Four Corners Of Chaos Redux: WWF

Recommended Posts

This thread will follow all things WWF in the new Four Corners Of Chaos game, set in the year 2001

Inky The Squid Boy playing WWF

Ben5 playing WCW

Charasmatic Enigma playing NWA:TNA

20LEgend playing ECW

At the end of the year 2000 the WWF was almost the only game in town. As 2001 begins the North American wrestling landscape has changed forever. The WWF have suffered huge losses in terms of star power and roster size and the once dominant force in Sports Entertainment face a race against time to steady the ship and reassert themselves as number 1

With Vince McMahon increasingly bogged down in the business aspect of the World Wrestling Federation as well as ugly court proceedings - with the US government and his fellow wrestling promoters and with the World Wildlife Fund - more of the creative control has been handed to his writers and booking committee. Adam Horovitz has been installed as new head booker and, along with executive producer Kevin Dunn, will be looked to as the man to carry the load in Mr. McMahon's stead.

With a massively decreased roster the WWF have retired the Womens' Championship, Hardcore Championship, European Championship and Light Heavyweight Championship. The World Heavyweight Championship and Intercontinental Championship are left vacant. Edge and Christian are alone in having championship gold around their waists, the duo remain Tag Team Champions

Raw Is War - Monday Week 1 January

Live from The Thomas And Mack Centre in Las Vegas, Nevada

Raw Is War begins with the customary fireworks display. As soon as the smoke has cleared Vince McMahon's theme music hits. He power walks to the ring and the crowd are eager to hear what the Chairman has to say.

"Before I get to the announcements which I have to make, I'd like to remind you all that no matter what has transpired recently The World Wrestling Federation is still the leader in sports entertainment and there's still nothing which provides greater action, drama and excitement anywhere on your television. That much I can assure you. Now. Onto the first order of business.

The search is on for a new WWF commissioner. With the changes to the world of sports entertainment I am sadly unable to give my full attention to the in-ring aspects of this organisation and so I am looking for somebody to take control and I am happy to say I will be able to reveal who that person is, next week live on Rar Is War.

In the meantime, one in-ring aspect of this company which I have addressed, is the vacant Intercontinental Championship. A tournament has been organised to crown a new champion and that tournament will begin right here, tonight!"

The crowd respond appreciatively but Vince isn't done yet

"There is just one more thing which I came out here to say. As you all know the Royal Rumble is scheduled to take place later this month and this year the Royal Rumble match is going to be of special importance. That is because this year the prize for the winner will not be a World Title shot in the main event of WrestleMania. This year, for only the second time in the World Wrestling Federation's history, the Royal Rumble match will decide the new champion of the world!"

The crowd pops for this news and Vince struts off up the ramp

WWF Tag Team Championship Match

Edge and Christian vs Kaientai 2001

A good match failed to draw a crowd reaction equal to the action due to the young team of Kaientai 2001 being largely unknown. The debutants should find fast success in the World Wrestling Federation however, if they continue with displays like these, Kaz Hayashi and KANJI looking competetive even in defeat. Christian eventually scored the victory after an Inverted Neckbreaker on KANJI

Victors: Edge and Christian

The scene of E&C holding their titles aloft fades to black and a video plays touting the debut of Goldberg later on in the show.

Intercontinental Championship Tournament First Round

Terry Funk

vs

Chris Kanyon

Chris Kanyon's debut in the World Wrestling Federation probably didn't go as planned. The new arrival had a decent outing but the veteran Funk is seemingly impervious to pain, taking everything Kanyon threw at him and coming back for more. Funk eventually hit the Piledriver and scored the win, advancing to the semi-finals of the tournament

Intercontinental Championship Tournament First Round

Al Snow

vs

Monty Brown

After a commercial break Monty Brown makes his way to the ring. The former Buffalo Bill is an impressive specimen, bedecked in a silk shirt with a huge gold chain around his neck. Brown takes a microphone and states that as the Alpha Male and the finest physical specimen in the WWF locker room he only keeps the appropriate company and as such he'd like to introduce his valet to everybody, Stacy Kiebler.

After being joined at ringside by his new arm candy Monty's opponent Al Snow makes his way to the ring. Despite his veteran wiles Snow was outmatched by the physically awesome newcomer. Despite dominating much of the match this was something of a baptism of fire for the Alpha Male as the Vegas crowd really had it in for him, sensing how green he is and jumping all over him

The harshness of the crowd was perhaps undeserved though, the match wasn't a disaster by any means. Monty Brown wrapped things up with the debut of his finisher, The Pounce.

Victor: Monty Brown

C-

------------------------------

Following another short commercial break we are greeted with the word "BANG!" booming through the arena's PA system before a pyro explodes punctuating the word. With that Dallas walks out onto the stage. The new arrival looks full of himself as he makes his way down the ramp and into the ring. The fans were at first happy to see him, but that soon changed when he began to speak. He told the fans not to worry about anybody who had departed recently because the real People's Champion was here now and while his name may have changed his skills had not. Dallas went on to guarantee his victory in the Royal Rumble and as he began talking about creating a WrestleMania moment the Honky Tonk Man's theme song hit the speakers

Honky approached the ring, guitar in hand, with the Bang Man looking totally bemused. Honky greeted him with a handshake and spoke of Dallas' previous WrestleMania moment, providing photgraphic evidence of him driving the HTM to the ring at WrestleMania VI. Honky laughed at the image and offered to remind Dallas of the good times with a number. Giving Dallas his guitar to hold, Honky went into a dance routine as his theme music played again. The routine and the trip down memory lane were cut short however, as the self-proclaimed People's Champion blasted Honky with his own guitar and left him laying

(C+)

----------------------------

After the Bang Man makes his exit Stone Cold appears on the TitanTron and the crowd goes wild even at the sight of him.

"What?" asks Stone Cold

"WHAT?" The fans in attendance respond

"What?" he asks again

"WHAT?" they respond

"What?"

(WHAT?)

"What?"

(WHAT?)

"I gotta tell you, Stone Cold loves it here in Las Vegas"

The crowd explodes, granting Stone Cold his cheap pop

"I rolled into town last night and I started drinking" (WHAT?) "I drank a beer" (WHAT?) "Two beers" (WHAT?) "Three beers" (WHAT?) "Four beers" (WHAT?) "and a bloody mary"

"Then I hit the casinos" (WHAT) "And I started gambling" (WHAT) "I cleaned them out on every game" (WHAT) "Craps" (WHAT) "Poker" (WHAT) "Blackjack" (WHAT) "Roullette" (WHAT) "Slots!" (WHAT) "When I cashed in my chips they said 'God damn Stone Cold you must be the luckiest man alive' I said 'Stone Cold Steve Austin makes his own luck and that's the reason why I'm gonna walk into the Royal Rumble in four weeks time and I'm gonna walk out the new World Wrestling Federation Champion"

(WHAT) "I said I'm gonna walk out the World Wrestling Federation Champion" (WHAT) "The World Wrestling Federation Champion" (WHAT) "I said I'm gonna win the Royal Rumble" (WHAT) "The Royal Rumble" (WHAT) "Stone Cold's gonna win the Royal Rumble, what part of this don't you understand?" (WHAT)

"I'm gonna say this one more time, real clear. Stone Cold Steve Austin is gonna walk into New York city in four weeks and he's gonna enter the Royal Rumble and he's gonna open a can of whup ass on every man in that ring and he's gonna become the new World Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Champion and there's not a man alive can stop that from happening. And that's the bottom line - WHAT - cos Stone Cold said so!"

With that Austin tears off out of camera shot, leaving the fans still on a high as the shot of the hallway where Stone Cold has been standing fades to commercial

(A)

-----------------------

Stone Cold Steve Austin

vs

Stevie Richards

The crowd were hot to see Stone Cold in action and the contest didn't let them down, Austin being on top of his game. Though the result was likely never in doubt in most people's minds, Stevie Richards will have done his value nothing but good with a display of this quality against the Texas Rattlesnake. Austin got the victory after a Stunner (prompting new WWF lead announcer Joey Styles to scream "Stunner! Stunner!" reminiscent of his old "Catfight!" calling card)

Victor: Steve Austin

B

-----------------------

After a commercial we see Stevie Richards in back looking the worse for wear. He rounds a corner and bumps into Raven. Raven looks Richards up and down with clear disdain

"What happened to you, Richards?" Raven asks "You used to be on the right path. With my guidance you were growing into a man capable of great success. Now look at you. Nothing but a whipping boy for the likes of Steve Austin, a mindless, drunken redneck."

Richards rankles at Raven's words but says nothing, Raven continues

"You're a mess Richards. You're lost. The Right To Censor? That's not what you're about. You didn't believe the things you were saying. You were just angry. You were tired of being ignored. Tired of being forgotten. Lashing out because you wanted these people and these WWF superstars to listen to what you had to say and to give you the attention you've never been given. Attention you've never been given by anybody, but me."

While he talks Richards looks more and more like Raven is making sense to him

"Join me again Richards. Let me guide you and together we can make these people pay attention to us. Everybody will know our names. Everybody will watch when we act. Everybody will listen when we speak. Quote the Raven, nevermore"

With that Raven fixes Richards a stare before walking off. Stevie stands alone looking contemplative

(D+)

-------------------------------------

The Undertaker

vs

Road Warrior Animal

The Undertaker makes his way to the ring on his motorcycle but before his opponent arrives he demands a microphone and some time to speak. The American Bad Ass talks about the Royal Rumble and says that if anybody thinks they can get his near 7 foot, 300+ pound frame over the top rope they're dreaming but they're more than welcome to try. He says that goes for Steve Austin too - the mention of Austin's name sees Taker bombarded with "WHAT" chants for the duration of his promo, Taker looking more and more p****d as goes on. Doing his best to block out the crowd he goes on to say that this is his yard and he's gonna prove it in four weeks time, as well as right here tonight. With that he adds "send out the victim" and Road Warrior Animal's theme music hits

The crowd were a little cold for the ageing Animal, whose trademark Road Warrior selling (i.e none) let the match down, especially as this was supposed to see Undertaker sending a message. Despite this Undertaker looked strong and eventually scored the pinfall following a chokeslam

Victor: The Undertaker

--------------------------------

Goldberg

vs

Kevin Nash

Goldberg's debut and Kevin Nash's return bout fell just a bit short of what was expected, but was still an entertaining affair. A good back and forth encounter saw each man get in his fair share of offense and Kevin Nash do a surprising amount of selling - Big Sexy cannot be accused of phoning it in this night. Nash gained the upper hand late in the game after posting Goldberg as the two brawled around ringside. Goldberg turned the tides toward the end of the match however and launched into a trademark comeback. Nash eventually succumbed the Spear and Jackhammer, giving Goldberg the popular (and clean) win after almost 15 minutes

Victor: Goldberg

B-

-------------------------------

As Goldberg celebrates in the ring, growling into the hard camera, X-Pac appears from out of nowhere and hits Goldberg with a martial arts kick to the back of the skull. On commentary Joey Styles puts the attack over, asking what the hell X-Pac was doing sticking his nose into Goldberg's business. Pac's initial assault sent Goldberg into the corner where X-Pac lays in more kicks. Goldberg begins to mount a comeback but is blindsided by a Kevin Nash big boot to the face. The two men beat him down before Big Sexy lowers the straps and lays Goldberg out with a Jackknife Powerbomb.

Following the attack X-Pac and Nash share smiles. X-Pac holds out his arms looking for an embrace but Nash just shakes his head smiling. Instead he holds out a hand - middle fingers pressed to thumb with his index and little finger raised - X-Pac nods and does the same gesture, the two men bringing their hands to meet

"Oh my God" Joey Styles says on commentary "We all recognise that hand gesture. That's been the calling card of Kevin Nash and his cronies for years. Whatever the result of Kevin Nash and X-Pac's alliance is, I guarantee you it won't be good for the WWF"

The last image of Raw Is War is Nash and X-Pac holding their hands above their heads, flashing the old familiar symbol to the crowd

The following is taken from the website of the ProWrestling Lantern

- Management's feelings on the first Raw Is War of the new era were mostly positive. Creative are happy that the product is headed in the right direction and that more positives than negatives came out of the show

- Stevie Richards' performance left many backstage pleasantly surprised. The new creative department were apparently high on Richards to begin with and it is thought that his showing on Raw Is War has only furthered that sentiment. Sources say Richards' clash against Austin was originally planned as the main event but was bumped down for fear that Stevie lacked the necessary name value to headline a show. It is believed he will be given that opportunity at a time somewhere down the line

- Another big plus was the work of Joey Styles and Chris Cruise in the commentary booth. People have called the duo the most knowledgable announce team ever - Styles has a great knowledge of wrestling holds and general wrestling knowledge while Cruise is famed for his knowledge of the Mexican lucha scene. It is said that the two displayed good chemistry for a new announce team and are already gelling very well

- The biggest negative coming out of the first show was the mood backstage. The locker room is apparently very fragmented with wrestlers sticking together in small groups and there are reports of some bad attitudes behind the scenes

- The largest negative on-screen was said to be the debut of Monty Brown. Despite having a passable first match in the WWF management were reportedly "alarmed" at the reaction the crowd gave him and will be monitoring his progress very closely. There are unconfirmed reports that Brown has landed himself in hot water over a disciplinary matter on top of that. More on the story as it develops

Loved DDP and Austin, great segments. Though a fair warning: if you have DDP stalk The Undertaker's wife, I may have to hurt you physically.

Giving away Goldberg vs. Nash for free shows that you mean business, just too bad they underperformed.

I have much more dignified plans for the artist formerly known as Dallas Page. The whole card was sadly dragged down by the bad atmosphere in the locker room and there were a few who had trouble getting motivated (hello main event). All in all though it was okay, we can make this work

I don't mean to brag, but even with Scott Steiner, Tripl- err Paul Levesque and negative backstage rules, NWA:TNA is still rocking a 100% backstage

I'm having the motivation problems on a number of guys. It's not just my Main Event though. Guys like Scott Steiner got the note, which to some extent I expected. But guys like Brian Kendrick? To quote The Miz... Really?

Yeah I had some lower level guys too. Kaz Hayashi maybe? Somebody like that. Didn't understand it at all. My backstage problems are mocking me its all my favourite guys. The Ravens and Stone Colds of the world being extremely negative and such. Then there's poor old Juve, as well as being a party animal and a douche, all alone in a non-Spanish speaking locker room.

Sunday Night Heat Sunday Week 1 January 2001

We are welcomed to Sunday Night Heat by our announce team, Joey Styles, Chris Cruise and the latest addition to the team the Honky Tonk Man. The action begins without too much delay, however Bryan Danielson already in the ring as the announcers open the broadcast. His opponent is the debuting Kenta Kobashi

Kenta Kobashi

vs

Bryan Danielson

Cruise and Styles put Kobashi over strong, talking him up as being a force to be reckoned with in the ring and a huge star in Japan. Kobashi's performance backs up their claims, as he dismantled the youngster in short order. The fans in attendance were indifferent to the action however, not able to get behind the tiny jobber nor able to get worked up about the man from the orient who will have been unknown to all but a handful. After running through his repetoire Kobashi put Danielson out of his misery in under 5 minutes, all three members of the commentary team talking up the dominating display

Next we are whisked backstage to the APA's office. Too Cool enter and ask to buy into the game of blackjack the two are playing. Their failure to use the door to the office means their request is declined. One thing leads to another and a match to settle the issue is set for the climax of the show

D+

Cutting back to the ring the commentators touch briefly up the angle we just saw before the next match begins

Kaz Hayashi

vs

Juventud

Chris Cruise is in his element here, talking of Juve's exploits in Mexico and mentioning his father the lucha libre great, Fuerza Guerrera. It being Juve's (televised) WWF debut and only Kaz's second match the fans couldn't invest fully in what was a solid match. After some fast paced action Juve got his official WWF career off to a great start, scoring the victory following a Brianbuster

Devon Storm

vs

Perry Saturn

Following a commercial break we are introduced to another WWF newcomer "Crowbar" Devon Storm. Styles and Cruise making mention of his tough, smash mouth style. Honky Tonk seemingly more interested in his "inexpensive" ring attire. Storm got some decent shots in but he was completely overmatched by Saturn, who put him away without ever looking in danger. The two appeared to have communication issues in the ring as the match flowed awkwardly and there were a couple of blown spots.

Victor: Perry Saturn

-------------------------------------

As Saturn makes his way up the ramp we go to the announce desk where they discuss Honky's match against Dallas which is up next. The conversation is soon interrupted by the word Dallas' voice shouting "BANG!" through the arena's speakers and the accompanying pyro. He makes his way onto the ramp and does the "self high-five" before swaggering to the ring. Once in the ring he tells everybody that the Real People's Champion is here and he's about to show everybody in the WWF what he's about when he humiliates the Honky Tonk Man.

B-

Dallas

vs

The Honky Tonk Man

Dallas' first outing in the World Wrestling Federation was an impressive one. Honky Tonk got his shots in, even finding time to wiggle his hips once or twice, but The Bang Man controlled the majority of the match. The infamous Diamond Cutter made its first appearance in a WWF ring with a perfect example of how the move can come from out of nowhere - as Honky attempted his Shake, Rattle N Roll swinging neckbreaker Dallas spun out of the move and into the Diamond Cutter for the 1...2...3

The APA

vs

Too Cool

The Honky Tonk Man didn't make it back to the announce desk for the main event. The crowd were split for this one as it was contested between two babyface teams meaning it perhaps lacked some added drama. The match itself was a good outing for both teams, and worthy of headlining Heat. After a quarter of an hour of good back and forth action Bradshaw scored the pinfall on Scotty 2 Hotty following an Aided Powerbomb.

The show closed with footage of Stevie Richards tracking down Raven, somewhere in the bowels of the arena. Joey Styles hastily recapped Raven's offer to Richards, issued on RAW is WAR. When the two eventually did come face to face, Stevie explained that he'd been thinking about what Raven had said and he was right. Stevie was tired of being overlooked and if Raven knew a way to put an end to that, he was willing to listen. Raven didn't react to this news in any way and instead sat looking silently at Stevie as the show went off the air

The following news items are taken from the website of the ProWrestling Lantern

- Sources within the WWF have made note that the show was never intended to close with the pre-recorded footage of Raven and Stevie Richards joining forces in the boiler room. This was an error on the part of the show's director. Kevin Dunn was reportedly livid that the show went to air with the error still present as was Vince McMahon when he heard of the news. There's speculation if there will be any repercussions as there is a feeling that this error would never have happened were Vince still so heavily involved with the WWF's output

- In the week between the show being recorded and airing there has apparently been another 180 on Monty Brown's positioning in the company. Brown was set for a big push the second he was signed, hence the training montage which aired on Heat and his impressive debut on RAW is WAR. However there was a feeling behind the scenes that Brown elicited "the wrong sort of heat" on his live tv debut. The opposite now appears to be true with sources once again reporting that all concerned are very high on Brown and are now delighted with the reaction he got from the fans in Las Vegas

Rumours that he received disciplinary action following an incident at the event remain unconfirmed

- In other WWF news this week has seen them add some new faces and welcome others back. Legends Howard Finkel and Mean Gene Okerlund inked deals over the weekend as did referee Jimmy Korderas and new arrivals El Dandy and Black Warrior. The two luchadores have been brought in to both boost the Light Heavyweight division and hopefully improve the mood backstage as Juventud Guerrera was apparently very isolated in the dressing room

Warrior in particular is being ear marked as an important acquisition with new booker Adam Horovitz being very high on him, even persuading WWF higher ups to pay relocation expenses for the masked wrestler - something they were unwilling to do for Bret Hart's nephew Teddy Hart and Hector Guerrero of the famous Guerrero family

RAW is WAR opens with the obligatory fireworks display and, just as last week, Vince McMahon opens up the show. Power walking down the aisle Vince looks decidedly smug.

"Good evening Denver Colorado!" the crowd pops "Just as I promised last week I am here tonight to reveal the man who Im trusting to run the in-ring aspects of this company while I am...otherwise engaged."

"That's one way to put it" Joey Styles adds on commentary

Vince continues "He is a man who has seen and done it all in this industry and I'm confident that he'll be able to take anything which he is presented with in his stride. He is a man who knows what it takes to get it done here in the WWF and he is a man who will not be afraid to deal with some of the more... extravagant characters in our locker room. He is... well, quite frankly, he is the showstopper." The energy crowd rises audibly at that "He is the icon!" The crowd rises again a little "He is The Hearthbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels!" with that HBK's familiar music hits and he dances out onto the stage, soaking in the affection of the crowd

"The Heart Break Kid is back! The future hall of famer is the man running the show!" exclaims Styles at the commentary desk

Shawn milks it for all it's worth on the way to the ring. When he makes it there Vince shakes him by the hand and exits, giving him the floor

After telling the crowd how good it is to be back in a WWF ring and how amazing it felt to walk out onto the stage Shawn gets down to business. "Everybody knows that the Royal Rumble is coming up and the World Heavyweight Championship is on the line and that means that this year the number 30 spot is even more important than usual. And that means that it can't be left to chance. Next week, right here on Raw is War, we're gonna have a match to decide who gets number 30 in the Royal Rumble match. I'm not at liberty to say who might be involved in that match, you're gonna have to tune in to find out!"

Shawn goes on to say that he doesn't want to delay proceedings anymore and its on with the show

Kenta Kobashi

vs

Scotty 2 Hotty

As with his WWF debut on Heat, Kenta Kobashi looked very impressive, dominating Scotty throughout the match and leaving his feet only once (at which point Scotty attempted the Worm). As with his debut, though, Kenta's anonymity stateside meant that the crowd were indifferent to his display. Chris Cruise and Joey Styles put Kobashi over strong behind the desk.

Victor: Kenta Kobashi

Next we go backstage. Stone Cold appears on camera. After an appropriate amount of time the Rattlesnake begins his schpiel

"What?"

"WHAT" the crowd answer back

"What?"

"WHAT" the call comes back again

"Wha-" Austin trails off as the Undertaker walks into shot and the two stare each other down. After a few moments, the American Badass begins to speak

"You really think you're gonna win the Royal Rumble, son?" (WHAT)

Austin stares intently at the Undertaker. He then ****s his head and begins cleaning out one of his ears with his little finger. He looks back to Big Evil, confused

"What?"

Undertaker is clearly in no mood for Austin's antics.

"Don't play your games with me, boy. Those idiots out there might think this crap is funny but it ain't gonna fly with me" (WHAT)

"You don't want me to play games?" (WHAT) "Don't want me to mock you?" (WHAT) "Make fun of ya?" (WHAT) "Belittle you?" (WHAT)

Undertaker cuts Austin off again "Stop." (WHAT) "You and me got a problem" (WHAT) The crowd are clearly getting to Taker.

"You know what" the Deadman begins "Im sick of this 'What' crap, Im sick of these idiots and I'm sick of you!"

The time for talking appears to be over prematurely and the two men get nose to nose. Just as the situation is about to combust a familiar gravelly voice from off-screen interrupts "hold it hold it hollld it" Shawn Michaels calls as he saunters into view

"You fellas might wanna reconsider doing this here seeing as you're tag team partners and all"

Both Austin and the Undertaker look totally confused

"That's right. I just got done making my first official match as WWF commissioner. Tonight its gonna be the Undertaker" Shawn points at Taker "and Stone Cold Steve Austin" he points at Austin "versus Dallas and Kevin Nash!"

The crowd pops big for this announcement. Shawn bounces out of shot leaving Taker and Stone Cold staring holes through one another.

Intercontinental Championship Tournament Round One

Perry Saturn

vs

the Honky Tonk Man

This was a solid match, which Saturn controlled from bell to bell. "The greatest intercontinental champion of all time" 's bid to regain the belt will have to resume another day. Intercontinental Championship Tournament Round One

Grandmaster Sexay

vs

Raven

This match suffered the same fate as the rest on the card, despite the competitors' best efforts the crowd were largely apathetic. Each man had a point to prove in this match - the young Grandmaster looking to establish himself as a serious player in the WWF and Raven looking to send a message to the entire WWF that he will no longer be ignored. The action reflected this as it went back and forth, Grandmaster Sexay scoring several near falls early on. The sadistic Raven took control after taking some shortcuts and dominated the middle of the match, sending his foe to the outside. There the Grandmaster was subjected to postings, a russian legsweep into the guardrail and being thrown headfirst into the steel steps. The youngster battled on however, rallying once back in the ring. Ater downing Raven he went up top but took too long posing for the crowd and came up empty on a Guillotine Legdrop attempt. Raven took advantage with the Raven Effect and from there it was academic

Victor: Raven

---------------------------------------

After a commercial we see Stevie congratulating Raven backstage. The two are disturbed by Chris Kanyon. Raven seems happy to see him

"Christopher. Just the man I wanted to see"

"What is it, Raven?" Chris responds, sounding not as enthused as Raven

"Why the hostilities? Is that how you talk to all of your old friends?"

"We aren't friends"

"That hurts, Chris. That hurts. You and I go way back. That's why I was watching your match so intently last week. That's why I watched as your big debut in the WWF went up in smoke. I watched as you were pinned to the mat by a broken down old man. A has been. You've been waiting for this opportunity your whole life and when it was presented to you... " Raven trails off, making a *poof* gesture with his hands. Kanyon looks increasingly aggitated as Raven continues

"You're just like Stevie, here. I know you, I know both of you. I know what you're both capable of but nobody else does - not even yourselves. You can make it here Chris. And I can show you how. I can show you the way."

Kanyon looks defiantely at Raven "You're right, I can make it here. And I can do it just fine on my own. You know why? Nobody's better than Chris Kanyon" with that he marches off

We are whisked to Edge and Christians locker room where the Tag Team Champions are wearing their trademark shades, admiring their title belts. The two engage in goofy chit chat about their "gold" seguing into a discussion about Goldust. They say that he is "a weird dude" and Christian asks Edge "what's with that... breathing thing he does?". They then compare impressions of him before we cut back to the announce desk for Goldust's entrance

Goldust

vs

Edge

Even a match featuring one of the WWF's two championship holders wasn't enough to get a reaction from this crowd, only the most hardened of Edge's fans mustered any energy to invest in the action. In spite of this the two men in the ring had nothing to be ashamed of. Chris Cruise and Joey Styles noted on commentary how big a win for either man could potentially be - if Goldust were to knock off one of the men holding WWF championship gold it would send a big message about what he's capable of, while a win for Edge would prove he is not a one trick pony and can get it done in singles as well as tag team action. Edge was slightly reluctant to get too involved at the start, Goldust giving the Canadian a first hand demonstration of "that breathing thing". Edge didn't allow himself to be psyched out however and instead focused on his own game. After some heated exchanges Edge picked up the win following an Implant DDT

We come back from commercial to see a group of security guards standing outside a dressing room door. Goldberg's theme song begins pounding through the arena's speakers and he tears out of his dressing room, marching toward the ringside area

Goldberg

vs

Chris Kanyon

Not even GOLDBERG made this crowd get off their feet! The match lacked fluidity but was an action packed affair never the less. Goldberg deployed his array of impressive power moves while The Innovator Of Offense showcased some of his own unique attack when he was given the opportunity. Joey Styles theorised that Chris Kanyon was perhaps rattled or distracted by Raven's words and he may well have been, failing to capitalise on a downed Goldberg fast enough. That was the opening Goldberg needed to blast him with a Spear and Jackhammer for the victory

Following the match Goldberg demands a microphone. Big Bill demands that X-Pac come out and face him right now. After a few moments everybody is surprised (none more so than Joey Styles) to hear X-Pac's theme song. Pac doesn't look dressed for action though and, remaining well out of harm's way at the top of the ramp, informs Goldberg that he's not medically cleared to wrestle and is still recovering from an injury to a nerve. Joey Styles is quick to add that X-Pac "looked fine last week when he was attacking Goldberg from behind". Goldberg is seething as X-Pac walks off, holding up his hands apologetically. Even without a microphone in his hands Goldberg can clearly be heard shouting "You're next!"

The Undertaker and Stone Cold Steve Austin

vs

Kevin Nash and Dallas

The crowd finally came to life for this one which featured fine back and forth action. Stone Cold and The Undertaker looked to have things well in hand, working shockingly well as a team. Nash and Dallas cut all the expected corners and grabbed the advantage where they could whenever they could. Stone Cold grabbed the hot tag late on, after Taker teased not tagging in, and the American Badass was the proverbial house afire. Pepper Dallas and Nash with is trademark strikes the unlikely duo looked set to pick up a big win. After smashing Dallas with the Snake-Eyes/clothesline in the corner combo Taker signalled for the end. Suddenly he rounded on Austin, smashing him from the apron with a big boot.

Joey Styles responded with the expected hysterics "What the hell is the Undertaker thinking?! He and Stone Cold had this match won! Why would he attack his own partner?"

"The Undertaker taking a cheap shot at Steve Austin there, clearly trying to prove a point to his championship rival" adds Cruise

The Undertaker looks out at the dazed Austin with utter contempt. As he turns he turns right into a Diamond Cutter! 1...2...3!

The following is from the website of the ProWrestling Lantern

-WWF officials have confirmed that neither Chyna nor Ivory were present at last week's WWF house shows or last night's RAW is WAR/Heat taping because both women were sent home last week, for 1 month. WWF did stress, however, that while Joanie Laurer (better known as Chyna) has been sent home due to a disciplinary matter, Tina Ferrari (a.k.a Ivory) has been sent home for a leave of absence which she requested due to being fatigued.

With regards to Chyna's suspension the WWF would not say whether or not it was a matter concerning steroid use. Chyna was intended to be the centrepiece around which the WWF would rebuild their women's division but those plans could well be in jeopardy.

Shawn Michaels is the commissioner in WWF and Bret Hart is GM in WCW. If the war between us wasn't hot before, it's hot now.

By the way, is Michaels still a drug using, Playgirl model *******?

Haha I hadn't even noticed that :p

If he is, it would go some way to explain the low rating of his unveiling segment...
