popyura
I've played several runs through the default database, played a 10 year stretch in Modern Warriors 4, and have even played around in Weidtverse. All were lots of fun (I really dig this game), but what I haven't done is mess around with the smaller (in more ways than one) companies like XCC. So, to remedy that situation, I have started a run in the Default Redone database (with some semi-minor tweaks to make the 'verse more manageable). Basically, I tweaked the following: 1. Eliminated all players that compete in Welter and above. This left me with 500+ fighters that all are pertinent to a company like XCC given the weight classes it covers (Bantam to Light). 2. Edited 4 companies (I need some competition) to match with XCC and to create a situation where one or more companies are after the same talent. Basically I took FLB (located in Brasil), EMMA (Europe, yo), Bellator (Northern Mexico (why not?)), and Alpha-1 (Japan) and matched them up with XCC so I could have some good competition as I attempt to turn XCC into an internationally known MMA entity. Given that I tweaked the database, and eliminated a ton of fighters, I started in a situation where the 5 companies engaged in bidding wars for top talent for the first four or five months of my game. So now, with my roster intact, I thought it would be fun to make this run through the database a Dynasty . . . hopefully everyone digs it.
popyura
XCC 1: Salas Vs. Ash With my roster intact and stocked with talent, I started off the game a bit ahead of the other companies in the game and was able to put out my first card well before any of the CPU controlled companies could scrap one together. So, after wading my way through a ton of contracts, here is XCC 1: Salas Vs. Ash . . . I'm not to keen on having Ash in my first main event (he's been the 'Verse's Jens Pulver in the games I've played (just terribly inconsistent)), but it's a start and he had the highest aura value at the start of my game. I mean, I want to make great fights, but first I have to concentrate on getting butts in seats. http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/6053/xcc1.jpg XCC 1: Salas Vs. Ash Main: Dominic Ash Vs. popyura
XCC 1 RECAP http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/6053/xcc1.jpg http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/7209/cmain1.jpg With the world of MMA starting to gain momentum in its build towards mainstream acceptance, the XCC was in a festive mood in anticipation for its first event featuring a main event pitting Dominic Ash against Soloman Salas. The winner of the bout will get a XCC Bantamweight title shot against an undetermined opponent. Ash, before knowing that Salas would be his opponent was busy sharpening up his wrestling abilities for a potential clash with Li-Kong Ho. Today two of the best Bantamweights in MMA squared off and it quickly turned into a one-sided affair. Using his speed, angles, and more technical striking the man they call 'Dash' showed off the performance of his young career. Anyone who is familiar with both men's body of work know very well that their fights are fierce. This one didn't go the distance. Salas tried to take down Ash numerous times but to no avail. With a combination of jabs, hooks, wonderful head movement, and superior foot work, the American was able to score the KO early in the 2nd round. Questions after seeing Ash Vs. Salas: -Can Ash show an ability to remain consistent in his next fight? -Who is next for Salas? Notes from XCC 1: -Britt Dickering put on a wonderful performance against the always exciting Duey Rickert and managed to get a KO by kick early in the 3rd round. -Yoshihiro Makamori showcased his superior submission skills in his bout against Seiho Nanami scoring a victory by Kimura in the 3rd round. -Charles Stiles Vs. Hiroshi Yama****a was an all out war. I was surprised by Hiroshi's's recklessness in the ground game department.. It's back to the drawing board for him. Stiles gets the win by Kneebar submission. -Valdo Calamari showcased some wonderful all-around skills against Markus Waller in earning the controversial SD. Valdo looks like another threat in an already stacked Bantamweight division. XCC 1 main card awards: Fight of the Night - Hiroshi Yama****a Vs. Charles Stiles. Performance of the Night - Dominic Ash. Finish of the Night - Charles Stiles. Disapointment of the Night - Seiho Nanami. Notable mention - Dominic Ash's KO of Soloman Salas was a brutal way to end a solid night of fights. Attendance: 118 for a gate of $2950 Critical Success: Good Commercial Success: Average Full results. Winners in BOLD. XCC 1: Salas Vs. Ash Main: Dominic Ash Vs. Soloman Salas Co-Main: Markus Waller Vs. Valdo Calamari Duey Rickert Vs. Britt Dickering Seiho Nanami Vs. Yoshiro Makamori (#9) Charles Stiles (#3) Vs. Hiroshi Yama****a (#16) Ronald Roncatto Vs. Ethan LeGrange Thoughts: The first card was a solid start, but not the kind of commercial success that I wanted. I'm planning on putting a title on the line in my second event, and am hoping that it will draw a bigger crowd and help move my company from red to black. Expect to see XCC 2 posted soon! popyura
News from the Post Fight Press Conference with XCC CEO Lionel Watts http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/9201/facejj.jpg 1. When asked about whether Dominic Ash was in line to fight for the vacant XCC Bantamweight championship, XCC President Lionel Watts said “more than likely.” However, with the opponent uncertain and no championship lineage to draw from, nothing is set in stone. 2. New signing Lil Brock has emerged as the early favorite for a title fight with Ash even though he hasn't had a single professional fight. When pressed to explain the thinking behind this possibility, Watts said, "He's good, you'll see". ***NEW XCC SIGNINGS*** http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/4176/brockz.jpghttp://img600.imageshack.us/img600/8080/shogunf.jpg Lil' Brock and Lil' Shogun sign with XCC! Brock, standing in at a diminutive 5'2" and built like a miniature Sherman Tank, is seen by many MMA insiders as a can't miss prospect, while Lil' Shogun, standing in at a mere 5'3", is a well known amateur who has made a name for himself in the underground circuit abroad. It remains to be seen if either of these two fighters will be able to make their mark in MMA, but as XCC CEO Lionel Watts said, "We think the world of these two prospects and believe that each will prove themselves worthy of the chance we have afforded them".
