SHaynes23
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/Sting/BladerunnerSting.jpg May 1, 1983 So I just got done wrestling another match in Mid-South Wrestling and Mr. Watts came up to me and said that he really sees something in the Blade Runners, the team I am currently in with Blade Runner Rock. He says the scary face paint and our huge physiques really scare the people out there and we have a good chance of really making an impact as a solid heel tag team. He came up to me and told me that I really have a knack for this business, but to grow as an all-around wrestler I need to start keeping things in this journal so I can see where I came from and where I need to improve. So as stupid as this feels, here I am writing in this journal after my match tonight. I felt like Rock and I put on a great match tonight, but I hear people talking about how we are all power and paint, we don't have the depth to take it to the next level. That's where they are wrong. Both of us have charisma oozing from our veins, we just haven't been given the opportunity to show it yet. Mr. Watts says we need to win more big matches before the fans will not only fear us, but see us as legitimate competitors in this territory. I'm willing to put in however many hours of work that I need to so that I can achieve my dream of being one of the top stars in this great country. Tag team wrestling is fun for now, but it's not something I want to be doing for very long. I am my own man, and I want to be responsible for my own successes or failures. Don't get me wrong, I know that this team is a great vehicle for Rock and I to get our names out there, but there is something about squaring off one-on-one with someone in the middle of the ring and having your name flash across marquees that has an allure about it. I've received permission from Mr. Watts to branch out and find other promotions to work on my skills in, as long as it doesn't interfere with my duties here. So I have a feeling that I am on the brink of something big. I guess that's all the time I have for this thing right now, I've got some phone calls to make. It's time for me to grab the brass ring and chase my dreams. ~This is Sting~ ------------------------------------------------------------------ http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/Sting/MSW2.jpg Mid-South Wrestling Regional Sized Traditional Style Mid-South USA Owned by Bill Watts Booked by Ernie Ladd Blade Runner Sting Heel Opener In the Blade Runners with Blade Runner Rock
SHaynes23
<p><strong>May 2, 1983</strong></p><p> </p><p> I spoke earlier about wanting to expand my horizons a bit and branch out to work in multiple promotions so that I can get my name out there and improve as a singles competitor in the ring. Well that operation can be considered a success. I got the numbers of the bookers at Central States Wrestling and Southwest Championship Wrestling and gave them a call.</p><p> </p><p> Both places had heard of me and were interested in giving me verbal contracts for 8 months each. They hadn't seen much of my work, but they said they were willing to give me a few matches and see if I could capture the fans and put on some decent matches. In both places they would like me to drop the Blade Runner from my name since it's a tag team specific name in Mid-South Wrestling, so I will just be going by Sting. I'll still have my trademark dark face paint of the Blade Runners and work as a menacing heel in both areas.</p><p> </p><p> I'm really excited to keep my work in the Mid South area going with SWCW and to branch out north to the Midwest territory with Central States Wrestling. They have some big names in professional wrestling that could be great mentors to help take my career to the next level. Hopefully both places give me a chance to establish myself as a singles competitor and that will allow me and Rock to do our thing in the tag team division in MSW.</p><p> </p><p> Speaking of MSW, I'm really excited for my first show since starting this journal thing. I thought it would be dumb, but I can see it growing on me. It helps me set out my goals see where I need to go. So my next entry in my journal will be from Wednesday's MSW show, hopefully I get booked.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-family:Garamond;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>~This is Sting~</strong></span></span></p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>----------------------------------------------------------------------------</p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/Sting/CSTATE3.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="font-size:12px;">Central States Wrestling</span></span></strong></p><p> </p><p> Regional Sized</p><p> Traditional Style</p><p> Midwest USA</p><p> Owned by Bob Geigel</p><p> Booked by Harley Race</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Sting</strong></p><p> Heel</p><p> Enhancement Talent</p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/Sting/SWCW.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="font-size:12px;">Southwest Championship Wrestling</span></span></strong></p><p> </p><p> Regional Sized</p><p> Traditional Style</p><p> Mid South USA</p><p> Owned by Joe Blanchard</p><p> Booked by Jonathan Boyd</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Sting</strong></p><p> Heel</p><p> Enhancement Talent</p></div><p></p><p></p>

I knew that I was the better man in last week's match, and I went out there tonight and showed the fans that it was a fluke that I lost to him. I decided to keep with some lower risk moves tonight and then slip on the Sleeper when I had the chance. He had no chance after I locked it on because I wore him out all match long. Another positive is that I took more punishment this week and was able to kick out of his piledriver this time around. Now this will give me the momentum I need heading forward.</div></blockquote>

Tiger Conway is a unorthodox opponent to say the least. They really wanted to see what I was made of with a 2 out of 3 falls match, and they found out as I put him down twice back to back. That match will really help me build credibility as a heel in this company and I look forward to working up their ladder fairly quickly.

SHaynes23
June 21st: Tonight was SWCW big end of month show, and I wasn't booked, nothing new there. I also wasn't booked at Houston Wrestling's TV tapings, but they told me I would be used at the Sam Houston Colosseum next week to make up for not being on this show. I'm really enjoying my short time there so far. June 24th: I wasn't booked at the Mid South Wrestling weekly event, which kind of surprised me since they have used me very regularly in the past two months. I'm not going to complain though because they've treated me very well since I've started there. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/Sting/HCW.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/Sting/BladerunnerSting.jpg vs. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/Sting/ShawnMichaels4.jpg Houston Championship Wrestling: Sam Houston Colosseum Show Friday, June 26, 1983 Mid South (USA) Sting vs. Shawn Michaels $1000 Purse Sting moved and the Jab Punch missed! This match was a few seconds shorter, but it was a lot more fast paced as we knew what to expect from each other. I know he takes huge risks in his matches, and I was able to turn those risks around in my favor. He was done for once I turned him over for the Scorpion Deathlock, nobody ever gets out of that move. Overall I think this month was my best month to date.

It wasn't just a throw away match either, I faced off with one of their bigger stars, Hector Guerrero. I was kind of taken aback at the beginning of the match, this was my first match for a new company, not to mention my first hardcore match ever. It didn't take me long to get used to the hardcore rules though as I threw that chair in the ring and gave him a beating with it. Finishing it off with a DDT onto cold steel was a nice way to finish I thought.

He reversed everything I tried and I couldn't get away from him for anything. Guess I just had an off night, everybody is entitled to one of those I guess. Winners: The Blade Runners Match Time: 10:40 Match Rating: C- It was good to get back in there with Rock and do the tag team thing again. We went against a brother team from Michigan, the Steiner Brothers. Both were amateur wrestlers and it showed in this match because they used that style the whole time. They weren't ready for two guys who will do anything to win like the Blade Runners though. I had Scott beat with the Scorpion Deathlock, but Rick made the save. Right away I knew it was time to finish it and hit the enzuguri to pick up another big win.

I guess the steel cage threw me off my game because I couldn't get anything done once the match started. I loved the fact that there were no rules and I came in with a list of things I wanted to do, but I didn't get any done, and before I knew it Art had planted my head into the mat and climbed out of the cage. Talk about embarrassing.
