UFC: Modern Warriors in the Default (Redone) Database

Recommended Posts

January, 2002

Mixed Martial Arts, and particularly the UFC, under the watchful eye of new President Dana White, have made great strides towards legitimizing the sport in the eyes of casual sport fans. While, the hardcore MMA faithful hasn't wavered in their support, White and team have charted out a course towards mainstream legitimacy in an effort to grow the sport they love into something bigger than anyone would have imagined during the sports infancy. The second generation of fighters have begun to debut, and if White is to be believed, they represent an evolution to the styles of martial arts that have been displayed so far in the cage.

White promises to grow the UFC to staggering heights even in the face of stiff competition from Pride FC.

Notes: This dynasty is using the Default Redone MOD, with the companies from Tap or Snap, and some fighters from Modern Warriors 4. The database was set to begin in January of 2002, with Silva, Penn, Velasquez, Rampage, St-Pierre and Dan Hardy already having debuted. I have Shogun, Jon Jones, Brock, and Aldo set to debut in the future.

This diary will focus primarily on the above fighters as they build their MMA careers inside the default database. I will update the diary with the biggest stories from each month, and have some matchups that people can predict.

So much for getting a couple of fights under his belt . . . full card to follow for those who would like to make some predictions.
