Jaded
(OOC: To be honest, you can probably skip the opening post and just read this as a 'straight' 0/0/0/0 diary if you want. I might even recommend it. For those of you who HAVE met Rebel in the past/future, I've cloned him from the appropriate point in my save game . He still sucks, just not quite as badly as he did at the start (he was a Minor Annoyance clone originally but his skills have improved ever so slightly in 5 years.) January 6th, 1997 I’m Rebel Yell. Six days ago, I ran one of the world’s top 40 wrestling companies. Six days ago, I had a beautiful girlfriend and a great crowd of friends. Now, I’m all alone, I’m broke, and I’m 18 years into the past. What the hell just happened to me?! Okay, here’s what I remember. We’d just had the RY-RAW 5th Anniversary show. I’d been talking to some of the guys at New Zealand’s ZEN over the internet and a few of them are big fans of ours. Since they have money to burn since that Fitzgerald guy gave them a small fortune (by wrestling standards at least), they came out to see our show and were awesome enough to pay for a few of us to go Down Under for a week and check out their Way of the Scholar show. I didn’t want to show any favoritism, so it was the RY-RAW Originals who went – me, Chloe, Amber Allen, Connie Morris, Regular Joe, and the Paratroopers, the 7 of us who’d been there right from the start. The Magnificent Seven, as Paranoia – who was crazily excited, having just won the RY-RAW Trophy in a special match between the five of them who are active wrestlers – called us. So, we had a great few days in New Zealand, and went to see an awesome show. X-Calibre beat HalloWarped in a fun opener, Fuzzy Freeman and Shaolin went over Dastardly and Milton Hittlespitz in a nice little tag match, and then The Enemy retained their Harmony titles against the Sky Kings in a great high flying encounter. And then everything went wrong. I’d had too much Coke to drink, needed a bathroom break, and knew that Lone Shark’s entrance was so long I’d have time to get there and back before his match with Blake Belushi. At least, I thought I would. I asked Molly Cuddle for directions and must have misheard. I thought she said fourth door on the left down the hall but maybe it was fourth on the right. As I opened the door, I heard a voice screaming at me. I think he was saying “NO! That’s Guru Vishni’s portal through space and time!” but I’d already started to step through, and some weird force drew me in. I know weird forces sounds bizarre, but let’s face in, given I appear to be stuck in 1997, weird forces are the believable bit. I must’ve passed out when I went through that portal. I woke up and looked around me, and I was in Times Square, being shaken awake by someone who thought I’d overdone it celebrating. I found my way to a homeless shelter – where else was I going to go? I had no idea what had happened then, you see. Part of me thought that I’d got so drunk I’d missed the last few days of the trip. And then SHE came to me in a dream. My beautiful girlfriend, Chloe. She told me I was no longer in the right timeline. I remember her words so clearly. “18 years ago, a parallel universe was created. You have found yourself in that universe at its birth, Rebel. I’m not sure why you’re there. I’m not sure how long you’re going to be there for. But I know that you will return to me once you’ve done what you need to do.” “What I need to do? What the heck DO I need to do, Chloe?” “Do what you do best, Rebel. Go out there and book some wrestling.” So that’s how we got to where we are today. Either that, or I’m some crazy fool thinking I’m from the future. Edit: What a start... typo in the title! Oops.
Jaded
<div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>March 13th 1997</strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p> Well, it’s taken me two months to put together a roster. I know from previous experience that when you’re getting started, it’s not wrestling skill you need – it’s being a nice guy. I applied my patented ‘No Poopyheads Rule’ and, after carefully checking out the people who wanted to work for me, signed nearly all of the ones who wanted $250 a show or less. There’s just a lot of cool guys out there, I guess.</p><p> </p><p> On a side note, this is REALLY difficult. I keep wanting to scout people on Youtube and advertise on Facebook and have to stop myself because, you know, they haven’t been invented yet.</p><p> </p><p> So, this is my happy crew.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>The top guys</strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Black Eagle</strong> – Oh, wow. The man who would, in my timeline, go on to become American Optimus in BHOTWG was at the start of his career here and I managed to snap him up. So thrilled to sign a great cruiserweight! I wanted to keep people to $200 or less an appearance, really, but was so pleased I got the Eagle that I happily agreed to $250 for him. </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Chris Perkins </strong>– Speaking of great cruiserweights, Chris would become Insane Machine in my timeline. This is my chance to work with him before the mask, when he was jobbing in CZCW under his own name.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Dario Shelton </strong>– I’d never heard of this guy, but can’t work out why. He’s in his mid 20’s and is a great brawler for his age, who knows more about wrestling that I’d ever have expected. He’s agreed to road agent for us as well, I just need to find someone who can do that for his matches.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Edwin D Bashford </strong>- Another who never amounted to anything in my timeline, Edwin has a great rich snob gimmick and is a decent all round worker. He’s also only 19 and has a lot of time to improve.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Jake Harvey</strong> – And one more who faded away by the time I got into wrestling. PPPW undercard worker Jake specializes in brawling but is decent at all styles of match. </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Snap Dragon</strong> – This may be my chance to right a huge wrong! In my time, CZCW’s star attraction Snap Dragon faded away and spent 4 years working the indies, never becoming the big star he seemed destined to be. I’m sure that with some guidance from me, and strong booking, this 20 year old can make it to the top.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>The middle guys</strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Benjamin Moore</strong> – Again, who? I’m not discriminating as to how they did in my universe – that would just be weird and unfair! Moore is a crazy fool who dives through tables. It’s not what I want in my fed, but I have total respect for this 20 year old’s dedication, and hopefully his actual wrestling skills will improve. Not that I’m really one to criticise.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Roy Stephens</strong> – Roy is a really entertaining guy who cuts great promos. We’re not actually planning on HAVING any promos, but it’s a nice thing to know about someone. He’s only 19 and I know Phil Vibert is meant to be a fan, which again makes me wonder where he got to.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Dan Billiot </strong>– Another 18 year old who in my universe vanished completely, Billiot’s a decent enough brawler who has even less idea than I did when I started about how to work a match. If we keep him in there with some skilled guys, though, he should be okay.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Helen Earth </strong>– In my universe, I remember reading in passing in around 2003 that Earth had retired after working the indies for a few years – a far cry from her glory days as AAA tag champion with Cherry Bomb. She’s an absolutely wonderful person who deserves to have more success – and maybe this time around, she will.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Mad Dog Mortimer </strong>– How weird is this? Clearly I can’t tell MDM that he’s already wrestled for RY-RAW, or he’ll probably think I’m insane. He was in three matches in our very first year – losing to Connie Morris, Paranoia, and Ant Man – and came out of retirement to take part in our Welcome Back battle royal at the Fifth Anniversary Show. Now, though, he’s at the very start of his career and again I’m really hoping he’ll have a better one in this universe. Not that I’m planning on being around for long enough to see it!</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>The rest</strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Ashley Murphy </strong>– A trained nurse and a great girl! She can’t really wrestle, but that’s never been a major problem for me.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Smokey Joe </strong>– Joe has this awesome gimmick where he pretends he’s a drunk guy fighting. At least, I hope he’s pretending</p><p> .</p><p> <strong>Tate Lyall</strong> – Ultra mellow. Lyall is a really laid back cruiser who pulls off some great moves. </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Andy Otto</strong> – Otto is a guy after my own heart; a photographer who was asked to take a bump in an angle and lived it so much he’s trained to be a proper wrestler. He’s a bit older than most of our roster at 24, but I’m hoping he can do really well.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Shawn Chase</strong> – A good all rounder, Shawn is a great prospect for the future. Like most of my roster, he never amounted to anything in my universe, but this is the chance to change that!</p><p> </p><p> Oh, I guess I should tell you about RY-RAW itself! </p><p> </p><p> It’s a heavily traditional based fed with room for all styles. I’d say we’re more for high flyers than anyone else really, but everyone can feel welcome here – at least unless they curse or do inappropriate stuff. We’re family friendly! </p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><em>(OOC: Traditional Key, Modern Heavy, Realism/Lucha/Pure/Comedy Medium</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> Any comments - particularly on whether the references to "Rebel's timeline" are worth doing or just annoying - would be very welcome, as would predictions. BHK1978
<p>Oddly enough I was also going to do a time traveling diary as well. I have a render of John Simm of Life on Mars fame. Jaded
RY-RAW 1 Thursday, Week 3, March 1997 Snap Dragon vs Tate Lyall I should've known something was up when I asked Tate if he was excited about opening our first ever show. The response I got "Yeah, brah... it's smoking!" and a fit of the giggles seemed uncomfortably close to what I used to deal with back when Nomad was in the original RY-RAW. Thankfully, Snap Dragon even at this point in his career is rather awesome and carries him to a decent enough squash match. Snap Dragon defeated Tate Lyall in 6:01 by pinfall with a Dragon's Breath. (29) Dario Shelton vs William Fletcher Okay, Fletcher is impressively out of shape. Even I can go seven and a half minutes without looking blown up. Shelton looks faintly disgusted by the trouble his opponent's having breathing and puts him down quickly with a powerslam. Dario Shelton defeated William Fletcher in 7:26 by pinfall. (22) Chris Perkins vs Tate Lyall This pair kick things up a notch, and Lyall appears slightly less under the influence than he did earlier on. Snap Dragon is out at ringside scouting the guy he's teaming up with later on and Perkins signals to him before unleashing an insanely hard enziguri which I almost think has legitimately knocked out Lyall. Chris Perkins defeated Tate Lyall in 7:41 by pinfall with a Termination Kick. (33) Smokey Joe vs Rebel Yell Is there a time travel equivalent of jetlag? I'm worse than ever here, freezing in front of the crowd of 9 people. Joe walks me through but there's an impressively loud "You Suck Rebel" coming from a dozen or so mouths. (I think a couple of our guys may have joined in, and I don't really blame them.) Smokey Joe defeated Rebel Yell in 6:07 by pinfall. (16) Bashford/Eagle vs Dragon/Perkins Decent enough match as we tell these guys to go out there and have fun. The overall story sees Bashford and Eagle struggle to work as a team, while the two high-flyers are able to pair together far more smoothly. The finish sees the pair hit consecutive moonsaults on Eagle to get the win - awesome stuff by 1997's standards. Snap Dragon and Chris Perkins defeated Edwin D. Bashford and Black Eagle in 11:04 when Snap Dragon defeated Black Eagle by pinfall. (40) Black Eagle vs Edwin D Bashford The previous match was a main event we could have been proud of - so it's a shame it wasn't our main event. Note to self - next time out, don't put two guys in two matches in a row. We also seem to ask them to do a bit longer than they're comfortable with and a hot opening building on the communication problems in their tag match loses its way a bit. Eagle eventually hits the New Jersey Turnpike for the victory. Black Eagle defeated Edwin D. Bashford in 14:35 by pinfall with a New Jersey Turnpike. (25) Show rating 28 9 people Well, all in all, can't argue with that as a first time out. Lessons to be learnt - can we pay someone to take care of Lyall prior to the next show? Should we cut down on main event length? What the hell am I thinking of putting myself in the ring? After some discussions with Dario, I put together a card for the following month which sees the debuts of a couple of guys, Dario himself wrestle twice, and another tag match for Black Eagle and Edwin. RY-RAW 2 Thursday, Week 3, April 1997 Chris Perkins vs Dario Shelton Jake Harvey vs Tate Lyall Eagle and Bashford vs Dan Billiott and Shawn Chase. Chris Perkins vs William Fletcher Dario Shelton vs Smokey Joe Black Eagle vs Rebel Yell Prediction contest results from 1st time around. Boltinho 6/6 Codey 4/6 BHK 4/6 Congratulations to Boltinho, who wins the opportunity to ask a RY-RAW superstar any question he wants to! PM me or post it here if you'd like to take up this wonderful chance, Boltinho. Next show in 48 hours or so hopefully - I'm going away for a few days but the hotel SUPPOSEDLY has wi-fi. I'm aiming to keep a steady schedule going here. Feedback would be awesome!
Boltinho
W00T! Question for Chris Perkins: Some people say you've got the talent to succeed but you'll need to come up with a decent gimmick. Jaded
We here at RY-RAW pride ourselves on making our superstars available to answer questions from the public - especially those who've shown their love for the fed by winning predictions competitions! Boltinho had a question for Chris Perkins: Some people say you've got the talent to succeed but you'll need to come up with a decent gimmick. Do you think RY-RAW is the place to create a persona to reach the top with? Over to you, Chris! Eh... I have to be honest, that gimmicky kinda stuff doesn't really do anything for me. I've always felt a real wrestler should want to reach the top by talent alone. My new boss Rebel Yell keeps suggesting I put a mask on and trying to give me a weird name, but plain ol' Chris Perkins will do just fine for now. (OOC: 24 hours or so left for predictions, wi-fi SEEMS to be working okay - if this gets through it is! - so hopefully no delay.

Jaded
RY-RAW 2 Thursday, Week 3, April 1997 Black Eagle vs Rebel Yell Well, compared to my match last time around, this was an absolute masterclass. Compared to any other match people have ever paid money to watch, this was still fairly awful. I bump a bit for Eagle to show off his high flying skills. Black Eagle defeated Rebel Yell in 6:58 by pinfall with a New Jersey Turnpike. (25) Dario Shelton vs Smokey Joe Shelton gets a more competitive match this time, as he and Joe go at it for 10 minutes before he sneaks a win with a roll-up. This is better than our match but not much, partly because Joe's looking far too interested in getting his 'wrestling drunk' gimmick over than actually putting on a decent bout. Dario Shelton defeated Smokey Joe in 10:30 by pinfall with a roll up. 26 Chris Perkins vs William Fletcher I guess Will hit the gym over the past four weeks, because he doesn't look quite as out of shape as he did last time around. Either that, or Perkins is better at squashing people. High-flying showcase for Perkins ends with that devastating enziguri for another victory. Chris Perkins defeated William Fletcher in 8:06 by pinfall with a Termination Kick. 35 Black Eagle and Edwin D Bashford vs Dan Billiot and Shawn Chase Okay, this was meant to be a match which told the story of the continuing struggle by Edwin and Eagle to work as a team. Unfortunately, their opponents were legitimately having so many problems as a duo that the angle was kind of overshadowed. Chase and Billiot's timing together stunk and it left Eagle and Bashford scratching their heads as there wasn't much they could do to stand out as looking like they were miscommunicating. Eagle gets the win in a match which is at least blessedly short. Black Eagle and Edwin D. Bashford defeated Dan Billiot and Shawn Chase in 6:55 when Black Eagle defeated Shawn Chase by pinfall with a New Jersey Turnpike. (27) Jake Harvey vs Tate Lyall It's a debut for Harvey, who looks fairly poor. Although to give him his due, against Lyall, he's probably just relieved to get out of there unharmed. Lyall is in a worse state than last time around and could be going for shortest ever RY-RAW career - we're desperate, but are we THIS desperate? Jake Harvey defeated Tate Lyall in 7:18 by pinfall. (22) Chris Perkins vs Dario Shelton We tell this pairing to go out there and give it everything they've got, and they don't disappoint. Wrestling for nearly quarter of an hour, there's a host of near falls but the ending comes when Perkins wipes Shelton out with a somersault plancha, only to be unable to get up himself. The fans - all 8 of them, 3 from last time around aren't feeling too well so we did manage to pick up two new people - lap it up, chanting "ONE MORE MATCH!" along with most of our roster. And no, I didn't ask any of the guys to do that, honestly! Chris Perkins drew with Dario Shelton in 14:34 after a double count out. (40) Show rating 35. 8 people. Things seem to have changed already from 'my' timeline so I've already decided there's no point just scouting out the guys I've expecting to be stars. That said, it makes little sense completely avoiding them, so there's two people who recently debuted that I'm really happy to bring in. The first, Matt Sparrow, would go on in my time to achieve cult success as a wrestler in FCW and more famously the Coastal Zone, teaming with Masked Cougar to win the tag belts. As for the second? I have to keep asking myself, if your girlfriend isn't in the same parallel universe or whatever it is, does it still count as cheating? It's an academic question, I guess, because there's no way this girl would ever look twice at me - but she's smoking hot and ultra-talented, and I remember her 10 title reigns. Yup, we got The Angel of the Dark, Raven Nightfall! Next time around, we'll see Raven team up with Dario Shelton to go against Helen Earth and Chris Perkins in our first ever mixed tag match, prior to Shelton vs Perkins in a singles rematch of today's main event, plus Matt Sparrow's debut against Ben Moore! Predictions from RY-RAW 2: Boltinho 6/6 Casey 6/6 Congrats guys! You get a question EACH to ask if you want it - PM me or post here. BTW, I don't use heels or faces so I just post in alphabetical order when listing matches - the all on the left thing was a coincidence! Guest codey
My question's for William Fletcher: Willie, what's your workout secret? Jaded
Again, RY-RAW are proud to bring you answers to the questions you're asking our biggest stars! Codey had one for William Fletcher. Willie, what's your workout secret? I've been hitting the gym nonstop, and I'm just not seeing the results that I want. Willie? No secret, buddy. Just gotta keep putting in the time and you'll get there. My main man Rebel says that where he comes from, there's a guy whose so small he's named after an insect and he lifts men nearly twice his size - don't suppose he got that power without some serious exercisin'. I'm just stumped as to why Rebel never mentions where he DOES come from. And then there's this, from Boltinho to our esteemed owner, Rebel Yell. If you could only ever eat one fruit ever again which one would you choose and why? Rebel? Ummm, gosh, that's a hard one. I think I'd go for lemons, because they're yellow. Like Chloe's hair. I miss Chloe... no, I CAN'T go back and visit her. It's complicated. (OOC: Big thanks to you both for the questions, comments and predictions. Any more predictions from anyone? This is a 24 hour or so warning.)
Jaded
RY-RAW 3 Thursday, Week 3, Apr 1997 Yeah, you gotta love our roster, haven't you? The good news is our entire roster turned up for this show, including people who weren't booked. This was especially lucky as there's a bad case of flu going around New York at the moment which wiped out a lot of our regulars - can you be regulars after two shows? And should we have sent them get well soon cards? - so even with guys like Tate Lyall in the crowd we only got up to 9 fans. Not great. The even worse news was, I bumped into Tate a few hours prior to the show and he offered me something to smoke. Stupidly, I took it - I was nervous, what can I say? I've never done anything like that before and good grief, there's no way on earth I'd ever do it again. As a result, I don't actually recall that much of the show and what I do recall I'm trying to forget. <b>Benjamin Moore vs Matt Sparrow</b> Okay, this is a bit I'm DEFINITELY trying to forget. I'm sure I was originally planning for Sparrow to win a brief match, but apparently after spending a bit of time with Tate I changed my mind. I'm informed I asked them to go out there for 10 minutes and to have Ben roll up Matt for the win. The roll-up was about the only bit that worked, as they were legitimately so exhausted that they made it look realistic. <i>Benjamin Moore defeated Matt Sparrow in 10:37 by pinfall. 21</i> <b>MDM and Rebel Yell vs Smokey Joe and Jake Harvey</b> Ummm... yeah, this is pretty much my least finest hour in a five-year plus career. Morty took one look at me and decided to wrestle the whole match by himself, refusing to even come close to me after I nearly blind tagged myself in early on, only for Stones to claim he hadn't seen it in a joint effort to stop me even trying to do anything. I wake up in a cold sweat thinking about the likely event if I'd actually tried to pull off a move on anyone given my state. Harvey gets the quick pinfall victory with a body slam and everyone breathes a sigh of relief. <i>Smokey Joe and Jake Harvey defeated Mad Dog Mortimer and Pepper Vain in 6:55 when Jake Harvey defeated Mad Dog Mortimer by pinfall. 21</i> <b>Chris Perkins and Helen Earth vs Dario Shelton and Raven Nightfall</b> By this point, people had given up talking to me so apparently they had to work out the finish by themselves. Dario is a selfless guy who said he didn't feel right putting himself over, so hot new signing Raven Nightfall does the job to Helen Earth in her debut. Again, not what I'd have booked, but I can hardly criticise them given why they ended up making the decision. <i>Chris Perkins and Helen Earth defeated Dario Shelton and Raven Nightfall in 9:43 when Helen Earth defeated Raven Nightfall by pinfall. 37</i> <b>Jake Harvey vs Roy Stephens</b> No one has mentioned this match to me at all. When I asked someone about it they said it was better I didn't know. Given that people have been happy to talk to me about the tag match, which most promotions would consider the worst in their history, this is quite worrying. I read some graffiti in the toilet afterwards which called Roy a loser so I'm guessing Jake won. <i>Jake Harvey defeated Roy Stephens in 12:12 by pinfall. 20</i> <b>Chris Perkins vs Dario Shelton </b> Thankfully, the main event went just as planned because we'd laid it out a month in advance after the last show. A great battle saw the pair take each other to the limit - and beyond, with Stones calling for the bell for a time-limit draw after a quarter of an hour. <i>In a bout that had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action, Chris Perkins drew with Dario Shelton in 15:00 when the time limit expired. 41</i> <b>Show rating 36. 9 people.</b> Next time around, Raven Nightfall's singles debut as she goes up against Ashley Murphy! Our first ever three-way match, featuring me vs Edwin D Bashford vs Black Eagle! And a massive main event as Dario Shelton and Chris Perkins collide one more time in a no time-limit Last Man Standing bout! Jaded
Boltinho, who's one of our biggest fans, is back again with a question for Snap Dragon! "You're pretty unique in american wrestling. Who and where did you get your inspiration from?" Snappy? There are a bunch of guys I've been inspired by, although hopefully I've put my own mark on everything I do, so it's great that you think I'm unique! I've been to Mexico a couple of times and seen some of the awesome lucha workers there - in the future I'd really like to make it to OLLIE - but the one American guy who I learn new things from every time I watch is Silver Shark. Man, that guy can fly, and it's been an honour to wrestle him in CZCW and RPW. A Tale of Two Timelines (Rebel will be scouting out a few workers from 'his' timeline to compare the difference in their careers. Feedback on this would be particularly welcome, and while I've got the next few workers written up, if anyone wants to put in a request I'll do them in the future.) Original timeline (Feb 2015): Twice an International champion in TCW, it was in the SWF that Jack Bruce would make himself perhaps the best known wrestler in the country at the turn of the last decade. The ultra-charismatic babyface's feud with Eric Eisen made him, and the federation, serious money, and then led into a three year long feud with Brandon James as Jack's smooth talking and guitar playing won the heart of Brandon's manager Emma Chase, who pulled off an absolutely massive face turn by throwing herself on Bruce to stop her charge brutalising him with a steel chair. Prior to that Jack had retired Brandon's bodyguard Vengeance from the federation by beating him in a brutal career vs career match, and Emma's defection made it look like he had the better of James. The course of true love never does run smooth, however, and 18 months later at Under Control 2014 it would be Brandon who had the last laugh, winning a title vs career encounter when Emma finally turned on Jack, low-blowing him to allow James to hit his devastating swinging DDT for the victory. Recently reappeared in TCW where he has reformed Painful Procedure with a new membership consisting of him, Sam Keith - the oldest rocker in town - Sam's son Matthew and Danny Fonzarelli. New timeline (May 1997): Still a charismatic rookie at this stage in his career, Bruce has just left NYCW in order to join AMW. Joining the small fed seems a surprising move for someone who's started to establish himself in both CGC and HGC already, but given that he's just been beaten quite easily by Dallas McWade and Charlie Thatcher in each company's last big event it's perhaps understandable. What's less obvious is the reason for leaving NYCW, where he was getting a big push which included a clean victory over The Stomper, at all. Hopefully, all will be revealed soon. Jaded
RY-RAW 4 Thursday, Week 3, June 1997 Black Eagle vs Mad Dog Mortimer This is as bad as you'd expect with Mad Dog in the ring, even just to bump for Eagle a lot. Black Eagle takes the victory fairly easily. Black Eagle defeated Mad Dog Mortimer in 7:45 by pinfall with a New Jersey Turnpike. 29 Ashley Murphy vs Raven Nightfall In another fairly poor match, these two go at it for 7 minutes or so before Ashley surprises Raven with a roll-up. Yep, I booked her to lose AGAIN. I know what I'm doing, honestly. Ashley Murphy defeated Raven Nightfall in 6:43 by pinfall. 29 Chris Perkins and Tate Lyall vs Dario Shelton and Shawn Chase A preview of tonight's main event sees Perkins and Dario charge into each other and spend much of the match duking it out, with Chris getting the advantage. Dario eventually makes the tag but Chase isn't in long before falling victim to that devastating enziguri. By far the match of the night so far, which bodes well for the main event. Chris Perkins and Tate Lyall defeated Dario Shelton and Shawn Chase in 7:58 when Chris Perkins defeated Shawn Chase by pinfall with a Termination Kick. 40 Black Eagle vs Edwin D Bashford vs Rebel Yell Ugh... if anything, I may personally have been better last month when they didn't allow me in the ring. I choked big time here and the other two couldn't carry me through to something watchable. I at least managed to take the New Jersey Turnpike without hurting myself as Eagle pinned me. Black Eagle defeated Edwin D. Bashford and Rebel Yell in 5:46 when Black Eagle defeated Rebel Yell by pinfall with a New Jersey Turnpike. 27 Snap Dragon and Helen Earth vs Ashley Murphy and Roy Stephens Nothing seems to click here, and Snap Dragon is having a rare off-night while asking Ashley to work twice doesn't seem to have been particularly clever. Helen and Roy just about stop it falling apart too terribly but there's a sigh of relief when Helen shows impressive strength to plant Stephens with a Dust to Dust for the win. Snap Dragon and Helen Earth defeated Ashley Murphy and Roy Stephens in 7:03 when Helen Earth defeated Roy Stephens by pinfall with a Dust To Dust. 28 Last Man Standing: Chris Perkins vs Dario Shelton And just like that, the pair save the show. We probably need to stop just reusing this main event before people get TOO bored of it, but this is their best match yet, featuring 16 minutes of action which end when Shelton unleashes a vicious piledriver, only for Perkins to somehow stagger to his feet on 8. Shelton moves in and hits that same piledriver twice more to be on the safe side, and there's no getting up from that. Dario Shelton defeated Chris Perkins in 16:29 when Chris Perkins could not beat a ten count. 42 Show rating 38 8 people Lesson I'm quickly remembering - if you put on a really good main event, people will forgive a lot of rubbish in the undercard. This is useful, because we sure do have a lot of rubbish in the undercard! Predictions from RY-RAW 4 Codey 4/6 20LEgend 4/6 Boltinho 3/6 Codey, 20 LEgend, questions would be very welcome if there's anything you'd like to ask a RY-RAW star. Next time around, Dario Shelton will try and cement his place at the top of the card as he takes on a man who's unbeaten in RY-RAW so far, Snap Dragon, after a warm-up match against Jake Harvey! Two of our hottest high-flyers team up as Black Eagle and Matt Sparrow go against Mad Dog Mortimer and yours truly! And our first ever three-way elimination tag match! Jaded
20LEgend to Black Eagle: Who would you say is your biggest influence and why? Black Eagle My biggest influences are the birds that share my name. Like me, they are wonderful and exciting to look at, but also deadly. A Tale of Two Universes Rolling Johnny Stones Original Timeline (Feb 2015) - While I'm sure he wouldn't have wanted it to happen in the way it did, Rolling Johnny Stones benefitted substantially from 21CW's sudden collapse as Jeff Nova ran out of money. Their inability to afford the terms they'd previously been offering meant they could no longer give out exclusive PPA contract, allowing talents such as RJS to work elsewhere as well, and he was quickly picked up by ROF where his in-ring ability improved. He was loyal to 21CW, though, staying until the bitter end in 2012, and The Patriots tag team of he and Philip Cooper were given enough airtime to make them two of the top stars. While Cooper would languish in the indies for a year before being picked up by Nova's new NWF, which features more wrestling and less sports entertainment than his previous fed did, Stones had risen to the top in ROF as the ROF Champion - a position he holds to this day - and is also now working as a midcard face in the cult phenomenon VWA, surely the fastest rising fed around. While he's shown no signs of challenging the very top heels such as champion Louis Figo Manico and the hated cult leader Jonathan Faust's 'Faustian Flock', he is a solid hand in the ring who seems well established there. Current Timeline (July 1997) - RJS hasn't really done anything of note here recently - he's currently unemployed and hasn't even been able to find work on an indy show.
