Mattywood
http://s2.excoboard.com/forums/20864/user/215211/519327.jpg Start Date: January 1, 2001 It's early 2001, and the wrestling world seems to be changing at an ever increasing pace. The WWF is riding a huge wave of momentum. WCW, however, is in the toilet and looks to be on the brink of being sold. ECW isn't doing much better either as they continue to lose money despite still putting on good shows. However, things seem to be on the rise in Texas of all places. With the legacy of World Class Championship Wrestling just a distant memory, it was assumed that the Texas territory, specifically the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex region, was dead. However, things couldn't be further from the truth as a new independent wrestling promotion has been started in the form of PCW: Professional Championship Wrestling. Based in Arlington, Texas, PCW is the brainchild of a local gym operator, Mike Bussey. He has pooled together some of the finest local talent, with young up and comers such as "Main Event" Mike Foxx, Zane Morris, Jared Steele and Kevin Douglas. He's also managed to get a few veterans into the locker room such as Action Jackson and Khrusher Kong(formerly of the Kongs tag team that had a stint in WCW back in 1993, most famous for taking on Ric Flair and Sting at Clash of the Champions). And not to be outdone, PCW has landed the services of none other than former ECW wrestlers Redd Dogg(Rodney Mack) and Jazz. Hell, PCW even got Michael Shane(Matt Bentley) on their roster as well. But it doesn't stop there. PCW has landed a local television deal with the Dallas/Fort Worth UPN affiliate, KTXA 21, to air their one-hour TV show on Saturday mornings at 11 AM. Currently, PCW is running their shows at The Gym in Arlington, Texas, inside the Six Flags Mall. However, PCW is in the process of building a new home venue simply known as the PCW Arena, not too far from the Six Flags Mall. Can PCW fill the void that had been left by World Class so many moons ago? Or will it meet the same fate that met promotions such as the GWF, who tried to fill the void left by World Class but failed? It's up to you to decide(unless of course you decide to play as another promotion, ha!) Some notes: -I'm having this mod beta tested at the moment. Kijar is helping out on that front, and I may have someone else helping on that front as well. Anybody else that wants to beta test, shoot me a PM with your e-mail address and I'll e-mail you the zip file. There's no pictures currently with the beta test, which I didn't think was too important at this moment until it's time for a final release. -This mod is using Genadi's awesome 2001 End Of An Era mod as it's base, which I have left mostly untouched, save for a few minor tweaks here and there, such as replacing Shotgun Saturday Night with Jakked, adding in Narratives and replacing all of the User Characters. I do have Genadi's permission, for those wondering. -I've tried to include as many local workers as I could, including ones who are yet to debut. However, I have found it a lot harder to get info on them than to get info on your more recognizable wrestlers. It was mainly birth months, birth years and debut years that were hard to find for some workers. So I'm warning you now, some of those dates may/will be inaccurate. However, I tried to get them as close as possible. And yes, I used a lot of the recommended web sites that have been posted on here. -A big thanks to Genadi, Hive, forlan, Mr. Macho, Sonfaro, Mr. Canada and anybody else who's name escapes me for their data in their respective mods that I have incorporated into this mod. -With PCW being the centerpiece of this mod, I took the advice of Hive and gave some generous stats to the PCW workers as it relates to their strengths. So for say Mike Foxx, I gave him some pretty good mic skills and charisma as he really came into his own around this time period. -I added in non-agression pacts for PCW with the WWF, WCW and ECW so that those three companies wouldn't just poach the PCW talent straight off the bat as the workers I have under contract with PCW helped bring PCW along in its infancy, and most of them stuck around for a few years. -Couldn't find any real info or good pictures for Mike Bussey, so I just went ahead and made his son, Thomas Bussey, owner of PCW(he would soon portray the on-screen owner in 2004). Thank goodness for Myspace! -Did some testing myself and wouldn't you know, not even a week into the thing, one of the IWA groups(can't remember which one off the top of my head) poached Derek Michaels, the color commentator, from PCW, and he wound up leaving PCW altogether. So I have given both Derek Michaels and Rick Vovk, who were the announcers for PCW for a good couple of years, loyalty to PCW. -After beta testing is done, and after I make any necessary tweaks, I will release version 1.0 of PCW: The Beginning. No set date other than coming soon. In the meantime, enjoy this very first segment that ever aired on PCW television. And if you look through the angles and go to the selection of Press Conference angles, you'll see that one of them is loosely based on this opening segment. Mattywood
Good thing I started testing this myself, as I saw that Tim Storm and Apocalypse were already getting pushed as Main Eventers. I was trying to figure out what I did wrong, and come to find out, I had imported them from a 2011 mod that I had added them to and forgot to lower their pop. Kijar
Don't know if this will help you, but Rick Manning was fired on the first day in my test game.
Kijar
And Canyon and Redd Dogg too, apparently.
Mattywood
That's too funny. I could see maybe firing one of the refs because the smaller companies tend to just have one ref when run by the AI. And I could see one of the midcarders like Canyon, Eddie Craven or Kevin Douglas getting fired. But Redd Dogg?!
Kijar
I was as surprised as you are.
Hive
It could be an issue of money. How much cash do they start with? What kind of roster size is their owner set to prefer? And how flashy is he?
Mattywood
It could be an issue of money. How much cash do they start with? What kind of roster size is their owner set to prefer? And how flashy is he? I've got PCW starting out with $250,000. Roster size preferred is set to Medium, and the owner's Flashiness rating(assuming you mean the skill set like for other workers) is set to a big, fat zero. Unless you were talking about Redd Dogg's(Rodney Mack's) Flashiness rating, but that's zero as well.

Mattywood
Finance is set to Average. So I'm guessing I should set it to Flashy, which wouldn't be all that unrealistic considering some of the big names PCW had brought in over the years, especially with all the guys from TNA that were brought in for one or two-time deals. Kijar
Uh, apparently the trainer of the PCW Academy was fired so the entire dojo was shut down..?

Kijar
Usually someone is, so I figured it was just a glitch in the game or something.
Mattywood
First part of post removed as I may have answered my own question(see edit below) EDIT: Well I feel like an idiot. I was looking at the PCW Academy and saw that I had it set to open in July 2001. So that may be why it shut down. I'm changing it to January 2001, and even going to up Rodney Mack's overness a bit so he's not one of the first ones fired.
