I live in the US. I don't know much about soccer. I always get fire with-in like 20 games. I would like to know how to make a good soccer team.

Like what makes a good defender, midfielder and attacker (or forwards, I think they are called)

What type of player do I need on my bench?

What does pace team?

Thanks

As a fellow American, I'll tell you what I did as a kid with this game (my first real feel of professional soccer outside of the rare Man U game)

Cheat and Loan in Cantona and Owen.

Simple enough. Those two have enough class to change the world for you alone.

I loan in the players Eric Cantona from Manchester United and Michael Owen from Liverpool. I don't really remember the game well enough to tell you how to do it aside from that. Since I assume you have no idea what loaning is in terms of the game, all I can say is play around a bit and you'll get a good idea.

It would be smart to have a goalkeeper, a mix of defenders and midfielders and likely one forward

I just found a version, but it has stopped working before I got to have a proper look.

But probably the best way for you to get to grips with what stats each position should have, is look at the best players in each position. Go to the transfers bit, where you get to look at people you can buy, and filter for the best people in each position. So for Goalkeepers look at players like Khan, for Midfielders look at players like Zidane (just two players I know will be good in game). Also make it easier for yourself by choosing a good team (Man Utd or Arsenal would probably be easiest (in England that is))

I could never find anything that needed doing. Just the opposite actually. I found they needed so little work it was hard to care about what holes the upper level teams did have. I found it a lot easier to build your Woking and Gateshead types up from the ground. A little groundng in the stats, some halfway decent coaches and a little luck bringing in newbie internationals I could later sell off for cash once the coaching took and I could just about write my ticket to the places I sought to go.

I usually go for Europa League/UEFA cup teams), but when I am finding out how the game works and things like that I find big teams the best to use as they allow you to test more of the mechanics, see what makes a player good in a certain position, etc.

For this game in particular I dont know what is easiest, as I have only had a quick mess around with it.

Which is Corners & Freekicks.

And like I say, its not neccesarry to have a good set piece taker, but it helps.
