Craig Edwards
Anyone have one the many types of these headphones I just got me a pear of the Solo HD ones. It is like having Surround Sound on your ears best sound i've ever gotten out of the headphones worth the 200+ bucks on spent on them
Stennick
I have several pairs of these. I have the buds, I have the solo HD and I have the studio set as well. I absolutely love these headphones. I used to like working out for the music, now I just I like it for how well I can hear the music. I sing the praises of these things as often as I can. What color did you get? And where did you buy yours at?
Unregistered
I've always bought and enjoyed Bose, but I've never had the chance to try out Beats. I'm happy to hear that their not just pricey for Dre's name alone (not that I thought that they were, but it's still a worry)

Remianen
<p>Glad to hear positive feedback on these. Given the fact that I go through a pair of headphones (Sony Studio Monitors) every couple months, I was afraid to drop <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002P8LZ36/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER" rel="external nofollow">$156</a> on a pair and having to replace them repeatedly. I demo'd them in Best Buy but that location (on <a href="http://stores.bestbuy.com/1028/" rel="external nofollow">Fifth Avenue in NYC</a>) is usually so full of clueless tourists, it's too loud to really judge sound quality.</p><p> </p><p> May have to order a pair or three (I like to have emergency backups since my headphones are almost surgically attached <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />).</p>

Remianen
The Beats Pro are the best ones they are the ones you see Lebron James wearing all the time they come with a 6 foot cord and they are just as good as recording studio headphones but they cost 300+ bucks If you are going for the solos get the HD ones they have a better head band the ones you linked are the older version and the guy at best buy said they break a lot easier I'll probably get two of each, to be honest. I don't really listen to what salespeople in stores say. They have a vested interest in getting me to buy bigger ticket items (upselling is taught and highly encouraged). For that reason, I take what they say with a whole lick of salt (nevermind a grain). When I was demoing the headphones last time, the salesguy tried to get me to buy the Bose noise cancelling headphones, even after I told him I'd had a pair and they were crap (sound was good but the first time they fell off my head, they broke). Wow, I suprised that you had issues with the Bose headphones. They are by far the sturdiest pair of headphones I've ever had. I've had to fix them once, and it was a wire problem that was entirely my fault(cord got caught at work, it never had a chance). My question is whats the best pair you ever had then, toughness wise? The longest lasting pair I've ever had we're the Bose ones, no other lasted more then six months. Most lasted me 6 weeks.
James Casey
<p>What on earth do you do to your headphones to trash them that quickly?</p><p> </p><p> (...says the man who uses the earphones that came with the iPod he bought six years ago. Mr Rager
I have real issues with headphones as well. They never last longer than five months; they're fairly cheapish ones though (around £20). When I've got a job I plan on saving up for some Beats Studios.

Remianen
What on earth do you do to your headphones to trash them that quickly? (...says the man who uses the earphones that came with the iPod he bought six years ago. But then, I don't use them often...) When I say mine are practically surgically attached, that's only a slight exaggeration (no surgery was involved). I ALWAYS have my iPod with me. I also live in NYC and ride the subway daily. Sometimes you bump into someone and the 'phones slide forward (off your head) instead of backward (onto your neck). I don't do earbuds (somewhat prone to ear infections so nothing goes IN the ear) because they don't offer a full enough sound. It has to be ON ear or covering the ear (studio/noise canceling style) or else it sucks IMO. Wow, yall are crazy. I don't know how you can justify paying $200+ on headphones when the $10 ones will last just as long (to me at least, I'm a careful guy). Although I've never actually tried them, so I could be way off here, does the increase in quality really justify the price difference? The same thing can be said for EVERYTHING in life. Why buy halibut when whiting serves the same purpose (and is tons cheaper)? Why buy anything but the absolute cheapest vehicle possible? Why buy Nike/Reebok/Adidas when the Skips from Payless do the same thing? "Why, I can get 50 pairs of these for the price of one o' those tennis shoes". Generally speaking, if you're not an audiophile, the sound system in your house or car or the headphones you use don't really matter. "Just as good" is fine for your purposes. Like JC said, he's using the headphones that came with his iPod (and those are just atrocious, sound quality wise. They have NO low end so bass sounds like crap). But they work, which is all he cares about. When we're talking sound quality though, generally speaking, better quality has a higher cost. Whether it's mics or amps or headphones, that's the case. I typically pay $20-50 for my Sony headphones and I go through about 3-6 pair a year. To me, I'd pay $200 for a pair of headphones that will last me a year or more and offer me far superior sound quality. I'm a (newbie) bass player. I MUST have a robust low end in my ears in order to really make out the bass section in many songs. Cheap headphones don't offer that, in my experience. Those $10 Coby headphones cost that for a reason. EDIT: To answer Unregistered's question, Sennheiser HD25 (which I've had for over 5 years but are too unwieldy for portable use) and some Audio-Technica ones (same reason).
