takes off and Night Fox chases after him. Night Fox catches his car and pulls Shawn out. Night Fox then impales Shawn up against a wall through the heart. Jill thanks Night Fox and tells him “I’m glad it’s over” to which Night Fox responds, “It’s never over…”

We then see the mayor reading an article written by Jill that was published in the Tribune about the Night Fox. As the mayor puts the paper down we see Jake Blane (Josh Brolin) standing there. He tells the mayor he may have a solution to the Night Fox problem…

Sorry I haven't been around much. Busy at work and, sadly (given the nice weather here), rather sick.

Quick note: Some of the actor prices have not been updated. Tom Hardy, for example, will cost dakydaky 100,000 in his film (based on my review of 1234's movie).

I'd like to suggest that we move to a google docs file system for actor prices (that way, when I do reviews, I could update the prices right away and it would be one less thing for mad to do).

Title-Breaking The Barrier: The Jackie Robinson Story

Lead Actor-Denzel Washington ($125,000)

Lead Actress-Kerry Washington ($30,000)

Supporting Actors- Cuba Gooding Jr. ($75,000), Jensen Ackles ($20,000)

and Robert DeNiro ($200,000)

Supporting Actress- Mila Kunis ($30,000)

Director - Darren Aronofsky ($125,000)

Genre-Drama

Plot- In this film we follow the life of Jackie Robinson (Denzel Washington) growing up as the youngest of five children and being raised in a single parent household as his father left his family only a year after Jackie was born so the family moved out to Pasadena, California as his mother worked odd jobs to support the family. Jackie and his family lived in relative poverty in otherwise affluent community. Jackie and his minority friends were excluded from many sports related activities which lead to Robinson joining a gang only for a friend to convince him out of it. His brothers Mack (A future Olympian) and Frank convinced Jackie to pursue his interests in sports where Jackie would go on to letter in football, baseball, track and basketball. He would play shortstop and catcher on the baseball team, quarterback and safety on the football team and guard on the basketball team. Jackie would go onto attend Pasadena Junior College where Robinson continued to show athletic prowess but an incident at the college would illustrate Jackie’s impatience with authority figures he considered racist where he would be arrested after vocally disputing the arrest of one of his friends. Near the end of his time at PJC his brother, Frank who Jackie was the closest with was killed in a motorcycle accident. This event would motivate Robinson to pursue an athletic career at UCLA. Robinson would meet his future wife, Rachel Isum (Kerry Washington) at UCLA Robinson would again show his athletic prowess before being drafted into the military to serve his country in World War II but it would never happen due to him confronting the investigating officer if he was racist as Robinson would be honorably discharged in November 1944. In early 1945 Robinson would sign a contract with the Negro Leagues, Kansas City Monarchs even though Robinson had success he was disgusted with the disorganization and the gambling interests. Robinson would pursue a tryout by the Boston Red Soxs where they only using the players to assuage Boston City Councilmen Isadore Muchnick. Robinson was subject to racial epithets, he left humiliated. However other teams made serious interests in signing black players as Branch Rickey (Robert DeNiro) began to scout the Negro Leagues where he would interview Robinson where Rickey asked Robinson if he could take the racial animus without taking the bait and Robinson responded “Are you looking for a Negro who is afraid to fight back?” Rickey responded that he need a Negro player “with guts enough not to fight back.” Where he would get a commitment from Robinson to “turn the other cheek” to racial antagonism where Rickey would sign Robinson to a contract. In early 1946 Robison and Isum would get married, more racial issues followed as he was not allowed to stay with his Triple A teammates at their hotel instead he stayed at the home of a black politician. Also local stadiums would not allow the Dodgers to use their facilities if Robinson and another black player were not involved. Eventually Robinson would breakthrough the color barrier six days before the 1947 Major League Season. Robinson would eventually get support by Harold “Pee Wee” Reese (Jensen Ackles) and his wife Dorothy (Mila Kunis), he would eventually be joined on the Dodgers by star pitcher, Don Newcombe (Cuba Gooding Jr.)which eventually would lead to the Dodgers winning the 1954 World Series after an unsuccessful 1956 season Robinson would official announce his retirement in “Look” magazine. We close the movie with looks of other Black Major league players such as Willie Mays, Roberto Clemente and so on as well as Major League Baseball’s honoring of Jackie with Jackie Robinson Day.
