xspudx
I love TEW, obviously, but it seems as every game goes on, it doesn't feel like there's more features as much as there's more hassle and more complications. EWR was easy to jump in and out of a game, but 2010 is just too big to manage. I can understand the database, that's not my issue, but I have problems with the product and the TV networks, mostly. I feel the TV networks have been waaay overcomplicated and it's just so hard, and in my eyes, a bit unrealistic in its ways of getting ratings. I mean, even if I have no popularity whatsoever and I'm on a primetime network at a early morning slot (about 1am or 2am probably), I should be drawing more than 0.01, or sometimes nothing at all. Obviously I'm just using this to test, I'm fiddling around with the game trying to find a balance. I definitely feel the worst part of this game is the hassle with tv networks. Is there any recommendations or ideas you guys could give me? I'm testing a 50% popularity in USA and I'm getting like... 0.20 in Arcadia for a late night slot. It's just a bit ridiculous, I can't find a happy medium in ratings.
scorpion
why are you worried about the ratings? unless the network is complaining it doesn't matter. I've had runs just starting out of 0.00 ratings and the network was fine.
Nathers7
I was of the opinion that ratings don't matter at all. You get the same amount of money if you get a poor rating from ad revenue. Unless someone can tell me differently, as far as I know tv ratings (Grades do) don't make a difference in National or Regional battles. The Help file probably mentions it.

As far as EWR being easier to jump into, EWR was easy fullstop, you had to be mentally retarded not to do well in that game. It's just my opinion but games need to be challenging to be fun and not just hold your hand like EWR did. The new features add realism in my opinion.

In fact, if I had my way, the game would be even more "complicated" (read: in-depth) than it currently is. In TEW, you can be Paul Heyman (creative genius, financial imbecile) and still survive as a company, indefinitely. If you want higher ratings (and/or bigger numbers), get a decent timeslot. Early evening and late evening would be a good start.
xspudx
So it's unrealistic to have crap ratings (numbers wise) in a graveyard slot? There are far fewer people up watching TV at 1 or 2am than at 8-10pm. That's fact (at least in the US). Is that even graveyard? Looking at the tv schedule on wikipedia, I think Graveyard is 4 til 6 or something. Mine is late night. And yeah, I think even if a show is on graveyard on a popular channel, I think it'd draw better than a 0.01. Totally agree. I've tested that. I've tried primetime slots and such and you still don't really get good enough ratings unless you're like... 70% in popularity. It's in 0.0's in 50% or lower. But scorpion and Nathers made me think and I guess it's not really that important. It's a cosmetic thing, as long as the TV network keep me, who cares. ampulator
If you think it's too complicated, you could always play older version.

ampulator
Why would you expect to get ratings if you are not popular? Yeah. People prefer to watch shows they care about. There have been many cases where an unpopular show on a great time slot tanked.
