Tales of Sin City

Before I start this, I would like to say that my Ric Flair Promotions diary, titled 'Force in the Mid-Atlantic' is still alive and I will be favouring that over this at times, and if you want to check that out click here. That doesn't mean this will not get updated. I will try and update it as much as I can. So basically, we're looking at a diary that focuses backstage and inside the ring. The starting roster for this project may be a little 'nooby' in the eyes of others, but I don't really care. After the first few backstage segments are done, I'll most probably give a preview on everything that has happened in 2010 up to the point where I am at, January 2011.

Thank you for choosing to read this,

Joel.

When you are speaking about Las Vegas—the gambling capital of the world, the city where the slogan is ‘what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas’, the Sin City—what do you discuss? Of course, you discuss the casinos, the resorts, the seemingly utopia-like city with everything going its way. What you do not discuss, is the people within that city. The people who work dead-end jobs, the people who own the casinos and the people who are addicted to gambling and cannot support themselves anymore due to losing it all. You see, there is one man you might discuss. That one man is: James D. Masterson.

Masterson is a cold man. A man who represents the seven deadly sins in their entirety, his actions would make the standard Christian sick to their stomach due to is selfishness – his attitude, which puts himself before anybody else. Masterson is an angry man who likes to distribute his wrath, something he freely does due to him having friends in ‘high places’. Masterson once had a Nevada senator endorse the closing of a rival casino up the road from the Masterson Resort and Casino. He’s a man who loves the concept of greed, which is how he rose to the top of the empire he now rules. He can be considered a sloth due to his casual neglect for God’s words. He takes immense pride in himself, his business and anything else that practically involves him. Lust is a vital part in this man’s life, his taste for young women have derailed all three of his marriages. Masterson frequently exerts envy towards any man who has what he has not got. An example of this would be when he was once considered for a promotion when he was working for a factory in his youth. That promotion went to an equally-deserving young man, but it struck a nerve in Masterson – so much that he tried to sabotage his colleague, which resulted in him (Masterson) getting fired. Masteron also shows gluttony. He has a drinking problem – something his pride stops him from admitting.

All of these sins that James omitted gained him what he has today. James D. Masterson owns the Masterson Resort and Casino, right on The Strip in Las Vegas. A venue that is popular for hosting GAMMA’s mixed martial arts fight cards, boxing events and concerts. A venue that is popular mainly due to it’s wide variety of casino games and it’s large amount of poker tables. In some way, James D. Masterson’s wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy and gluttony has paid off. Why? Because he’s a successful businessman. And his adaptation to Sin City, has enabled him to achieve this much. What, did you think James was always like this? In fact, he wasn’t. He was once a kind, good-hearted person during his childhood. But when he moved to Las Vegas from Los Angeles at the age of twelve, things went downhill from there. Masterson’s parents divorced four years later during his high school years (and then actually become the subject of a custody battle). He had been going through a rough time at high school, and was then bullied throughout college. It was those events that lead to Masterson becoming the person he is today. It had seemed that he had adapted to the true meaning of Las Vegas. It had seemed that the events that had occurred in his childhood, prepared him for what he would be today.

Masterson had a lot of interests. Of course he took great enjoyment in wearing Armani suits, driving luxurious sports cars down the whole length of The Strip and attending high-class ****tail parties of his high-powered associates (namely with the senator mentioned earlier). But he also enjoyed simple things. Masterson liked to play a round of golf in the Las Vegas Country Club. He also enjoyed going to American Football games in various other states, he did not have a favourite team, and he just liked the brutal action that was associated with the sport. The nature of American Football, was similar to one of Masterson’s favourite pastimes…

Professional wrestling had been a love of James D. Masterson since he was a five year old boy. He used to sit in front of the television every Saturday morning to watch the weekly Supreme Wrestling Federation television shows. He even attended local wrestling events within Los Angeles (and later in Las Vegas). Wrestling had seemed to comfort Masterson in his later years. He has been heard to say that when he had been angry with something, he’d go and watch wrestling live or on one of the many video tapes he had acquired. When the Masterson Resort and Casino was first established in 1980, word has it, Masterson begged Richard Eisen for him to hold the tenth Supreme Challenge inside of it. Eisen declined the offer. He was that much the wrestling fan. But what he really wanted to do was to create his own wrestling promotion. That is how I came into this…

Chapter 1.1: The Beginning

6:00PM – Wednesday, Week One, January 2011 – Inside James D. Masterson’s Office

“Now, you see, I have all the money. I have the location. I have the equipment for this to be big.” James said in a calm manor. He was sitting in a black leather chair inside an office located deep inside of the Masterson Resort and Casino. He swivelled around in a quick motion and turned towards me. He rested his arms on the mahogany table before he reached for the glass of Jack Daniels. He took a swig of it and quickly put it down. “I’ve wanted to do this for quite a long time. In fact, I’ve been wanting to do this since I was a little boy – watching Supreme Wrestling Federation, live on the television on Saturday mornings. It’s something that I want done. It’s something that could quite possibly be a business opportunity for me and draw in more people into the casino. Do you understand what I am saying?”

I did not know what to say. In fact, the fact that he was giving me an offer to deal with the desire to own with a wrestling company, was quite overwhelming.

“Yes.”

I replied. The minimal answer showed that I had somewhat of an understanding with what he wanted to do. But it still had not set in. James D. Masterson, he had the money to just try and steal someone like Peter Michaels—the booker of Supreme Wrestling Federation—from Richard Eisen up in New England or even Joel Bryant—Total Championship Wrestling’s booker—from Tommy Cornell up in California. But he chose me. Out of all the people that could’ve undertaken this project, he chose me. It still had not set in. I mean, I was a producer and writer for several various programmes that aired on the C.A.N.N. network including their version of ‘Survivor’ – ‘The Island’.

“Now, obviously, there’s going to be a slight challenge with getting to the top. But I’m ready and willing to make that challenge for any expense. Yes, it’s going to be costly. But let’s be honest, it’s not like you’re going to fail…”

A arrogant smile etched across his face and I performed one right back, just to make it seem like I was not doubting him in anyway.

“I’m sorry, what’s your name again? It has seemed to slip from my mind…”

“Joel.”

“Ah, yes. Fine name it is. So Joel, you think you’ve got all the qualifications for undertaking this job that I have offered you?”

“Erm…Yes, yes I do. As a producer and writer, I have taken some time to write up shows for major and networks and such. I am also a major fan of wrestling, so therefore I believe I’m automatically qualified for the job – because I know what the fans want, and I’ll be able to act upon what they want with the right funding and equipment…”

Yes, I was a fan of wrestling. Unlike some of the writers up at the Supreme One building all the way in New England, I actually have enjoyed the athletic spectacle that is wrestling. Yes, I called it an ‘athletic spectacle’, that’s how I’ve seen it. Ever since I was a kid, I became fascinated with the Supreme Wrestling Federation and later Japanese promotions such as Pride Glory Honour Wrestling and Burning Hammer of the Wrestling Gods. It was from the stiff styles of the likes of PRIDE Koiso, Mito Miwa and all the way down to their current crop of wrestlers that had amazed me.

“Of course you’re going to get the right funding and equipment, what has made you say that? Is it your vision that has made you say that?” He seemed intrigued whilst popping that question. In fact, he leaned over and showed interest in what I was saying.

“Yes, my vision has made me say that…”

“What is your vision? If you do not mind me asking.”

“My vision is, is to have a wrestling promotion that is modern. To have a wrestling promotion that is all about the wrestl—“ He cut me off right at that point.

“All about the wrestling? Interesting. But you see, wrestling promotions that are all about the wrestling – they do not gain as much profit as the wrestling that is more storyline based. For example, Supreme Wrestling Federation.” At that point, it had become clear. He wanted a Supreme Wrestling Federation-esque promotion. But the problem I had with that was, it was not what I had envisioned. In fact, it was far from it, but he seemed hard-pressed on having an entertainment promotion.

“Well, uh, yes that may be a large factor going into the promotion. But I’m pretty sure, with all the funding it shall receive from you – it’ll gain profit.”

“I’m not following you here. Saying ‘I’m pretty sure’ does not mean anything from me. Either it does, or it doesn’t. One or the other. Pick one now.”

“Erm…”

“You can’t can you? You see, I wanted you for the job because it seemed like the right man. But now I’m not so sure of that. You know what? Can I tell you what I had in mind?” It would be a lie to say I did not dread what he had in mind. I knew he was a wrestling fan, but what I knew what I had in mind – what he had in mind, they were two totally different things.

“Go on…” I replied as he sat back in his chair and once again took a swig of the glass of Jack Daniels.

“What I had in mind was a promotion that focused on entertainment. A promotion that focused on entertaiunin the fans with storylines and among other things, detailed characters, much like the Supreme Wrestling Federation. And looking at the Supreme Wrestling Federation – they’re on top of their game right now. Richard Eisen is doing a fantastic job as the owner of the company and they have become of the most globally recognized promotions of today, and it’s easy to see why. Their formula is simple, it hasn’t changed. It appeals to all. Unlike that Dead or Alive rubbish on Arcadia—“

“With all do respect, it’s called Deadly Overloaded Action and it is a good concept. It has increased in popularity over the past year…”

“But, they have not achieved anything great of note. What I want, is my own version of SWF…” He was stubborn to say the least. I had heard rumours of how he got things the way he wanted. He would continue to argue against the person who wanted things differently until they gave in. Unlike the people who gave in, I was not willing to give in…

“Sir, it’s going to be hard to re-create our own version of the SWF. Look at the many promotions that are storyline based. Look at them! Many of them are on the point of falling off due to their mediocrity. I’m not saying that Supreme Wrestling Federation—or your idea is mediocre—I’m just saying, imitators can be passed off as a cheap rip-off. And as a man with alot of money, the last thing you would want to invest in is a ‘cheap rip-off’. Am I right?”

He did not respond. To further demonstrate my point, I stood up from my seat. He watched me stand. He was still calm and in fact, he was not worried about what I was about to do.

“I am going to ask this question again. Would you or would you not want to invest in a promotion that will be known as a ‘cheap rip-off’ from the get go?”

“No. No I would not want to invest in something that would be called a ‘cheap rip-off’.”

“Exactly. So you know what, why not have a wrestling-driven promotion. Because I look at it from this point. Fans want more wrestling. If you have seen the message-boards they have posted on, they all claim they want more wrestling. Yes, Total Championship Wrestling is offering decent wrestling, but the problem is, Total Championship Wrestling is not as widely available as the Supreme Wrestling Federation. Now, if we make a wrestling-driven product – it will be guaranteed to draw in fans.”

He stared at me with discontent, and I felt the job slipping from my hands. An idea had popped up in my head. An idea that would appeal to the both of us…

“…But seeing as you wanted a promotion with entertainment, I am willing to do something that I would not have done in the first place. You wanted an entertainment-driven product and I wanted a wrestling-driven product. We can combine the two to make a hybrid product. Entertainment, combined with great wrestling. There is no extra attention to both. It will allow for advancement in feuds, it will allow for great wrestling matches. I see it now…Fans packed into the Masterson Resort and Casino, waiting for the show to begin. Chanting the names of the wrestlers…Do you see it? I’m asking you, do you see it?”

James’ eyes lit up as if he came up with the idea himself. He stood up just as I sat back down and wandered over to the window and gazed into his reflection, with a smile on his face.

“That is brilliant! Why didn’t I think of this earlier? A product that’ll appeal to a wider audience! Now, that’s the thinking that I wanted from you. That is the idea that could really take this promotion off the ground. However, for this promotion to come together…You’re going to have to do the rest of the work.”

“Wait…what?”

“I’ll provide production and funding – meaning you’ll have money and a suitable place to hold the wrestling events. And you, well, you need to employ workers and make me some money.”

“So, does that mean I’m hired?”

“Of course it does. Now, take a rest, and tomorrow – get to work. Sin City Pro will be the greatest wrestling show on earth.”

“Sin City Pro?”

“That is the name of my promotion. It has a nice ring to it since it’s going to be based in Las Vegas, the ‘Sin City’. Now, get out of here…Rest…You’ve got a long day a head of you tomorrow. I mean hiring wrestlers is not that easy I believe…”

Good set-up. From Masterson's profile being tied in with the seven deadly sins, to your choice of venue and promotion style/name. Ever since I read up on some of Bischoff's plans to rebuild WCW out of Vegas I've always been keen to take on a similar scenario. Bonus points too for linking in another dynasty and using it as canon - I've always been a fan of that. I'm not concerned about you being nooby in your recruitment, just build the best roster to tell your story.

On a sidenote, glad to see RFP will keep rolling and given your work on that, I've got high hopes for this project. In other words, I'm 'in'.

Now the first entrance is the entrance where all the big celebrities and all the gambling addicts walk in to play on the slots and get their dose of blackjack. The first entrance is out to the public and is pretty much like the entrance of a local superstore – minus the greeter. Now, Masterson permitted me to enter at the second entrance – which was in a private car-park. I drove to the private car-park and a security guard met me. He peered through the half-open window of my Lexus and let me through. It seemed like he already knew who I was. Once I parked the car, I stepped out and made my way to the entrance.

The second entrance was where all the accountants, employees and such entered. It seemed like just a regular workplace. It was also where the workers also stood when they were smoking, and on this morning, a few of them were smoking – and quite frankly all they did was bitch. As I walked past the haze of smoke and a short, stocky man told his colleagues of his ‘crazy’ night where he supposedly had a bunch of strippers dancing with him. They knew he was lying and I knew it too. It was not my business however and I continued past. I entered the entrance into a small lobby. Adjacent from the doors sat a young woman receptionist called Linda. Linda looked like a model. Her face was well-made up—blusher, bright red lipstick, the works—and she had the type of hair that you would only see on the hair shampoo commercials – blonde and silky smooth. With her bright blue eyes and refined looks, she spotted me from across the lobby…

“You’re Masterson’s new business partner?” she asked.

“Business partner?” I replied, I was confused, to say the least. I never opted for the title ‘business partner’, but I guess it had to be.

“That’s what he’s been calling you. If you’re hear to see him, he’s down the corridor in the meeting room – fifth door on the right.” She finished her sentence and pointed in the direction of the corridor.

I nodded in understanding and made my way down the corridor and adjusted my suit jacket when before I let myself in. When the door opened, it revealed a fairly large meeting room with a table that took up most of the space. Sat in a stone-grey suit and sipping a glass of brandy (despite it being nearly eleven o’clock in the morning). He slammed down the glass with fury as if he was angry, but he smiled and stared at me.

“Just the man I was waiting for…”

He stood and came over to where I stood, and embraced me with a hug. I thought he was drunk and questioned him during the movement, however he said the brandy was his ‘first glass’; we both knew it wasn’t true. We both sat down in the empty meeting room which was well-heated by a state-of-the-art central heating system and it also had a projector screen which hung from the ceiling, but there was no projector.

“Did Linda lead you here?”

“Yeah, she did…”

“Nice ass on her, am I right?”

I just stared at James D. Richardson with the intent of saying “This is why you get sexual harassment lawsuits.” but I kept that within and nodded. Not that I was not looking but that was beside the point.

“So Joel, what have you got for me?”

I looked at him and smiled. I placed my suitcase on the table and pulled out my laptop and a small projector. I hooked them both up together and aimed the projector at the projector screen as the laptop was already on the Google Chrome internet browser I did not use any other internet browser. Mozilla is just terrible compared to what it used to be and Internet Explorer is just terrible, nothing to compare it to what it used to be because it was terrible back in the day too. Masterson looked intrigued at what I was going to do and when I typed in the URL of YouTube, he seemed even more interested. I typed in the name ‘Darryl Devine’ and hit the enter button and allowed the whole thing to load, when it did, the first video I clicked was his latest match in USPW against Des Davids – a match that he was carrying.

“Hm. Why are you showing me this?”

“Because James, this man could make us some money. The man has the in-ring skill to carry the company’s main event scene.”

The reaction James made once Devine hit a moonsault from the top rope to the floor was priceless. He did not know what was going to happen; in fact he jumped out of his seat and expressed his amazement at the stunt, but then came the question…

“As good as this guy is in the ring, how is he on the microphone? Because if you’re so positive that he’ll lead the company, then he HAS to be good on the microphone – he can’t just be the silent type, which does not know how to speak on the microphone.”

“Good? It seems highly unlikely that USPW would want to resign him – he is not over forty and he has not been in Supreme Wrestling Federation at all. Plus every major company has seemed to miss out on his contract running out. It does not seem that SWF want him anyway because he is slightly injury prone – Total Championship Wrestling; they don’t want him either thanks to the same problem.”

“That is good.
Chapter 1.3: The Arena Complex

9:52AM – Saturday, Week One, January 2011 – Masterson Resort and Casino

Saturday had arrived and once again, I drove in to the second entrance’s car park at the Masterson Resort and Casino. Unlike the last time however, I was not greeted by Linda, in fact I was greeted by Masterson himself. James was dressed smartly and invited me inside. We went past the meeting room as I questioned where we were going.

“You’ll see in a minute…I think you’ll enjoy this.”

The whole situation itself was confusing. I did not know where he was taking me and to be honest, I felt like a child on Christmas Eve who did not know what he had gotten. Corridor after corridor we passed until we finally entered the casino part of the Masterson Resort and Casino complex.

“So Joel, did you get to Marshall?”

“Yes, he was more than willing to sign. He asked if he could work his old cowboy gimmick and I granted him to opportunity to do so…”

“Good, good, good.”

We passed several ‘customers’ gambling away their hard-earned money. Some were on the slot machines, pushing pennies into it constantly as they looked to line up something as small as three lemons which offered ten cents. Others were crowded around the roulette table, and placing all their chips on black. I passed a business man who was sweating profusely; tie and shirt loosened. He placed all of his chips on black only for red to come out. The whole walk through the casino made me realise that Masterson made his money out of the misfortune of others and gambling addicts. I could live with that, but it was wrong on so many moral levels.

The end of the casino part of the complex was near as Masterson soon had a smile etched across his face. He was grinning ear-to-ear, it seemed like he had just seen a young woman in a bikini. We both reached a door. He pushed down on the handle of it and opened it, which revealed an arena.

“This, this is what I wanted to show you.”

It came as a shock to me, in fact, I wondered if he built this over the course of the week – but those thoughts were dashed when he continued to speak.

“…This is where I hold events such as concerts and mixed-martial arts events. GAMMA comes here on a regular basis for it’s fight cards and have helped contribute to the—transformation, if you could use that term—of the place. When used to it’s full capacity, it can hold up to ten-thousand people.”

I looked around as builders put up a huge screen and was setting up things such as girders and a stage. They had also added new lighting to the place, so that there could be more ‘feeling’ to the events held here. For example, it is no secret that GAMMA loves it’s intimate atmosphere for it’s events and it is no secret that Oscar De La Hoya loves the ‘intimate’ atmosphere for boxing fights that include his fighters that are with Golden Boy Promotions. But despite all this work looking entirely successful, there had been a problem. And that problem had to be addressed to James through a young man. This young man was not that big nor was he scrawny. He seemed nervous and carried his hardhat in his hands and held it to his waist like Oliver did in Oliver Twist when he asked for more food. Anxiety had taken over this young man as he tried to catch James’ attention…

“U-uh-uh, Mi-Mi-Mister Masterson?”

James totally ignored the young man.

“M-Mi-Mister Masterson?”

Masterson turned slightly and faced the young builder, who at this point trembled in his boots.

“Yes?”

“Th-th-there’s be-be-been a problem.”

“A what?”

Masterson slightly tilted his head and stood over the builder…

“The-the-there’s been a problem.”

Masterson edged closer to the builder…

“Be more specific boy.”

Masterson’s emphasis on the word ‘boy’ signalled that he was angry. The usage of the word boy itself without the emphasis would have signalled this as well.

“Th-th-the latest batch of stage equipment that you had ordered…M-m-most of it’s f-f-faulty.”

James turned to me and asked me to ‘wait one minute’ as he took a deep breath and turned back to the boy…

“What the **** do you mean there’s a problem with the stage equipment? I paid for some of the best stage equipment that money has to offer and you tell me that there’s a ****ing problem? Do you know how much that cost?”

“I-I-I d-d-don’t kn—“

“I am asking you: DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH ALL OF THAT ****ING COSTS?”

The builder flinched at Masterson’s change of tone. He was intimidated. In fact, I could see sweat roll down the side of his temple from the fear that had been forced upon him by Masterson.

“THAT COST ME $25,000! THAT’S MORE THAN YOUR WAGES!”

I felt bad for the kid, I mean it was not his fault by any stretch and having Masterson shout at him was hardly good, let alone Masterson berating him.

“Go and tell your boss that I will not stand for this **** up – in fact tell him that he ought to be going out and fixing every single faulty ****ing light, every single girder and every-****ing-thing before I fire him and his lazy ass! Go! Now!”

The builder ran off and this would be the first time that I would see James lash out at someone. Yes, I had heard the stories about his bad temper – however, I did not see it in person. In fact, I did not think it would be that bad. And at that very moment, I pictured myself in the builder’s shoes – and I shuddered. James had turned red with anger and sweat dripped from his forehead. He took out a handkerchief from his pocket and dabbed his forehead before he returned his focus to me…

“Now, where was I?”

“We were talking about the capacity of this place. You said it can hold ten-thousand people…Do you really think we could ever sell it out? I mean, it’s going to take years if we were going to…”

“I know, I know. But this arena is adjustable. The amount of seats can be decreased for your events too. Now, lets get back onto the subject of talent…Who else have you acquired the services of?”

We both walked out of the arena and back into the casino area on our way back to the offices.

“Who else have I acquired? Well James, I made a few phone calls and looked around and I’ve gotten a person named John Pathlow.”

“Who?”

“Hell Monkey?”

“Never heard of him.”

“…C’mon, you have to be kidding me here. Hell Monkey is one of the best wrestlers on the planet. He works a totally realistic hard-hitting style and has pretty much had a fantastic year in terms of matches—“

“Can he cut a promo though? Can he work the crowd?”

“He’ll work better with a gimmick that is like a ‘silent assassin’ type, erm, how can I put this? Like Enforcer Roberts. A technical assassin, but unlike Roberts he’s exciting and hard-hitting.”

“Uh-huh, alright, what else you got for me? Make it quick.”

“We finally signed Darryl Devine. Much like Marshall, he was more than willing to sign with us. And I’ve got a great gimmick for him too—“

“Alright, alright, alright – nice to see you doing well and everything, but I gotta take this call and scoot off, so send me an e-mail of who you have got and what you’re planning, alright?”

Before I could even answer, he disappeared. I basically looked around for him and could not find him anywhere. It looked like I was going to have to send him an e-mail of everything. Character breakdowns and the schedule for the events.

Chapter 1.4: Meeting Running Wolf

13:06PM – Saturday, Week Two, January 2011 – Masterson Resort and Casino

On a Tuesday morning, Masterson called me in to his office. He claimed that this was ‘important’. When I got the message, I was holed up in my hotel room using my laptop and typing up various notes to do with the promotion whilst blasting out some old school Wu-Tang Clan hits. Yes, I got a few complaints, but it worked as a great stress reliever. And on the plus side, listening to Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s crazy, out-of-this-world lyrics made the experience of typing up notes more pleasant. I rode into the alternate entrance of the Masterson Resort and Casino and parked up my car in a designated spot. Much like on Saturday – the day which I first saw Masterson blow his top – James welcomed me inside.

“I have something to show you…” he said to me as he welcomed me in.

We went to the meeting office and there sat two men. One was a small man in a stone-coloured suit. The other was a fairly large man wearing a vest and jeans. The latter had a lot of muscle and it seemed like he was a bodybuilder. In fact, these two men were friends of Masterson. The small man introduced himself to me as Michael Makwa. A Native American, Makwa was a business partner of Masterson. The two understood each other greatly due to similar ruthless business attitudes. Whilst Makwa was more respectful and less-inclined to emit the seven sins like James did, he could still be incredibly ruthless to others.

“O’siyo Oginallii Tsilugi! You must be Joel.” said Makwa. The term ‘O’siyo Oginallii Tsilugi’ was a Native American greeting which stood for ‘Hello friends, welcome!’, and Makwa made me feel very welcome. He shook my hand and embraced me with a brotherly hug.

“Correct.” I responded.

“James has been telling me ALOT about you. He says you’re running his latest project. What is it now? I’ve got the name in my head, but I can’t say it—a wrestling promotion, that’s it!”

I stood right in front of him, arms crossed and interested in what he had to say.

“Joel, sitting down, right next to me is my son – Jacy. Hey, Jacy come over here!”

The large man stood out of the seat and walked over. He stood right next to me and towered over me. He did not say a word until he extended his hand. I accepted the handshake and he introduced himself.

“My name is Jacy Makwa. I am also known as ‘Running Wolf’,” he said with his deep monotone voice. He smiled and I smiled back at him to show that I was comfortable with him towering over me. “I am a wrestler.” he added.

I looked up at him and scanned his whole frame. His father spoke again.

“You see, my son, he just started out. He has wanted to be a wrestler for most of his life. He has wanted to be the next, whatshisname…Oh god, his name’s escaped me…Chief Two Eagles! My son has always wanted to be the next Chief Two Eagles. He was a massive fan of wrestling, but when he saw a bunch of old wrestling tapes that I had brought for him – he loved Chief Two Eagles, because he represented us, y’know?”

I nodded in response.

“So what do you want me to do?”

“Give him a chance.”

“Mr. Makwa, with all do respect—“

Masterson cut me off and pulled me to one side. He started to whisper in my ear…

“You can give the kid a chance, right? C’mon, it’s not that hard.” he whispered as I closed my eyes and sighed. He continued to try and persuade me to give him a chance. “Look at him, he’s got the superstar look. Yeah sure, we’re not sure that he can work – but we can transform him into a superstar. Give him a chance!” Once again I sighed as Masterson tried his best to change my decision and eventually, it worked. Once again, I closed my eyes and sighed…

“Alright…”

The young kid was clearly overjoyed and I would be too, if somebody who was not going to give me a position was persuaded to do so. But I prayed that Masterson was right. I did not want to make the kid embarrass himself on his first major show. I didn’t want him to be booed out the building because of two reasons. Reason number one, he’s a natural born babyface. The kid is a Native American – everybody loves to cheer a Native American. Americans took their land, so the least we could do is cheer for them. And two, as Masterson said, he has the superstar look. He’s tall, he’s heavily-muscled, what more could I ask for? In fact, it didn’t matter whether he could wrestle or not because I could always get someone like KC or Darryl to carry him in a match, however, I wanted to prove his worth. The father and son duo left extremely happy, and that left me and Masterson to talk. What I wanted to talk about was the card I had produced for our first Sin City Pro show. We sat down at the meeting table as I slid a poster across to him…

Sin City Pro Presents…

THE BEGINNING

Live From: The Masterson Resort and Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada

Thursday, Week One, February 2011

Special Tag Team Main Event

‘Mighty Fine’ Darryl Devine and John Pathlow versus Mainstream Hernandez and American Elemental

Women’s Contest

‘Payback’ Emma Bitch versus Amber Allen

David versus Goliath

Jonnie Perez versus Atlas Nash

Tag Team Match

The Ring Generals versus Too Sweet

Singles Match

Marshall Dillon versus KC Glenn

He took a glance of the poster and the match card that I had produced.

“Looks nice,” he told me whilst he stroked his chin. “Solid match card you got here, and it’s on a Thursday? Singles Match

Marshall Dillon versus KC Glenn - Dillon's a big favourite of mine but Glenn is just awesome.

The build-up continues to be an interesting read. You've got a good mix of talent on your roster, including a few of my favourite lesser-lights.

Anyway, predictions...

Special Tag Team Main Event

‘Mighty Fine’ Darryl Devine and John Pathlow versus Mainstream Hernandez and American Elemental

No bonus points for pushing Devine, but he seems likely to be your key player and Pathlow is definitely worth investing in.

Women’s Contest

‘Payback’ Emma Bitch versus Amber Allen

Coin flip.

David versus Goliath

Jonnie Perez versus Atlas Nash

Hmmm, my head says bank on Nash, but then David could have his day unless this is to be a serial challenge kinda deal.

Tag Team Match

The Ring Generals versus Too Sweet

They probably won't win, but they hold a special place in my heart.

Singles Match

Marshall Dillon versus KC Glenn

Lariat for teh win.

Glenn—the quicker of the two—starts to outpace the large Texan and keeps him back with a series of dropkicks. Glenn continues to control the match and eventually brings Dillon down onto the canvas with an arm drag and holds on to his right arm to apply a modified armlock. The Atlanta native continues to wrench back on the arm, but suddenly Dillon starts to stand. He throws Glenn over his shoulder and runs towards the ropes. KC attempts to shake off the cobwebs from his head but he is viciously knocked down by Marshall’s big boot. The man who was trained by Joey Minnesota is left leaning on the bottom rope and Dillon decides to pick up the pieces from his facewash and finish the match. Both ‘Deadly’ Dean Waldorf and ‘Marvellous’ Marv Statler take a tumble to the floor as the breakdancing duo of TJ Bailey and Too Hot perform a moonwalk in stereo and prepare for something big. Bailey kneels down near the ropes as Hot charges across the ring. Using Bailey’s two hands as a launch pad, Hot launches off on one foot and comes down on both Waldorf and Statler, knocking them down! Both members of Rich and Famous start to pound away at their opponents with the ten-punch, but the crowd simply refuse to count along. On the ninth punch, Turner and Manna shove their respective opponents off the top rope and start to stage a comeback. However, the four men do not realise that Too Hot is making his way to the top rope and by the time they do, it is too late. Hot jumps off the top rope with a massive crossbody, taking out all four men; he attempts to pin Manna, but the pinfall is broken up by Dean Waldorf.

Waldorf pulls the fiery-haired breakdancer off Manna and starts to rock him with several right hands. Dean stumbles to the ropes where Hot follows up with a series of chops and punches before dragging ‘Deadly’ Dean to the middle of the ring and hitting a snap suplex. Just as Hot performs a kip-up, Rich and Famous grab him. ‘Hollywood’ lifts him up for a powerbomb whilst ‘High Roller’ goes for the neckbreaker. They nail the Take It To The Bank and right before they could make the pinfall, Bailey dropkicks them (one foot for each man).

This takes the Rich and Famous out of the equation but TJ did not know what was to come next. Allen hits the canvas with a loud thud and ‘Payback’ squats over her, throwing punches to her fallen opponent. Relentless in her attack, Bitch soon sits on the stomach of Allen and continues to throw punches, but the young technician is able to wiggle out of the situation and get the match to a vertical base. The two women circle each other for a few seconds before engaging in a lock-up. The technical ability of Amber allows her to swiftly takedown Bitch with a headlock takeover and from there she keeps the headlock locked in. ‘Payback’ is able to show her flexibility and wrap her legs around the throat of her opponent which forces a break in the hold. The two once again get to a vertical base, but Allen is the first to strike with an arm drag.

She throws Bitch across the whole length of the ring as ‘Payback’ is groggy when she stands. She stares across the ring, only to see an oncoming Allen charging at her. Bitch ducks down and throws Allen over onto the apron with a back body drop, in hopes of taking her out of the match to allow her to get her breathe back but Amber grips onto the top rope and keeps herself on the apron. The blonde stands on the apron whilst her dark-haired opponent twists herself around and realises what has happened. Instantaneously Emma lunges for a right hand, however, Amber dodges the strike and nails a well placed open palm slap, sending Bitch back.

Once she hops inside the ring, she looks to take out Bitch with a clothesline but Bitch counters with the same brutal forearm that knocked Allen down in the opening moments of the match. This time, it knocks her back into the ropes but like the last time, Bitch goes in for the kill. The brawler throws punches and kicks before dragging Allen into the middle of the ring and planting her with a suplex, for a two. The ruthless Emma Bitch pulls Allen up by her long blonde hair and slams her down onto the canvas with a scoop slam. The power of the elementary slam stuns Allen for a brief moment as Bitch drops the elbow across the sternum, for yet another two.

At this point in time, ‘Payback’ decides it is finally time to finish off her opponent and lifts her up by her hair once again. She shoves Allen in-between her legs and hooks the arms, but in a sudden surge of life, Allen spins out; a kick to the gut sends Bitch down onto one knee and from there, Allen is able to viciously pound away at her right arm. Seconds later, Allen slaps on her Cross Arm Breaker! She tears away at the right arm of Emma Bitch who tries desperately to break the hold. Numerous attempts fail and she resorts to dragging herself across the ring to the ropes, but the pain becomes too much and she soon taps out furiously. Amber keeps the hold on for another few seconds before releasing it.

AMBER ALLEN defeats EMMA BITCH in 11:39 by submission after locking in a Cross Arm Breaker.

Rating: D+

Louis Griffin: “What an impressive win by Allen, she definitely has proven she belongs in the company!”

Cueball Lynch: “Really? Really? Thank you for stating the obvious. Atlas Nash stares down on his much smaller opponent and smiles at the high-flier, he gives Jonnie a chance to land a punch on him and spreads his arms out to prove that he would not stop a strike. Taking his chances, Jonnie looks to go for a punch but feints and ends up delivering a dropkick to the knee. The 6’10 bulldozer kneels down and Perez hits the ropes, rebounding and coming back with a massive dropkick. Atlas descends onto the canvas as the ‘Dirty Dog’ immediately goes to the place he likes to call home: the top turnbuckle. Atlas sits up and erects himself to a standing position. Perez leaps off with a cross body block, but is caught by the giant. He struggles greatly to break out of his opponents grip, but is propelled into a crucifix position. Atlas charges to the south side of the ring and hurls Jonnie with a massive Kronus Bomb! As soon as Hernandez slides in, Pathlow comes down on him like a ton of bricks with a double axe handle! Adrian Garcia is seen on the outside with a towel as he dabs it on the forehead of Devine as the man who likes to call himself ‘Mighty Fine’ makes his way to his teams corner. Back inside the ring, Pathlow continues his reign of dominance. He tosses the Canadian into the ropes which forces him to ricochet back to John and a massive overhead belly-to-belly suplex! Hernandez is slow to get to his feet after such a vicious suplex, the crowd’s support however helps him back onto his feet and he starts to mount a comeback. Dodging strikes from Pathlow, Hernandez counter-strikes with punches and kicks and is able to neutralise the mixed martial artist.

Pathlow attempts to close the distance but he is kept back by Hernandez’s strikes which eventually leads to a flurry of punches coming from the two-time Rip Chord Invitational winner. Mainstream runs back and takes Pathlow for a ride with the spinning headscissors! The mixed martial artist crawls over to Darryl Devine, beaten, and tags out to Darryl. Devine hops inside the ring and invites Hernandez to make the first move, but instead Hernandez quickly charges in and takes the ‘Chosen One’ by surprise with a roll-up which scores a two. Devine kicks out with force and gets back onto his feet as once again he is taken down by Hernandez with a roll-up. Unlike the previous time, Devine is able to counter the roll-up and get to his feet. He hops over a confused Hernandez with a sunset flip and attempts to score the pin, but Hernandez kicks out!

American Elemental appears on the apron after the beating he received at the beginning of the match. He starts to favour his left shoulder, but is able to encourage the fans to cheer on Hernandez. Back inside the squared-circle, Devine grabs a hold of Hernandez’s right arm and applies a hammerlock. He holds onto his opponent’s right arm and cranks up the pressure on the hold. In an attempt to take a step further, Devine tries to lift up Hernandez for a back suplex whilst the hammerlock is still applied, but Hernandez rolls out and dives to American Elemental, getting the tag. The masked wrestler leaps into the ring and quickly whips up a storm. Dodging clotheslines and outpacing Devine, Elemental scores several pinfall attempts before hopping onto the middle rope and springboarding off with a massive dropkick! He scrambles and hooks the leg to gain a two-count, from there, Elemental brings the ‘Mighty Fine’ one to his feet and dashes to the ropes, only to get tripped by Adrian Garcia whilst John Pathlow catches the attention of referee Chad Petruzelli.

Elemental stumbles right into a kick to the gut and a DDT as Devine soon works him over. To add insult to injury, the ‘Chosen One’ begins to tear away at the mask of American Elemental. The ‘Red, White and Blue Lightning’ tries to break out of the camel clutch and does, but for a brief second as he is brought down to the canvas with a scoop slam. Devine tags out to his partner who picks up from where he left off. He brings Elemental to a seated position and tries to take off his mask, but the attempts fail as the masked wrestler is able to stand and hit a jawbreaker, which sends Pathlow staggering back. Seizing the opportunity, Elemental gains some momentum by running to the ropes but is caught by Pathlow who applies a sleeper hold which he then converts into a Rear Naked Choke!

Pathlow continues to choke the life out of American Elemental until Mainstream Hernandez makes the save and is escorted back to his corner by the referee. Wow - awesome show! Really enjoyed that one despite the write-ups being longer than I'm usually keen on. Great to see Amber doing well and the tag scene is immediately interesting me.

Solid first show. Nice to see Michael Bull getting a bit of spotlight too, that was nice play on his gimmick/bio. Slightly surprised by the main event conclusion, but then it made sense to knock the 'chosen one' down a notch or two... even if Adrian Garcia didn't exactly earn his money for his new client (even if he did eat a superkick to the face).

Chapter 1.5: Post-Show

22:39PM – Thursday, Week One, February 2011

Sin City Pro’s first show went better than I expected. The main event was arguably the best match of the night followed by the opening match and the women’s match. The road agent responsible for those matches was Crippler Ray Kingman. Kingman, who holds the title for being the ‘best technical wrestler of the 70’s and 80’s’ was hired by me so that he could not only help the way matches were planned out, but give some advice to the workers with little talent on the roster. However, Kingman was also the owner of Deadly Overloaded Action. Deadly Overloaded Action was Arcadia’s answer to wrestling. DOA was like DaVE, but more intense and in some ways more violent. Their stars range from the high-flier Acid to the huge muscle mountain Jumbo Jackson (named Avalanche for copyright reasons); their main star in the promotion was Shawn Gonzalez. Gonzalez had a long storied career and at the age of forty, he was still going.

Deadly Overloaded Action did not have a television deal on Arcadia however. Instead, they had a pay-per-view deal set up with U-Demand and the ratings for those pay-per-views were slowly increasing. I met up with Kingman at one of the many bars scattered around the Masterson Resort and Casino complex. He was seated on a bar stool, ordering a large glass of beer. He took a sip and swung round on the stool, turning to me and he invited me to sit down.

“You got some mighty fine talent here.” said Kingman as he once again took another sip from his beer. Once he placed the glass down, the foam from the beer was dripping from his goatee. He stroked his chin and flicked the foam off before continuing. “Everyone fits into place, saying that though, there seems to be a few problems…”

“Problems?” I glanced at Kingman whilst he once again sipped the beer.

“Yup. Do you want me to explain?”

“Go ahead.”

“First of all, the gimmicks of certain wrestlers are not getting them over one bit. For example, Atlas Nash. His monster gimmick just does not suit him. I would not change it now, but the fact is, despite his size, he lacks power. Sure he’s a strong guy – beat me in an arm wrestle earlier – but he’s not ‘monster’ strong. You’re going to have to work around that and make him seem like the biggest badass there is on the roster.”

“Anything else to do with gimmicks?” I asked.

“Marshall Dillon fits into his gimmick nicely. It seems like he knows what he is doing and he is doing it right. I guess what they’re teaching people down in Rhode Island Pro Wrestling actually works. I can speak the same for Marv Statler, he’s fitted into his gimmick perfectly. Though there’s a slight slip to that, his partner Dean Waldorf, he is not doing the same.”

“I see. So you’re saying I’m going to have to run with these gimmicks I’ve placed on these wrestlers? Why is that?”

“Fans don’t like change,” Kingman at that moment finished his glass of beer and turned towards me, giving me his full attention: “They do not like change, one bit. Especially change on a regular basis. If you were to change everyone’s gimmicks – there would be repercussions to what you have done.”

“What sort of repercussions are we talking about?” I replied.

“The fans will turn on wrestlers, they’ll start to walk out of shows and you won’t earn that much money – something that your boss James D. Masterson would not like at all.”

“Interesting.”

“Have you got anything planned for your next show?”

“Erm, no, haven’t got round to that.”

“Well, you need to get round to that tomorrow – always plan. If you stop planning, you will fall behind.”

“Thanks for the tip.” I got up off the stool and was about to head to Masterson’s office, but Kingman stopped me in my tracks…

“Joel, if you need anything – I’ll be willing to let you use some of the resources from Deadly Overloaded Action. It’s the least that I can do to help you.”

“Uh-uh, thanks Kingman.”

I walked away from the bar and made my way to Masterson’s office. Masterson was packing away his things…

“Hey, James! The show can be considered a success!” I shouted loudly. The loudness of my shouting seemed to have startled James as he stuffed his laptop into a laptop bag.

“Alright, alright, I can hear you. It was a great night of action, well done putting the show together. And thank you for putting me on the show, never thought I’d be a character on the show. Hope you’ll use me again.”

Prior to the show, at the last minute, James asked if he could go out there and do an introduction. Of course that lead to the ‘Chosen One’ angle with Darryl Devine. The fans seemed to have treated Masterson with hostility. The way Masterson carried himself through the opening promo was pretty much professional. It was like he was a larger-than-life version of himself. More of an arrogant prick, because of this, he’s made a great heel character.

“Oh, I’ll use you again sir, don’t worry.”

“You better, because I AM your boss and if you don’t, you’ll be fired.” A serious tone was taken with that whole sentence as he put on a very angry face and placed his hand on my shoulder, giving me a cold stare. It would be a lie if I say I was not scared, in fact, it seemed like he was giving me an ultimatum. But it came as a relief when he started laughing at me. “Ha! Look at your face, you thought I was serious! Oh God, that’s priceless. Anyway kid, I’ve got to go…”

“Wait! Before you go, I would like to tell you that we have got a deal with Deadly Overloaded Action – a working agreement.”

“What?”

“An agreement where we’ll work together and maybe trade stars…”

“And you done this without telling me?”

“Ray, uh, he brought it up when I was sitting down with him earlier. Said he’d help us out if we needed anybody.”

“That bastard.” he replied coldly. Rage had come over him.

“What do you mean ‘that bastard’? This is great! We’ll hopefully benefit from this.”

“I mean ‘that bastard’ because he’s assuming we’re weak. Don’t you see, he’s taking pride in helping us – or possibly setting up to stab us in the back.”

“With all do respect sir, Ray is a trustworthy person.”

“…I don’t trust him.”

“Don’t you see? We can benefit from this. More promotion, more stars coming in. It’s a good thing.”

“No, no it’s not. He’s most probably scheming to stab us in the back. But you know what, since it’s your choice – I’ll let you go with it. And if he stabs us in the back, your job will be going to someone else. Next time, if you’re going to make agreements with people – make sure that I am there at all times.”

“Yes sir.”

Masterson hurried off into the night, seemingly angry at what I had done. I packed all my stuff away and left the Masterson Resort and Casino complex shortly after.

Chapter 1.6: The Letter

9:00AM – Monday, Week Three, February 2011 – Masterson Resort & Casino

If I looked back on ‘The Beginning’, I would say it was a highly successful event. It established everything very well and it has pretty much given us momentum heading into the next show. I had been called by James to attend a meeting and once I pulled into the car park and entered the alternate entrance of the Masterson Resort & Casino, Linda was standing there, waiting for me. Dressed in a white blouse and black skirt with her hair tied, she handed me a letter.

“It’s from James, he is not here today due to other arrangements, but he’s sent you this.”

Instantly I thought the worst. I thought that he had sent me my walking papers. In fact, I took a huge breathe and tried to cover my nervousness. Taking the letter from Linda, I said thank you and walked back to my car. Once inside, I couldn’t help but tear away at the envelope to see this:

Dear Joel,

I am sorry I could not be here today as I have business concerning sponsorship deals for the casino and possibly the wrestling company. Now, what I originally asked for you to come here for was to discuss some things concerning the wrestling company. Obviously I have to apologise for my reaction last week when you announced that we had a deal with Deadly Overloaded Action, but I have to enforce the fact that you need to ask me before you go and do these inter-promotional deals. But I hope this is the first and last mistake of that kind you make.

Nonetheless, I have some ‘objectives’ for you to complete. In order for our company to succeed, you will need to hit targets set and these targets should not be hard to achieve. In fact, these targets will give you something to aim for, give you something to accomplish. But here’s what I would like you to achieve:

  • Sin City Pro must enter different markets across the United States and achieve a successful growth. This will allow us a plethora of opportunities to do with exposure including more sponsorship deals and eventually a television or pay-per-view deal.
(Sin City must have risen in size to at least Cult size – Critical, Expires in 23 Months, 3 Weeks)

  • Within two years, Sin City Pro must be considered a ‘Top 25’ promotion by wrestling outlets worldwide.
(When the time expires, Sin City must have improved upon it’s promotional ranking of #25 – Critical, Expires in 27 Months, 3 Weeks)

  • I would like to have wrestlers who are tough. This is not a necessity but it would be nice.
(You cannot hire or extend the contract of any wrestler that has less than a D- in toughness – Average, Expires in 17 Months, 3 Weeks)

  • Finally, this promotion should turn its focus on the young, future stars of today. We are not United States Pro Wrestling; we do not focus on the elderly wrestlers.
(You can’t hire any wrestler over the age of 40 – Average, Expires in 19 Months, 3 Weeks)

It is imperative that you do not fail.

From,

James D. Masterson

I was relieved and quite frankly, it seemed like I had work to do in order to achieve what Masterson calls a ‘successful growth’. Entering another market would be hard. However, I believed that it would be easy to improve our ranking of #25 in the promotional tables on various wrestling outlets. I drove back to the hotel and started to focus on our next event…

Chapter 1.7: The Champion’s Festival

18:45PM – Friday, Week Three, February 2011 – Michael Bitelli’s Bistro

It had been no secret that James D. Masterson enjoyed fine dining. In fact, Masterson was a man who frequently took out his business associates to expensive restaurants to discuss things to do with the Masterson Resort & Casino. Masterson visited these expensive restaurants so much; he had befriended the owners of the restaurants and had pretty much ensured himself a discount on most meals for him and his associates. A man that he had befriended was Michael Bitelli. Bitelli was an Italian-American, his grandparents had immigrated to the United States shortly after the end of World War II with his young father Louie Bitelli. Louie Bitelli met Adrianna Balducci and then Michael was born in 1970 once the pair was married.

Michael came out to greet me and Masterson. Michael had slicked back black hair and he had a striking resemblance to Martin Sheen when he was much younger. Michael greeted James with a handshake and they exchanged words before he stepped up to me and looked up and down before shaking hands with me. He asked James who I was and James did not refer to me by name, instead he referred to me as a ‘business associate’. We both took a seat on a table and ordered meals. Masterson ordered a steak, medium rare with all the trimmings whilst I originally ordered pasta; Masterson changed my mind into getting a medium rare steak.

“How’s things going?” James asked as we both waited for our dishes. He went on to ask another question a few seconds after the last. “You got my letter, right?”

“Yes, I did.”

“So what do you think of the objectives I’ve set you? Do you think you can complete them? Do you think you’ll be able to do it? I need to know now and not when the deadlines are up.”

“They are not impossible to complete,” I said. “However, there may be a slight issue with taking our product into different markets. We’d need to establish our own market here first.”

“I see what you are saying, but that shouldn’t be too hard, you said our show has been a success, right?”

“Yes, it was a massive success. And I guess we’re going to be talking about our next one?”

“That is why I invited you out actuall—here’s our dishes.”

A waitress put down our steaks on the table and soon left as James took a fork and jabbed it straight into the steak before attempting to cut it apart. The viciousness in his way of pulling the steak apart was amusing. It had seemed like he was an animal. Me? I took a much more elegant approach to cutting up my steak. Once he had torn it apart, he continued speaking…

“Where was I? Oh yes, that is why I invited you out here tonight, our next show. I’ve got a couple of things for you to look at.”

He reached into his suitcase and pulled out several pictures and placed them face down. A smile etched across his face as he slid them towards me.

“Go on, flip ‘em over.”

I flipped the pictures over to see title belts. The first picture was of the Sin City Heavyweight title, the second the Sin City Tag Team, the third the Sin City Television and the forth the Sin City Women’s.

“Wow…So I guess…”

“You can use them straight away, yes. And quite frankly, at next months show, I would like it to revolve around these titles.”

He placed a piece of steak that he had torn from the bone in his mouth…

“I did have an idea for champions to be crowned, but I didn’t expect you to go out and get the titles made immediately. But that has saved us a lot of time. The next event I planned out is set for the first Thursday in March, don’t know if there is any events going on inside the arena complex, is there?”

“Nope, the whole place is not booked for that date. I’ll go and book it out. What do you have in mind?”

“I’ll send you an e-mail as it’ll take too long to discuss here, but my plans will certainly be good.”

I slipped a piece of steak into my mouth and chewed away whilst James still had that smile on his face. But he wanted to go back on the issue of objectives.

“…Can we talk about one more thing? The objectives. You said you would have a slight problem with getting into different markets, what did you mean by that?”

“What I meant was that in order to get into different markets, we would need to actually partner up with several promotions. But obviously, I would need your consent to stage meetings and such.”

“You’re damn right you need my consent.”

“Uh, we’d also need to hold shows outside of the arena complex. And I mean rent out arenas, which will be expensive. So teaming up with other promotions in other markets would allow us to get arenas cheaply.”

“I get what you’re saying.”

“But James, what I ask of you is to have free reign on these meetings. Without your consent, I’d be able to get alot done. And plus, you’d sit in on the meetings anyway.”

“Alright, alright, I’ll do it. But if anything goes wrong,” Masterson pointed directly at me with his index finger and put on an angry face, “If anything goes wrong, you will pay the price.” With that line, we styopped talking business and continued to eat our dinner, but when I got back to the hotel, I sent him the e-mail of the card I had put together…

Certainly not the worst set of owner goals to get.

Sin City Heavyweight Title Match – Six-Man Elimination Match

John Pathlow versus American Elemental versus ‘Mighty Fine’ Darryl Devine versus Mainstream Hernandez versus KC Glenn versus Marshall Dillon

Well Devine is due some heat back given his chosen one schtick and billing, debateable whether he gets it here though, especially given the other names involved, but he seems the ideal candidate to hold the belt initially.

Sin City Tag Team Title Tournament – Final

The Ring Generals versus Rock City Stars

Not convinced on this either, but the Rock City Stars seem to have the most apt gimmick for Sin City.

Sin City Tag Team Title Tournament – Semi-Final #1

Too Sweet versus The Ring Generals

Sin City Tag Team Title Tournament – Semi-Final #2

Rich And Famous versus Rock City Stars

Sin City Women’s Title Match – Six-Woman Battle Royal Match

Amber Allen versus ‘Mistress of the Backbreaker’ Talia Quinzel versus Emma Bitch versus Mary Beth Chase versus Golden Delicious versus Roxxy

Just going by her billing, although she's also the ideal challenger to a face champion.

Singles Match

Antix versus Brad Tyson

Coin toss.
