Dave Hansen
Assuming I meet the depth chart requirements for my team, is there any penalty or negative impacts of cutting very poor players from my roster? Does it make any difference if the player has a scholarship or not? I have 4 very poor players (2 Frosh, 1 Soph, 1 Jr) that I am thinking about cutting to free up room for more new recruits next year. Is there a limit to the number of players you can have under scholarship at any one time?
Tim Plum
Cutting players will free up space and the game has a 75 player roster limit. I usually cut a 1.0/1.0 player once they become a junior or senior because I figure they have no room for growth. I caution you about cutting freshmen or sophmores because you may need the depth against injury.
Dave Hansen
Tim, thanks. I assume that if I cut a player on schlorship there are no negative impacts on team morale or any negative effects on future recruiting efforts.
