thunderwill
Pacific Northwest Wrestling by one of the founding members of the NWA, Don Owen and for 60 years he ran PNW. Don Owen was regarded as one of the most honest and beloved wrestling promoters during the last 60 years. The Pacific Northwest Wrestling is often the most overlooked wrestling promotion by during the heyday of the NWA. The alumni reads as a who's who in the wrestling business during the 70's and 80's. "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, Curt Hennig, Rick Martel, Chris Adams, the Sheepherders, "Playboy" Buddy Rose, Jesse Ventura, Stan "the Man" Stasiak, Tommy Rogers, Billy Jack Haynes, Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, Raven, Scott Norton, Brian Adams, were just a few of the great wrestlers of the past that once called Pacific Northwest there home. Pacific Northwest Wrestling was one of the few wrestling promotions that survived the WWF take over of the wrestling industry during the late 80's. Forces outside of the wrestling industry was the main reason for this once great wrestling promotion to die. The overzealous Oregon State Athletic Commission breathing down the neck of the PNW, making almost impossible for them to stay in business. Then the the main television sponsor declared bankruptcy causing one of the longest running TV programs during the time to be canceled. Final in 1992 the PNW was gone forever from this world. This Dynasty will try to keep this once great promotion alive and thriving for years to come. This is my first try at doing a dynasty, so hang with during the early parts, as I try to get the hang of this. I hope everyone will enjoy it. Thank you. thunderwill
Pacific Northwest Wrestling presents Big Time Wrestling Dark Match #1 http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5epsVdNFfBc/TefcCmJ4YZI/AAAAAAAABxI/ES78JYvw618/s1600/Ed%2BWiskowski.jpgEd Wiskowski defeated http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zROjbeSnvjE/TefePpEMP8I/AAAAAAAAByA/mhsGSMIC1r8/s1600/Brian%2BAdams%2B2.jpgThe American Ninja at the 4:22 mark after Wiskowski hit the Pancake Piledriver and got the pin (49) Booker Notes: The American Ninja is a young, green wrestler who could become a big star in the future and was basically used here to help develop his skills. Ed Wiskowski is a veteran wrestler and one of the most hated heels in the promotion. Can help the younger wrestlers develop there skills or be pushed into a feud. Dark Match #2 http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-O4rm2JcXZHc/TefegnbVCsI/AAAAAAAAByI/qnjI9LPSWl8/s1600/Chris%2BColt.jpgChris Colt defeated http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6c-7gu1neIQ/TefetrfJ8RI/AAAAAAAAByY/VfYiWuyJLu8/s1600/Rex%2BKing%2B%25282%2529.jpgRex King at the 4:26 by pinfall after Colt hit King a Knee to the Back. (31) Booker Notes: Chris Colt is a veteran heel with skills that are useful in helping the younger talent. Rex King is a young, green wrestler who I do not really know what I have with him yet. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Q9u4XtLwxU4/Tefe8YJehhI/AAAAAAAAByg/ryRUzQQwrEw/s1600/Don%2BOwen.jpgDon Owen Announcement Don Owen announces the main event for tonight will between Jimmy Snuka vs Rip Oliver for the NWA Pacific Northwest Heavyweight Championship and also inform the crowd that next week will be free kids night. (52) Booker Notes: Don Owen in the Owner of the PNW and loves having kids come to a great wrestler show for free. Super Ninja covers Peterson for the three count. (36) Booker Notes: The match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action as well. Burning Fury is a new tag team of Brady Boone and Super Ninja, they have great chemistry together and could be tag championship in the future. The Southern Rockers are a good young team of Steve Doll and Scott Peterson. They are both a little green but could to become future tag team champions. (43) Booker Notes: Al Madril dominated the rookie, toying with him for most of the match but then Madril started arguing with the fans allowing Archangel to get a surprise roll up. Madril is furious, grabbing the ref by his shirt and yelling at him. Archangel is a mystery wrestling under a mask that has some good potential. Al Madril is a nice veteran wrestler and can still put on some good matches. Backstage Camera http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fU8TJgAfpnA/Tefg_qerJ7I/AAAAAAAABzg/QJ62o6L5rR0/s1600/Al%2BMadril.jpgAl Madril is followed to the back where he processed to demolish a table into splinters and throws chairs every which direction as he heads to the locker rooms. (38) Booker Notes: A veteran wrestlers losing to a rookie wrestler will make anyone mad. (42) Booker Notes: The team of Abbuda Dein and Mike Miller are two veteran wrestlers that have team together for some time and have good chemistry together. Indian War Party are another veteran team of Billy Two Eagles and Don Running Bear and are basically jobbers at this point of there career. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Q9u4XtLwxU4/Tefe8YJehhI/AAAAAAAAByg/ryRUzQQwrEw/s1600/Don%2BOwen.jpgDon Owen Announcement Don Owen announces that a tournament will be held to crown a new television champion and the first match-up will be next between Timothy Flowers and Carl Styles. (41) Booker Notes: Everyone in Portland loves Don Owen and he is great in this kind of role. Television tournament will be Timothy Flowers v. Carl Styles/ Earthquake Ferris v. Avalanche/ Al Madril v. Curtis Thompson/ Jesse Barr v. Steve Doll/ Cocoa Samoa v. The American Ninja/ Ed Wiskowski v. Rex King/ Brady Boone v. Art Barr/ Super Ninja v. Sheik Abdullah Ali Hassan. Flowers move onto the next round of the Television Tournament. (41) Book Notes: The match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action as well. The Television title is vacate, so a 16 man tournament was announced by Don Owen and this was the first matchup. Timothy Flowers is a decent wrestler and a decent look as well. Will face the winner of the Brady Boone v. Art Barr match. Carl Styles is a decent wrestler but has never really moved beyond the midcard. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mg5085G5LM8/TefjXg8wo7I/AAAAAAAAB04/CidXshmJq9g/s1600/Jimmy%2BSnuka%2B2.jpgJimmy Snuka Interview Jimmy tells the crowd that he is happy to be back in the PNW and will take the championship away from Rip Oliver. (57) Booker Notes: Snuka has a long history with the PNW and having be my top babyface will hopefully get some good main events. Match #4 NWA Pacific Northwest Tag Team Bout http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-u7qDYya2oN4/TefjnT4sSxI/AAAAAAAAB1A/bqZdTg555DM/s1600/Cocoa%2BSamoa.jpghttp://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6-gcRQYc6gQ/Tefj2rBNnBI/AAAAAAAAB1Q/oWitdpu2q_M/s1600/Ricky%2BSantana%2B%25282%2529.jpgCocoa Samoa and Ricky Santana defeated http://http//4.bp.blogspot.com/-H0YWkyMV8Dc/Tefj8pUU71I/AAAAAAAAB1Y/6XmTLwyXyG0/s1600/Earthquake%2BFerris.jpghttp://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_mi_ifkra3s/TefkG7gvolI/AAAAAAAAB1g/-33KMSHz6r8/s1600/Curtis%2BThompson.jpgEarthquake Ferris and Curtis Thompson at the 7:52 mark, when Cocoa Samoa hit a piledriver on Curtis Thompson and got the pin and remain the NWA Pacific Northwest Tag Team champions. (35) Booker Notes: The match had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action as well. Match was used mostly to showcase the tag champions and start a feud between Earthquake Farris and Ricky Santana. Cocoa Samoa and Ricky Santana is a good team with Samoa being the veteran leader and Santana is the young hotshot. Earthquake Ferris is one of the top faces in the promotion and a decent wrestler. Curtis Thompson is a young, green wrestler that does have some upside. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VpLsjTDvsV8/TefkfBK1w4I/AAAAAAAAB1o/AyZLGBsXnW0/s1600/Rip%2BOliver.jpgRip Oliver Interview Rip Oliver tells the crowd that he is not going to be losing his title anytime soon and he has a surprise for Snuka later tonight. (52) Booker Notes: Rip Oliver is a good on the mic and can really get the crowd going. Match #5 NWA Pacific Northwest Heavyweight bout http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mg5085G5LM8/TefjXg8wo7I/AAAAAAAAB04/CidXshmJq9g/s1600/Jimmy%2BSnuka%2B2.jpgJimmy Snuka defeated http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VpLsjTDvsV8/TefkfBK1w4I/AAAAAAAAB1o/AyZLGBsXnW0/s1600/Rip%2BOliver.jpgRip Oliver at the 16:32 mark, when The Assassin ran into the ring attacking Jimmy Snuka after Snuka hit the Superfly Splash. (59) Booker Notes: The match had great heat and good action as well. The Assassin accompanied Rip Oliver to the ring. Rip Oliver is the top heel in the promotion, with good mic skills and good wrestling skills. Jimmy Snuka is a good high flyer but does have some good wrestling skills to go with it. The DQ finish was the only way to end this match, as a feud between Snuka and Oliver has been started. Rip Oliver and The Assassin exit the ring as Rose looks on. Rose helps Snuka to his feet and then smashes him over the head with the chair. Rose get a couple stumps on the life-less body of Snuka before raising his hand with Oliver and The Assassin in the middle of the ring to a chorus of boos from the crowd. (52) Booker Notes: Buddy Rose was once one the most hated men in PNW but a couple years ago turned into the darling of the promotion. The Trio of Buddy Rose, Rip Oliver and The Assassin will be a force in the PNW for some time. Overall (45) Booker Notes: Decent show. Moved some storylines along and try to get some new wrestlers involved. Snuka/ Oliver feud should be good. Have not thought of the name of the stable of Oliver/Rose/The Assassin has one more wrestler will join the group but should be a nice strong stable to have the faces battle against. Please let me know what you think or ways to improve it. Next Show Predictions Big Time Wrestling Main Event Buddy Rose v. ???? Match #1 Al Madril v. Burning Fury showed there improving tag skills, as they used quick tags through out most of the match. Brady Boone did get caught with a cheap shot from Sheik Abdullah Ali Hassan but was able to make a hot tag after a couple minutes trapped on the other side of the ring. He attacked Curtis Thompson as he was getting into the ring. For the next couple minutes Thompson could barely breathe as Madril was all over him. Thompson almost pulled another shocking loss for Madril as he got a quick roll-up after Madril try to send him to the corner. It was only a two count. Thompson on the offense but Madril quickly got back control. The ending came when Madril was able to lock in the Indian Deathlock, causing Thompson to quit. Don Owen: Well Sawyer how do you feel about being back in the PNW and wrestling Buddy Rose tonight? Buzz Sawyer: Well Mr. Owen it feels great to be back. The fans here in Portland are the best fans I have ever seen through out my travels across the country. As for Buddy Rose. I saw what Buddy Rose and his goons did to Snuka last week and I have someone watching my back tonight. So do not think the same thing will happen to me tonight. Even though The Grapplers skills are not what they once were, he is still a very good wrestler and showed case that in this match. Billy Two Eagles got the early advantage but got reversed into the corner where The Grappler took control over the match. Billy Two Eagles tried to make a comeback to the fans delight but got hit with the Loaded Boot, knocking him out. The Grappler quickly covered and got the pinfall win. Winner by Pinfall….. The Grappler at the 5:20 mark. (42) Earthquake Ferris Interview http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-H0YWkyMV8Dc/Tefj8pUU71I/AAAAAAAAB1Y/6XmTLwyXyG0/s1600/Earthquake%2BFerris.jpg & http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_DutchSavage.jpg Earthquake Ferris comes to the ring with a microphone. Earthquake Ferris: I made myself a goal that I would win the PNW Tag Team Titles and even though I’m wrestling tonight in a non-title match with Carl Styles as my partner, I feel as I need someone else. So I sat down with Dutch Savage this morning and asked him if he would become my manager. He said he would think about and let me know. Well Savage I’m asking you once again, in front of all these people and the folks watching at home. Will you be my manager? Dutch Savage is seen getting out of his chair in the Crows Nest and walks down to the ring. He walks up to Earthquake Ferris and ………. offers his right hand out to Ferris. Earthquake Ferris shacks his hand. Earthquake Ferris: Together we will be unstoppable. Savage stand next to Earthquake Ferris has Carl Styles come down to the ring for there match. Earthquake Ferris and Cocoa Somoa start the match with Ferris getting the early advantage. Ferris makes a tag to Carl Styles, which then Styles quickly takes a poke to eye allowing Somoa to tag in Ricky Sanatana. Somoa and Sanatana worked as the perfect heel team, cutting Styles to there side of the ring for most of the match. About the six minute mark Styles was able to hit a short clothesline and was able to get the hot tag to Ferris. Ferris proceeds to take down both Somoa and Sanatana, even throwing Sanatana threw the ropes to the outside. The ending came as Ferris tag back in Styles and Somoa ducking a clothesline attempt from Styles. Somoa got a quick roll-up, placing his feet on the ropes for extra leverage to get the three count. Winner by Pinfall….. Cocoa Somoa and Ricky Sanatana at the 7:31 mark. You’re a small, unimportant little bug, which I intend to squish tonight. Rip Oliver: You should really mind your own business Sawyer or you could receive the same fate as Snuka tonight. Buddy Rose: That’s right Sawyer, we have are our cavalry as well. The Assassin is seen in the background just grinning. Buddy Rose & Buzz Sawyer did not have good chemistry during the match. A ton of stalling from Rose at the beginning of the match as he talked smack with the fans and getting together with Rip Oliver and The Assassin on several occasions. When they final got together, Sawyer gained the quick advantage and had Rose really reeling. The match turned when Rose reversed a whip, sending Sawyer into the ropes, allowing Oliver to trip him, sending Sawyer face first to the mat. Rose got some good punches in and then body slamming Sawyer to the mat and applies a good looking chin lock. The crowd was fully behind Sawyer as they started cheering him on the get out of the hold. Sawyer got out of the hold and went bouncing of the ropes and once again Oliver was there to trip him up but Sawyer did not fall this time, allowing Rose to send him over the top rope from a clothesline. Rose went to the far corner brining the ref with him, as Oliver and The Assassin began kicking Sawyer on the ground. Sawyer was finally able to get back into the ring and began to get some momentum going his way when he blocked a punch from Rose and firing one back. Sawyer got a quick roll-up for a two count and followed it up a another two count off a quick slam. The ending came when Rose countered a whip into the ropes, sending Sawyer crashing into the referee. Sawyer then hit a nice powerslam on Rose. Oliver quickly jumped into the ring and hit Sawyer with a piledriver. Oliver draped Rose’s body over Sawyer, then getting the referee over the make the three count. Winner by Pinfall…. Buddy Rose at the 16:37 mark. (43) http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SDt3RUCF66E/TeflTZtwkTI/AAAAAAAAB14/H7vjrbfR3UY/s1600/Buddy%2BRose%2B2.jpghttp://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VpLsjTDvsV8/TefkfBK1w4I/AAAAAAAAB1o/AyZLGBsXnW0/s1600/Rip%2BOliver.jpghttp://4.bp.blogspot.com/-h6J0oQ5bb40/TeflHfyxeaI/AAAAAAAAB1w/Ef9m2hFauwo/s1600/Cuban%2BAssassin.jpghttp://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_BuzzSawyer.jpghttp://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_JimmySnuka2-1.jpghttp://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_JohnNord2.jpg Buzz Sawyer Beatdown Buddy Rose, Rip Oliver & The Assassin begin to beat down on Buzz Sawyer, when Jimmy Snuka, with his head still bandaged, comes running out from the back with a chair. The crowd is going crazy with the appearance of Snuka. Rose, Oliver & The Assassin exit the ring. Snuka checks on Sawyer and does not see John Nord come from the back with his own chair. Just as Snuka turns around, from checking on Sawyer, Nord drills Snuka with the chair. Oliver, Rose & The Assassin join Nord in the ring. Oliver proceeds to pick up Snuka and gives him a piledriver on the chair, in the middle of the ring. Oliver, Rose, The Assassin & Nord raise there hands to the crowd booing the group. (50) Overall (43) Show Notes: Not very happy about the Main Event score, but will chalk that up to bad chemistry between Rose and Sawyer. I like the storyline between the group of Rose, Oliver, The Assassin and Nord. Was thinking about calling them The Army or The Clan to have a nice PNW history being part of the show. I do not really have a use for The Grappler yet but he is still good and can be useful as soon as I find the right feud for him. Dutch Savage and Earthquake Ferris actually make a good team and the search for a partner will continue. I have plans for Al Madril in the future, so keeping him happy with some wins will go a long way towards getting him there. Burning Fury is a good tag team and I really hope they can get some good momentum together and experience. Archangel and Art Barr really surprised me and it might be a good idea and try to get Art Barr higher up the card. Next Show Predictions Main Event Buzz Sawyer v. John Nord Match #1: Cocoa Samoa v. The young, ****y Southern Rockers were in disbelieve, much to the delight of the crowd. The Southern Rockers turned the tide when Scott Peterson hit a low blow on Don Running Bear and getting the tag to Steve Doll. The Southern Rockers took over after that and even a hot tag to Billy Two Eagles from Running Bear could not stop the Southern Rockers. The Southern Rockers ended the match with a Double DDT on Don Running Bear, with Steve Doll getting the pin. Winner by Pinfall……. Southern Rockers at the 5:02 mark. Is Snuka well enough to watch you back once again. Buzz Sawyer: Well I talked with Snuka this morning and he says he has not been cleared to wrestle from the doctors and he does not know when he will be back. The Assassin stalled at the beginning of the match, yelling at the crowd, smacking hats of the children in the front row. At the beginning of the match, after every move The Assassin hit on Archangel, he would raise his arms in victory. Archangel was able to get a quick two count of a roll-up while The Assassin was celebrating. Archangel hit some quick dropkicks and a clothesline that threw The Assassin over the top rope. The Assassin was able to gain a little control once he reentered the ring but the quickness of Archangel was two much. John Nord quickly came running to the ring to help The Assassin but Archangel was able to reverse a whip, causing The Assassin run into Nord, who was standing on the apron. A roll-up and a three count gave Archangel the victory. Winner by Pinfall….. Archangel at the 6:19 mark. Burning Fury started the match on fire, hitting some nice dropkicks, arm drags and using some quick tags to keep the bigger, veteran on there reeling. Mike Miller was able to reverse a whip into the ropes and get a powerful clothesline on Brady Boone to stop the Burning Fury momentum. Miller and Abbuda Dein used there wealth of tag team experience to isolate Boone. Several times Boone tried to make to the hot tag to Super Ninja but was dragged back to the other corner. Boone was finally able to hit the tag to Super Ninja who proceeded to knock down Miller and Dein several times. The ending came as Super Ninja knocked Miller out of the ring, allowing for the recovered Boone and himself to hit the Double Superkick on Dein. Super Ninja gets the three count. Winner by Pinfall….. Buzz Sawyer got the early advantage, causing John Nord to exit the ring several times to talk over the game plan with the rest of the Army. Rip Oliver tripped up Sawyer, allowing Nord to get the advantage back. Nord got some good punches and clothesline and even a hard slam on Sawyer before going for the cover. Sawyer was able to kick out but then a bear hug from the big man had Sawyer trapped. It looked like Sawyer was a out cold but was able come back, breaking the hold and making a furious comeback. The comeback was halted when Oliver seeing that Nord was in trouble jumped into the ring and attack Sawyer. The referee calls for the bell as John Nord has been disqualified. Winner by DQ…. Rip Oliver gets Sawyer gets ready to piledrive Buzz Sawyer on the cement floor when Brett Sawyer comes running from the back and makes the save with a chair. Rip Oliver lets Buzz Sawyer go, as The Army members take off to the dressing room. Brett Sawyer looks over his brother as officials check on him. (50)[/QuoTE] Overall (46) Show Notes: The wrestling was not great and I expected that as this was aimed at moving the feuds, angles and storylines along. I went with The Army for the group, as it sounded better then the Clan. Jimmy Snuka will be left off the shows for a little bit, as this is the 80’s and piledrivers on the chairs would knock you out of action for a while. Wrestling Extravaganza is a big PPV type show, as this is the 80’s as well and big shows did not happen every month. I think I will rotate every other month for the big shows, as I believe it allows the feuds and storylines to develop a little better. Please let me know what you think about the shows. A one point Wiskowski almost got counted out after arguing with the crowd after laying Rex King down with a solid clothesline. Wiskowski ended the carnage when he hit the Pancake Piledriver. Ed Wiskowski moves onto the next round of the Television Tournament. Winner by Pinfall….. Ed Wiskowski at the 4:04 mark. Archangel seems to be growing more and more confidence, as the crowd is beginning to notice him. The ending came when Archangel hit the Hellbreaker (Double Underhook Powerbomb Pin) and got the pin. Winner by Pinfall….. Archangel at the 4:46 mark. (49) Sawyer Brothers Interview with Don Owen http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_BuzzSawyer.jpghttp://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_BrettSawyer.jpghttp://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_DonOwen.jpg Don Owen: So you two have a big test tonight when you face Buddy Rose and Rip Oliver. Are you guys up to the challenge? Brett Sawyer: What kind of question is that Owen? Of course were ready for the challenge. Buzz Sawyer: Sorry Don about my brother, he can get fired up sometimes. But we are ready for the challenge. Not only do we need to pay attention to Rose and Oliver but we to pay attention to the two little goons on the outside. Brett Sawyer: It does not matter Oliver and Rose if you have ever person in the locker room on your side, we are going to take you down. Brett Sawyer storms off and his brother Buzz just shrugs and walks after him. (53) Match #2 http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_SuperNinja.jpg Super Ninja v. http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_SheikAbdullahAli.jpg Sheik Abdullah Ali Hassan Match Notes: The match that had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action. Sheik Abdullah Ali Hassan started the match by keeping the faster Super Ninja on the mat with some nice clothesline and a chinlock. Super Ninja was able to get back to his feet but was quickly caught in a headlock. Once again Super Ninja escaped but was once again on the mat in a chinlock, as the strategy of Hassan started the to make the crowd restless. The crowd started yelling at Hassan, getting some good heat. Super Ninja was able to escape once again and hit a high dropkick, to the applause of the crowd. Super Ninja started to take over with his speed and finished the match with a good looking Missile Dropkick and getting the three count. Super Ninja moves to the next round of the Television Tournament. Winner by Pinfall….. Super Ninja at the 7:14 mark. (42) Dutch Savage Interview w/ Earthquake and his new partner http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_DutchSavage.jpghttp://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_EarthquakeFerris.jpg Dutch Savage: I would like to announce to everyone that I have found Earthquake Ferris newest partner and that would be. Savage points to the entrance and out walks Jesse Barr to the cheers of the crowd. Dutch Savage: No one can stop this combination. You are looking at the New Tag Team Champions. Ferris and Barr shake hands and start getting ready for there match. (42) Match #3 http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_CocoaSamoa.jpghttp://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_RickySantana2.jpg Cocoa Samoa & Ricky Santana v. http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_EarthquakeFerris.jpghttp://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_JesseBarr.jpg Earthquake & Barr Match Notes: That match had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action. The team of Earthquake & Barr started the match with Cocoa Samoa and Rickey Santana on fire. Earthquake and Barr took down Samoa and Santana on a regular basis before throwing both of them over the top rope onto the floor below. The crowd was getting loud as Samoa and Santana tried to regroup on the outside. The match turned in favor of the heels when Samoa got a cheap shot on Barr. The experienced team of Samoa and Santana keep Barr near there corner and taunting Ferris in the process. The crowd was beginning to go crazy as the ref did not see the tag between Barr and Ferris and ordered Ferris to go back to his corner. After a little while, Barr was finally able to make the hot tag and Ferris went after both Santana and Samoa. Santana and Samoa could not stop the well rested wrestler and threw out Samoa to the floor. Barr recovered and started brawling with Samoa on the outside as Ferris hit Santana with a DDT. Samoa was unable to get to make the save, allowing Ferris to get the three count. Winner by Pinfall….. Earthquake & Barr at the 10:26 mark and the new NWA Pacific Northwest Tag Team Champions(54) The Army Interview http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_BuddyRose2.jpghttp://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_RipOliver.jpghttp://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_JohnNord2.jpghttp://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_CubanAssassin.jpg In the back, The Army has a microphone, laughing with each other. Buddy Rose: Oh no boys, the Sawyer Brothers are coming after us. Run for your lives. Rip Oliver: Where so sorry that we attacked you, Sawyer Brothers. Oliver then starts laughing some more, with the rest of the group starts laughing with him. Buddy Rose: But seriously Sawyer Brothers do you even think you have a chance against me and Champion? Rip Oliver: They must or they just like the feeling….. The Assassin take the mic, interrupting Oliver. The Assassin: That’s right. The Army will rule the night. The rest of the group starts laughing uncontrollably once again. (56) Main Event http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_BuzzSawyer.jpghttp://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_BrettSawyer.jpg Buzz Sawyer & Brett Sawyer v. http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_BuddyRose2.jpghttp://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_RipOliver.jpg Buddy Rose & Rip Oliver Match Notes: The match had great heat and good action. All four wrestlers started wrestling from the start of the bell. The referee was trying his hardest to get some order to the match. Sawyer brothers hit a double clothesline on Rose sending him over the top rope and landing on the floor below and then hit Oliver with a double suplex. John Nord jumped on the apron distracting the Sawyers before they would go for a pin attempt. Brett went after Nord as Buzz final went for the pin but Rose was able to make the save. Finally the match looked like a tag match, with both teams having a member on the outside in the corner. The team of Rose and Oliver had Brett cutoff from his partner for what seemed for a lifetime. Every time it looked like Brett would make the tag, Nord or The Assassin would trip Buzz from the apron or distracting the referee so he missed the tag. The crowd starting chanting Brett…Brett…Brett as he tired once again to make the tag to his brother. Both Brett and Oliver clotheslining each other and the crowd was beginning to go crazy as Brett started crawling to reach his brother. Oliver was able to get the tag to his partner first but then with his last strength Brett finally got the tag to his brother. The crowd was going crazy as Rose started screaming no and walking back to his corner. Buzz had no mercy on him and started pounding him in the corner. Brett was dragged to the outside by Oliver and Oliver started to go for the Piledriver. Buzz seeing this stopped his beating of Rose and went to make the save. Rose followed him and all four members started brawling on the outside. The referee started his ten count. He reached ten and still the two teams were brawling on the outside. Finally the referee called for the bell. Draw by countout at the 16.32 mark. (58) Brawl http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_BuzzSawyer.jpghttp://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_BrettSawyer.jpghttp://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_BuddyRose2.jpghttp://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_RipOliver.jpghttp://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_JohnNord2.jpghttp://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_CubanAssassin.jpg The Army and the Sawyer Brothers brawl with each on the outside of the ring. The Assassin is going one on one with Brett Sawyer until Brett grabs the ring bell and knocks out The Assassin. John Nord, Buddy Rose and Rip Oliver and beating down on Buzz Sawyer when Brett comes over to help and knocks out Nord with the ring bell. Officials come pouring from the back to separate the two groups just as Brett was about to go after Rose and Oliver with the ring bell. (50) Overall (54) Show Notes: That was a great show, with some great wrestling and angles. The story lines are moving nicely. I think I have figured out how to keep the show moving at a nice pace and working around all the Heels in the promotion. Some big things are still coming, so hang onto your seat. Please let me know what you think about the shows. Thank you for reading. NEXT SHOW PREDICTIONS Main Event: The Grappler & Ed Wiskowski v. The Sawyer Brothers Match #1 Burning Fury v. This is my first try at a diary, so I believe there will be some up and downs with the diary but as long as I follow my plan I can do this for a while. I'm trying to stay with the true form of the PNW but by this time, the PNW was beginning to go down hill. But if I can hold onto my talent and get some young talent to come in every once and a while hopefully the PNW can live on in this diary. Once again thank you. Somoa and Santana seemed to get there act together and took control of the match, keeping Boone on there side of the ring. The crowd was really getting into it, as Boone just could not get the tag. Boone was finally able to make the tag after a nice dropkick on Santana. The finish came when Super Ninja and Boone knocked Somoa out of the ring and then hit Santana with the Double Superkick. Super Ninja got the pin.

Winner by Pinfall….. Zergon
Main Event: Buzz Sawyer v. John Nord (BHK1978 match for being the first person to do a prediction) Nord seems to be number three guy on his stable so I would assume that Buzz goes over here. Match #1 Ed Wiswoski v. The Grappler Could go either way but if this is going to be a feud then Grappler winning this one looks like better option to me. Match #2 Super Ninja v. Al Madril (Television Tournament) Basically I´m just going with who I like more. Match #3 Earthquake & Barr v. The Southern Rockers Doh, I totally forgot that Barr was one half of the tag champs when I made my last predictions, oh well time to fix that one up and pick the champs for this one. Match #4 Timothy Flowers v. Brady Boone (Television Tournament) Boone seems to be mainly a tag guy so I think that Flowers colud use the win more. Dark Match #1 Art Barr v. Curtis Thompson squash in order to move Barr slightly up on the ladders. Dark Match #2 Archangel v. Chris Colt Angel picks up another win.
BHK1978
Main Event: Buzz Sawyer v. John Nord (BHK1978 match for being the first person to do a prediction) Much like Zergon said John is not as highly ranked as Buzz so Buzz should walk away with the win here. Match #1 Ed Wiswoski v. The Grappler Match #2 Super Ninja v. Al Madril (Television Tournament) Match #3 Earthquake & Barr v. The Southern Rockers Match #4 Timothy Flowers v. Brady Boone (Television Tournament) Dark Match #1 Art Barr v. Curtis Thompson I know what Art will become and this is a battle of jobbers but I still think Curtis is higher up on the card. Dark Match #2 Archangel v. Chris Colt

I was going to give full report on the matches move for move but it got to hard and I started repeating the same moves over and over. So I went with the match notes to go over the major points of the match or any other information that is needed. I like the original roster as it has a good mix of younger and older talent. I just to bring in some other talent for the short term or for storyline purposes.

I have really try to get the feeling of the old PNW. I have watch a ton of youtube videos of the matches. There was alot of DQ or draws in the main events and only a couple matches on the undercard. I have no clue how the non-televised shows went has does are harder to find.

I added two arenas as I did not see them in the mod. Portland Sports Arena which is owned by PNW at the time. I could not find the amount of seats to arena so I just went with 2000. Also added the Portland Memorial Coliseum as PNW did some of there biggest shows there, made it 15000 for the seats. When I do shows outside of Portland I will add more arenas that the PNW wrestled in.

Theheel83
You have done a real nice job with PNW. This is the fed that I grew up with back in the day and you are right. There were a lot of double countouts and dq's. Also remember that PNW loved the 2 out of 3 fall main events, especially title matches but also just in general. The TV shows that PNW did all came out of the good ole Portland Sports Arena and I do believe you hit it right with the attendance of around 2000. The PNW area had two TV shows. One that was Portland Wrestling which was the 90 minute show that everyone saw on KPTV. The other was a show "Big Time Wrestling" that was 60 minutes and was on the indepedant station in Seattle/Tacoma area. If memory serves the 60 minute show was 1st taped and played the following week (week behind in Washington) and then the Portland show. PNW was famous for running the 1st match of the night as two young babyfaces who often wrestled to a 10 minute draw. Most of the interviews were done in the Crow's nest with Coss and/or Stasiak. Good luck with this and I will start watching as this was an era that I was going to look at doing my 1st diary, but I will get behind what you are doing since you started off very well capturing the feel of Big Time Wrestling

If memory serves the 60 minute show was 1st taped and played the following week (week behind in Washington) and then the Portland show. Your right, old Don Owen loved his 2 out of 3 falls and I was going to do that but only a few wrestlers on the roster can do matches over 15 minutes, so having a 2 out of 3 match around 15 minutes is hard. For the big matches I will be using the 2 out of 3 falls type matches. I grandfather took me to my first wrestling match in the late 80's and we went to the Portland Sporta Arena, as he and his own father grew up on PNW. He told some crazy stories about that place during the 70's and early 80's when PNW had reached hits greatest heights. From what I have read and remember, Portland wrestling came on late saturday night, as most shows was taped on thursday or wednesday and was 90 minutes on KPTV. Big Time Wrestling was syndicated to Washington and Northern California a week later and was 60 minutes. It sucks that Don Owen never paid KPTV to keep the Portland Wrestling library, as most of the shows where destroyed. I know Vince and boys would destroy it but it would be fun to see a DVD production on the history of the PNW, one of the few regional promotions that survived Vince's wrestling machine.
