Promotion rises, alumni gains HOI

Recommended Posts

If a promotion eventually gets to Major status say global, would everyone who's ever held it's world title, even before the upgrade, get "points" towards HOI?

I ask because i notice in my WWE game that Low Ki had 9% towards HOI and i haven't used him much up until now so he hasn't got it with me but he's previously held the ROH title and they've recently gone International.

The requirement is at least Cult, I think, but I know that National or above would count.

So if he got the title while RoH was National, that explains it.

To answr the first part, no, it doesn't count. That main event title was just part of some regional promotion way back then, no one cared about it. But now that it's the World Championship of some shiny National promotion, well...yeah!

It's National or higher for it to count.

But if Low Ki was with ROH while they were at least that high, and won the belt, it would've counted towards him.

To answer the first question, though, no: if you win a belt while a company is regional, and then one day they hit Global, you don't get credit towards the HOI. On the flip side, if you have someone win a main event title in a larger company and THEN they fall to Cult, it still counts.

I think Summerslam, Royal Rumble and Survivor Series are also historic, so main eventing them would count towards HOI requirements.

Low-Ki pulled out so many A* matches for me in my ROH game. By 2022 I was global and had been for a few years so I put him in a feud with Eddie Edwards where they traded my world heavyweight title a few times and it really pushed them towards HOI induction.

In times gone by Summerslm and Survivor Series could have been considered bigger PPVs, but these days they aren't anything special. That's easily highlighted by asking fans if they remember who was in the main events of those shows in particular over the last few years... I can't think of any for sure, but I can guess at a few of the likely names who would be involved. As such, they shouldn't be rated highly enough that they'd count towards the HOI requirements. The Rumble remains a big draw though so it could, but I think only 1 vs 1 and possibly 2 vs 2 matches count towards achieving the advancement towards HOI achievements anyways, so the prestige wouldn't help anyone though it would draw more fans to the event than for a standard PPV. :)

I still consider Summerslam a major PPV but I think that Survivor Series has lost a lot of it's prestige in recent years, so that it has become "just another PPV" to me. Summerslam still gets a lot of buildup and they at least try to have better storylines/feuds and more important matches on the card.

I'm pretty sure only singles and tag team matches count towards HOI inductions. I've got A* ratings with 4 vs 4 matches on a few occasions and I don't think any of the wrestler's HOI % increased.
