Booking 101 Dynasty

Recommended Posts

There was a thread in the forum titled booking 101 and I had alot to say but was having trouble wording it. It got my head thinking and decided to do a dynasty with the new player in mind.

I like starting fresh so i created an avatar that has rep of highest to start his own company and is a great announcer. A dynasty with Jack Avatar being the champion and winning all the time would not make for a very good dynasty at all.

I am going with a sports entertainment product key mainstream and key comedy everything else none.

rated much more on popularity

proper gimmicks

simple gimmicks

expected storylines

low risk angles

very favorable for sponsership

not rocked by industry changes

no young lion system

20 intensity

30 danger

face/heel divide none

match lengths are the same for both event and tv

6 minor match

6 medium match

12 main event match

I think this may be the easiest product to book for, its alot easier to build popularity than actual wrestlers having 12 minute main event means its open for almost everyone once they get into shape. I took the face/heel off because while i normally like it on to get whatever bonus it can complicate things. I also turned off the 3 match 6 month limit as it can be frustrating for a new player.

My first order of buisness is to try to make peace with all the big boys

When your just starting out at the easy level you don't need to really worry about an all star roster in fact i go the in the other direction i prefer unemployed guys who fit my product. Build your own stars first and put on good shows then try to add to it down the road.

Psychology is probally the hardest to come by stat in the game even in this product i will be getting hit in the match ratings for this. I will be keeping this in mind when getting wrestlers but only 2 guys are unemployed and rated over 70 (fumihiro ota and coyote dynamite). I want to get 6 guys who i think can put on decent match against each other to carry the show (1st match, co main event and main event at the big monthly events) I also want to get 4 tag teams or make them

I start negoations with alot of people.

I make non aggression pacts with

Supreme Wrestling Federation

United States Pro Wrestling

North of the Border Pro Wrestling

Burning Hammer of the Wrestling Gods

Pride Glory and Honor Wrestling

Total Control Wrestling refuses my pact

I should be in pretty good shape but expect raids from TCW. Since they are not playing nice I shortlist all of there wrestlers and if they are dumb enough to let a quality wrestler become a free agent i will go after him (i am in no postion currently to compete for guys with them)

I like to get 2 road agents, 2 refs in case TCW steals one (and i expect they will)

I turned off the roster limitation because a large roster can be tough to deal with for a new player.

My final starting roster looks like this:

openers:

El Ladron 21 year old masked mexican wrestler with some brawling and chain wrestling skills.

Stretch the chicken boy - 23 year old limited skills but a 53 mat wrestling and 52 pyschology are the bright spots

Lower midcarders:

K-Squared - the very defination of mr average not horrible but doesn't stand out in anything.

Ben Williams - 23 years old and not much else going for him besides a cool nickname "the bump machine"

Valentine - 23 years old with 51 psychology nothing else to see here.

Midcarders:

Antman- he has 70+ star quality and charisma and is only 20 years old. Favorite of small federations in north america. Short strong guy i think Ivan Putski when i book him.

Nomad 26 years old a slightly improved version of K-Squared pretty average all around but he has 70+ star quality and Charisma which means ratings and brighter future.

Regular Joe 20 years old and already has 65 performance rating may not have charisma but 68 star quality isn't bad and 58 pyschology is his worst performance rating.

Happy Elwood - 24 year old with some flying skills but nothing special

Running Wolf - 22 year old with 82 star quality and 61 charisma not a very good wrestler but fits our product

Upper Midcarders:

Ekuma the Hawaiian Strong Man - Much like Running Wolf 81 star quality 61 charisma not much of a wrestler.

Stan the Man Manna and Rocking Ryan Turner are nothing special but an experienced tag team. I brought them in to give us a launching point in the tag division. Ryan is 24 and Stan is 25 so they have some time to get better as well.

Hugh de Aske - 21 years old and already should be one of the best performers. Will be one of the guys the main eventers beat when we need ratings.

Main Eventers:

Rayne Man 23 years old will be looked to for ratings.

then we have 3 veteran guys in the main event scene

Fumihiro Ota 35 years old has technical high flying and performance skills. Will be a backbone of the fed as long as he is here.

Paul Steadyfast 34 years old some technical and performance skills is a poor mans ring general.

Jack Griffith 34 years old a brawler with some charisma and popularity although drinking problems have haunted him will give him a run and see if he can recapture the past.

Wilson Carlise is our main ref with 76 ability

Chad Brent is our ref in training 47 ability (don't think he will get poached like wilson will and hopefully grow into the part i kinda like him from 08 where he seemed to be the only ref that didn't cause problems)

Curt O'Malley and Duncan Kendal are a couple of 70+ rated road agents not world renowned but will do just fine for us.

I also bring in a couple managers Streetz and Vita they are good on the mic and can help raise the charisma of a couple of workers. Will be looking for some chemistry initially and could get someone unexpected a push.

the next thing i do is go thru the roster selecting gimmicks that i think may best suit the worker.

Looking at antman (first on my roster) he has the same rating for heel or face but his highest skill is wholesome while the ****y youth gimmick he has may work i decied to change it to fan's own and make him a face.

Ben Williams is better at being a face and is good at comedy so disco stud is his new gimmick

Ekuma - better at face with 100 rating for brute which means biker gimmick for him

El Lardon already has a thief gimmick and i decide to leave it

Fumihiro Ota - believe it or not he doesn't qualify for the ninja gimmick so i make him a thief

Happy Elwood - happy-go-lucky he fits so i leave it

Hugh de Aske - not qualified for the priate gimmick so he becomes a gypsy

Jack Griffith - doesn't have one but we give him arrogent heel gimmick

k-squared - thief we don't change it

Nomad - Grunge rocker we leave it

Paul Steadyfast- came with hired gun but doesn't qualify for it - he is best at legitmate but doesn't qualify his next best is weasel and qualifies for lounge lizard and geek while he is kinda geeky looking i go with lounge lizard.

Rayne Man - old school face we leave it

Regular Joe - Underdog he doesn't fit it so we go with blue colar which seems to fit his name

Stan the Man Manna and Rocking Ryan turner where changed from rock stars (they didn't fit it) to 80's guys (we can think of them as 80's rockers)

Running Wolf - Native American we leave it

Streetz - go with the troublemaker gimmick from hustler

Stretch - we leave him with weirdo

Valentine - doesn't qualify for the prima dona gimmick so we make him a cowboy

Vita - we go with clean cut gimmick as girl-next-door doesn't fit her

I give my refs and road agents the staff member gimmick don't have plans for any of them in storylines and they are not gifted for that may change down the road.

I see my main 6 as: Fumihiro Ota, Paul Steadyfast, Jack Griffith, Rayne Man, Hugh de Aske and Regular Joe. If TCW was coming for a talent raid these are the guys i would hope they don't take.

I want to get these guys popularity up asap. I also want to work on some tag team experience.

We will be running small shows in our hometown of great lakes to try to improve as much as we can before our monthly "event" we will only be exposed outside our home town once per month. We need to be able to put on regular shows that would increase our popularity and right now it would take a hit. This means that a TV show for us would be bad at this juncture.

We will also only focus on our home area so we are not going to hurt ourselves all over and can move it back up when we get the hang of these guys.

Under the creative meeting - our main eventers are the frachise players,

we have nodoby under next big thing, regular joe, ben williams, happy elwood, antman and k-squard are listed as hot prospects. talk the talk we have vita . Show stoppers Ota, Griffith and Steadyfasat. Ring Generals just Steadyfast. Ota and Steadyfast are listed under time decline but they are both just starting to show signs of age in the ring (they got a way to go yet)

this roster is far from the "best" starting roster you can get. I honestly don't like switching gears when i lose guys. I have my first 3 storylines and 9 months worth of matches down on paper. It is subject to change. I am curious how bad our first event will be.

this was not a good show and did not get a good rating. We have have guys who are not over yet and not very good besides. The 3 "big" matches got ratings better than the others but still not good enough. I totally expected this (maybe was hoping for better than a 48 but still) until we get our guys over we will not be successfull.

we are holding house showings in great lakes region on mondays and wednesdays to work on our guys popularity. Next month we should have an improvement (although still a long way to go)

I could panick and make some signings but this is just going to cost money and the point of the dynasty is not to show what you can do with the best roster but how to go to national with basically any group of guys.

yes i am cult sized

by "house shows" its just running small shows twice a week in my home area intitally just to build popularity, now to work on improving my wrestlers so the crowd don't hate them, get some tag team experience. When i get big enough they will turn into an A and B tv show.

Rayne man vs Hugh de Aske is the best match we have ever put on so far

Ota has been outperforming Steadyfast beating the job squad so we changed things up a little to give him the title.

ok been at this 6 months of game time

if you have noticed i am a big fan of the hype 1v1 with manager angle

It works on improving the mic skills of the wrestler and with a high enough charisma you get a + in the notes for that. Paul Steadyfast who does an interview with Streetz every show has gone from 44 to 60 in microphone

48 to 60 in charisma and 30 to 53 in acting.

I also like the face off but no contact angle, For my house shows i take the guys with the lowest momentum and use them as the not rated guys. Currently stretch has the lowest momentum at 56 valentine is the next lowest at 67. You can have it so everyone has decent momentum going.

my intial plan was to have wiley coyote and the paratroopers in the tag scene but i decieded to go with a smaller roster and save money. I only have 18 wrestlers on my roster and its easy to use every one of them every show. It is my hope that i can every one of them to the point where there is no negative crowd reaction for them (i believe they need to get their basics to a certain point for that to happen)

My last two house shows were rated 80 and 79 those shows are the big 6 in squash matches and a tag match with angles nothing exciting. It is nice that i can get those kinda ratings out of that. There is no chemistry i am using to get that. While Ota, Steadyfast, Griffith, Hugh de aske, Rayne Man and Regular Joe are not bad workers you can find better workers

If you added larry wood, jd morgan, steve flash, matthew keith, greg gauge and davis wayne newton to start with a big 12 but fustration will set in as you have to constantly rearrange things. I started a rock hard game and fearless blue and daredevil areo had excellent chemistry and both ended up in the power 100 #17 and #22 intially my plans where them to be a tag team but they carried my company from local to national. The point here is when you start up a game grab a bunch of young workers and use them one may even have a high destiny stat and be a "free" home made mvp. I tend to go after unemployed guys as it removes the step of a bigger company using them. That isn't an issue if you start at easy level and go thru the regional companies in north america(if that is where your fed is) and take the best talent each one has.

for the card i try to go with

3rd best match

worst match

next worst match

next worst match

etc until

2nd best match

best match

i will usually toss in interview with manager to hype the next match and end the card with a face off or monster unleashed angle that usually will get a high rating. If i believe my match will get a higher rating i will end the show with that but i don't have the workers for that right now.

Jez McArthur, Curt O'malley, Jack Griffith, and Fumihiro Ota are gone.

I did bring in Remmy Honeyman and Donte Dunn to fill in our roster young and unemployed Remmy is actually #1 on the hot prospect list. Hopefully TCW is done signing talent for a while.
