Let's Play NYCW 101: A Guided Tour of TEW2010

Recommended Posts

I hate my computer. I will likely say that a lot. Now I get to re-write my introduction.

A "Let's Play" is typically a video series with footage of gameplay. The video will have commentary overlaid; the commentary comes from the player(s) of the game and can be either live or added afterwards.

For TEW2010/this forum, I figure giving my thought process about the game and the choices faced in playing it will be supported adequately by relevant screenshots. This game is text-based; that is, there is no aspect of time for the player that has any bearing on the game. So still footage should convey my point.

I will be using NYCW for this game. Phantom Stranger, who is now top of my "must kill by the end of this dynasty" list (The Stomper is second), suggested that promotion. I am not particularly skilled with smaller promotions, but the first few years will likely be full of plenty of common problems for new players. I will attempt to explain how I succeed in spite of them (if I do succeed).

and I also intend to separate strategic commentary from my ramblings. I am not sure as to how I am to achieve the latter, but that should become obvious soon.

~~

With the reaming I've been getting in the Small Questions thread (and, admittedly, rightfully so), I thought to come back to the first post and check out what I had written. Changed a typo in there and edited the last sentence. Check out that quote.

Heh. Yeah, I definitely didn't do that well at all. Apologies.

I come back to the first post because I want to make my purpose a bit more overt:

1. This thread is, first and foremost, a diary of my game with NYCW. A "Let's Play," as I noted earlier. In the style of many Let's Plays, I do not also stick to one subject. At all. In a paragraph. I ramble about stuff that doesn't matter, occasionally (and less than I should, true) coming back to the topic at hand. This is meant to be "entertaining." I know it isn't, but that's what I'm...trying to do? Not really sure anymore.

2. Secondly, this thread should be helpful for newcomers. Should. Not that it is (aside from, potentially, my rants on the various promotions). I do get things wrong a lot, and I do book with plenty of preconceived notions that are blatantly false. I want this topic/diary to be a showcase of a game. Not that I do everything right, but that this is the kind of stuff that happens in this game. Do I have a bloated roster? As of typing this, yes. I'm actually dealing with not just too many workers, but far too many expensive workers. And I'm trying to book two shows in one month, which is a ridiculous idea for the size that I am.

3. In effect, this diary is a sample of the game. I provide guidance as I see it, whether that be right or wrong. If it's right, excellent. If it's wrong, I hope to be corrected in this topic and/or that I realize it's wrong when hey, my main event scored a 30. I'm basically the rabbit in a race; I'm not going to win, but I can lead people. Rather, a better metaphor would be that I'm the scout, the guy that falls into the pit so everyone actually useful to the party doesn't die. I'm the man on point. I make mistakes so that newer players don't have to make them. And, hopefully, I do so in a moderately-entertaining manner.

4. Oh, and I intersperse this diary with an actual diary of my life. Not really on-topic, true, but...well, I've done it so far and probably will keep doing so.

<p>On that note, my schedule has me not working Thursday and Friday. This means that I will be able to post late Wednesday, Thursday, and early Friday due to the game being on my laptop and limited internet access.</p><p> </p><p>

Plans:</p><p> </p><p>

-Next post will include a brief overview of the main screen. I will then start the game.</p><p> </p><p>

-That post will talk about multi-player games (very briefly) and eliminating regions.</p><p> </p><p>

-Will likely be able to fit conversation of the different avatars, user talents, and user preferences.</p><p> </p><p>

-I intend to do a paragraph review of each promotion. Given that there are...what, 36 in the default data? That will be relegated to the next post.</p><p> </p><p>

-The next post (third in the future; fifth including this one and the intro) will go over the game screen. Brief look at the first one, talk about my preferred game options, and likely get through everything but "My Promotion".</p><p> </p><p>

-Fourth informational post will be going through "My Promotion" and possibly into what types of workers I want to hire.</p><p> </p><p>

-Fifth (and beyond) are future plans, advance booking, etc. And probably owner goals, too.</p>

<p>Welcome to my "Let's Play" of TEW 2010. Opening the game...</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://img1.uploadscreenshot.com/images/orig/5/14500554180-orig.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

As a quick rundown, from right to left on the top:</p><p> </p><p>

</p><ul><li><strong>Exit Game:</strong> Simply, this exits you from TEW2010. Yay. Note the big blue button with the white X. That's the one we push. Not the red box in the upper upper right. Don't do that.<br /> <br /><strong>View Credits:</strong> ...View credits.<br /> <br /><strong>Help File:</strong> <span style="font-size:36px;">READ. THIS. NOW.</span> Read the help file. This "dynasty" is designed for the newer guys, so READ THE HELP FILE. ALL OF IT.<br /> <br /><strong>Achievements:</strong> It's somewhat cool to see what you've done across all games. For example, I have a lot of the "run X shows/matches" just because I've had...20 files now? Amusingly, because I poorly overwrote my data, I have the One Year and Fifty Year achievements, with none in-between. On that note, never, <em>ever</em> sim 50 years ahead in the regular data. Way too slow. If you want that achievement, make your own database with one area, one promotion, and sim ahead. Speaking of...<br /> <br /><strong>Skin Options:</strong> Okay, next one is what I wanted. Skins let you change the look of the program. Use the default since you probably haven't made an alternate/I don't want to walk you through how to get one. Since I don't know how, exactly. More on my completely screwed up file system later.<br /> <br /><strong>Editor:</strong> Not the "in-game editor", this controls the database as a whole. Want Eric Eisen to always start in TCW? Do that here. Want 800 promotions at the start? Do that here. As this is for beginners, I'll ignore this tab. A final note (well, two notes): so long as you don't save anything, it's somewhat useful to just look around at what's in the data. Especially the Hall of Immortals; you can find out how much more someone needs to get in. Second note: mod-makers spend a hell of a lot of time here.<br /> <br /><strong>Database Options:</strong> Choose your database. Since you only have one, Highlander, no need to go here.<br /> <br /><strong>Delete Game:</strong> Note the X on the folder. This is NOT the load button.<br /> <br /><strong>Load Game:</strong> Arrow = Load. NOT DELETE.<br /> <br /><strong>New Game:</strong> I should probably click that now...</li></ul><p></p><p> </p><p>

Next post: getting to the promotions screen.</p>

Let's dance.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://img1.uploadscreenshot.com/images/orig/5/14501001432-orig.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

A quick note (from the help file, too <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />): If your computer is really slow, you can untick the blue boxes to eliminate regions from the game. Or areas...countries (and continents, Europe) from the game. Whatever the proper noun is.</p><p> </p><p>

I've never done that because I like importing people (and I tend to play SWF, so I can).</p><p> </p><p>

As for the name of this game?</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://img1.uploadscreenshot.com/images/orig/5/14501031115-orig.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

D:</p><p> </p><p>

I hate you Ryland. One letter...</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://img1.uploadscreenshot.com/images/orig/5/14501060375-orig.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

If you can't tell, I like using screenshots. Or it's the only way I can post pictures. Will be much lighter in later posts.</p><p> </p><p>

I'll talk about the user preferences first, then talents, then the 6 avatars.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><ul><li>Stats as grades vs. numbers: I hate the grades. So very, very much. HATE. THEM. I want precision. There are a few areas (ticket prices) where grades are required (and then, I <em>think</em> color can be substituted; I'll explain later), but other than that, I like me some numbers. I want to know how badly Big Smack Scott sucks, not generally that he sucks.<br /> <br />

Owner Goals: If you start as the owner, no point to that check. If you're just starting...that's a bit tricky. Goals make the game harder. Sometimes they don't matter (don't fall below X in the rankings is usually managed by growing, which is most peoples' goal), sometimes they make things difficult (Hey, Peter Valentine? That sack of crap with an attitude? Push him.) I'll play with them on to show you the experience. I will say that they are (at times) fairly fun, so long as nothing's stupid (ACPW is the smallest promotion in the world. It gave me a psychology requirement for hires/resigns. Half the roster failed.)<br /> <br />

Penalties for Small Rosters: I believe no promotion starts with a "small roster," and since I'll be hiring new guys, it won't matter for me.<br /> <br />

Penalties for Repetitive Booking: The penalty applies if the fourth (or more...best I've done is...50?) same match is done within a...6 month period? It's 4+ matches in a short amount of time, regardless. If the match(s) to be penalized is (are) worse than the previous, the rating tanks. Another setting that, while making things more difficult (can't spam a good match easily), forces one to think. So I'll leave it on. And yes, if you're constantly getting people more popular/talented, you <em>should</em> be able to avoid this by the matchup getting better and better. Or reset until you randomly do well. Meh.<br /> <br />

"Perfect Show Theory": I've played with this on so long that I don't want to take it off. For the new guys? Uncheck the box. PST has to do with having a flow to the show (cooling off and heating up the crowd). I <em>believe</em> that you will score, ceterus paribus, the same or better with it off, so it's easier to not bother with it initially, I'd say.<br /> <br />

Staleness: Will gimmicks/alignment get stale (giving one penalties) after a certain amount of time? Another "difficult but forces one to think" option. If you want to change people's gimmicks/alignment for story reasons or whatever, you could uncheck this and have those changes happen when you want, not dictated by the game. It seems...at least a year for people to get dinged, I think, so not a big deal either way.<br /> <br />

Gimmick Effects: Read the help file. Will this guy get more over this way, lose momentum that way, blah blah blah. READ THE HELP FILE.<br /> <br />

Morale: If a guy is angry, he won't do as well. Unless you uncheck this. Again, for a new person, you could uncheck this and keep people happy so they don't, you know, leave the promotion. So there's still an effect with this box unchecked (I think. If there isn't, then...well that's cool.)<br /> <br />

Locker Room Morale: Keep this checked. If you don't, then your "Leadership" trait becomes more useless (low leadership lowers the backstage morale). Also, with this on, you can get the bonus for high morale.<br /> <br />

Momentum: You get bonuses from high momentum and penalties for low momentum. This is a good box to keep checked if you want to learn how to/how you tend to push people. Get a guy hot before a blowoff match and you could be looking at breaking records. Have a champion with no momentum and watch your ratings plumment. Makes the game a bit more complicated, but I think it's a good learning tool.<br /> <br />

Time Limits: ...*sigh* without this, the Negotiation stat becomes fairly limited (in my eyes). That said, I usually restart if a guy doesn't sign, so I make it fairly limited anyway. I'll probably keep it on (you'll see if I do), but a new guy might want to turn it off.<br /> <br />

Advance Bookings: Honestly, given how often I forget when my PPVs are, I should have this unchecked. It's like the grades vs. numbers thing: Yes, it makes things easier. Yes, you can recover from your mistakes. But why the **** did I book that match in 8 MONTHS?<br /> <br />

Dirt Sheet: Never. EVER. check this. I don't think <em>anyone</em> plays with this box checked. I'll show you the dirt sheet later: it's very, very useful.<br /> <br />

Industry/Economy: I haven't played with this off. With it on, you'll get more/fewer fans and merchandising (and potential TV deals) if the industry/economy are high/low. Keep it on; it's a mild challenge.</li></ul><p></p><p> </p><p>

~~</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://img1.uploadscreenshot.com/images/orig/5/14501271132-orig.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

Read the Help File; it explains the four talents a hell of a lot better than I can. My suggestion (and what I'm doing for this game)? 5 in everything. Don't start doing crazy 7s in Negotiation until you know what the hell you're doing.</p><p> </p><p>

~~</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;">AVATARS:</span></p><p> </p><p>

<em><span style="font-size:8px;">Oh, that's how you use the "list" on here...</span></em></p><p> </p><p>

</p><ul><li>1 Charles Avatar: Youngest at 21, downside is relatively lower psychology. Can't call a match in the ring at regional. That said, great physical stats and the largest upside of all the avatars. I believe his popularity is focused in the US, so that can be good for some promotions (USPW).<br /></li><li>2 Jack Avatar: God. He's 25 and can probably call in the ring at national. If he can't, he certainly doesn't need to script the match. If in doubt, use him.<br /></li><li>3 Kate Avatar: Jack, except with breasts. Same stats, same popularity (50 everywhere). 5SSW, AAA, or BSC benefit more from Kate than Jack; all others are likely the opposite.<br /></li><li>4 Takayuki: Japanese. If you start in Japan, not a bad choice. I <em>believe</em> his entertainment is lower and his psych might be a touch low. That said, he can go in the ring for hours. If you start in Japan, again, he might be better than Jack (especially if you don't use angles).<br /></li><li>5 The Grand Avatar: He has 0 in every stat and 0 popularity everywhere. Choose if you do not want your avatar to affect the world. But I do.<br /></li><li>6 The Masked Avatar: Masked is the oldest of the Avatars, second being Takayuki (second usable, anyway). He's overall less good in any area than Jack Avatar, yet he is more popular in the US and Mexico. Basically, he starts with a (and has a visible) mask. That's the only reason to pick him over Jack.<br /></li></ul><p></p><p> </p><p>

I'm picking Jack, like I usually do. He's the best for beginners. And, uh, awesome players.</p><p> </p><p>

>_> <_<</p><p> </p><p>

Oh dear god. Now we're at the promotions screen. Next post(s?): 36 promotions and my (heavily biased) opinions of them.</p>

21st Century Wrestling. I'm more comfortable with American promotions and promotions that are not at Cult. 21CW has <em>just</em> enough wrestlers already on a written contract that, with a working Avatar, you can run house shows. At least I think that was 21CW. I abandoned that game due to an annoyance of mine:</p><p> </p><p>

Due to the fact that you need $7mil to sign a written contract at Cult (as well as solid momentum, favorable backstage environment, and 5+ negotiation), 21CW will be unable to re-sign its written workers to written contracts. That is, unless they get $4.5mil in...a year or so. Which they won't.</p><p> </p><p>

Aside from that, they're the king of the UK scene. Not a bad choice, but I'd suggest avoiding the UK until one is a bit more used to TEW2010. There's some talent to go around, and much of it starts in 21CW. So it's not the <em>worst</em> place to be.</p><p> </p><p>

~~</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://www.UploadScreenshot.com/image/337216/9076202" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14503565577.jpg</span></a></p><p> </p><p>

5 Star Supreme Wrestling. Remember when I noted that I'd have bias? I hate Japan. It's not that they don't have good workers (they do). Not that they don't have entertainers (they do). It's that I don't like Touring schedules, especially without TV. It confuses me.</p><p> </p><p>

That said, 5 Star is probably the second-worst Japanese promotion to play as. Tops goes to WEXXV (I hate garbage wrestling). The reason? Women's wrestling is difficult in this game. Most women don't have great stats (exception: Sensational Ogiwara, one of the best high-flyers in the game. And retired). Some can call in the ring at this stage, and given the complete lack of competition, you can pick and choose who you want on your roster.</p><p> </p><p>

Except that the pool's fairly small. I would not suggest this promotion to a newcomer, but I know plenty of people have had fun and built a huge success out of this little lady. Probably on the back of the February graduate, Fuyuko Higa. She, she has talent. And loyalty to 5Star. I'll explain loyalty later.</p><p> </p><p>

~~</p><p> </p><p>

All Canada Pro Wrestling. God, I hate this promotion. Not <em>quite</em> the worst, but...that's more a testament to the utter death that other promotions are in than anything good about ACPW. It's cool that everything's lightweight (<strong>hint: Charles Avatar is a lightweight</strong>). Not cool that they're Local. Lowest on the rankings (yet they're...30th on influence, I think. Which...dunno how that works). They...have no talent.</p><p> </p><p>

Sorry. Sky King. I love Sky King. And he's the <em>only</em> redeeming factor to the company. And a guy I steal every game. I hate them so much.</p><p> </p><p>

That aside, given that Local games are a race to Small and that money is typically very tight, a newcomer should probably not use a Local-sized promotion. Making money...not easy at all. Well...more on <em>that</em> later.</p><p> </p><p>

Angel Athletic Association. If I had to run a womens' promotion...well, I have two choices, and I don't like Japan. On the Japan note, you should totally get a working agreement with 5SSW if you're AAA. Right, haven't talked about promotion pacts yet. And I won't now.</p><p> </p><p>

USA is the biggest area in the world. That means that it has a lot of women in it. I also just realized that I forgot about BSC, but...eh, you'll see. Anyway, AAA has some <em>very</em> good prospects, including Grace Harper and Joanne Rodriguez. So you won't be hurting for solid ratings.</p><p> </p><p>

However, given that there are a few promotions in the US with a womens' division, you're probably going to get raided a bit. So J-Ro might not stick around too long. While that's the problem with Regional feds in general, given the lack of good females, that can hurt.</p><p> </p><p>

Best of the women for a new guy; might try as a third or fourth game.</p><p> </p><p>

Australian Pro Wrestling. Aka GET AWAY YOU ****ING DIW AND RAW!</p><p> </p><p>

Seriously, there's a three-way war. In Australia.</p><p> </p><p>

Oh, right, you're new. Australia has, <em>maybe</em>, 10 good wrestlers in it. Swoop, Simonson, Smithson...Lanny Williams, DDP (not that one)...okay, maybe closer to 20. 20 wrestlers, and RAW, APW, and DIW have to share.</p><p> </p><p>

When they're at war. And constantly sign away guys. *sigh*</p><p> </p><p>

Don't play APW. Don't play in Australia. Granted, APW start with probably the best performers in Australia, but it's a headache. Having to negotiate constantly to keep your guys <strong>and</strong> having a hell of a time growing due to Australia's low importance makes this...god, I hate Australia more than anywhere.</p><p> </p><p>

~~</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://www.UploadScreenshot.com/image/337234/5239707" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14504145739.jpg</span></a></p><p> </p><p>

Babes of Sin City. One question: how many breasts does it take to make money? Answer: don't play as BSC.</p><p> </p><p>

As fun as it is, <span style="font-size:8px;"><span style="color:#FFFFFF;">(for Big Smack Scott to be owner of BSC)</span></span> you have two workers.</p><p> </p><p>

Yes, two. Candy Floss and Tamara McFly. I have <em>never,</em> in any game where I'm not BSC, seen <em>anyone</em> but Tamara as the star of the show. She carries the promotion. If she gets taken...well, you'll live, because you can easily get ratings.</p><p> </p><p>

Ratings enough to grow? Guess who your competition is in regional battles? CZCW (male wrestling i.e. no) and AAA (womens' actual wrestling i.e. no). So you'll constantly lose popularity. And it's hard to make a lot of popularity when you have one show/month. Any more than that and you're bleeding money.</p><p> </p><p>

And the kicker? THEY DON'T HAVE THE HOTTEST WOMAN IN THE GAME ON THEIR ROSTER! (It's Jessie, actually. ANGRY GILMORE 4 LIEF)</p><p> </p><p>

Not beginner friendly. Well...hm. As something of a test run, actually, not <em>that</em> bad. Heavy use of angles is inherent in the default product, so it's not <em>that</em> hard to make people popular. With Kate Avatar, you have a triad of at least decent workers, so...not first game material, but maybe a trial for...some game in the future.</p><p> </p><p>

~~</p><p> </p><p>

<a href='<a href="http://www.UploadScreenshot.com/image/337240/4607213'" rel="external nofollow">http://www.UploadScreenshot.com/image/337240/4607213'</a> target='_blank'><img src='<a href="http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14504204093.jpg'" rel="external nofollow">http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14504204093.jpg'</a> alt='Click here to view full size' /></a></p><p> </p><p>

Burning Hammer of the Wrestling Gods. That's the best name for a promotion <em>ever,</em> and aside from the touring issues I have, I like the promotion.</p><p> </p><p>

By the way, let's talk about touring. A touring promotion (i.e. Japanese promotion) is only active during certain months (no more than 5 in a row). They only run events during those months. However, when they <em>are</em> active, they'll have a hell of a lot of shows. BHOTWG has a television show weekly and a big event event monthly. EX2010 has two weekly tours (heh, good old Exodus...do they ever survive?)</p><p> </p><p>

If you want to jump into Japan, this is a <em>great</em> choice. National, have as much money as SWF (25 mil, I think), able to take anyone you want (barring loyalty, so...), Tadiyuki Kikkiwa (one of the best brawlers in the game), the ELEMENTAL FAMILY (hire Elemental), Super Junior Tournament, history with Angry Gilmore...great place.</p><p> </p><p>

About loyalty: in Japan (only place it's active), a worker will/can become loyal to a promotion for which they sign. They will then not sign with any other promotion. Watch the news for Magnum Kobe: he's a frequent guy that people attempt to steal. And fail.</p><p> </p><p>

What this means: get a guy early, he's yours forever, even on a PPA contract. Speaking of contracts, a "touring" contract is valid only for the current/upcoming tour. Elsewise, it's a PPA contract. Except that while on a touring contract, a worker cannot be approached with new offers (existing ones can be renewed). You can thus get, say...50 people from a bunch of places to go on tour and just have fun. Or forget them all.</p><p> </p><p>

And I have no idea how Japanese TV works. At all. Woo.</p><p> </p><p>

~~</p><p> </p><p>

<a href='<a href="http://www.UploadScreenshot.com/image/337246/3418776'" rel="external nofollow">http://www.UploadScreenshot.com/image/337246/3418776'</a> target='_blank'><img src='<a href="http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14504285776.jpg'" rel="external nofollow">http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14504285776.jpg'</a> alt='Click here to view full size' /></a></p><p> </p><p>

Canadian Charisma Championship Combat. 4C. The main reason why this is a difficult promotion is that you have guys who are <em>way</em> too talented. I speak of Davis Wayne Newton and Jacob Jett. The former <em>will</em> be stolen; you might keep Jett for awhile. It's...I'm not sure if I've played as them, or very much if I have, but they seem like a regional fed. Nothing too special aside from some great prospects that get stolen quickly. Oh, the Thunder and Lightning tag team is cool, though you don't know why I think so.</p><p> </p><p>

If I ranked by difficulty, these guys would probably be "average." Maybe a little under it.</p><p> </p><p>

~~</p><p> </p><p>

<a href='<a href="http://www.UploadScreenshot.com/image/337248/7318079'" rel="external nofollow">http://www.UploadScreenshot.com/image/337248/7318079'</a> target='_blank'><img src='<a href="http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14504322764.jpg'" rel="external nofollow">http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14504322764.jpg'</a> alt='Click here to view full size' /></a></p><p> </p><p>

As much as I love entertainers, I curiously haven't played CGC very much. I wonder why...</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://www.UploadScreenshot.com/image/337250/2836238" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/thumb/5/14504331224.jpg</span></a></p><p> </p><p>

...</p><p> </p><p>

Fun fact: Phil Vibert might be my most hated person in the game.</p><p> </p><p>

CGC is interesting because it's run by Alex DeColt, brother of Ricky and...god, I know this...James...Jimmy...Alex Ricky and...JACK! Jack, Alex, and Ricky DeColt. Steve's elsewhere.</p><p> </p><p>

They're all very good on the mike and able to carry a feud on that side. There're also solid workers in the promotion, so they're set to take over Canada. Oh wait, that will never happen. I wonder why...</p><p> </p><p>

Oh, right, you can't hear me deadpanning that. And you don't know why I am. Later on that.</p><p> </p><p>

Anyway, aside from being Cult-sized and the issues therein, solid choice for a fed.</p><p> </p><p>

~~</p><p> </p><p>

<a href='<a href="http://www.UploadScreenshot.com/image/337262/8714436'" rel="external nofollow">http://www.UploadScreenshot.com/image/337262/8714436'</a> target='_blank'><img src='<a href="http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14504404754.jpg'" rel="external nofollow">http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14504404754.jpg'</a> alt='Click here to view full size' /></a></p><p> </p><p>

Coastal Zone Championship Wrestling. This is a promotion I probably under-rate just because...I can't be successful with them. I don't know why. They have the charismatic, flashy Remmy Skye (one of the few workers in the game with a large disparity in their aerial stats favoring flashiness). They have Snow Fox (love that alt of Fox Mask). "Mr. Seller" Air Attack Weasel. Snap Dragon.</p><p> </p><p>

And yet, I fail with them. Probably my typical Regional problems, I suppose.</p><p> </p><p>

They're dangerous as well because they'll be in some regional battles. That hurts their popularity, preventing growth.</p><p> </p><p>

If you start with them...I'd suggest making sure your undercard is doing well. I mean that because the top of the card is either a bit damaged, old, or likely to be taken by someone else. Do not underestimate the value of a good performer to teach your roster.</p><p> </p><p>

Cliff Anderson has a horrible moustache.</p><p> </p><p>

~~</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

It's 3:43 AM where I am. DIW is next (no, <em>this</em> is my second-most hated fed). And RVD's TNA theme keeps playing in my head. I'll be up tomorrow with a new post from DIW to...VAN ASSASSINATOR</p>

I'm not sure how useful true beginners are finding your opinionated and reference-strewn writing style, but I'm having a hellova time. :D

A few things though, just for anal retentiveness pertaining to some of the more factual aspects of your dynasty:

- Masked Avatar's performance skills are awesome. That's his 'thing'. He's 'old school grappler with awesome fundamentals' guy. He's not supposed to be Mexican Lucha guy, he's old school American "masked man" guy. He's not as good as Jack, admittedly, because Jack and Kate are overpowered wrestling Gods. :p Ironically, the promotion I most associate with Masked Avatar is... NYCW. But that's neither here nor there.

- Regarding your interpretation of Japan (which was quite frankly terrible ¬_¬, but you pretty much admitted that), Loyalty applies to young workers. Can't remember the cut-off age, but I think it's 23 (I know Young Lions is 25, and I'm fairly sure Loyalty stops happening before that). If you sign someone before then, they'll usually become loyal to your company.

As for TV shows, TV shows for touring companies are just 'highlight shows'. They don't, for the purposes of a human player, actually exist. They book tour shows (regular events) throughout the week. How many depends on the AI settings, or your preference if you're controlling the company. Then they have a large event at the end of each month, on PPV if they're big enough.

The idea being that the best bits from the tour shows are shown on the TV show at the end of the week. It's as close to reality as feasible, and works quite well to be fair.

- I'm a big fan of keeping PST on, even for newbies. It's better, in my opinion, to be 'taught' the 'right way' to do things from the off. Then if they find it annoying, they can turn if off later. Morale, gimmick effects and stuff like that can be turned off, sure, because that just adds extra complication that complete newbies won't need going into a game for the first time. But PST is fairly easy to get to grips with, I reckon.

Other than that though, a good read as usual. Though I am beginning to wonder why you play this game, as you seem to hate everyone and everything in it. :D

<p>This guide is likely to be as much use as a chocolate fire guard. Highly opinionated, scant regard for factual information, slapdash hints and tips strewn all over, areas where the author himself admits he has no idea what he's talking about. Its rivetting, I can't wait to read more. haha I mean that in all seriousness (the last sentence anyway) this shows much promise in terms of entertainment</p><p> </p><p>

I'd actually still term myself something of a noob (only been playing two or three months and only got any real experience playing in the UK) so maybe I'll glean something useful from this as well.</p>

At may be biased but if he can make it work then maybe we can learn somethings we didn't know before. I can never get low level pop based feds to work. I can do SWF but I'm struggling even with USPW. So we'll see where this goes, I for one am interested.

Well, there's not a lot of useful information to give out during the breakdown of the menu options and the different promotions anyway. I'm sure once it gets down to booking NYCW and dealing with the running of a promotion, we will see the meat of the guide.

I don't have a youtube account, and if I did, I don't have a camera. Well...I suppose I could make 25-second uploads from my cellphone, but that...yeah.

I edited Masked Avatar; re-checked his stats.

As for the "guide": Nothing I have said thus far actually needed to be said. Reading the help file will get you to the main screen that I have yet to get to. The promotion commentary...dear god, I am so wrong in certain places, but I really don't care too much, given that I'm picking NYCW in the first place. I'm going off memory, mainly, and my memory is really bad, apparently.

That said, I do appreciate the critique, and I'll try, once the diary proper starts, to be less opinionated. Well...more helpful, I guess. Whatever.

More promotions next!

Deep Impact Wrestling. God, I hate you so very much. Not only is it a hardcore fed, not only is it in Australia, but it's a local-sized fed. That makes it fairly hard to make money/grow rapidly, either of which would be nice.

And TV won't be easy due to the nature of the product, which won't change due to The Comedian (the owner). AND no working agreements (more on that later...I've said that already) for similar reasons.

What's mildly amusing is to see how often the computer plays dirty tricks on itself in Australia. I'll cap one if/when it happens.

Synopsis: Lolno. Granted, your roster won't get poached as much due to the lack of talent on your roster, but...your roster sucks. So yeah. Though you do have Death Ref, the greatest referee ever. Because he referees death.

http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14601055362.jpg

European Wrestling All-Stars. Never played as them...or enough to remember, I guess. One of three European companies, and you'll be at war (or maybe just hostile) with UEW.

First: the guy's name that made UCR (from which EWA and UEW were split) is pronounced LOUIIIIIIIIIIS FIGOOOOOO MAAAAANIIIIICOOOOOOOOOOO. Kind of like Armando Alejandro Estrada. Because he's that cool.

I'd prefer EWA over UEW because I like entertainment-based feds. They allow me to use entertainers while also letting me have an in-ring product. No one goes to waste. Interestingly, Europe actually has a fair bit of talent in there, and a lot of UK guys can work in Europe (and vice-versa). Aside from being Small, I'd imagine this wouldn't be too bad a company to start with.

~~

http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14601101447.jpg

FREEDOM Carribean Wrestling. Owned by the bamfingest (yes, two shotguns bamf) wrestler in the world, Puerto Rican Power.

PRP is insanely over in Puerto Rico. As in, by popularity alone, he should beat all but...I think Jack Bruce on SWF's roster. Pretty sure no one in TCW can touch him. His bio mentions that he's beaten a lot of really, really good guys in his homeland.

So abuse the hell out of his popularity (he's also good in the ring). There's a fair bit of not too good workers on the roster, but then again, you have guys like Natural Storm (top 5 favorite tag team in the game), Hell's Bouncer, and Junior Blue Eyed Dragon. And Kashmir Singh (for like a month, at best, before someone comes knocking).

This was the second promotion suggested that I use. Honestly...aside from the home location (Puerto Rico and Hawaii have crap Importance), not that bad a company. If a newbie wants to use a smaller promotion, this one works alright.

http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14601160118.jpg

Golden Canvas Grappling. If you want the "Grow to Cult" achievement, play as GCG. One show and you're Cult.

They're...like Burning Hammer, to be honest. BHOTWG, GCG, and PGHW all play similarly; if I'm giving a brief intro, it should largely be the same. Yes, they don't have the same workers. That's...the main difference.

I do like how this company's schedule is set up. So I guess that's a plus? Oh, and I like Barry Griffin's default picture.

~~

http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14601190779.jpg

Hinote Dojo is the child promotion for Burning Hammer. Can't play as them.

~~

http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14601212165.jpg

Men of Steel Combat. This is, I believe, THE hardest promotion to play as.

Hardcore makes it somewhat hard to grow. UK isn't the worst place, and there are some good workers in there (as if performance skills were important).

$1,000.

That's your starting cash. Have fun. By the way: don't run a show. Because if you do, you'll go into debt, probably. SO MUCH FUN!!~

~~

http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14601232360.jpg

Mexico Premier Wrestling Federation. Like Japan, the three Mexican promotions run similarly. There are different emphases, but given the 90% match ratio, you'll want to only run matches.

I love this promotion. They like to accept Working Agreements, you can give them out, and I love love LOVE Soul Taker.

The only problem I see is that SOTBPW is clearly your superior, with crazy talents like Nicolas Lopez and Champagne Lover (who will get stolen fast). Aside from that issue...not a bad promotion at all. The main event is a touch old, perhaps, but there are plenty of young guys that can, with a little work, be good-to-fantastic workers.

Suggestion: end the Non-Aggression pacts with the other Mexican promotions so you can hire their workers. OLLIE should accept a working agreement, which is nice.

~~

http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14601275093.jpg

Mid Atlantic Wrestling.

1. Go to "Medical", "Drug Testing", and set it to None. Why the hell a Small promotion is running tests is beyond me. Well, I know why, but Rip Chord apparently doesn't like money.

2. Rip Chord actually has top row stats, meaning that you can push him as a main event guy and get a decent match from him.

3. USE RIP CHORD HE IS VERY POPULAR.

That's pretty much it. They have my FAVORITE dojo graduate in Amazing Fire Fly (stellar aerial stats) in...March, I believe. Or...sometime later. Whatever. American Patriot is a god (and can work for 10 promotions at once. Check the strange events topic in the general TEW2010 discussion). Mean Jean Cattley, while slowing down, is very nice.

And then there's Jay Chord. *sigh* Jay Chord is like...HBK back when HBK was not liked backstage. And drinking. And maybe drugs; can't remember. Jay Chord is a cancer. An incredibly talented cancer that can easily do a 90 minute match, yes, but a cancer nonetheless. AND HE'S THE FUTURE OWNER SPOILERS.

Great promotion to start with, but I'm not good with them.

~~

http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14601323711.jpg

New York City Wrestling. Given that I'm going to be a bit more detailed about this company, I'll leave you here with 3 comments:

1. Black Hat Bailey has my last name.

2. Lee Wright, the absolute amazing legend in Japan, is here.

3. Steve ****ing Flash.

~~

http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14601343817.jpg

North of the Border Pro Wrestling. I'll end this post here; probably two more posts until I'm done/start this thing.

In about three years, NOTBPW is going to be the first or second promotion in the world. Why?

GOD DAMN SOULLESS MACHINES!!!!1

Dan Stone Jr. has no weaknesses in his game. Seriously; his aerial stats aren't amazing like Sensational Dragon, but a 70 is more than passable. And his brawling/technical stuff is just wicked.

Jeremy Stone is slightly better than his brother as a technician.

Steve DeColt is very good AND can talk down Stone Jr. Who will then talk back. It's a feud that totally has plenty of length on it.

Stone Brothers (Dan and Jeremy) are a 100 experience team containing two of the best technicians in the game.

Johnny Bloodstone is a good technician.

Cliff "Dark Angel" Wilson (aka he's Sting. Seriously.) is a god-like performer, if surpassed on the top row.

It's...ridiculous how much talent they have. SEAN MCFLY! Right, forgot him. He's a monster unless you give him the stick.

The only, only problem they have is that they're Cult, not National. So it's somewhat difficult to get Written contracts. And that Dark Angel will likely leave.

Other than that? It's almost too easy to do well with this promotion, especially if repetitive booking is off. Then you can do Jeremy vs. Bloodstone, Stone Jr. vs. DeColt, and...well, actually, you probably could fill a good 2 hours with those two matches. Yeah.

Good old America's Hat.

~~

Yeah, I feel like I'm rambling more than I'd like, so I'll stop here. More tomorrow.

Original Lucha Libre is Eternal. Fun fact: in Wrestling Spirit 2, this promotion is "Original Lucha Libre in Extreme."</p><p> </p><p>

So this is the 55-year-old promotion. Cool. Nicolas Lopez, Marcos Flores, and El Leon are in their top three (and El Critico in fourth). Those three are <em>amazing</em> high-fliers. Rafael Ruiz has amazing performance skills. And, of course, the feuding trios of Phoenix I,II,III and Swarm I,II,III.</p><p> </p><p>

I can't remember why I liked MPWF more than OLLIE, but they're roughly the same; both accept and allow (I believe) working relationships. Both have high fliers. And both will lose some top guys when they get too popular.</p><p> </p><p>

A solid promotion, and I don't think that (once you remove the non-aggression) a new guy will have too much trouble with them.</p><p> </p><p>

~~</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://www.UploadScreenshot.com/image/339181/3493100" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14702412456.jpg</span></a></p><p> </p><p>

Pittsburgh Steel Wrestling. Another hardcore company. *sigh*</p><p> </p><p>

Actually, that's not fair. Alex Braun, Frankie Future, Grandmaster Phunk, JD Morgan, Johnny Martin, Matthew Keith, and Steven Parker have passable-to-great performance skills. So you can dink around with the undercard and still put on a solid event. That and you have Krissy Angelle, one of the hottest females and managers in the game. Woo.</p><p> </p><p>

You'll have some problems with poaching (Keith, especially), but so long as you manage to have about...three from that list, you'll be able to manage, I imagine. And yes, bring in new blood, same story as before.</p><p> </p><p>

While I still hate hardcore wrestling...this promotion isn't too bad. Naess is actually pretty nice as an announcer. Ha ha pun.</p><p> </p><p>

~~</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://www.UploadScreenshot.com/image/339184/5271015" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14702464712.jpg</span></a></p><p> </p><p>

Pride Glory Honor Wrestling. They're Cult sized, so I'd suggest Burning Hammer over them just due to its National influence.</p><p> </p><p>

As I said before, the main Japanese promotions play similarly. You have a hell of a lot of great performers, and in this case, you have the injured Yoshimi Musashibo, one of the greatest technical wrestlers in the world. He's out for a little over a year.</p><p> </p><p>

I'm horrible at Japan games, but I'd imagine PGHW isn't too hard. Japan has plenty of solid performers, and...actually, have I played with PGHW? I need to. They have insane puro guys that I haven't managed to ever poach. Hm...</p><p> </p><p>

~~</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://www.UploadScreenshot.com/image/339188/4806535" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14702494390.jpg</span></a></p><p> </p><p>

Pro Wrestling Saisho. PGHW's child. How do you say Saisho?</p><p> </p><p>

~~</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://www.UploadScreenshot.com/image/339190/1216733" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14702505759.jpg</span></a></p><p> </p><p>

Revolution Australian Wrestling. Owned by The Australian Sports Network, this is the only promotion in the game that is owned by a network. If only for that aspect alone, I have to suggest a playthrough at some point with them.</p><p> </p><p>

Remember how I like entertainment feds? This is one of them. Something like...50% on TV, I think, and a bit higher on events. Yes, they're at war with APW and DIW. I 'famously' dropped both feds combined to a total roster of less than 10 people. I love wars when I'm ruthless.</p><p> </p><p>

The issue? They have TV when the game starts, but once they hit Cult? Odds are that TV will kill them. In my 'famous' 50 years ahead data, RAW is one of the few promotions to have died out. I believe the TV is why. Too high costs, too many shows.</p><p> </p><p>

That said, I like this promotion. Stealing is fine, plenty of shows for a short game (6 months = 30 shows compared to the usual 6 at this size). So I give them a thumbs up, provided you poach the hell out of good workers. And protect Luke Steele. He's really popular (for Australia), but sucks hard in the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

~~</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://www.UploadScreenshot.com/image/339194/6462803" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14702553020.jpg</span></a></p><p> </p><p>

Rhode Island Pro Wrestling. Child of SWF. PROFESSOR NEROOOOOOOO.</p><p> </p><p>

~~</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://www.UploadScreenshot.com/image/339198/6041169" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14702582491.jpg</span></a></p><p> </p><p>

Ring of Fire. Don't fall in. HA HA HA he's dead now <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Ring of Fire is great. Aside from money issues (they always fire 6 guys around the...second week into the game), I love this roster. Great workers, very, very good workers. And some bad ones, but...the point is that a lot of the guys from the UK that I steal work for ROF.</p><p> </p><p>

I can't fully support them for a new person, though, due to the lack of money. I'd prefer someone play a promotion with either more initial funds or a solid way of growing their bank so as to make up for any mistakes.</p><p> </p><p>

~~</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://www.UploadScreenshot.com/image/339201/720702" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14703011438.jpg</span></a></p><p> </p><p>

South of the Border Pro Wrestling. Sadly, no agreement with the guys North of the border. South has Champagne Lover. He is <strong>awesome.</strong> So great, in fact, that he'll get stolen (or at least go on tour) fairly quickly.</p><p> </p><p>

There's Lover, then Axxis Jr. the "Iron Luchador". And Ultimate Phoenix. And...actually, I might be under-rating them a touch, but I almost feel like they have a <em>less</em> talented roster than the other Mexican feds.</p><p> </p><p>

That said, they're Cult sized, so if you do have any shared workers (due to changing pacts), they'll work for you. The day of lucha is one such example, as well as the Day of the Dead. Honestly...blah blah Mexico is decent blah.</p><p> </p><p>

~~</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://www.UploadScreenshot.com/image/339206/6245638" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14703034482.jpg</span></a></p><p> </p><p>

Supreme Wrestling Federation.</p><p> </p><p>

I have to fully give my support to this promotion. It's my favorite in the game and <em>extremely</em> easy for a new player. TCW has money problems; SWF does not. SWF is International in size. Hell, the only problem is that their Risque is high enough that you can't sign certain workers, so drop it a touch perhaps.</p><p> </p><p>

Jack Bruce is the most popular active worker in the US (and second in popularity to Sam Strong). Christian Faith is a great performer. Marat Kholov is a beast. And ANGRY ****ING GILMORE IS IN THE HIZOUSE!</p><p> </p><p>

Though it's easily remedied, their roster does have a fair bit of average, but not good, performers. Guys like Remo and Steve Frehley that just need a little push to be able to call in the ring. And Eric Eisen, but I hate him.</p><p> </p><p>

Oh, and there's Big Smack Scott. Who is awesome and totally not not awesome at all.</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://www.UploadScreenshot.com/image/339210/9137049" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14703071029.jpg</span></a></p><p> </p><p>

Those are the stats of a god, kid. Stats of a god.</p><p> </p><p>

Long term these guys have a bit of trouble as TCW tends to outperform in the ring. This leads to TCW having a better second year, and then...SWF tends to get hit. By "tends" I mean "in that 50 year game I have". A human could likely fix that.</p><p> </p><p>

New players, feel free to choose SWF.</p><p> </p><p>

~~</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://www.UploadScreenshot.com/image/339212/6972371" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14703103989.jpg</span></a></p><p> </p><p>

Total Championship Wrestling. If I love SWF, I have to hate TCW. Except they have some amazing workers. Cornell, of course, and the good Vessey, Wolf Hawkins, Sam Keith, Troy Tornado, The Machines, Eddie Peak (surprisingly, given that he's teh hardcorrre), Oxford and Bryant, Joey Minnesota, Joshua Taylor, Koshiro Ino, SAM ****ING KEITH, Sammy Bach (the TCW analogue of Angry Gilmore for me)...looks like that's about it. That's a lot of names.</p><p> </p><p>

Matches aren't a problem. $1million starting money is, and Rocky Golden should <em>not</em> be world champion just yet. But other than that, hitting International isn't that hard (run a special show in Mexico once a week and it will take <2 months) and getting running, once you've had about half a year, is easy.</p><p> </p><p>

Another solid choice for a new guy. Also was "Promotion of the Year" 15 times in a row. Or...14-17, not too sure. 2011-something.</p><p> </p><p>

~~</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://www.UploadScreenshot.com/image/339215/9739496" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14703153931.jpg</span></a></p><p> </p><p>

Ultimate European Wrestling. This is the wrestling side of UCR. I'm sure I've never played a UEW game, but they have a few good workers. I imagine this is like SWF and TCW, execpt at the small scale and in Europe.</p><p> </p><p>

Can't say much more about them. Probably not too bad for a Small promotion, but probably a touch difficult to start.</p><p> </p><p>

~~</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://www.UploadScreenshot.com/image/339217/2879096" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14703171164.jpg</span></a></p><p> </p><p>

United States Pro Wrestling. Here's a guide to success.</p><p> </p><p>

1. PUT SAM STRONG ON THE SCREEN AND RATE HIM ON ENTERTAINMENT.</p><p>

2. win.</p><p> </p><p>

Strong is the most popular person in his respective home area IN THE GAME. USE HIM USE HIM USE HIM.</p><p> </p><p>

Every angle. Period. He can only help.</p><p> </p><p>

That said, they're the 5th biggest in the world and third in the US. They've got some solid workers (Liberty, Tyson Baine, Enygma) and...Peter Valentine. </p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://www.UploadScreenshot.com/image/339219/4166119" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14703193264.jpg</span></a></p><p> </p><p>

The man is 46 and holds a midcard title. *shakes head*</p><p> </p><p>

USPW, while certainly fun, has the problem I hate with Cult promotions. Their written guys can't be re-signed to a written contract (at least I haven't managed), then you can't have house shows, then they get stolen, then I cry.</p><p> </p><p>

However, Belle Bryden is ****ing hot and I hate that I haven't been able to steal her in any game I play because her contract is so long. Seriously, look at her face.</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://www.UploadScreenshot.com/image/339221/4594237" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14703211242.jpg</span></a></p><p> </p><p>

Hottest render in the game.</p><p> </p><p>

Victory Wrestling Association. The European (Swiss) promotion that wasn't connected to UCR. It's a roster than needs better performers, but they're very small, so that's understandable.</p><p> </p><p>

Oh wait. Thorp did away with all alliances and tag teams. Later, when I start the game, I'll explain why that's one of the worst things you can do to a promotion. Well...eh, sure, I'll just stand by what I said and eat the stupidity of it.</p><p> </p><p>

Warrior Engine XXV (25, I assume). I wonder where the other 24 Warrior Engines are?</p><p> </p><p>

That's right, THIS IS A GARBAGE FED!</p><p> </p><p>

That said...For a blood and death fed, they have an awful lot of good performers. I won't list them because their names are funny, but my point is that if I <strong>HAD</strong> to pick a garbage fed, it'd be this one.</p><p> </p><p>

~~</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://www.UploadScreenshot.com/image/339229/3342810" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14703265524.jpg</span></a></p><p> </p><p>

World Level Wrestling. Ironically, the smallest of the legit male Japanese feds.</p><p> </p><p>

Blah blah blah good workers blah Koki Ishibashi has masks blah blah blah. Same stuff I've said before, except that this promotion is smaller. A good start for a smaller Japanese fed, since...it's the smallest. My left eye has a line of red in it. I'm the ****ing Terminator.</p><p> </p><p>

~~</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://www.UploadScreenshot.com/image/339231/9545267" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://img1.UploadScreenshot.com/images/main/5/14703294756.jpg</span></a></p><p> </p><p>

Zen: Art Of Wrestling. FINALLY THIS IS DONE!</p><p> </p><p>

Zen's interesting. Only company in Australia that isn't at war. Only Australian company I've managed to get to be my child. Only Australian company (and...I think in the default data) to have an integrated product.</p><p> </p><p>

Fun fact: In the data? THERE ARE NO FEMALE AUSTRALIAN WRESTLERS. No debuts. None.</p><p> </p><p>

As the smallest Australian company...they have one good performer. Halloween Knight. That's it. They're fun as hell, fun stables, aquatic names for top faces, but...it's very spotmonkey-ish. And...that bugs me. Can they grow? Sure. Can they make money? In...2012 or 2016, Dunton Hall (I think. It's the genius Renaissance man) gives them $10million. Can they put on a good show?</p><p> </p><p>

Not unless you borrow (not steal; you're not at war, remember?) other talent. But at this size? There's certainly enough.</p><p> </p><p>

~~</p><p> </p><p>

NEXT POST: We start this stupid game and I go through A WHOLE LOT MORE EXPOSITION. I'll get through all the game screens (I hope). Then? Then I talk about the roster, creative meeting, and I START ADVANCE BOOKING DEAR GOD KILL ME PLEASE.</p>

Lol I like the guide, the biased opinions make it entertaining. One thing I completely disagree with though is recommending SWF for newbies. That's what I thought when I first played TEW, oh they're the number 1 company, they'll be easy to play as. WRONG. Maybe that's just part of your bias.

<p>I wasn't bothered to look up the guy's name. Who the hell <em>is</em> Dunton Hall and why can't I get him out of my head?</p><p> </p><p>

As to SWF: I dunno. I found it easy to stay International and hit global. Guys are over. Abuse the popular ones. Fire all the lower midcarders and below once they get pissed you aren't using them >______></p>

The way VWA is set up they are essentially one of my training fed games with, get this, BETTER TALENT. Seeing as the only direct competition are the much lesser funded EWA and UEW, it wouldn't be too very hard to build the company up beyond the two Bickersons and be the big dog on the European continent.</p><p> </p><p> And at least in the short term, I don't know that Thorp's plan is all that stupid. I never do tags in training games until I enough game time in for the novelty of the new set-up to wear off. Like maybe six months to a year in. Of course I start Local whre VWA is already Small and I hire my charter rosters from scratch when starting these training games. So the comparison's not totally parallel. But you get the idea.</p>
